One click root apps no longer works.
The reason is Android is getting into more and more security stuffs, locking things up, you can't just exploit it with an app.

If you have the locked bootloader variant, then you will need to unlock bootloader before you follow this method(I've never owned a locked variant so I donot know how to unlock.
First :download samsung drivers on Ur pc.
2nd: go to cf auto root website, search for Ur phone's variant and download the file
3rd:you will get a zip file contains odin program and the root file.
4th,: go to developer options in Ur phone's settings (if there are no dev options then go to settings/about phone and tap the build number about 10 times) open developer options and enable usb debugging (enable OEM unlock if it applicable), turn off Ur phone and boot to the downloading mode by pressing the power home and volume up keys, after that connect your phone to Ur pc,open odin and load the .tar root file which did you extract from the zip file and press PASS, wait and KEEP YOUR PHONE CONNECTED until it reboot to installing screen with a red font, after the installation finish, reboot Ur phone and enjoy.
-----------
Another method: (my favorite method )
Download samsung USB drivers
Download odin app
Go to twrp.me, search for ur phone and download recovery.tar
go to developer options in Ur phone's settings (if there are no dev options then go to settings/about phone and tap the build number about 10 times) open developer options and enable usb debugging
(enable OEM unlock if it applicable), turn off Ur phone and boot to the downloading mode by pressing the power home and volume up keys, after that connect your phone to Ur pc.
Open odin and press on AP and load recovery file
After flash recovery, reboot Ur phone and install your favorite root ex:magisk or supersu and flash it via twrp recovery.
I wish that this help you

Hi,
I have similar phone but different Build Number
MMB29M.G900IDVU1CQD1
I was wanting to root my phone to undelete deleted sms, does the contact on the phone still have to be valid in the message box to allow this to work?
It was to a friend's understanding this is impossible and requires Phone provider to do this?

[Q] Cant Flash Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S3 Clone MT6575

Hi,
I have been trying to flash CWM recovery using every possible means. I have tried MTK Uncle tool and have even tried SP Tool. both process completes and gives success report but when i restart the phone by pressing Vol UP button it enters into Factory Mode not recovery.
Reason i want to install CWM recovery is to get the phone nandroid backup and install some old ROM as the ROM which i have is 4.1.9 and has so many bugs in it. even it cant sync my google contacts and calender.
Please guide me why my phone is not getting recovery installed even after completing the whole process without any error and get OK report at the end as well but when first time it is asked to reboot into recovery it gives a blank screen and when we do that again after replacing the battery it enters into factory mode.
Details of Phone are
BB Chip : MT6575
MS Board : GT-i9300
Modem Ver: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V20 2012/11/09 09:33
Built Time : 2013 / 02 / 18
UBoot Ver : 2010.06
Kernel Ver: 3.0.13 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #2 PREEMPT Tue Feb 19 09:27:09 CST 2013
Android Ver: 4.1.9
SW Ver: ALPS.ICS.MP.V2.6
Custom built Verno. : 1361175260
I say again i want to downgrade to some old version like 4.0.4 which has least number of bugs.
Thanx

Have you tried volumee down? Or maybe use rommanager to reboot in recovery?

Yes i have tried both. Rom Manager reboots me into a blank screen from which i have to come out by removing battery and by pressing volume down button it again gives me blank screen
This maybe happening due to the recovery not supporting your device. I have seen this issue around mainly with knock off/clone devices. As for bugs well even down grading may not fix the bugs.
That black screen is RECOVERY MODE
download recovery manager from play store and flash recovery.img
110% works on every device
Then try to reboot to recovery by same app or by rom manager.

Tried recovery manager... on first installation it showed no recovery installed i tapped on flash CWM recovery a popup appeared displaying downloading recovery... but it remains on 0% and suddenly it vanished at 0% and a black popup appear saying recovery flashed but still not visible in recovery colomn... and even if i do reboot into recovery mode same blank screen with nothing visible and if i restart by removing batter and open recovery manager it again says no recovery installed
What about preloader.... if i flash some other preloader but offcourse compatible to my model will that make any difference ?
Download the apk below.
http://db.tt/C7rlqTu1
1.Click on recovery in app menu.
2.There click on install recovery.
wait for some time, while app search for all .img files on your sd card.
3.Then click on recovery image you want to install.
4.Let app install recovery when installing comes and then message will come
"current recovery: unrecognised"
5.Now click on reboot into recovery in app.
And you will be in recovery after some time.

