Instructions to flash:
1.Make sure you have setup ADB and fastboot on your PC.
2.Download the logo file and transfer the logo.bin file to some place you can track it easily. Its better if you use the folder where you setup the fastboot.
3.Power off your device and keep it unplugged from your PC.
4.Boot into bootloader. To do so, press and hold volume down and the power button for 5-6 seconds.
5.You will see the bootloader screen. Now plug in your device to the PC.
6.Navigate to the location of the logo.bin file. While the folder with the logo file is open, hold shift on keyboard and right-click on an empty space and select “Open command window here” option to launch a cmd window.
7.Now type the following in the command prompt to get a code
fastboot flash logo logo1.bin

As I stated in your other thread, this doesn't belong here in the Development Section.
Just a thought, but maybe you should start a collection thread if you plan on making a bunch of these :good:

Actually, at the time I wasn't mistaken. Originally this thread was posted in the Development section and has since been moved to this section ?

Anybody know what the bonus is?

Is there a way to do this w/o pc like u can with the boot animation? I done that thinking it might change the not trusted screen but it didn't unfortunately.

Bootloader unlocked, now...confusion.

I'm having trouble getting this POS rooted. Got it unlocked with little problem, but now that it comes to rooting, it's extremely confusing to follow the tutorials. Is there any working one-click methods? I'm no stranger to Android OS, I had my Dinc2 rooted in about 5 minutes after unboxing. But this abomination is really working my nerves. Help please?
There is no "One-Click Root"
But rooting using the given instructions is not difficult at all.
Its as simple as downloading a few files, and typing a few codes.
what have you tried so far? and what firmware are you running?
Since you unlocked your bootloader, here is how you get Root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639
download the .img ,put it in your fastboot folder
download the rootxperia.zip to your SD card
Turn phone off, plug into your PC/Laptop and hold search button ( might take some tries) ,you should get BLUE LED
SHIFT+RIGHTCLICK on fastboot folder and open in command window (assuming your usiing vista/win7) and type
fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img
wait 2 minutes,it takes time.
Apply zip from SDcard and you are rooted

the wait for recovery to load is HORRIBLE!! lol. push the menu button once in a while if you are unsure. i did. it makes the wait (for me) less painful but installing the .zip and rebooting successfully with a rooted phone is AWESOME!!
Thanks for simplifying it for me Cat. I'm sitting here with my blue LED, my blank screen and my command window that now says "waiting for device" so that's what I'm doing. Waiting. Smoke break time.

Sony Ericsson sa0102 is installed, but I'm not seeing anything in my device manager about S1 Fastboot. Hmm...how would one go about installing it? I have the fastboot folder on my desktop. It has two subfolders, Fastboot and USB_drivers .

In this case if it's either still 'waiting for device' or trying to boot recoveryPLAY.img, then you're safe to try again since nothing is being flashed
When connected next time, in fastboot mode, before booting the .img, type this:
fastboot devices 'enter'
It will show a list of devices attached.
It might be that your missing some drivers so fastboot is not working correctly and won't detect your device. Have you pc companion installed? I don't remember if there came any drivers with the fastboot download but check that, there might be some drivers you didn't install.
Regards Dousan...
This is what happens. I just get another prompt. Here's a screenshot of that, along with the drivers folder.

That means no device is connected. Unlike ADB, fastboot does not return the usuall "list of attached devices" line. Have you installed fastboot drivers?

I don't know, I just installed what the guy told me to when he did the remote bootloader unlock. Fastboot IS in my device manager, however, it says there are no drivers installed. I've got the blasted things on my desktop with some DPInst.exe installer, but it says I need the 64-bit version, which I can't find. Microsoft tried to have me download some silly .ISO file but I really think there must be an easier way than to burn some DVD installation disk.

