Sultanxda's SnapCam App with Manual Controls [1100+ Downloads]-[Custom ROMs] - OnePlus 3T Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello Brothers,
First of All a big Thanks to all of the Dev Brothers who are investing their precious time and effort for the community. We all must respect all the developers so that we can encourage them for everything they do in the development of aftermarket OS, MODs, etc.
A Big Thanks to @apascual89 for the wonderful RR Official ROM & @Sultanxda for the wonderful commits for Kernel and Device Audio + The Camera App. It made the beast get loaded with ammunition. To XDA Forum. It has always been my school to learn anything for Android.
Introduction:-
I have seen many of us praising the Manual Camera Controls specifically if the ROM has HAL3 enable completely and correctly.
Now I have seen many of us also praising the Snap Camera App built by @Sultanxda in his LineageOS 14.1 unofficial thread. He has build great kernels and great ROMs for so many devices and for our OP3/3T as well.
I tried the SnapCamera app made by him and I can say the picture quality is something that's great even in low light. So I tried porting it for all ROM with HAL3 enabled.
So, Let's end the intro and drama here -
Hereby, with all due respect, credits & thanks to @Sultanxda for the app and permission to share the same, I am presenting the -
Sultan's Snap Camera MOD
Features:-
1) Manual Shutter, ISO, Exposure Controls
2) Uncompressed Picture Size (around 7 mb, in manual mode)
3) Option to Refocus After Capture
4) HDR Working (Special Thanks to @Sultanxda. It doesn't work normally in HAL3).
5) All other default LAOS Snap Cam options.
CAUTION:-
Be Warned, this will delete your ROM's default "Snap Camera App" & "system/etc/media_profiles.xml". So please do backup before you move ahead with flashing anything.
"THIS IS NOT MEANT FOR OXYGEN OR HYDROGEN OR ANY-GEN..... It's specifically made and will work only on AOSP or LAOS based ROMs only. No OOS or H2O."
-: Standard Disclaimer :-
If anything happens to your device because of flashing this zip file then neither Sultan nor me or any other Dev on XDA is responsible for the same and so it completely you who decide to move ahead with it and you are the only responsible person for the damage, Tsunami, Hurricane, or any earthquakes coming to your phone. Kindly read this twice before putting the question on any dev.
Flashing Process:-
1) Download the SultanSnapCam Mod zip from the link below.
2) Copy it in your phone's root directory.
3) Reboot to TWRP Recovery.
4) Backup your ROM, System, Data, Boot, etc.
5) Install the "SultanSnapCam Mod zip" copied earlier.
6) Do read the Text Messages displayed in TWRP Screen during Flashing.
7) Wipe Dalvik/ART Cache.
8) Reboot to System, Enjoy.
"Do not forget to hit Thanks button for @Sultanxda's threads and posts. It's really a great camera involving lot's of efforts.":laugh::laugh:

Thank you @Dhairya & @Scorpion70, for reporting the working status and for the kind words.
Still there are lot more users who have tried the MOD but not yet reported, if it's working for them or not-working, on different Custom ROMs.
So, I taking this for granted as it's working on all Custom ROMs and that's why users might not have replied yet....:victory:

Thank you for reporting brother. Credit added in 2nd Post.
Can you please check by clearing the data of the default camera app and ask your ROM owner about HAL3, if implemented or not ?
I guess it will be solved by clearing the data and also please disable any other camera app from "system/priv-app or system/app" folders. You can install them as normal apk.

mod not working with Offical paranoid rom just tried it .

Just tried and it works on unified RR by nicesoni_ash. Thank you.

On Varun, works well with the camera back but the front crash after some photo and I find that since the installation my phone is warmer and there is a bigger memory consumption.

Nope it would never work if you want to harm your device you can try it out OP Stated that it won't work for oos base rom etc libraries are different and it will brick your device
EDIT MOD WONT WORK WITH LATEST DU BUILD THAT IS 2ND JUNE
Cheers!

