[F5122] Can TWRP recovery in POISON works on Android 6.0.x? - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Hi guys. I am new to xda and I still cannnot post on the original thread posted by @lubik1 :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/development/romubxperia-poison-v1-0-xx-f5121-5122-t3525884
I rely on xposed very much so I still do not wanna flash Nougat now.
So I come out with a simply question that can the recovery in POISON post works fine on Android 6.0.x?
I want to flash xposed into my F5122.
BTW i flashed xposed by flashfire for many times but failed (black screen). I installed xposed with xposed installer but it cased bootloop.
It's driving me carzy.
I just want to root my phone, install twrp recovery (for future flashing) and xposed. Can anyone help me?
Thx a lot!

I haven't tried putting xposed on mine as of yet but its took me a while to actually get it all sorted with nougat on my device.
I hot booted the recovery through flashtool instead which worked fine use this one i have uploaded https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2iNRglthTH2a1JuZWlxaGFkTDQ
obviously make sure you have the rom file on your phone and supersu.zip file too for when you are flashing in recovery and dont forget to give the phone a wipe in recovery first.
Any problems give me a shout ill see what i can do.

I've installed Xposed on my phone without using any recovery. This is what I did following serajr instructions https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69993876&postcount=87 and using adb from a computer
Code:
adb shell
& su
# mount -o remount,rw /system
# busybox unzip /sdcard/xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary -d /tmp/
# chmod 777 /tmp/META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary
# /tmp/META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary 3 0 /sdcard/xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip
# reboot
Be sure you to have a modified kernel for your phone version (something like this kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x/development/root-xperia-x-34-0-2-292-modified-t3449708, or you can make you own modded kernel) and the Xposed zip in /sdcard folder. And remember that for now Xposed in the Xperia X only works in MM.

I have tried this before but I put xposed zip into boot.img then failed.
I think it's the xposed in boot.img and the one I flash into my phone by flashfire conflict.
I will have a try on your method. Thx again!
BTW I have a problem to ask you how to make selinux permissive? Does the lucky patcher work well?

[ZIP/CWM/ROOT] Post ROM Install Zip For Locked Bootloaders

This is for only Phones with Locked Bootloaders ...
This may enable People with Locked Bootloaders to use any ROM based on the Stock 4.1.B.0.431 ROM .
What does this Zip do ?
Re-Installs CWM recovery and Installs SuperSU app .
Requirements:
Rooted ICS Stock/custom ROM
naA or pvyparts's CWM Recovery.
How does this work ?
Before flashing ROMs meant for Locked Bootloaders
Format system,data and cache
Flash the ROM with install from zip option
At the end uncheck the Reboot system option so you go back the recovery
Use the install from zip option and Flash the PostInstallCWM.zip ..(once only)
Reboot device
Tested on:
DryDroid
Flush78 ICS_cold
MiniCMSandwich Lite
NeroICS_v2
RealICS_r4.1
RealICS_r5.1
Real ICS Lite r2
What about the locked Bootloader optios in ROMs ?
Sometimes the stock system charger overrides the custom required for Locked BL CWM therby blocking access to recovery .
What if I flash the zip twice ?
Chances are the zip may be aborted when extracting /xbin/sh and /xbin/su will be deleted .But you can reflash root using Root zips .
Why did you include root ?
Some ROMs have faulty root permissions and I like SuperSU over Superuser ...(or duplicate root binaries )

[Q] How to install BusyBox and Xposed in HTC Desire X?

i have HTC Desire X. i can't install busybox, my phone reboots on installing it.
i want to ask that does this flashing the zip file helps? it wont brick my cellphone right?
i got this " Root_SuperSU.1.44-Busybox.1.21.1_in_xbin-signed" and "busybox" zip file from some XDA thread, i have attached it
do i have to install busybox in my phone before going to recovery and flash the zip file?? or without installing busybox on my phone i should go to recovery and flash this zip file? they haven't mentioned anything about it in that XDA thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51688913#post51688913)
i have attached two zip files for BusyBox, please someone check it.
i m not able to install Xposed on my HTC Desire X. after reboot app_process disappears (shown in the picture attached).
there are three modes of installation in Xposed
1. Classic (write to /system directly)
2. manually zip flash by recovery
3. automatically zip flash by recovery
what does 2 and 3 do? and how does 2 and 3 work?
i have installed xposed version 2.1.4 via flashing zip file in twrp i got from this some website (i m not allowed to post the outside link for some reason), i have attached the zip file i got from that website.
Now i want to update it to latest version but after installing lastest version (2.5 or 2.4.1), app_process doesnt get install (app_process number shows 34 in red)
is there a solution to this problem?
is there a way to get Xposed zip for latest version?
Please Help. i m noob.
Thank You
To install busybox I think u need custom kernel.