Ok these are the x32/x64 fastboot drivers.
http://www.multiupload.com/0XZV1LXRVA
Download them and unpack them. Connect your device in fastboot mode. Then navigate to device manager on windows, Find the S1 Fastboot thats not installed correctly. go to update driver and navigate to the driver package you just unpacked. Done

Also a special thanks to Alejandrissimo for unlocking the bootloader. Without you, this wouldn't have even been possible. Yay this blasted phone is finally rooted...

Installing ClockworkMod Recovery

Hi,
I'm on the process of installing ClockWorkMod Recovery, stupid of me i forgot to enable USB Debugging option on my phone. Now I'm stuck on Command Prompt saying...
C:\Fastboot>fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img
< waiting for device >
It has been sitting for more than 5 minutes as I am typing now. Should I disconnect the USB cord? Would this action brick my phone?
Sorry for my stupidity!

Hi soulhackereborn!
Sorry for the late reply! Sorry the forum prevented me from posting the URL as I am just a new user here.
"To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Anyway the tutorial says (copy&paste):
Use the computer for downloading the CWM file from here.
Then, on the same computer download fastboot from here.
Extract fastboot on C:\ drive.
Then, copy the downloaded “ecovery-nozomi.img” file to the Fastboot folder from your computer.
Now you must connect the phone in fastboot mode with the computer.
In order to do so you must plug the USB cord to the PC, then on your phone press and hold the Volume Up button and while doing this connect the USB cable to your Xperia S.
Up next, on the PC click on “Start -> Accessories -> on Command prompt right click -> Run as administrator”.
The command prompt window will now be displayed.
Now, enter the following commands (press enter after each one): “cd c:\Fastboot” and “fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img”.
CWM will now be flashed.
In the end the “finished / OKAY” message should be displayed.
In command prompt enter “fastboot reboot”.
Your handset should now reboot into ClockworkMod recovery.
Remove the USB cord and disconnect the Xperia S from the computer.

everything seems to be good in the tutorial though..
But what is it a kernel, rom or an CWM image file ???
if still it says waiting for device then here's a couple things you should check :-
1) Fastboot ie; S1 Boot driver installed or no
2) Switch off phone and connect it to the PC via usb holding Volume + button (this is fastboot mode)
3) Check does your device remain in fastboot mode or no i mean purple led light glows stays on continuously or no until u execute the command, if not reinstall the driver and try again
4) If everything well till now try flashing with the given commands without the quotes ie; fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img

1. I dont know how to check, it should be installed as i unlock the bootloader yesterday. I actually manually updated it on Device Manager.
2. I understand this.
3. On my case, it's a blue LED lit steadily after doing step 2. I am using Sony Xperia S.
4. Yes, i flashed them without the quotes.

Try rebooting both your PC and phone... This is a small thing but always helps and one more thing after switching off the phone n before connecting it in fastboot mode let der be a gap of alteat a min or two

Usually <waiting for device> can show up when you don't have proper drivers installed. Double check them if you haven't done so.

Dude as far as I know there is no need to check/ tick USB debugging for fastboot... It's just for flashtool..
Try re -installing the drivers again manually or let windows search over internet...

Problem solved!

Yes ur rooted!!
Thanks!
I'm currently downloading Cyanogenmod ver 9.1. Hopefully it works! Thank you so much buddy! You have been very helpful! If I get problems on flashing CM9.1, i'll contact you , hehe
One of the reminders on isntalling CM9 is:
Make sure that your Xperia S is already running a rooted firmware, and that it has the ClockworkMod Recovery properly installed.
How do I know I have a rooted firmware? Do I still need to flash FTF file?
By the way, I am getting a boot loop from CWM recovery, I cant go to the homescreen, no option to turn off! It only reboots the CWM.
(Still downloading CM9 as of the moment)

Xperia Ray st18i booting prob ..