Working here on My Oneplus 3t running Resurrection Remix.
Camera has improved so much, thanks man good work.

Brother you're lucky, that your "Oxygen has not Changed in Poisonous Nitrogen", just kidding:laugh:.
But please don't use it on OOS as they some different modules and algorithm running for Camera.
In case, you wanna try, then please use HAL3 Enabler Zip from here - HAL3 Enabler, then flash the zip reboot to system and then try flashing the MOD, it will work.

@Dhairya,
Brother, I would request you to backup your ROM and try flashing HAL3 Enabler and please try flashing the Camera Mod on the same on DU or AOSPA. I am pretty much sure that it will work for sure but still I would request you to check n report.
Would be awaiting your feedback. Thanks for trying it on almost every ROM. Getting a supporter like you is always worth a thousand MOD.

The front camera FC is something we face on all LAOS ROM and it has something to be done by the team. Sorry, but can't help in that.
Phone heats up in almost all phones when you use Camera for more than 1 minutes even in Pixel or S8+ because it uses software rendering and GPU a lot more than any other app. Do not worry it will not harm.

Just for clarification. Will this work on oneplus3 and oneplus 3T

I've just flashed it on my OP3. Everything works. OS: RR by apascual

To make it seem cool and to try and make it a standard across all ROMs that support UBL and LBL devices. Just trying to change the way we look at ROM compatibility rather than having newbies spewing "IS THIS FOR LBL? " or "WHY DOES THE THREAD NOT HAVE ANY SAYING OF LBL? IS THERE LBL????".
I think it's a good idea. I try when I have time. Well I really liked that you did versions separately.

If it is like mrsteve555 rom u must install williams kernel based on stock
@Furrydaus
Amazing piece of work bro. The rom is blazingly fast and smooth, no hiccups whatsoever. It just cant get any better. The only thing that is annoying me is that the status bar and navbar dont disappear when in lockscreen....they just stay there... Is there any way i can get back the fullscreen lock?
Other then that nothing to complain about
And a big bigg thanxx and keep up this great work

The rom is actually very mixed up in terms of its base. Its a mix of cm, mrsteve, aosp and a couple of other different sources so it might be difficult to determine. You guys could try but im not going to be responsible for any device failures.
If you have any news of whichever kernels work, then do inform us on this thread!

Hi! Great job, I have just one question, can I flash this over Steve's CM11?
with 2 applications Photo Gallery
The ROM is great, but I noticed that it came with 2 applications Photo Gallery. It would be a BUG?
I used his previous Revolution 8, so I updated to the new!
Sorry my english ...

Basically based on @aapav01 CM11 with new themes and some editings..
But Hard luck to fix the camera because video recording is a bug in this kernel
Guys you all can try the latest Kernel of Build 20141227 of CM 11 if previously you had no lockscreen bug
And others can for now use this AOSP rom as it is .
Nice work ! But giving the new kernel a try is worth
If anyone tries .. Post the outcome
Actually, No. This is a source build, based on aapav01's device trees, and Rox's kernel. And the camera bug, it's not just the video, but everything camera related - Flash, video, as well as photo capturing. It's probably unrelated to kernel. Some build options must be the culprit.
And stay tuned: next up is Alpha build of Lollipop probably with camera fixed.

1. For the camera bug.. the whole camera isnt working or its just with the video recording?
2. Is the lockscreen bug there?
3. Does it have the video bug like aapav01's cm rom?
4. Is rotation still a problem?
If anyone has tested pls reply..
Thnx in advance

First of all thanks for the ROM
Smooth as in cm11
Camara doesn't work as specified.
Second Sim works but when you enable it to 3g.
The Sim which is in 3g only works.
WiFi, BT, auto rotate, audio, video works for playback.
Bugs.
Camara, RIL, only
Very much similar to CM11.
Thanks