Hard bricking can happen with installing busybox too, same chance as installing kernel. You can also install busybox from recovery, you only need to find a flashable zip

[STOCK][D58XX][5.0.2] Firmware 23.1.A.0.690 Generic [ROOT/XZDR/SuperSU]

Required:
- Flashtool in the latest version from: http://flashtool.net
- DualRecovery by NUT as installer.zip: http://nut.xperia-files.com (Download the correct one for your device and at least version 2.8.1+! And only if you have no working recovery on your device. )
- Full Root on 23.0.A.2.93 (Download) for example with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/giefroot-rooting-tool-cve-2014-4322-t3011598 / 23.0.1.A.5.77
Featurelist:
- SuperSU integrated (2.46)
- DualRecovery by NUT integrated (2.8.3) - Currently not working on Android 5.X!
- Fixed RW (/system) - Thanks to javierdsv
Can be used on locked and unlocked bootloader.
Be careful with encrypted devices. It may cause a softbrick on updating- process and afterwards.
Firmware Files:
D5803 (other Versions will be released asap!)
- Flashable.zip's and FTF files in folders - sorted by devices
(Tanks to javierdsv for sharing the "fixed rw flashable.zip"!)
The Flashable.zip i've created with the mighty tool PRFCreator by zxz0O0.
Installation/Update (short) guide:
0. Downgrade to the firmware 23.0.A.2.93 and root it (with giefroot) (only if you have no root!=
0.1. Install the LockedDualRecovery by NUT with the installer.zip (install.bat)
1. Put the downloaded update file (ROM.zip) on your device. I recommend you to put it directly on the device.
2. Boot into the recovery (While rebooting -> when the info LED flashs -> press shortly the VOL button for the Recovery you prefer)
(On Recovery you may create a twrp/cwm backup of your device if you get any issues on updating process!)
3. Flash the ROM update file (.zip) with "install zip".
4. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (perhaps under advanced).
5. Reboot to system.
You may have to wait some minutes on the first boot because of initializing system for first time (optimizing apps etc.).
What to do if you get permission errors? (While installing for example the Recovery)
Untill NUT updates his DualRecovery you should fix permissions with ADB with the following commands:
(tested with command line from the giefroot_V...\files\ directory -> shift + right mouse -> open cmd "here")
Either you could try the modified DualRecovery (installer) by NUT (modified by monx): http://d-h.st/iM9p
Code:
adb push systemrw.sh /data/local/tmp
adb push modulecrcpatch /data/local/tmp
adb push wp_mod.ko /data/local/tmp
adb shell
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/systemrw.sh
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/modulecrcpatch
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/wp_mod.ko
su
cd /data/local/tmp
./systemrw.sh
Special Thanks to:
[NUT] (DualRecovery and his efforts!)
zxz0O0 (giefroot rooting tool, PRFCreator and his efforts!)
Chainfire (for amazing SuperSU)

Just need to flash a zip, i dont need flash other files with Flashtools like .93 to .77 and to hold root access? Did tu flash it? what about blotware?
thanks thanks,
Yeah, I just flashed the zip. No other steps. I have root but cannot write to /system. I see no additional bloatware. Any disabled/frozen apps I did in 4.4.4 remained that way.
Could I just install the flash.zip from rooted .77?
Does anybody try this way?
Can i flesh the zip on my d5833
is android l worthwhile if i lose xzdualrecovery?

from what i understand you need to restore ta partition and lock up bootloader before updating to stock loli. but you can keep root with the method in the first post
So, just flash the ZIP? Does it overwrite current installed apps? No need to flash kernel and everything else from an ftf file?
How to keep root?
I'm currently on 23.0.1.A.5.77 rooted with no custom recovery installed
Can someone explain me in a simplest way how to upgrage do Lollipop and keep roooted?