err .. since its related to xperia ray I thought of dropping it here .. I'm kinda new here .. sorry if this isn't right but wanted help
Guys , I was on Jelly Sandwich with sirikay's kernel. I had some speed problems with wifi. So I thought of flashing stock ICS Rom ST18i_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf using uniflash.exe and did it. After flashing it didnt restart. So I clicked the power button to restart manually but just got a vibration sound and nothing else .. just the blank screen. So I searched for stuff about unbricking my device since I thought it's bricked. I downloaded this package "FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick.exe" and started flashing the firmwares. So I held down my volumedown button and connected it to the usb port. It says error and that I have to select usb debugging mode and connect again but I can't even start my mobile.
Plz help .. Thanks in Advance

Yes youll need fastboot.exe (ideally you want to download the android sdk). I included fastboot.exe in the attachement.
Copy fastboot.exe to your C:\ drive for example, so it looks like C:\fastboot.exe
You then need to open a command prompt (Start -> type CMD).
Type: CD C:/
Now type: fastboot devices
It should then show a questionmark or something. Go ahead and download a kernel (i assume you know what i mean). Then flash it using this command: fastboot flash boot KERNELNAME.img (where KERNELNAME.img is the name of the kernel)
If you want, you can download a rom, open it with winrar or something and extract the Boot.img (this is the kernel), the command would then be: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then type: fastboot reboot
You should then be able to reboot into recovery (press volume down a couple of times on reboot). There you can flash a rom.
Or you can try Flashtool, if you dont know how to work with command-line. It is easier

Problem On My TF201 - No Option To Boot Into Fastboot - Going Straight Into Recovery

Hello
After long time of reset and installations (4 hours from now) i'm stuck now on a very strange problem.
My Asus Prime tf201 is going straight into TWRP Recovery.
Even when i press the volume down and the power button i can't get into Fastboot screen.
I must get into the Fastboot screen to reset and delete my prime completely.
Even when i insert a small pin into the reset hole and pressed the volume down is doing every time the same thing and takes mw to the Recovery.
My device is also Unlocked.
Is there a way to fix it and be able to have the fast boot screen ?
Or my tablet is dead and i get put it in the garbage

So you can install recovery again.
I recommend one of those from the post#01 from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772093
Push recovery.blob to internal sdcard (/storage/sdcard0) and try to flash using terminal command of TWRP.
Code:
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/recovery.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 [enter]
reboot
If it works, you will see a blue progress bar. Let it finish and boot itself to System. On ASUS screen press power and voldown and you should see the three bootloader icons, RCK flashing. Now you are in fastboot mode. If you see four icons (RCK, Andy, USB and wipe) then you have wrong bootloader.
Report again here.
Thanks
In all the downloads in the link you gave me the file that i have after the unzip process is the recovery.img and it's not a blob file.
where can i find a blob file ?
So I searched in google for recovery blob files for the tf201 and it took me to the TeamWin website :
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/93
and i went down in the page for the "Download - Recovery Image / Fastboot Method (using ICS or JB Asus boot loader):" section and downloaded both ICS and JB blob files and tried to push first the JB and run the commend in the terminal . in both files it looks like it was working and than i reboot (it asks me to install SuperSU and i press No) but even after the restart nothing happened and it takes me to the Teamwin recovery (that in some strange way, the first screen that it shows me is to enter some password ....and i press cancel)
thanks

In all the downloads in the link you gave me the file that i have after the unzip process is the recovery.img and it's not a blob file.
where can i find a blob file ?

