boot looping - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Anyone else having this problem? Fully charged then power down. Hours later attempt to turn on tab and it boot loops. Was brand new and unrooted. Happened 3 times in a week where the only way to start it was a factory reset.
Returned the tab thinking I just got a dud and the new tab is doing the same thing. Ran smooth otherwise.
Is it possible that I have gotten 2 bad tablets? Or is this a Samsung thing?

I'd say it's something you're installing. Factory reset will be removing the offending app.

SGS3 keeps rebooting randomly

My SGS3 works just fine for 2 weeks, until now.
Suddenly, it keeps randomly crashing and reboot into samsung s3 logo screen.
Oh, I have tried different roms (and stock rom also) but the crash still happen.
I also have tried wiping cache, dalvik, clean install, removing external sdcard, and restore factory setting. But none was effective.
Any ideas?
I had a similar issue with my Atrix and it turned out to be the SIM Card. Had it replaced and no more random reboots. I figured this out by checking the panic dumps...maybe there is a similar way to check this on the SGS3

Thanks for the response.. I tried it just a moment ago without sim card, and it still got the random reboot..
Any other people who got the same problem?
Is the phone unusually warm? The phone will automatically reboot if it overheats, but that wouldn't normally happen unless it's been left in the sun or overclocked.
I can get mine to go into a reboot loop if I play Asphalt 6 while outdoors, but the problem goes away as soon as I let it cool off for a minute or two.

Sorry to hear that man. Had a SGS with same issues. maybe Samsung has hurried releasing galaxy S3
I'd factory reset and only put on the important apps you use. Depending how long it takes for you to normally get a reboot you can slowly add new apps back to narrow it down. I had the same problem last year and thought I had a bad sgs2. But it turned out to be dolphin hd browser at the time that caused it and haven't had a reboot in a year. It could be something similar in your case. Hopefully its software related and not hardware

i just tried flashing normal ROM, after booting to "get started" page, approximately 3~10 seconds, my sgs just rebooted over and over again, until it show only black screen with battery icon on it (i think it may be charging animation while the phone is turned off).
ahhhh this is driving me insane!!
update : i just flashed hypergalaxy ROM and currently it is stable and not experienced crashing (yet ).
i'll give further report later today

Have you tried reinstalling FW with Odin? If yes does it still reboot after a factory reset with nothing installed?
yes, i have tried flashing stock rom using odin a few hours ago, but the crashing still happen.
my sgs3 now stuck at boot-standby5sec-crash-reboot loop.
so, i decided to bring my sgs3 to samsung service center tomorrow. hope they will replace it with a new unit
UPDATE : Samsung replaced my new SGS3 with a new hardware (not sure new device though, the flash counter reset to zero )
the problem seems to be hardware related
thanks for all your reply to my problem

I am having the same issue, I've had my phone since Saturday (6/23/12) and it crashes, reboots, apps crash, internet crashes, email crashes, etc. I can udnerstand a lot of apps may not be updated to ICS.. but no matter what I do.. everything crashes.. It's a bit ridiculous. I am a prior iPhone 4S user and am probably going to return this phone. I can't do much without it crashing or the screen freezing.. not being able to do anything for 2-3 minutes, etc. And they couldn't port any of my numbers from my prior phone because they didn't have the software update to do so yet. So overall, bad experience with the Galaxy.. and maybe I should have waited longer before buying this phone to work all the problems.

