Dual Boot Patcher is an app created by chenxiaolong, which allows you to have multiple ROMs on a single device. This thread was originally to present a port of this app while the OnePlus 3T wasn't officially supported. However it is also official supported now but there is an issue with the official app more precisely with the TZ version while installing patched ROMs. Then you get an error like

oppo.verify_trustzone() failed to read current TZ version
This is because some ROMs use a special partition called TrustZone (TZ) to identify your device. But this partition is not accessible by ROM zip files patched with the official app. I fixed it by making the TrustZone partition accessible during flashing. I also gained much experience with the Dual Boot Patcher app so feel free to ask questions but please note that if flashing fails, first look up the error at /sdcard/MultiBoot.log and google it before reporting it... Please leave a 'Thanks' if this was helpful!

Working:
- patch ROM zip files
- patch GAPPS zip files
- patch SuperSu zip files

Issues:
- Sometimes after flashing something, all pins, patterns or passwords are wrong in one of the ROMs. Then simply delete the file /data/system/locksettings.db (your saved fingerprints won't be lost) with TWRP.
- If flashing of a patched zip fails for any reason, you have to choose another install location ("Partition Configuration" in the app) when patching the same zip file again!
Important instructions for the OnePlus 3T:
- To save a patched zip file, select "OnePlus 3T" instead of "Internal storage" on the sliding menu, otherwise you won't be able to save it.
- You should patch zip files only for data-slot because the other partitions are usually too small!

As far as I know, there are no special issues when using it on the OnePlus 3T apart from the mentioned ones.

Just select ROMs on the sliding menu of the app and then click on secondary. You don't need DualBootUtilities but you can use it to select in to which ROM you want to boot via recovery.
I have a problem, when I patch the rom file I see only OnePlus 3 and not OnePlus 3T device in the selection, I tried to flash from TWRP but also if I delete the string that is mentioned in the instruction, I received an error. The message say that file is patched for OnePlus 3 and not for OnePlus 3T.
When I used it on Nexus 6P all worked very smooth.
Now solved first problem, I wrongly edited file script but now the zip give me the follow message.
Is there any way to install Aroma zip?

This is because flashing the first zip failed. You have to patch your zip file again but choose another install location. If you download the updated app, you also don't have to delete the string from updater-script anymore.

Thanks but I just have the last version of the application and of I don't remove the string I have the error of verification, I can try to repatch the file.

The error is displayed clear on the screen: "Zip files using AROMA installer can only be flashed from recovery", so flash it from recovery...
I always seem to get this error, no idea what I'm doing wrong.. any ideas?

I try to flash Aurora Rom V8 in TWRP. I am getting symlink error in aroma. Any ideas? Tried secondary and multi slot. Decrypted phone.

Q. After trying to revert to stock state(out of the box) my device is stuck in a bootloop?

Used the tool - now phone will not restart. It is stuck on the four colours that move about. Has been stuck on this now for about 5 minutes.
Any suggestions? I am able to get into twrp recovery no problems.

Also no he doesnt, the only thing that could cause this is the build.prop tweaks, whitch can be reverted by pushing the backup back to /system/ Aldo mine will Also include restore options soon

also people reading the article on the portal, the tool does not use fast flash commands, it uses the dd method for those flashes, when i add kernel flashing and backing up your device as .img files then i will be adding fastboot flash commands, so yes, the flashes occur when your device is booted!

Would you recommend running your tool before first boot?
Just a few questions: when there is <waiting for device> for 5 minutes, that seems like my drivers are wrong? It was possible to unlock, but not to install a recovery, so i am trying to update my drivers...
And can i run the tool and select unlock, install recovery and root even when my device is already unlocked?

i have been testing for a few days haven't had any problems as of yet besides when i first boot to recovery it just has a black screen for 5-10 sec before it comes up almost thought something was wrong. i use a 32g ultra sd card so it usually takes awhile to scan all the files since it is always full.
There's an update for Philz I don't know if its for all device tho also there seems to be a problem flashing virus venom aroma zips I will try and post a screenshot ..

That update if manly for f2fs additions.
I've build it anyway, because sd-ext wasn't working, so that's fixed now.

The flash is failing because it says you don't have a shooter or shooteru if your absolutely sure you do you can modify the updater script located in the aroma zip under Meta-inf/com/Google/android/updater-script just remove those first lines that look like your error to not check for the device name. Not all ROMs have that some check for boot loader versions others don't check anything at all just be careful once modified it can be flashed to any device and possibly brick it by flashing the wrong partitions. There could be something weird going on with the recovery if it works with other recoveries.

What a great recovery I use it on my note 2 and like it better than any recovery. Plus it will read and backup in both twrp and cwm styles.

I got this from cache/recovery/last_log
Not sure where to find tmp. I've seen it before but for some reason I can't for the life of me find those logs.
Here is a link to that log last_log I think it says the same thing but if you can give me the path to tmp I'll post that also.