I own the same phone and have tried installing CWM on it through all possible ways! I think that newer phones with MT6575 no longer work with the Recovery img that we have been trying.
try this
i m using one...
on the black screen it seems stuck.. but press the home button u would get the recovery screen...enjoy
Hai there...
This is Rahul S Nair talking in behalf of Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro development (qualcomm blooded device).. I m a dev working for this device for creating a cwm... I successfully found a suitable method to root it formely.. But when we reached to cwm level we found that the device is not at all taking custom recoveries .. even a moded stock recovery is not being showing up.. whenever custom recovery flashes it ll give a black screen and reboot... after a long investigation we figured that this device have a locked bootloader.. Is it possible for you to unlock this guy....

i have been following steps in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33305784&postcount=2&nocache=1&z=5264202383282762
phone is constantly in download mode, and odin program looks like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/3mlc1ogy3ltxwgi/Screenshot 2014-07-18 15.08.09.png
i left it alone for over half an hour and tried multiple times putting auto reboot on and off. Any advice?
i also tried a different port, using the original cable, developer mode, reinstalled drivers, and tried an older version of odin... nothing seems to work
even Kies can't connect to my phone

hey mate. Use chairfire autoroot to root your s3.
I used it too to root my phone. It is best way.
Just goto chaifire website (google it) -> download the autoroot for your variant -> download Odin (I think it come inside autoroot zip) -> extract the zip -> you will find a .tar file -> put your phone in download mode by pressing vol down + home button + power and press volume up key -> connect your phone in your computer and let it install necessary driver. if the drivers were installed properly you will see COM id in odin. Only proceed if you see COM id. -> click on PDA and select the .tar that we extracted before -> just don't touch anything inside odin and click on start. Wait until odin say finished but dont disconnect the phone.
after the odin process there will be some process done in your phone so wait until your phone completely reboots and you see the SU app in your app drawer.
Now disconnect your phone.
Your phone will be rooted mate.
If you wanna experience s5 in your s3 then download the S5 sensation custom rom from the very great dev @sunajkram23. He has developed s5 rom with all its features and funtion for s3.
Before you flash any custom rom, you have a flash a custom recovery. I am using latest touch CWM recovery ( google it ) and download .tar file and then flash through odin ( same procedure to flash as I stated above ).

The solution is here:
download the required files from the given link: [50mb]
https://mega.nz/#!1NhDTQoR!cP7vrchwswOfj3oHQ5saZ2d0JkcmunEn5pqyOcpZDoE
INSTRUCTIONS: [redmi note 3]
1. Get into fastboot mode. Charge the phone first. Hold the power button and the volume down button simultaenously.
2. If you can open your current rom, open developer options by clicking on the build no several times in the about phone menu in settings. and select allow oem unlocking and usb debugging.
3. if not leave it... go on and connect your phone to the PC while in fastboot mode.
BUT, before that: open Command prompt on your PC. (search it on the search box). right click on it and open it in administrator mode.
type in: bcdedit /set testsigning on
hit enter and restart your pc
(this is imp.)
4. open the zip file and extract the contents. open the boot edl mode folder and click the edl.bat file. allow it to run.
5. now screen will turn black, do not disturb it. Now flash the twrp by running flash twrp.bat from the 'flash TWRP' folder.
6. Now go to Unlock folder and run the unlock bootloader.bat file.
your phone will boot into the TWRP recovery mode automatically.
if it opens in chineese you select every tab and find the globe icon.
if the globe icon is found on any of the tab select it and change the language to ENGLISH.
wipe your system from the wipe tab:
Now download the latest CM13 SNAPSHOT BUILD ROM FOR YOUR REDMI:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/kenzo-snapshot.zip
and GAPPS:
http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=mini
do select the arm 64 version and mini one.
download from your pc and copy it to micro sd card. enter this card into you phone and go to mount in twrp.
mount the micro sd card storage.
select the zip file on the micro sd card from the install tab on twrp and flash it.

your phone will boot into the TWRP recovery mode automatically.
if it opens in chineese you select every tab and find the globe icon.

Did you enabled OEM unlocking and android debugging in developer option.
And did you connect your phone to PC while in fast boot mode.?
This may be the problem otherwise it does well

installing twrp or cwm recovery and rooting Samsung Galaxy A10

So i recently bought my Samsung galaxy A 10 ,I have been trying to root it but no luck.i unlocked the bootloader, installed proper adb drivers and latest version of odin on my Pc. I was following procedures from rootmydevice.com slash root-samsung-galaxy-A10(sorry cant post external links, im new).evrything went fine up until i got to the flashing part using odin. I am not sure weather the twrp file is corrupt or I am missing something.anyone who might know please help.
here is my device info:
SM-A105F
Have you tried this tutorial:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a30/how-to/root-galaxy-a30-magisk-canary-relaese-t3936481
I'm stuck in two problems here...
1- I dont have the option OEM Unlock on my developers option. I think that it maybe because ive checked that option before and after that it desapeared... When entering on download mode, it shows OEM Lock: ON (L), i dont know if that means OEM is unlocked or locked...
2- I cant find the files in step 2: .extract the boot.img.lz4 from the AP file.
Just came here to find a root method for the SM-A105M. Seems like not a lot of love for the A10 here.. Lol Anyways, I will be testing this method I came across out tonight. I will post the link but can't confirm it's working. I'll post my results tomorrow.

