It's because the device (J2 Prime) is in a "new state"
Expect custom ROMs later this year

There's been no ROM development for J2, we got 1 custom recovery whose touch doesn't works properly. There're not evens mods available. So, the development is at its worst condition!

No real dev for this exynos device, not going to get another exynos again there is no real development here. never again.

MTK/Exynos chips = no kernel source

Please samsung galaxy j2oog root

No source so i got the expected features and they work nicely. Twrp and a reliable root.
Thanks by the way.

Actually I need Custom Rom for it

The only way you can expect this phone to pick up on the development side of things is to donate a device to a known dev. He/she might be able to help out if he's/she's got time and is willing to help out.
But that's highly unlikely. Maybe some dev will buy this device and develop for it? We can only hope

Xiaomi redmi note 3 - when wil cyanogenmod be available?

Dear,
Will the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 get Cyanogenmod 13? If so, when?
Has anyone started trying to create it?
What others mentionable ROMs are there out there for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3?
Kind regards,
BremFM
I can't wait too.
We may get CM12 first, since that's what the Note 2 has on offer.
When is the Note 3 going to get its own forum on xda?
Hi friends, I also want to know.
+1.
On another thread, a comment is made that Xiaomi has good hardware but poor software; the support is not there for international customers.
The MIUI forum for this phone is spammed by Xiaomi advertising new devices, rather than useful information.
Pray for cyanogenmod
You can follow progress here: http://en.miui.com/thread-205649-1-1.html
redmi note3
i wait too.
cyanogenmod +1

No.
There has to be a dev for Note3 who will keep updating it. As of now nobody is working on it. If I could get some help, I would be happy to create cyanogenmod roms for note 3
You guys will be best off taking matters into your own hands as most developers won't touch their devices.
I know how you feel about xiaomi, sir zelendel, and i can understand that but the situation is not as bad as it seems (they are starting to change their ways) . We got to consider a few things:
- this IS xiaomi so we have to take into account everything god/bad associated with that
- this phone has great value for money, no doubt it is/will be a very popular device - we can expect a fair amount of modding to be available
- since this is the first Snap 650 powered device it will take some time for the community to start developement
- xiaomi have promised to release source codes up to three months after the device has been released in india, so again it is only a matter of time (they have already released sources for few devices in the timeframe)
So there is still hope for this really good device, we just have to wait a little. In my opinion, there wont be any development for at least two more months since the device has been launched about 10 days ago - it is too early. Just be patient guys :good:
Also, CM is boring

Root is an ease with magisk
the custom rom (aosp based, CM etc) is non existent till this date
i would really love to see someone can really try to make things happen in this regard
i myself is not a developer but would surely try to help if anyone is willing to built a custom rom
i would be the first person to test and give some helpful feedback
development is no chance , while this device use surge s1

No kernel source after 4+ month.
Community development will die this way
I just found this one. I hope its true!!

Appearently the sources have been just released : https://www.androidauthority.com/xiaomi-needs-to-adhere-to-the-rules-of-android-832599/
Development is dead. No real progress from the time we did not have sources to the time when we have sources. Sorry mates, I personally do not have knowledge to build roms or kernels myself, else I would ahve contributed. We have a semi functional build of LOS 14.1 and that is all we got.
Development pretty much dead i think. Developers shows no interest to develop for the device anymore, this pretty much caused by Xiaomi themselves.

Sadly it looks that way, maybe something will change, redmi note 5 was released last week and already have official twrp and first custom rom.
But mi A1 is still a great phone, it will get androdi P and I personally love stock Android.
I'd say pretty healthy, especially loving the italian dev community
Plenty of ROMs nowadays for our MiA1.
Any change since mid-April? I'm considering moving on from my Galaxy Note 3 onto this device, since it has all the latest features I'm looking for. (Dual cameras, fingerprint scanner, USB-C port)

Can someone explain to me why this topic is important?
What are the benefits from a "strong community development"?
Thanks

Coming from Oneplus 3T, Nexus 5,Oneplus One. Of course this phone is much less in term of community development strength.
Nonetheless, as a non-developer. I really don't have any right to request anything as all community development are voluntary.
MIUI is not the UI I like. Stock aosp is the best. But currently, there are no Oreo roms being developed as we can see is not in the case of older devices. So, Oreo roms are the only missing thing stopping me from unlocking my device. Want to be up to date along with stock google UI.
For Indonesian users, go find another phone...
I'm very disappointed with this phone, there is no way to unlock the bootloader even with testpoint.

same here, vanilla UI still the best for me. Bit I still rather go AOSP Nougat even MIUI Oreo update soon.

Official phone is illegal too because its not bound to any carrier but xiaomi lock the bootloader with no option to unlock.

No i think maybe a separate forum will be created for lite version cause SOC and several other things differ between the two
looking forward to having this phone, bought the Mi A1 last May, and thinking to buy this phone, as long as this phone will be rootable (which it will?) and my girl already had a Nokia 7+, surely this will have a better community than A1, It'll just need time or so

I hope massive development for this device and early availability of its sources:fingers-crossed:
As this device is launching over 40 countries world wide so we have higher chances of great community
now I'm more hype!
Got the device today. It's ridiculously fast, as soon as we have a stable lineage os build I'll load it on and do YouTube videos reviewing it
I can see this device having a good community base. it will just take a few months due to the device being new but as you can already see in the forum we have boot loader unlock and root tools already.
Any telegram group for mi a2 yet?

I bought this phone today i had mi a1 before and this phone was one of the first a/b partition phones and makes developers to do hard work to find the tricks and even magisk was not compatible but now all of the methods had found and after kernel sources released developing will begin
As a dev, am still thinking to buy this device if there is enough community behind it. New Kernel features, Suitable GSI's for specific devices, TWRP and Modified stock rom, thats what i can do as i did before for P9 Lite community along with other P9 Lite devs specifically with Meticulus...
For now, Pre Orders are there for this device in my country, i will order a 64/4GB variant as thats the most high variant available,,,
Hoping to see interaction with you guys soon...
