Software update notification - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Is there anyway to remove the Android N software update notification?

Hold the notifacation and tap the "i" on the right. A screen will come up. After that tap the "i" again to go to the app info.. Force stop the update app and you are done. Sorry for the bad English..

swype issue - automatically changes language

I'm having a weird issue where swype changes the language input to espanol automatically. It only happens sometimes. Anyone else experiencing this? if not, where do I sign up to learn espanish??
As far as I know, this cannot be changed.

Had the same issue. The Swype 3.0 beta is much better than what is on this build.
Ha, I have the same issue. I keep thinking the globe button is the @ button and press it by accident all the time.
no way to install 3.0 huh?
This has been driving me crazy. Thanks. And NO THANKS to Swype for putting that button there.

You and many others. It is not quite as bad as the old "hidden word" popup you couldn't disable, but it's close.
I mean honestly, do you REALLY need a quick toggle for that!?!? And beyond that, you can't do away with it? Somebody was not thinking.
1) Root
2) Wifi Tether
3) TB UNINSTALL THIS VERSION OF SWYPE
my wife hit the button the second day and almost broke her phone because it was typing in Spanish and she couldn't figure out why.

just wondering...are you trying to accomplish a task during a phone call?
Try this app from the Play Store, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kiumiu.ca.statusbar.free. Not sure if it will work because I don't have a Note yet.

I'd say that is the workaround. That's the same thing I do on my MB508.

because you are supposed to be single focused talking to your spouse/significant other while on the phone...not split attention multitasking. They have thought of everything on the NOTE.
Why don't you hit Home button, then you be able to pull the status bar down during a call...

What he said. I just hit the home button and I can use every function on the phone from there.

Brings me back to my original reply... What's the purpose? Lol. . .

It prevents you from accidentally doing things while on the phone. It's like screen unlock when you're on the phone.
Perfectly plausible situation:
Your caller asks, "may I please have Nancy's number?" and you say, "why yes, please hold while I send you the contact card via email."

Anyway The press home is known. I was just wondering if this is a bug or intentional.
why are u complaining about just having to hit the home button first? it literally takes half a second?
It gets me every time! then i say to myself DUH press home... :0p

How come in all the reviews, it says you swipe up from the bottom? Is that not available on the S3?

Your right mate.
Not only this factor.
Many things like the flicking of shortcut to remove button directly removes widget /shortcut.
But, in S3 we need to drag till the button.
Then, Full Screen Calls , Deleting images through gallery by flicking then up , etc.
Google Now comes with Jelly Bean only.

Do not keep activities means No application run in background. selecting this option will prevent any app to run in background.. While kill app usually refers to killing foreground app.
Don't see the point in killing apps. This beast has 3G ram. Really your phones need some apps running in background. There is a reason for that. Just let your phone do his thing.
Sorry, where is the developer option located fit Note 4.

what worked in note3 does not seem to work in note 4
Ok so forget the developer screens and all that. . All we ever had to do was hold down the center home button from the home screen and all the open apps would show tiled from top to bottom of the page. You could just swipe them closed from there. .. but this does not seem to work now. ... so what is the new way of doing this same action? ??? (Don't want to have to justify WHY just want to know how to do it now thanks )
Now u need to tap the recent app button there u can swipe to close the apps or choose to kill all the background apps

How to remove these notifications?

Man this thing is always taking space on my notification drop menu, how do I remove it?
Good gracious why we can remove this, I already made it not to show on everything on the notification management but it does not go away.

Try the Auto Notifications app, from Playstore, it works.
You will need to go into settings / apps & notifications / apps / more - click the three dots at the bottom of the screen next to the settings badge and select System Apps
Scroll down to "Android System" and disable the desired notifications that Android System is placing onto the lock screen and or the status bar.
In my opinion this is one of the only things that has annoyed me about the Mate 10 this far.
Hope that helps.
