[Athene] FIX scratched Camera Glass - Moto G4 Plus Accessories

Hey!
Now i tell you guys how to fix a scratched camera glass.
Take a cotton swab and toothpaste and rub it for 5 minutes over the glass. Most of the scratches would be gone.
If it doesn't work, send it to motorola they fix it for free.
(STAND 2018 12:35 Germany) Motorola: "Schäden an der internen Linse werden im Rahmen unseres Kundendienstes repariert, vorausgesetzt, es gibt keine anderen Anzeichen von äußeren Beschädigungen am Gerät."
Peace out

Thanks, but we're aware of this workaround in this thread below yours which is discussed already https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/accessories/rear-camera-lens-replacement-t3472897 and what you said additional, that Motorola fix it for free is only valid if there are scratches on the internal lense.

Thread closed, similar thread already exists.

Orbit 2 rubber ring available

I've long since got rid of my Orbit 2, but one of the rubber rings that fall off the jog wheel turned up in one of my jacket pockets the other day.
If anyone needs one, PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post. I don't want anything for it (assuming the postal address is in the UK), would just be a shame to see it go to waste.
orbit 2 ring
hi
have just sent you a PM re above
Cheers
Hi
Sorry, ring's now gone
hi,i need Orbit 2 rubber ring. do you still have one?
I will buy a rubber ring

Or from where to buy?

Small Problem with HD2 Screen/Housing

hey mates,
for some weeks i recognized, that the glass of my hd2 is pushed a half mm or so into the housing..
generally, it's only at the sides..but thats annoying while scrolling, cause you can feel the edge...
my hd2 is in perfect condition, no scratch or anything else...
my question is: have you got the same "issue"? i can live with it, but if i would know that it would be a warranty case, i would contact htc...
i have no cam here right now, but if you need, i post some photos...
DN41
I remember there were a fair number of reports of the seating not being flush way back around christmas.
Dunno whether anyone got it swapped under warranty though.
so here it is:
i'm wondering, if you all out there have a similiar issue..
i think its worth a try to write the htc costumer support?
DN41
edt: its hard to see but if you look at the right corner, theres no edge...
push!
DN41
push again..
maybe someone who has experienced this?

mines like that all the way round, guess it stops it getting scratched if it lands face down
scratches? ive never seen that before on any hd2..
do you remember that video where the guy tried to scratch the hd2's glass with a blade?
btt: isnt that annoying for you?

you haven't seen mine then, ive scratched it!always keep it cased, had it out to play music and a broom fell on to it, not a major one, but seems a lot less then a knife!no idea how it done it!!
doesnt bother me as I never knew it was a problem, I quite like it recessed to be honest, you know where to stop your finger haha
My hd2 has a similar problem, after returning from screen replacement a few months ago, the new screen is offset from the housing, like near the earpiece I can slide a piece of card etc from the right corner into the middle, no issue though I just live with it at the minute, same as my pressure marks in the middle of the screen haha, all working fine apart from that, will wait until something drastically bad goes wrong then get onto the insurance
mines like that nearly all the way around, the only place its flush is along the bottow near the buttons and in the bottom left corner......
there was an incident where my screen took a pretty hefty knock 2 thirds of the way up on the right hand side, not sure if its coincidence or not but this is where the glass is least in line with the edge of the phone........
doesnt really bother me...... it will when my screen falls out though....
haha. mine is like that too, after like the 6 or 7th time going into service n out, i just cant bothered with sending it in again for something like the alignment lol. guess im like you, want everything perfect, so sent my phone for servicing 5 times in a month because they couldn't do a perfect job each time
hey mates
thanks for your help and feedbacks
i contacted htc and will let you know what they say...
if they say its a warranty case, i'll be happy...if not, i can live with it..
but, as smirnon says, i want everything perfect

this is what they said:

ok..so i ask them again, if they can say me, if this is a warranty case or not..if so, i'll bring it to t-mobile next week...
DN41
you must of jinxed my phone being picked up monday for a screen repair!got a small white spot light in the screen, will see how it comes back!

[Q] Best case for diving (snorkeling)

Hi there!
I am searching for a case which i can use for our next caribic holidays. As there is definitely a big difference between "waterproof" and "diving approved", I would kindly as you guys for your recommendations. Of course this imagined case doesn't have to take deep diving sessions - just for snorkeling activities - let's say <~4m.
Help is really appreciated!