I think you could try to install NUT recovery using the installer for Windows (you have root, so adb commands should work), then flashing this firmware over the one you're using.
Hi guys, thanks for all your posts, I currently have kk version 5.77, pre rooted and dual recovery working, I would like to try this lollipop release pre rooted, I am aware of the inability to use dual recovery, however I will still try it if there is a way to revert back to the release compatible with giefroot, anyone that could help me with this, it will be highly appreciated.

Has anyone managed to successully install Xposed on this device?

Hello, I own a rooted HTC Desire 630 and I attempted to install Xposed Framework two times now, but both of my attempts failed miserably ( I got stuck at HTC boot screen, although I could access the recovery ) . So miserably that I had to relock the BL and flash the stock ROM. This is getting annoying, because I followed all the steps really carefully ( FROM HERE: bit(DOT)ly(SLASH)2oS8H1u ) and I used the correct ARM .zip file. Is there a software problem that doesn't allow this file to be flashed? Or do I have to use special Xposed files just like it's needed for Samsung?
I have to mention that I had unlocked BL, Superuser access and the latest TWRP beta made by @Captain_Throwback when doing the prcedure.
ANY HELP/FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED
1. Root your phone
2. Install Magisk manager apk
3. Flash Magisk from recovery
4. Flash systemless Xposed framework
5. Install Xposed manager apk (modified for systemless xposed framework)
6. Install modules you want/ need.
7. Done!

That seems pretty convincing. I'll try it myself and confirm if it works for me.
Oh, and one more thing: Substratum. It's practically unusable for this device. Once you enter and finish the initial setup, you are prompted to grant it multiple app permissions, aswell as Superuser permissions. As soon as I hit GRANT on the Superuser pop-up, the phone reboots itself and the whole app data is cleared. Is it just my device that's operating like this or is Substratum unsupported?
Wondering if I should create a new thread on this if the problem persists.

Doesn't seem to work for me, Magisk just wouldn't install. Flashed the .zip in TWRP (v12.0) but after the reboot Magisk is still not installed.
So, in conclusion, the question still remains and the thread still awaits valid replies on how to do it.

Use this twrp (TEST2) found on this link HERE, Install Magisk apk, flash the Magisk zip, search on XDA for SYSTEMLESS XPOSED FRAMEWORK on that thread you will find modified Xposed installer apk and ZIP file that you need to flash. I dont get do you mean that it will work with AW 2.0 or is it a bug ?
I have permanent bootloop. I've already flashed my LG G Watch few times and still no luck. Do you have any advice how to boot?
[edit]
If you have permanent bootloop after factory reset of AW2, you have to reflash your watch with Mysterious Magic than update to 6.0.1 with OTA and then reflash to AW2.
I'm confused, TWRP is still reporting that there is no OS with my watch flashed to AW 2.0

Yeah, it flashes latest magisk (even beta) just fine...
You can adb install kernel adiutor to regulate vibration
You theoretically could also use SuperSU in systemless mode, imported is that changes to system won't work as the system file system (squashfs) is read only, it cannot be modified but this does not matter with systemless solutions like magisk as it only patches the kernel (hence systemless)

I'll try running magisk. I didn't even think magisk would work on AW. Also thanks for pointing out kernel adiutor.

You'll need to set a custom screen density
Code:
adb shell vm density 180
Default density is 240p, you can play a little what suits you best but I'm comfortable with 180 and all apps so far ran flawlessly, this command will keep the custom screen resolution across reboots, keep this in mind but as long as you can boot to bootloader you can change this to default or your liking, of course you'll need to reboot to take effect (in case you just use adb while watch is booted)

Thanks to @TheDevFreak for the download link
I put it here so we can find it faster.
Here's the TWRP 3.0 version that supports SquashFS filesystem to avoid the error
Code:
NO OS INSTALLED
bootlooping when flashing Wear 2.0 ROM

This recovery does not work anymore with the latest ota from 2017 on my lg g watch r:
NWS2.170620.003
I used the latest official image and following commands to backup my factory image:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system of=/sdcard/system.img
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery of=/sdcard/recovery.img
exit
adb pull /sdcard/boot.img
adb pull /sdcard/system.img
adb pull /sdcard/recovery.img
also the image should be available here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...003-fastboot-twrp-zip-factory-images.3405311/

You are looking in the wrong place for the TWRP recovery, this is for the LG G watch w100.
I believe you were instead looking for this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-lenok-twrp-3-1-1-0-touch-recovery-2017-05-19.3001890/
Have a good one!
