CRB7(ODIN)Official Fw S8 G950F[PDA G950FXXU1CRB7-CSC G950FOXM1CRAP-BL G950FXXU1CRB7] - Samsung Galaxy S8 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Oth

Hi, Guys.
I just installed new OREO Firmware CRB7 [PDA G950FXXU1CRB7-CSC G950FOXM1CRAP-BL G950FXXU1CRB7 (DBT) - Changelist 12993656] and I did exactly the same steps as in the previous CRAP Firmware – HERE ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/oreoodin-official-firmware-galaxy-s8-t3748669 ).
This time I’ve used a new ODIN, v3.12.10.1, and I didn’t absolutely NOTHING different from what I had already done in the previous flash, so there is nothing more to add to what was said earlier, just follow what it has been said, as simple as that.
I'm so sorry no longer available to answer user questions, but understand that I'm just reporting something I just did, without any kind of problems.
Other questions that could be put beyond all that has been said, I could only answer with certainty if I had experienced this same doubt, that is, I would have to reproduce the problem to give the answer, understand?
Has anyone asked if through an update via update.zip could install Recovery TWRP or Root ... I would say yes, but I can not be sure of this because I never did ... it's a matter of trying!
So I leave here the LINK of new firmware, to be installed via ODIN, just like any other firmware to be installed this way ... there are no secrets.
I also leave LINK for Magisk v16.0 (1600), Magisk Manager v5.6.1, Magisk Uninstaller 2018-02-22 and TWRP 3.2.1-0 dreamlte, for anyone who needs this software.
Good Luck to All

Hi. I have not yet installed any custom ROM, just installed TWRP and Magisk. Later I'm going to test some ROMs, but so far everything is perfect, no problem.
I already had a custom ROM before flashing the new firmware, so maybe I had no problems installing the TWRP or Root

Does this work on 950FD?
I'm on 'CRAP' right now.
Thanks

it does not let me flash the twrp, it tells me that only official binaries

Because phone is on Prenormal Status, no? If so, you may attend 7 days with phone ON, without restart them (I think [emoji848]).

Hi.
File to download is not ROM but the Official Stock Firmware for the S8 G950F.
Now, new ODIN with has .lz4 file support, so you can download Official Stock Firmware directly from SamMobile and flash this on your S8 G950F (or other) with the new ODIN.
I leave here LINKs for SamMobile G950F Firmware and ODIN with support for .lz4 files
ODIN (.lz4 support) - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569958654

hello ... after installing without any problem I wanted to install TWRP and I get this message in download mode 'Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed' ... until here comes, I think I'll have to wait a week for it to be unlock ...
I also have a question ... then I can install TWRP, root, magisk, viperfx, etc. ??
I appreciate your advice and experiences in this regard ... or if you know of any solution to avoid having to wait. Thank you.

Yes, same problem.

if I have this message in download mode --- 'Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed' after having installed official CRB7 --- can I flash official AQL5 ROM to go back to version 7 and thus be able to install TWRP ??
Please advise before doing so, as I understand in the state that is today, I must wait a week to install something in download mode ... is it correct?
If I make a mistake without asking, I could be without a phone for a week and I would have to commit suicide ... hahaha
Thank you.

Well I just have to thank the help that trocopassu gave to me to install the rom, was of extreme importance

To flash the latest version of CM, be sureto have updated your phone officially to Stock Marshmallow. If not latest CM will not flash. You an error.
I'm guessing your phone is Indian version? Anyways go to the huawei website of your country. Download the marshmallow software file there and upgrade it through force update like i recommended here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/gr5-help-t3443573
I think you should go into your current custom recovery first and wipe data/factory reset. So u don't get bootloop as a result of CM files being on board currently.
The firmware in the link above is not for your country/device but for Egypt KII-L21CUST185.
So get the correct file for your device for your country's huawei website as mentioned above.
After flashing successfully, you have to flash custom recovery, again. Remember the whole 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' process then flash SuperSU in custom recovery to root? Yeah do that.
Now you can flash latest CM build again. Cheers!
Note: If your country doesn't have marshmallow (6.0.1) available, don't bother with the process as latest CM build will not flash.

Is it possible to update to 6.0.1 from 5.1.1

Hello everyone,
Firstly, I would like to apologize if this question has been answered before, I simply cannot find the answer for it. So I am currently rooted on 5.1.1 with, (according to the About Device section of my phone)
Kernel version:
3.10.61-S6_Unikernel_v9-0000initial
[email protected] #1
Thu Sep 10 19:10:19 BST 2015
Build Number: XtreStoLite Deo Mod v.2.4 - XXU3COI9
According to my model number, it says my model number is SM-G925K, but my original build number was SM-G925W8.
Also, I am using TWRP recovery
So like I have started in the title, I would like to update to 6.0.1 stock, and then root it and install a custom rom. I have bought my phone from Rogers, and am on a 2 year contract with them.
I am COMPLETE noob when it comes to this, so anything to help is appreciated, I recently switched from iPhone to Android
EDIT #1: I am only asking this question because my carrier has not rolled out the firmware yet, and I am not on stock firmware anymore so I was wondering if it was possible to update, I don't want to end up with a bricked device

Okay so instead of updating via smartswitch, I downloaded the firmware via a website (not sure if I am able to mention it here, but I won't anyway) for my model (SM-G925W8) and flashed it via Odin. Then I rooted via CF-AutoRoot by Chainfire, and am currently installing Xtrestolite 3.3.1

SELinux is a set of kernel modifications and user-space tools
u dont need custom kernel as my opinion
custom kernels with comes Permissive
and official kernels comes with enforcing

I don't know if this is significant, but the reason I asked about SELinux is because when I open TWRP manager and it tells me my TWRP version, it says Please set SELinux to Permissive in order to view this

Bricked Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge International version (SM-G825F)

I need help to unbrick my phone. Here are the details of my phone and things I did before it became useless.
- Version: Updated version of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Marshmallow Android 6.0.
- replaced its recovery with TWRP via odin (3.10.6)
- install a ROM with the use of TWRP recovery.
- After rooting my phone and flashing a new rom via TWRP, I can't use my phone's physical buttons.
I also tried full-wipe installation of Custom rom and I got the same issue. I tried restoring it to a stock rom, but it always says "Fail".
Do you guys have any suggestions how can I fix my phone?
Which rom did you flash?
What point in odin does it fail?
I take it you have G925F? Not G8.
Whats your region and what firmware did you try to flash (stock)

Thank you for your reply. Here are my answers:
-I flashed "CarHDRom" to my phone using TWRP 3.0.
- Yes, 825F is just a typo, G925F is the correct model name. I double checked it in the box.
- Philippines, and I already downloaded the firmware that you suggested in another post about softbricked g925F (G925FXXU3DPAD_G925FOXA3DPAD_XEU).

I suggest TWRP. Make a full Nandroid back up before just incase. But if anything goes wrong you can just flash that stock back to fix.
I would root first with cf autoroot.
Then flash your ROM.
Do a full wife when rom installer asks as this is safest way.
If it bootloops just wait.
Glad i can help
Well it looks like CarHDRom is not compatible with my phone. Tried flashing it twice and I waited for 30mins of booting but it doesn't continue.

[11/10] [G950F] [ROM] [8.0] TWRP Flashable OREO BETA 2

So, some of you might have noticed that I made some thread in General section, for Oreo TWRP Backup.
Some people do not like this idea, therefore I created a TWRP flash-able .zip for that.
I recommend a full wipe, or even a format data before flashing this.
Download the 3 zips, flash in order, boot, enjoy.
The files are stamped with a number, so you know what to flash in which order. Easy right ?
There is no root. I've heard SuperSU works flawlessly, but did not try as I am fine without it.

IS there any custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy j4 SM-j400M?

Hello! I've been trying to install a custom ROM on my SM-J400M for a while now and none worked, recently i tried installing Magisk on it and now it is in a bootloop . Is there any custom ROM compatible with my device? Or it is impossible to install a custom ROM on it? At the moment it seems like it is not even rootable...
Also the version of TWRP that i installed on my device says that it is an SM-J400F instead of a SM-J400M which is the actuall name of the model. Is that a problem? If so please tell me how to unistall it, i wasnt able to find any way to uninstal TWRP on a soft-bricked phone.

Is There Any Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy J4?
YES!
Although, this is not specific Custom ROM for this device. This ROM is GSI (Generic System Image), and J4 is greatly support it! (Because it has Android Oreo out-of-box)
How to install it?
Easy, install TWRP from TwrpBuilder's Github, flash GSI Image as usual, flash magisk (if bootloop, flash this might help), and done!
Please note that this is GSI, bugs are widely open. But, as far as I use J4, the only bug I feel are Camera and MTP (fixed by using custom kernel)
Edit: For your TWRP, which version you install?

Thanks for the reply!
I recently discovered that my Samsung J4 is carrier locked so i don't think it is possible to flash a custom ROM in it...
I really tried many things since this post but in the end it would always get stuck in a boot loop and i would have to flash the official firmware in it to restore it.
What TWRP version did i use?
I honestly don't remember but it probably was a unofficial TWRP 3.2.3 or something similar, not sure if it was unofficial or not but it seemed to work...
Also, how would i go around getting a custom kernel to use on the device that would fix those problems?
Again, thanks for replying!

I use TWRP 3.2, and flashed MY builded custom kernel (Only for GSI!) https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j/development/kernel-redline-kernel-samsung-galaxy-j4-t4188199/
You need to update to Android 10 Stock then flash the A64 A/B GSI. And remember to flash dm verity disabler then flash Magisk. Magisk is important too.