I'm very sorry that u have these problems.but there will always manufacturing faults when making so many units.only one thing to do,return it and get a replacement.when u get a fully functional galaxy u won't regreat it,it's a awesome phone.Samsung usually replaces the phone,so I think they will do the same in your case.anyway best of luck
After all the problem I've been through, finally I send my phone back to samsung service center.. they tried to reinstall stock rom several times, and in the end, they change the IC board to a new one.. and it does solve my probs..
SGS3 tebooting
Hi guys here is a peace of my experience
Bought the phone last year in November .2 weeks everything fine then it starts rebooting itself.retun it to the mobile provider and get it back in 3 weeks with conclusion that they experience the reboots as well and that the phone had some kind of software issue.in 3 hours i was back in the shop with my phone rebooting again.they send it again to service got it back yesterday with 4.1.1 android and they sad it may be caused with wrong customizing or not supported sd card, turned on the phone and had few reboots manage to update to 4.1.2 and today heavy gaming internet etc and no reboots so far.will test it till wendsday and see what happens.if it will reboots again then its going back to service and this time it is the 3 time so i will get a new phone.

[Q] Sony Tablets are Starting to Fail on me!?!

So this is quite irritating at the moment. Me and my mom both have a Sony Tablet S (SGPT111US/S). Now both mine and my mothers are causing difficulties right now, and both have very different problems. So I'll start off with my moms tablet since it may just need to be waited out for the problem to go away.
Mom's Tablet:
This was just a couple days ago, My mom says her tablet froze at 10:03 (like it really matters what the time it froze at is) on the cradle. She had to press the reset button to turn it off, however the unit will not Turn on or even go to the Android Recovery Menu to preform a factory reset. As of right now it is connected by the plug rather than being on the cradle. I'm hoping that this issue can fix itself since others have had this experience before and got theirs working just by letting it sit a couple days on the charger, however if you have any ideas on getting it working sooner that would greatly be appreciated.
My Tablet:
I honestly don't know what has happened. Until a couple days ago I turned on my tablet and after it boot up problems emerged out of random the second the lock screen appears every single app crashes, not once but continuously. Even the home screen will crash and continuously reload itself, so getting to any app won't be possible and even at that when i do get to an app it's already crashed and i'm back at the home screen. To help make matters worse, the tablet won't remove Apps permanently, i can uninstall them (oddly enough while every app crashes without them even starting the settings doesn't crash.) however if i reboot the tablet everything returns like nothing ever left. I have even went to the Android Recovery Menu to try to factory reset the device, but the factory resets doesn't even reset even though the ARM says it did. So i'm stuck with this crashing loop and a Non-Factory Resetable tablet. I have tried to see if maybe rooting the tablet could help, but not even the Tablet will load itself completely when connected to my Computer so rooting is out of the question as well. Also the Bluetooth and Wifi won't turn off as well.
In the end,
Both Tablets have the current update (4.0.3 RA5) and both are Not Rooted. They are out of warranty so last thing i want to do is call Sony to repair my tablets for a fee. I would also like to note my tablet has been sent in once for repairs because it was stuck looping the boot screen, so my tablet has had trouble in the past, but since then until now i have never had any problems. I will admit, i do sometimes install cracked apps, the app i installed just a day before all this happened was Minecraft 0.7.2.......I have installed it on my EVO and Walkman Z and no problems have occurred and they still have the game.
Please any help for these tablets will be Greatly appreciated. Please Will you help Me?

How's your mum's tablet doing right now? If the issue still persists after what you've tried, I'm thinking maybe just let it run out of battery, charge it back up and see what happens. Also, have you tried using the pccompanion software to redownload and reinstall a fresh firmware back onto your tab? It's a more 'thorough' reset method as opposed to a factory reset through the tab settings.

Need Help with My Note

Okay, Now I know I am not the only one with this problem. Also, I know I am one of the FEW people who have this problem.
Story:
I bought the Note the other day from someone, they claimed that the note was stuck in a boot loop. I purchased it, Did a factory restore etc. The phone came on and was working perfectly. THEN the battery died, now I understand what she means by stuck in boot loop.
What happens:
Phone turns on
Starts up
Freezes after about 2 minutes
Reboots & Repeats
Now there have been a couple times I can get it to stay on for about 12 hours then it will just freeze and reboot. I have tried factory firmware restore, I have rooted, I have tried custom Roms, I have unrooted, I have done stock rom. The battery is NOT bad, it holds a charge perfectly well, the Power button is NOT stuck. I have no idea what else I can do, I have tried just about everything and looked all over this site for the past 2 days trying to figure out info on this problem, but so few people are having it that it is basically just looked past.
Any help is MUCH appreciated and I will be very grateful if this issue can be resolved.
Have you tried removing the battery / changing the battery / using a different usb/charging cable/ac-dc adapter? Then clear the cache and dalvik cache and reboot. If you can get it to stay on for 12 hours I doubt that you have a serious problem.
Power button perhaps?