Okay. Will add a mirror soon.
EDIT: Added
My review
This ROM is better then cm11 as it offered more features and more stability then cm11
However as dev reported some bugs like camera and second sim still exist and we all hope its will be fixed soon, also there is not too much options in launcher settings, BTW there's some new features in panaroid official site like colored status bars and Google now preinstalled... but I don't know is it for 4.4 or lollipop

The features you're talking about are the ones that AOSPA decied to keep off bounds for unofficial builds.(such as this one). They had, at some point, revealed their sources, but the links are now dead. They were also the features that attracted me the most, but it was only after building that I realized that they were not available in unofficial builds.

First time installing Miui7 to your Galaxy Core Prime (SM-G360H), or coming from another ROM:
Install ClockworkMod Recovery (OR TWRP)
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (Vol-up+Home+Power)
Do a Nandroid backup! (Optional and only if you weren't running TouchWiz before)
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition + format /system partition)*
Install the ROM from sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery (OR TWRP)
*NOTE: If you're running TWRP recovery, go to Settings >> "Use rm -rf instead of formatting" before wiping anything, else you have to wait 20 mins due to some weird bugs of our eMMC (maybe).

So you might not know. Me and my friends Booted MIUI 8 for Grand 2.
I had this device for quite a while and sadly noone bothers for it. So i supported Grand 2 developement.
The thing is CP is Speadtrum i think. If the same method can work for both Qualcomm and SpeadT then maybe we can work on a MIUI 8 next?
@mv2007 Instead of that, you should've ported or built a Lineage OS ROM.:crying:

Hey man
How are you
Am from Grand-prime thread
Our MIUI8 Have 3 bugs
Cam
Wifi
Audio headset
Any ideas how to fix?
K i flashed the rom. Here's all i can say
1)The icons are kinda squareish. Not like the regular MIUI 7 icon. Dunno if its a bug or its supposed to be like that.
2)Themes icon is nowhere to be found. Won't open from settings either
3)There are 3 camera icons?. And also it had 2 dialers. Stock KK & MI dialer
4) won't connect to PC despite USB debugging is on
5) can't download anything from playstore. Tried 3 different Gapps Packages. Please give a link for the recommended one or if its a problem then look into it.
Rest seems fine to me. Sorry i can't provide no logcats i don't have access to PC right now. Hopefully you'll fix them soon. All the best

@mv2007 bro as far as i know the port rom itself is not a good option. I mean the port device i.e core 2's MIUI 7 itself is not quite stable. So no matter how good the port is. It will always have port rom bugs. So in my opinion port device option Either you should've ported from a device which has a stable version. Or better if you can try build from scratch. If you want we both can get along and work on it. I know how to build from patchrom. But reject fixing is the only thing that i can't do myself. Tell me your telegram or hangouts if you wish to work on patchrom together?

weirdly enough it works on your version of AICP 7.1.2 so why not here cause frankly i prefer this one better
Hi, for now I'm not able to check this unfortunatelly. Maybe it's a ROM problem, both ROMs (Dot and AICP) were builded with same device sources so I think the problem isn't here. Maybe DotOS doesn't support Viper4Android, I'm not using it so I can't tell nothing about that :/ Anyway, Nougat version of DotOS isn't supported for now so probably I can't get help from ROM devs. If you want, you can check some other threads of DotOS for another devices and look this problem, maybe someone had the same problem.

okay thank you and what bout hide quick settings tiles on lockscreen for both AICP and DOTSos
you could really import some costumization settings from RR nougat you have done great job but it still can be better ,
That's ask for ROM creators, not for me ;p If some functions isn't implemented, I willn't add them, this is ROM specified. Possibly you can for yourself try to cherry-pick some commits from RR, add them to DotOS sources and then compile ROM. Nougat editions of most ROMs are not supported for now, just only Oreo, this is for example with DotOS or AICP.