That log has what I need.
I think I know what the problem is, and I'll try to fix it.
Is there a way to fix permissions from within this recovery? If so I can't figure out how.
If not does anyone have a flashable script that will only fix permissions?

GApps - Pie only!!!
Right now on T580\T585 pie images with gapps dnw, it's stuck on the start wizard, what is strange.
Solution: flash image without gapps and then flash gapps. It's working. I'm playing right now with aosp 9.0 and gapps.
We have 32bit recovery and right now standalone gapps think about arm and 6.0.1 version, what is wrong. If you want to check firmware - please make backup. Better to store all partitions, at least efs and may be modem.
As we all know - the tablet does not support treble. And we do not have a separate /vendor partition, i'm using /cache as /vendor.
Instructions
1. go to the current twrp and full wipe
2. flash my twrp - this is latest twrp with system_image support, it need to restore system treble images (twrp-3.2.3-0-gtaxlltexx.img): https://drive.google.com/file/d/16D-sFDt41n-wxNu1A0q01oRRKiZ-AsfF/view?usp=sharing
3. flash zip with vendor data and boot image (lineage-15.1-20180827-treble.zip): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uX5JYqLCTMPpT5Zx2Wvi0U-Ms49S0YrW/view?usp=sharing
4. now you device is ready to flash any treble system image from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development - download img, copy to sdcard and then flash as system image in twrp
5. if you wanna check another rom, just make 1-4 again
Known Issues
1. video-recording
2. rotate sensor working, but strange - on rotate tablet show black screen for a moment and then back to normal in right state
All firmware say about wrong vendor version. This is normal, just press OK.
System A only
Checked firmwares
Almost all oreo roms from treble's thread working.
Even new Android 9.0 Pie roms working, but it has issue with sdcard, it will require additional checks from me.

I can build version for t580, the kernel and almost all stuff is not a problem, question only in the gps. In the t585 it's connect to the ril, but t580 using own gps chip. I don't know, where I can get 64bit binary for it. In case of t585 i'm using proprietary bin\libs from a5'17. Need to check, can I use 32bit gps in 64bit system.
And may be can be a problems (not sure now) - all treble's images created for phones. tablet with lte is close to phone, but not a witi version. but in any way - it's need to check.

It's cannt work on T580 right now, because treble require changes in DTB. Without DTB changes system cann't mount /cache as /vendor and you will get boot before animation.
Will try build T580 today.

Guide
1.Make sure u have rooted device.
If Not follow this (Root For U3,S3,S4)
2. Download the custom recovery[TWRP]
3. On the PC rename the unpatched recovery as recovery.img*
4. Use 7zip to make it into recovery.tar*
(right click and choose add to archive)
5. Use 7zip to add your patched boot.img to recovery.tar
(right click and choose add to archive and choose recovery.tar)
6. Use 7zip to add vbmeta.img to recovery.tar
(right click and choose add to archive and choose recovery.tar)
7. Install recovery.tar to ap slot using Odin.
To ensure that data is not encrypted*so as to enable data to be backed up follow these steps
8. Boot the A20 into TWRP and mount everything that you can.
9. Format Data (not just wipe)
10. Flash*Disable_Dm-Verity.
11. Reboot into Recovery. It will reboot into download mode.
12. On the pc repeat step 7.
13. Reboot phone and re-enter all data.
14. Reboot into Recovery.
15. Flash Magisk
16. Backup*boot, data & system
17. You can now restore boot, data & system.
If u are getting vbmeta.img fotter error when booting to twrp Then flash this vbmeta.tar via odin ap solt.

☆ Magisk TWRP Installer ☆
This is originaly a Magisk TWRP Installer made by xXx for OnePlus 8 Pro.
I just took and modified it to get it work on our Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G Ultra.
Our Dr.Ketan helped me to fix the TWRP Installer with the path of the recovery partiton.
1. Before using this Installer you must need following!!!!...... else it wont work:
- Root your device like Dr.Ketan mentioned in his Root thread!!! --> [Guide] How to root N20 Ultra (N986B)(N9860)
2. How you can use this TWRP Installer?
- Download the Magisk TWRP Installer from post 2
- Just open Magisk -> Go to Modules -> Press Install from storage -> Choose the TWRP Installer -> Flash and press Reboot
Congratulation now you flashed TWRP made by ianmacd
3. How to update the Magisk TWRP Installer?
-Download the latest TWRP from Ian and swap only the .img file inside the .zip and repeat point 2.

The backup/restore function doesn't seem to work . Which is expected .. as i haven't got any working nand backup since the time of old devices ..
I wonder if any one got any successful backup either full or partial for some parts .. ?
I'm using a stock rooted ROM with lite magisk module to enable some CSC features .
What I'm looking for is the ability to restore the system (mainly boot portion) to get back the phone booting if any improper installation of a module or app affected the device to boot normally !
Many function doesnt work in this moment.And recovery have problem with reboot from recovery to system and others problem.
Stock rooted ROM the best for now.
