Thanks for the new alternate custom ROM. As I read in first post, it's based on LOS. So LOS-su-addon should work, right?

EDIT: Screenshots available in OP

Thank you very much for supporting the old SII in both updating the old and new versions together with the security patches, I have a doubt I have been testing many of the ROMS AOSP and CM in order to find some daily use also adding tweaks and kernels you have Any recommendations you have used? I do not want to stay in Sammy roms
the reason why I do not like nougat because there is no support in the kernel modified and I am playing a lot with the BLN, fast charge, different governors and ZRAM

Try DU MM v10.6 or Carbon ROM Nougat (it has 'ondemand' power management by default). I do not play much (actually only 2048), but they can meet your needs. Remember that CarbonROM is rootless and I think it has no way to enable it.

Cannot install gapps it says insufficient space error.
I flashed lachon kernel then lanchon twrp recovery by arnab then updated to latest twrp 3 and then repartitioned with lanchon repit and then wiped everything except internal external storage and then flashed DOT is and gapps

Are you using the pit configuration of 1.5gb system + 6gb data + 512mb preload or something like this? If you do not have or if it is your first installation of a custom rom, you will need it.
Now if it is not, search for error 70 by javix and problem solved!

I was flashing ARM 7.1 pico
Solved it !! Did a clean install.
I dont know what caused the error previously but last time when I was flashing, i wiped cache/dalvik after flashing the rom.
This time I did not wiped, installed the gapps immediately after the rom and it went smoothly.

I used lanchon repit tool to increase system size.
I dont know if wiping can cause any error or not. The error appeared when I wiped cache/dalvik after flashing the rom and then tried flashing gapps.
Repeated everything except the wiping before gapps inatallation error did not show up.

Any battery optimization in this rom? What is the battery timing with general GSM Calls/SMS usage? Any benchmark with WIFI? Appreciate your response. Thanks

Hi timematcher!
When I compile a ROM that it does not have for another device, I usually make the necessary modifications to compile and work well, and they are minimal (include classes, device trees etc). I do not make drastic changes since I'm a beginner in the backend world and in the android development world. Think it has some optimization done by the dotOS team.
Benchmark WiFi? Nope! But you can test on the speedtest website.
While the time of the battery, it is the same thing as Lineage (I do not know the time exact). For general use, between 4h / 4h20. Games: I not tested, because I'm not much fan. In standby mode the battery lasted 4 days. Remember that this can differ because it depends on the life util of battery.

Thanks for the detailed response. I was really looking to understand how long the battery lasts
on standby,
on an regular Call/SMS use and
on constant WIFI connectivity.
I was not asking for browsing or downloading speed on the phone but thanks for answering that as well.
I have i9100 on which I am using LOS 14.x microG. I am always looking forward to a light weight yet effective ROM that i can use as a daily driver.
Thanks for the good work. cheers.

New build is UP!
Info & download via OP.

Thank you for such a small and clean ROM! But, it's laggy. I can't move around interface without some lag. Especially ripple effect on touch. I hope you'll make ROM more resposnive without so much lag

Hi, it's cool you posted a new rom for this device, but the way you mention me as a contributor and you link my own github to this thread is misleading.
Can you please rewrite first post, and credit me for my work, but not "link me" to this project by any sort ? The fact you ask for donations and associate me as a contributor is pretty misleading and I don't want _anyone_ to believe "contributing to dotOS" brings me anything / goes to my pocket.
It's also mandatory to post on Xda that you link your sources in your post. You're just linking to my github, which I am sure is not able to build on your project "as is". It would be nice and respectful for my work, to post _your own_ trees / kernel repo, because once again, the work I pulled on my github has nothing to do with this rom / project. This being said, good luck and have fun, may you contribute back.
@Moyster
First of all: I totally didn't want to be disrespectful in any way, this said, in order to publish dotos on XDA and get official maintenance you have to copy/paste their XDA template which includes the donations tab and all that s h i t. I thought of giving you enough credit by tagging you in the contributors section and by even linking to your github (thought doing something good but seems not).
I'm kinda new to the github environment so I totally don't know how to create a device tree/kernel and all the other stuff...
Again, I didn't want to be disrespectful in any way and if you don't want the link to your github sources I'll remove it but to me doesn't seem so bad.