Not sure about power button on this one. It wouldnt freeze, it would just reboot.
I question software on it. If you can get it running long enough to find out what it is running.
I might question more, is it running OS for the right device or possibly was it a clean flash?
Sounds like its running an older 4.2 JB rom......notorious for random reboots. Could be a rom that just may not work on you phone. Mine could run all except Carbon Rom. Dont know why, just couldnt. No biggie, plenty out there.

Galaxy Tab A Rebooting

A few days ago we purchased a couple of Samsung GalaxyTab A 9.7. For some reason that I haven't been able to work out two of them will reboot every now and then, there is no pattern to it, it could take a day or two and then it will reboot while reading a book. Or another example I decided to do a factory reset of the tablet to see if it was the kindle app or the SD card I put in it, so with nothing in it after doing a factory reset and while updating the preinstalled Galaxy Apps it once again restarted. Just wondering if this is an issue with the tablet or just the buggy android 5.0.2 it is running.
I've had one for a couple weeks now with the same restarting issue. I've hard reset and cleared cache at the recovery menu with no luck. Hoping it's a 5.0.2 bug, because I bought for use while instructing.
We have three, one of them isn't doing it. We took one into the shop, did a factory reset so they could send it back to samsung. The stupid assistant manager had a look at it and said oh the sleep is set to 3 seconds, he set it to 30 minutes then said it was fixed, he couldn't comprehend it was set at that because it had been factory reset to send up to samsung. Then we came home, let it rip to Samsung and they wanted both sent back. According to the samsung rep they haven't heard of this happening with this tablet.
Thought I would update this thread. The shop rang today and decided that they wouldn't wait on Samsung so replaced both tablets that were having this problem. Got home, charged the first replacement tablet, then set it up, as soon as it gets past the set up it reboots. then basically within a period of 10 minutes it reboots 5 times. Second replacement tablet so far seems alright. Samsung want the replacement tablet sent to them, so my advice dgr00s is get in touch with them and get a replacement.
So, i've been troubleshooting and whatnot. I used Samsung SmartSwitch and initialized the tablet. I used it all day at work without issue, today. Could be coincidence, but I will let you know if the reboots return.
Sorry for your bad luck. You could try the initialize with SmartSwitch to see if it resolves your issue.
according to samsung it was a fault with the tablets. all faulty tablets were returned and replaced all is good now, samsung have three faulty tablets to mess around with

To return or not to return?

Hi everyone,
Loving my lg g5. Issue is ive only owned it a few days and it just went absolutely crazy after i was setting up some apps. Went into a sort of bootloop. It kept rebooting, then id have 30 sec to 1 min of using it, itd freeze, then reset again, all the while being very warm. It was so weird, happened about 10 times before i factory reset. And so far so good.
But should i be worried? Im still within my 14 days from o2 so could get a replacement. Or do i look at it as a one off? Anyone else had this?
Many thanks.
There hasn't been any reports about bootloop for the G5, I wouldn't worry that much since after factory reset is working because that indicates that it might be a software problem that got fixed with the reset.
If you want to play it safe you can return it and get a new unit, if they accept it since they will see that the phone now is working just fine.
As far as I have seen there are couple of bootloop issues. Hard decision. I'd still take it and if it happens again immediately send it in for repair and I wouldn't bother trying to fix it by myself