The cited teamw.in page is outdated. There TWRP stops at 3.6.0.1 which is (to my experience) an evil one. We are at TWRP 2.8.4.0.
Why don't you take my advice and take that one of here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53139910&postcount=1 ???? Nowadays there is no ICS TWRP anymore.
Best IMO is this one: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712468163
Don't stall at the name TF300T; it's also for TF201 and works with ext4 and f2fs. Either you install it by zip flash or unzip it and get the recovery.img to flash manually.
If you care for a blob file, rename it to recovery.blob. Android terminal commands don't care for file extensions; you need only a .img extension for the zipflash routine of TWRP.
Thanks
will give it a try now

If you are more comfortable with fastboot, you can flash recovery using
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging recovery.img
BTW could you post version of your bootloader (small notice on left upper margin of ASUS screen at bootload).
i tried and it give me an error
I'm uploading now a youtube video for you to see what i am doing - it will take a while and i will be happy if you can pass here tomorrow to see it and what it gives me.
about the bootloader - i think this is the problem, i don't have nothing there , when i turn on the tablet i see only the Asus logo and a message up there that said "device is unlocked"
about the fastboot - i can't run fastboot command because my tablet can't get into fastboot mode - as i told you it boot straight into the recovery

O.k. one of our best devs here has for the 'boot only to recovery' issue an elaborate solution.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54965562&postcount=1
Problems could be connected with wrong bootloader. @lj50036 has somewhere provided some zips with fitting bl/recovery combos (don't find it atm).
Thanks
I will give it a try - hope to have short night.....

So:
1. How many icons on 'fastboot screen' which is bootloader screen.
2. Now you would see bootloader version; report.
3. 'device' command doesn't work on my pc either; fastboots nevertheless. Try
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery recovery.img
and report outcome by the word.
I see 3 icons . I can't remember if I see now the bootloader version ...I'm in my office now. By the way, I sent you a message in hangouts.

AT&T Huawei Ascend XT H1611 Feb27, 2017 update all things Root and TWRP (guide)

Follow each step to install TWRP and root. I will not be responsible if you brick your device. If you follow each step you will have TWRP and root installed on your AT&T Ascend XT H1611
Updated instructions, let me know if anything needs clarifying or needs cleaning up
Step 1: Save all your data before continuing and back up your pics and files to your PC (unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything)
Step 2: Make sure to have "usb debugging" AND "enable OEM unlock" enabled from developer options in the phones settings, if you don't know how to do this here is a video since the instructions are not included in the rootmygalaxy guide below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ikbcfZfmRA Do this first!
Install adb, fastboot and usb drivers to unlock the bootloader as per the link below. Update FEB 27, 2017: when going to the link in the rootmygalaxy guide below that brings you to the Huawei unlock portal use a different browser than chrome since it keeps redirecting you to the EMUI 5.0 page. Use edge or another browser, once logged in it will bring you to the unlock page. If not and it redirects you to the EMUI 5.0 page click on "download" at the top of the page then on the next page below the search bar click on the "unlock bootloader" link which will bring you to the unlock portal. Again not working with chrome, use a different browser
http://rootmygalaxy.net/unlock-bootloader-on-huawei-devices/
By the time you are done Step 2 you should have your bootloader unlocked. **Do not continue any further if you do not**
Step 3: Download the latest TWRP.img file from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6BmerE0MoCOdlU4RHRYT1pmeUE/view
The img must be placed in the same folder you have adb and fastboot so put it there and remember where you put it on your PC.
Step 4: Put the SuperSU zip from https://download.chainfire.eu/1019/S...0103215521.zip on your microSD card and remember where you put it.
Step 5: From windows command line with phone on and USB debugging enabled type (all adb commands below are in bold):
a) adb devices (to make sure you device is recognized)
b) adb shell reboot bootloader
Step 6: Confirm phone goes to FASTBOOT & RESCUE mode.
a) fastboot devices (to make sure you device is recognized)
b) fastboot boot TWRP.img (boots TWRP.img from Step 3)
c) Phone will boot into TWRP. Always select Keep Read Only from first screen every time you go into TWRP.
Peek around a bit if you want to, then use TWRP to backup your stock recovery to external micro SD.
d) Reboot bootloader from inside TWRP to flash this custom recovery image (no adb command this time, you are rebooting to bootloader from TWRP, you will see this option under "reboot" in TWRP).
e) fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img (now flashes TWRP recovery to the phone)
Step 7: After phone reboots, get into TWRP recovery repeating Step 6, a and b or hold power button and volume up button from power off state, then release when you see Huawei logo.
Step 8: From TWRP:
a) Once again, always select Keep Read Only from first screen every time you go into TWRP!
b) Press Settings to adjust display brightness and vibrations settings, then press home button.
c) Wipe - Format Data (Warning: You are about to blow away your files on internal storage - which you should have backed up by now. Read the red text and confirm by typing yes and blue check mark button.
d) Home - Backup - Select all six partitions, then Select Storage - Micro SDCard (very important), OK, then Swipe to Backup. When the backup is finished, Home - Advanced, File Manager, /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/........ and make sure your backup files exist for each of the six partitions.
e) Home - Install then Select Storage - Micro SDCard, find your SuperSU.zip, and flash it. Swipe to confirm Flash. Be patient, as it takes a few minutes.
f) After flashing SuperSU, Wipe Dalvik and Cache, then reboot. Be patient, as it takes a few minutes. My phone rebooted several times. You should have root after your phone boots up and you set it back up!
Step 9: Be sure to make another TWRP backup of System, Data, and Boot after you get root and phone is set up again!
All credit goes to enigma2446, strtrcr_87, yuweng and divineBliss. Hopefully I cleaned the instructions up one step further since there has been a lot of questions and confusion.
Here are the old original instructions/thread for historical purposes:

I'm sure that new ones are better and anyone who uses them, please leave comments/updates so they can be further improved if necessary.
You forgot to note that "enable oem unlock" must be checked under developer options.

Also, should we re-clock bootloader and FRP after rooting? How is that done?
FRP? There is no known way to relock the bootloader. If you figure it out, please post how.

OEM unlock is in the Huawei bootloader unlock instructions. Be kind of redundant mentioning it here.

Added it as a reminder even though that is the case as you pointed out. I know how you feel clsA, 600 views and 2 thanks. It would be nice to see more appreciation to those helping out. The Ascend XT is a good phone at $100-$149 and quite a bit of work has gone into making it into a great phone. Thanks to XDA we will get there.
Let's show some appreciation to those working on this, it takes but a second to hit the "Thanks" button. No donations or money required.
I get a "E: failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)" error when I try to backup my recovery image.

I should do that step right now even though I am on 6C, currently in the process of backing up my stock recovery? Is my stock recovery just "Recovery"? Or should I backup System as well?

One problem with the "rootmygalaxy" instructions. Right after the line, "Boot your Huawei device into bootloader mode using the following command:" I cannot find the next breadcrumb. Where is this "bootloader mode" and how can I has one?

Ok I did see that "fastboot&rescuemode" screen before it says phone locked in green and frp unlock in red underneath. So I use the regular pc command prompt to enter "fastboot oem unlock your-unlock-password"? (of course I used my code) It didnt work. I imagine the "C" drive is not where the command prompt should look. haha im so computer illiterate sorry.

The adb and fastboot commands all should be from the fastboot directory

All I know is I installed the adb setup from the link in this thread but I have no icons for the program nor "adb" in my program file list or in the program file folder of "C" drive. (on my laptop running windows 8.1) here is a pic of what my screen looks like when I hold power and vol-down. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3TVcujYJWema01IVVZaUTlwX0tBS2NxNUYwUmxsVTltQ0I0/view?usp=sharing

Obviously adb seems to be working because you booted to the fast boot and rescue mode
If you type fastboot devices, it should return a result or you do not have fastboot installed.
Under your "local drive" whether it is "C" or something else it should be there. adb.exe and fastboot.exe should be there.
I understand this might be a little off topic, I'm very familiar with Samsung devices, just got this phone a few weeks ago. Got it rooted and Xposed running fine, just curious if anyone here has flashed suhide yet and if it works or soft bricks the phone.