Add this patch
But only
services/camera/libcameraservice/api1/CameraClient.h
services/camera/libcameraservice/api1/CameraClient.cpp
From it don't modify any Mutex::Autolock lock(mLock);
This will fix everything camera related.

in the images I can see that not even 1 min and already consumed 2% battery, I do not want to imagine when you have whatsapp, twitter, ....
Do you have some configurations to maintain good performance? disable fast dormancy, use a specific theme, some compatible kernel?
On the other hand I like the slim projects I would like to keep it more active than its later version Slim6

I did not make changes to the kernel. The settings are the same as those used in LineageOS.
While on fast consumption, the device was being charged by USB and when I do this, when disconnecting, the percentage of the load goes away fast. The charge lasted normally after a normal charge
I forgot to warn: SamsungDoze has not been implemented in this build, however this is not affecting the battery drain. If there are problems, I'll enable it in the next build. Sorry.

Magisk does not work for S II (and will never according to the author of Magisk).
I would try LOS-su-addon (works for me, but I'm running RR) or another version of supersu (all to be flashed via TWRP).
Thank you, for the new Slim7 @linusdan
A question, How do I get root?
Regards.

Try to enable root with SuperSU. addonSU of the Lineage not work with this ROM
If it does not work, comment so that I can fix and deploy it in the next build.
Guys, I used the weekend to try to enable root mode with superSU in the builds, but I did not succeed. Since I will not have time to investigate why (another year of studies to win the ENEM and the SISU), I will try as soon as I have time, but no promises.
The monthly compilations will be waiting for you
For those who do not know what the ENEM is: it is like the SAT exam, and the SISU is the students' competition x the number of vacancies to enter the university.

Hi. My device is K50a40. I installed this ROM, it went successfully. However, when I reboot it gets stuck. It shows the "Lenovo" logo and doesn't even go to the OS' boot loader. Should I rebrand this? Is it not for this device? Please help me. I tried dozens of ROMs, none worked.

Thanks. I flashed this stock firmware:
K50a40_S433_160909_ROW
But when I try to boot for the first time it says "Initializing" and then "Coming Soon" and turns off. Is this the correct firmware? Could you please send me a link to the compatible stock firmware?
PS: I tried to get around it by installing TWRP after it says "Coming soon" and flashing the ROM but it didn't work either. I think maybe that ROM is not the right version for my device.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I installed the following ROMs. All of them get stuck on the "Lenovo" logo after I flash and reboot and never load.
Resurrection Remix Oreo_v6.0.0(DM).zip
AIM-System-V2.5-20180608-OFFICIAL-aio_otfp-FINAL.zip
DOT-N-v1.2-20180609-aio_otfp-UNOFFICIAL.zip
NitrogenOS_Oreo(DM)v4.zip
omni-8.1.0-20180518-aio_otfp-HOMEMADE.zip
OMNI-8.1-AIO-ROW-BY-AKS12-Feb19-2018.zip
ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20160926-aio_otfp.zip
RR-N-v5.8.5-20170926-aio_otfp-FINAL.zip
The only ROM that kinda works is this one:
CARBON-CR-6.1-CONFIDENTIAL-UNOFFICIAL-aio_otfp-20171230-1522.zip
Maybe I'm using the wrong TWRP file. Could you please send me a link? Thanks.
but many of the features don't work on it. (such as bluetooth, etc.)
Maybe I've done something wrong.
I downloaded the file: K50a40_S433_160909_ROW.7z extracted it, ran this file:
K50a40_S433_160909_ROW\DRV_Tools\MTK_flashtool_v5.1536.00.000\flash_tool.exe
Then hit "scatter-loading" button and selected this file:
K50a40_S433_160909_ROW\SW\target_bin\MT6752_Android_scatter.txt
Checked everything and when finished, booted. Let it initialize, and boot. Then did the same with TWRP, boot to TWRP, selected "Wipe", "Factory Reset" and then flashed these ROMs.
If I missed something please let me know.
Thanks.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Great job. I am not listing any "this or that not working" here as it is marked beta except the "...an internal problem" message on boot-up. Nice to see an alternate to 'shiva's AOSP Extended V6.0 (X2). On a separate note I am glad to see a base ROM without a "forced on" browser. KiU.
I'm not being able to instal the rom, give me "zip treble compatibiliy error!. Invalid zip file format!" error, but i have a treble TWRP =/
Good job on this ROM. Very snappy. Uses performance as CPU governor though so always on highest CPU speed all the time.

leeco1983:
twrp 3.2.3 treble ok, rom ok, and does not start in leeco le max 2, it stays on the google screen.
I had to change the partitions to EXT4, and everything worked out, it is incredible the fluidity of this rom, very fast.

Oh no! AFH!? I shudder. ~561MB. The device may become obsolete by the time I get it at 0 b/s for ages to glimpses of 250kB/s.