Thanks for good words There probably will be some bugs but as I said, I'm not able to fix this, i don't have enough experience etc and now I haven't got too much time for learning something more about Android. Next thing is fact, that Nougat ROMs are not supported for now by devs what will be impediment for me. I think I'll do something more with Oreo when it will be stable
And anyway I was using this ROM for a week or a bit more and I didn't experienced any reboot ;-;

Notes
I've been using this on my T585 since yesterday and I have to say it's amazing!
Nice and smooth, tons of options and the home button wake works out of the box, woohoo :victory:
It does have sysserv, so Substratum themes don't need a reboot to get applied. My version did not have the Substratum key added, not sure if this final version does. I'll post the key apk once I find out if it needs to be installed seperately :good:
It's a grrrrrrrreat rom ... try it if you have the time
Screenshots are with Flare Substratum Theme btw
Edit: So I talked to @srgrusso and the key is NOT included. I've added it to my post now - if you want to use Substratum simply install the app and then the attached Substratum Key 1.0.apk. Then you can build + install your overlays and head to the Manager tab, select them and enable. No more reboots
Substratum key removed since it's now included in the rom :good:
How does it compare to stock or rr remix? Stock ROM is smooth as butter. I tried rr remix but some games I play ran poorly on it so I went back to stock and the performance was drastically different.

I can't tell how well it runs games since I've only played PUBG on mine. I never even considered play games on mine because of the specs. I always play my games on my OnePLus 6T. There are some differences between the stock rom and most of the custom roms you find here for the this tablet. Most of the code has been converted to 64bit where the stock rom only runs 32bit code. Also the custom roms are running a different kernel. The only thing I can say is try it and let us know.

No more reboots

correct, i forgot about that. substryatum.key is missing from this rom, maybe srgrussu can include it in source (same was on our lg v30)

How does it compare to stock or rr remix? Stock ROM is smooth as butter. I tried rr remix but some games I play ran poorly on it so I went back to stock and the performance was drastically different.

I can't tell you that, I have a PC to play games on and never play on my tablet/phone ... plus I was only on stock with this device for exactly 2 days when I got it back in November

No idea how many users actually use Substratum anyway though ... but hey, installing the apk takes 2 seconds, so that shouldn't be a problem
So I went ahead and flashed this rom and I gotta say it runs pretty smooth, just as smooth as the stock rom. I did notice though for some reason when you have gboard in float mode there's a white line that runs across the screen where the full size board would be, it doesn't do that on stock or any of the other roms I've tried.
Overall I say this is a pretty great rom thank you for working/releasing it.

Substratum key has been added. No need to install it anymore.
To see complete change log see link in post #2
I dirty flashed the update without any issues :victory:
These steps should be followed though, if you already have Substratum AND the seperate key installed:
Disable or uninstall all overlays
Uninstall Substratum
Go into apps/all apps, find the Substratum Key (NOT the helper) and uninstall that too.
Then you can dirty flash, wipe dalvik/cache, boot up and install Substratum again.
Now while building the overlays Substratum MIGHT flake out on you and show you an empty screen with that spinning circle, but you should see it still building them all in the notification area. It's simply a visual glitch, but it still works :good:

This probably isn't the right place to ask this question but I don't know where else to ask. When I google "Substratum", looks like some sort of special VPN network. But the XDA forum makes it look like another "theme" UI for Android. Which is it?

The top hit is the Substratum theme engine you need to run the many amazing themes, the other hits are some of themes
New TEST builds.
I'm testing out a new kernel from @followmsi OC branch. It is an overclocked kernel with all 8 cores functioning. Please leave your feedback on performance and battery life.
Thanks

are these links to separate kernel files, that we install with TWRP on an already installed ROM, or are these files of the ROMs, that include the overclocked kernel?

Yea, RR is nice too ... but LiquidRemix has more options. Somehow RR Pie lost a ton of options that were still available on Oreo, no clue why.
But luckily we can all like different things ... life would be very boring otherwise :good:
