Warning:
Everything including the boot logo will be replaced with huawei logos and the phone works like a cloned Huawei series phone with lot of instabilities like Camera,Sound,Mobile network detection etc won't work. TEST IT ON YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Procedure:
1. Download the two files
Files for DOWNLOAD:

2. Flash it in the order of their download using Meticulus twrp.
3. Neglect the errors that shows. Reboot the system and Huawei bootlogo appears.
4. It shows Optimising system and wait for sometime until it finish.
You can experience EMUI5 on your honor 5c before the official release with some glitches.
If someone can fix those network connetivity/simcard detection issue,it will be appreciable and myself trying every possibilities...
To revert back to stock Honor 5c emui, what i did is flashed the BOOT.img, then again attempted with the bootloader unlocking fastboot code,then flashed the stock ROM using VOL UP+POWER+VOL DOWN by placing the UPDATE.APP on sdcard. You may feel it weird !! I'm not a geek!!:silly:

That's a bit expected as this was for another device.
Had a go of this last night and also couldn't find a fix for the sim card issue, everything else seemed to work fine though. Will try again tomorrow when i've more time to play around with it, going to checkout each of the emui 5 OTA's and see if any of them work
The Revolution Nougat ROM RC2 has double tap to wake (DT2W) working on it, would be nice having that working on a honor 5c

It's a little tricky getting back. I used the dload method with stock recovery. Didn't work the first time. But after powering off the phone and trying a few times it worked

Attached are the download links for your model, not sure which variant of the L31 you have. Download a Full firmware and place it in the dload folder on your SD card. Then with the stock recovery on your phone, do the 3 button recovery. It'll fail the first time, but just keep trying

If that's the case I would just use the latest NMO-L31C464
version. If you are coming from emui 5, it'll make it even hard, as the dload method always fails the first few times

I have ported Twrp recovery to pixel v2s , also ported some roms , mostly flyme OS , upto latest version because I like it,
recovery is quite stable with no major bugs. I managed to port Flyme OS from meizu m2 mini, which I will share in some time. Only major bug it has is camera. I am trying to fix it. Then I will share here.

Good news for you, I ported MIUI 8 from m2 to your phone, only camera is the major bug, I am trying to fix it, will post the complete from soon.

Sorry for the delay , quite bad state of electricity here, lots of power cuts, but anyway I am uploading recovery 1st, before flashing , enable unlock device from developer option , then goto fastboot mode then type fast oem unlock, follow the instructions, let it reboot (warning ,userdata will wiped so backup before running that command. Again reboot into fastboot. Run command , fastboot flash recovery TWRPxxxxx.

Now here is the link to the recovery, use it to backup stock rom or whatever you like, never use it to flash Super User if it asks at the end, after flashing a rom, that will cause a bootloop. I have not found any bugs, it is better than one for pixel v2 available on xda, that has many bugs. Yes kingroot works on stock and some custom roms as well.

again lots of power issues and slow internet, I was not able to upload , if you wish and you have unlimited internet I can provide link for official flyme os , once you download, just extract and delete some files that I point out, I can guide if anyone is willing to do the bit, I will drop my telegram number here 8228813138(if anyone is interested). I managed to upload the patch which you need to flash for our device after flashing this rom. I will post link to the rom, if anyone is interested; pm me on my telegram number for more details. Or you can wait until tonight, but I am not very optimistic that things will improve until I get out of this place, which will happen only after a few days.

Here is the patch, you may get a small error when flashing Miui rom, but it will work nevertheless. The error is while flashing busybox inside the zip. So flash the rom with twrp, wipe data,system,cache and dalvi-cache , before flashing. After that ,don't reboot, just flash the patch. and then reboot.

Warning! Before going forward , please backup your stock rom with even data on sdcard , beacuse we have low internal memory. So, if you feel like going back to stock rom you can without hassle.

on request of @franzyroy and @dexz, i port the new Elite Kernel from P9 Lite to your beloved Mate 8 CxxB56x build
With this you can flash anything and see in SYSTEM ! VIPER...adaway no systemless...etc...
DISCLAIMER:

Install:
1.) Download this Elite Kernel for Mate 8 v2 (B563 variant).
2.) Put in Root of SD Card.
3.) Flash this in Latest TWRP Recovery for Nougat.
4.) Install Phh Superuser from google play.
5.) And you are ROOTED.
This is the easiest method to Root Mate 8 by just flashing Boot file in Fastboot Mode,,, NO TWRP REQUIRED Like other METHODS
The file it's boot.img modded and signed for boot.

@franzyroy i guess that one and one more file there was,,, some more system files were there too but they dont need to be touched... all done,,, until someone check this, we cant say anything that which file need to be corrected or placed....

I have tested your Elite kernel but it doesn't worked. It stucked at Huawei logo. Most probably your EK based on C432B560? Currently I'm using C636B563 firmware.

Like I said to @dexz via PM, a French friend has installed Elite kernel on a fresh L29C432B560 installation then installed PHH's superuser via Google Play. No bug for him but also no root. I think it could be due to our TWRP which isn't fully functional, at least in his case. In his case, a "Format data" was perhaps necessary to can install correctly this boot.

Hello .. i flashed it on my Mate 10 Lite .. the rom is pretty smooth and reliable .. flashed it through TWRP .. everything seems to be working .. but same as carbon the portrait and wide aperture doesn't work .. the camera just hangs until you turn them off .. front cam doesn't save pictures when beauty mode is on .. other than that it's pretty good for a beta release .. i don't know about NFC though as my device doesn't support it .. give it a shot .. and by the way .. you should use HURUPDATER method for returning to stock EMUI .. i use it and it's working like a charm for me .. going to check for bugs even deeper .. give it a shot !
NFC is no go with Los. Tried Carbon out, it has NFC so may stick to Carbon in the mean time.

You dont need one, flashing los only changes system partition meaning you only need to backup your own system.img , if you dont like los flash your emui system back and your good to go

Anyone knows how to root this system? Tried LOS 15.1 su addon, but did not work.

And for TWRP, I suggest installing Unofficial by @Pretoriano80. Now I can see content properly and also access to all partitions works fine.

pretoriano twrp loads ok for me, but I had problems with some partitions - couldn't mount system in write mode and other errors.
Official twrp, works on with LOS, but I have one problem - cant write Cache partition...

I only tried Lineage and Resurrection. Lineage seems smoother to me, Resurrection does have some more customisations but I switched back to Lineage.
Did anyone tried installing gcam on this lineage?

RR if you want tons of customization in your rom (some customization are not working properly)
Lineage for more stability
And carbon for something in between both of them

Correct me if I'm wrong i think the moment you unlock your bootloader, there is no update will automatically notify or download on your device. every time there is an update you need to flash it manually.

Hey i have a goodnews! i received an update today directly on my phone and after downloading it, click the install and will reboot to recovery then automatically installing via twrp on my device. i have no screenshot on twrp. btw im using twrp chinese version.
After updating via OTA for this update. my phone UI is restarting

It's significantly better. Haven't really noticed it at all, and that's how it should be.

So I got an updater notification, and it allowed me to download the newest one. When it went to install it came up with the Chinese TWRP, but I have the English skin of the Russian one. I don't read/speak mandarin so I didn't want to risk swiping, but I thought it was super interesting.

there is an option there to choose language including english one. but if the Russian is compatible then there is no need to change that.

Took a while, but here's Lineage 17.1 builds, based on Android 10.
Everything should work AFAIK, but let me know if something doesn't.
If you run into problems installing Gapps, you might need an updated
TWRP build. It needed a change to support the new system-as-root
in Android 10. If the official TWRP builds doesn't have it yet, there's

Both Rom and Recovery Works for me on my I9192
Maybe your download get corrupt
Root is not working though as arne said
i tried to patched boot.img for magisk but it did not work either
little things that i notice So far
1st when creating QR code or Scan QR code for wifi(Android 10 feature) Settings Got Crash
2nd conditions/Summaries that shown on the top section of the settings like turn on mobile data,your phone is on silent..etc There is no way to dismiss that on previous versions you can swype to dissmiss that

thanks for your work.
Sadly there are some ugly and heavy bugs, escpecially regarding some hardware
related things.
Bluetooth Audio stutters and cause the whole system ui to get laggy and also
some force closes can happen. Audio streaming is not possible.
Wifi Direct is not working anymore.
Memory leaks appear.
And so on..
After some hours of intensive and frustrating testing i went back to stock rom
where i never encounter such issues.
Im using the phone at home without any simcard just for audio streaming from
my nas to my hometheatre-system.

Google magisk and system-as-root. It's not a straight forward thing in Android 10, due to the bootimage is not containing a real ramdisk anymore. As far as I could figure out, you have to patch the recoveryimage, and boot to recovery in order for magisk to load. When booting this patched recoveryimage, magisk will boot into the normal system unless you keep the hardware keys pressed all until recovery is loaded. It's all a bit messy, and I could not get this to work though. If anyones gonna mess with this, be sure you have backups, in case normal boot gets broken.

Both Sims are working fine
I installed this ROM on my test device. It all works very well. The only problem I noticed was like @franticfreddy said, the Bluetooth audio doesn't work right.