Hi everybody,
I managed to root my A105FN with this method but with using the Magisk Manager v7.3.1 (no need of Magisk Canary)
It will be good to have a TWRP as welll but couldnt find a compatible one for the A10 (maybe useful for no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 and RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2 patch)
we need :
1. odin 13.3.1
2. official firmware for your device (to get the boot.img from AP_xxxx part => follow the other tutorial how to get boot.img and boot.tar magisk patched)(keep an original boot.tar, just in case stuck at boot)
3. 7zip ZS
4. Last Magisk Manager (for me was v7.3.1)
5. computer + usb cable
Warning : this root will give you big warning messages at every boot !
First you need to unlock your bootloader :
1/Under android, activate internet and go under "Developper Mode" (Setting>About>Software>Build Number and Tap on the build number repeatedly). OEM unlock option should be there.
If not wait and retry to see if there ... (needs internet, dont know why)
2/Then go under Recovery Mode (VolUp + Power at phone boot). No method to go "Download Mode" directly for my device.
3/Under Recovery, we need to unlock the bootloader as well. I cant remember what exactly I pressed but try to press VolUp or VolUP+VolDown just after you click to reboot under bootloader... It should show you a page where you can choose to unlock bootloader by long pressing VolUP. if you dont have it, retry again ... without that no Flash possible.
Warning : this unlock will give you a big warning at every boot !
4/if you managed to unlock the bootloader, it s almost finished... know under Download Mode with bootloader unlock, flash with Odin the magisk patched boot.tar. Do not forget to untick "reboot" under Odin.
(reminder:follow the other tutorial to get the file and remember to use the Magisk Manager v7.3.1 and not the canary.)
5/when flash done, reboot by pressing VolDown+Power then immediately on reboot VolUp to go under Recovery Mode.
6/Under Recovery, erase data/factory reset and reboot to system
(7/I dont know if it s necessary the VolUp at reboot till the vibration)
8/wait the booting ... if you are stuck on the warning page for a long time, retry to reflash the original boot.tar and restart from "1/"
9/if you managed to boot under android, good news you are rooted but it s not finished yet....
Under Android check you have "OEM unlock option" under Developper Mode (cf. 1/) otherwise at the reboot the system will go KO.
So when you have "OEM unlock" enabled you can install Magisk Manager. It will ask you to install something and it will reboot automatically. That s why check you have "OEM unlock" enabled before doing that !
10/After reboot, Done. ROOTED.. enjoy ! you can reboot as you want ...

Hi,
It is not a TWRP file, it is the boot.img file from the original firmware for A10, patched with Magisk to access the root function, unfortunately it does not work, have tested it.

If you have an US variant of the A10, don't expect TWRP to work on your device.

Galaxy A11 SM-A115 Root Magisk 20.4

To start this thread off not sure how to make a new section for the Galaxy A11 2020 This device has unlocked bootloader
IL have files for Odin and the Magisk root file below
First make sure your on "A115MUBU1ATC2"
Download from sammobile etc: search google
1. Open Odin Places the Firmware files BL,AP, CP,CSC, into place
put phone into Download Mode then start on odin
2. Onced booted proceed the setup installation
3. open settings head to "About phone" then "Software Information" click on build number to become Developer
4 Go ahead to Developer Options and check OEM unlocking
"""Proceed to download mode again and volume up to unlock bootloader"""
5. After Unlock. reboot again ""when presented with the samsung logo it should then show bootloader warning just press either volume up or down to select options
and choose "recovery" by using lock button. and it should put you into "download mode" again. its weird as of why it does that instead of booting into "recovery" . and the other "fastboot" option just reboots the phone so idk but oh well lol
6 Now being in download mode just put the Magisk_patched.tar under the AP in Odin then reboot phone
7 Download Magisk Manager Open app then you should be rooted with Magisk
If anyone can help me make a custom recovery for this device much appreciated

Your best bet would be to learn the sources and take some time to build one. It's actually easier than you'd think, but does take time to get to know the knowledge. It's very interesting and fun to do (I would help but I don't currently have my PC)
Yes! We need a custom recovery for this device. Just switched from iPhone and got a galaxy a11. Wanted to be able to flash something like kali nethunter.

I'm so glad you got rid of the Crapple product lol I'm truly sorry Apple's products are just not so good. Then if it breaks they claim it's "water damage" and force you to buy a new one
Let me see what I can find around the web and I'll get back to you on if I find anything good sir

A Nexus you can fastboot oem unlock and there are tons of roms and build source for it. You may even find a ROM like it for that device
You're welcome! ?

Thanks for the info. Its actually a specific rom, called Kali Nethunter. If you're not sure what it is, it's basically a portable hacking utility. Of course though, I only want to use it on my network or networks i have permission to test on. Unfortunately, i cannot seem to really get it on my device with working features. For example , the new bluetooth module, which lets you pentest on bluetooth devices. Even if i have my bluetooth turned on, it says that there are no bluetooth interfaces. Maybe my device is completely incompatible, but I wanna see what else i can do to fix this.

Also, were you able to find any compatible custom recoveries?
Do I have to use this specific firmware or can I use the one from my own region?