That´s what I thought
I took a trip to Hawaii in January. Before I went I researched waterproof Note 3 cases. None of the ones I found had reviews that would convince me to trust the case with my phone. I could care less about blocking a speaker or using headphones with the case on, I just wanted something to snorkel in.
Hi.
If I need that kind of case i would try to make one and try - for example - shoot pictures by the bluetooth device (you can buy them via web). I've searched for case that i could take for diving and did not find anything. Only thing that comes on my mind is to take flat or normal jar (in normal you can try to hot glue something inside that keeps phone in place), and when go diving run camera app, set screen allways on (widgets) and seal jar and pray that it will stay that way
Check this out..I was also looking for a waterproof case and found this one. Haven't bought it yet...haven't tried it ☺

BTW this one looks better

Hi! Those really do look nice - but it seems like there is absolutely no possibility to interact with the device anymore. Neither via screen nor via a cam Button or something similar...

Touch screen should still work with these cases. You can also get the cheaper waterproof pouches on Amazon that's universal for all phones that should work with Note 2/3/4/5 as well. It too should allow full touch screen function. Some even offer headphones so you can listen to music floating in the water: http://www.amazon.com/Aduro-Waterpr...1-9&keywords=waterproof+pouch+phone+headphone

[Q] Camera glass peeled off?

Hey guys,
Anyone else is having this issue?
Basically the camera is getting it's layers "peeled". What should I do? Change the back cover by myself or send it to Sony?
I called Sony and they've said it would take at least 15 days to repair it and I don't remember if it's still on warranty...
I have the absolutely same thing on my phone.
so do I! It's too much that it can not even focus properly novadays. Any ideas on how to fix it?
If I remember right, this is some kind of uv layer which is sprayed on. Dont think you can repair it.

register to http://www.sonymobile.com/ and add your device by entering the device's imei and it'll tell you that how long is your warranty valid

I think that the camera lens and the back cover are separated from each other, cause there is a steel circle between them

Awesome, my warrant is valid until november!
As for the camera, I think that UV layer is tied to the back cover (take a look at the camera sensor here: http://www.gizmobolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/za12.jpg)

yeah maybe, anyway I recommend you to repair it with the warranty
I experienced the same thing a few days ago, and I managed to overcome it.
using toothpaste (which is fine, not that there is a grain).
1. Apply toothpaste on the glass camera
2. let dry, about 5 minutes.
3. Then wipe with a slightly pressing by using microfiber, then rinse with how wet rag with a little water.
* If still not clean, repeat the above steps back.
I repeat the above steps 2 times, and now the camera glass back clean.
sorry if my english is very bad. LOL

I had the same problem as everyone else. ^^^ This worked perfectly! I did it twice, pressed real hard in a circular motion with a micro fiber cloth after letting it dry for 5 or 6 minutes. Now my lens is shiny and new looking! You rock man. Thanks! :good::good:
Have the same problem, that layer is peeled off but no problem taking photos. Its just a esthetic thing to me.
Si pero eso quitaría la capa protectora de rayos UV no? Como te va con eso? has notado alguna diferencia al enfocar o en la calidad de las fotos o videos? / Yeah but that remove the UV layer, isnt it? how are you doing with that? Have you noticed any difference focusing or with the picture or video quality?

Does replacing lcd fix touch issues ?

So recently my phone has been having touch issues (e.g ghost touches) on the upper left corner of the screen (beside the notch). It's quite annoying when I'm playing some games such as ML as the character would move left due to the ghost touches. Thus, I was thinking of replacing the lcd display in hopes of fixing the ghost touches. So my question to you is, will replacing the lcd display (either by a third party or stock factory lcd display) fix touch issues ? AFAIK the touch issues are hardware related, so replacing it should fix it right ?

I had ghost input issues with Lumia 1020 and replacing the screen fixed it, cause the digitizer and the screen are one whole (or at least separating em isn't efficient enough) so replacing the screen probably is a solution. Here in eastern Europe on the sites I see Poco screens for 30 to 40 bucks, they say they are original but I dunno.

Replacing the screen may solve your problem but if the screen is not genuine, you will end up with worse issues.
my display is from AliExpress after my original has been broken. So far no problems / restrictions (7 months).
Payd ~30 USD with Tools.

Good to hear ! Btw, how do you repair the screen on your own ? I'm scared to do it myself cuz I might accidentally screw up ?
Its Not really hard. You need a Torx T2(or T3, idk) Screwdriver for the 2 Screws at the Button from the Phone. A Hairdryer for the Glue (Mainboard and so on) and a Philipps Screwdriver..
Just Take Look at YouTube there a many How-To Videos.

Update: Just got my screen repaired from the local store (didnt have the courage to change it on my own). Costed me $45. Honestly expected to be more expensive. So far no touch issues
