Root after Getting official Oreo Update - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Plz help me to overcome this error. I have: RNE-L21C185B142 Custom Version: CUSTC185D001
Today I updated to Official Oreo from system update. Now it is: RNE-L21 8.0.0.310 (C185)
Then tried to use a recovery and Super SU zip
(2 zips tried one from elemental ROM for 8.0 and other from Super SU web site)
Both show same error as in following screenshots, plz help if there is a proper Oreo TWRP and Super SU that works.
1 more point is, I never got data folder back up whenever I tried to take a backup from TWRP
(both in nougat and after oreo update), tried a lot of methods discussed already, I would still get
createFork() error, if I uncheck data then I can take backup.

Kernel ROOT in 5.1.1 - Selinux Permissive - FOR N910F

THIS kernel is for N910F
here's a kernel, compiled from N910F sources XXU1COI3, with XXU1COI3 Ramdisk
It has a single modification, in order to boot the 910F with root, in new firmware 5.1.1.
Everything else is a stock kernel.
Fixed the warning "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" on boot
my advice is, flash this kernel, and next, root your phone with your preferred method
enjoy:
Mod edit: No longer supported, link removed.
flash it in recovery
To install Root:

The auto root option doesn`t work on 5.1.1
Best thing to do seems to be flashing latest TWRP, flash the kernel within TWRP and use the root option that TWRP offers.

- Flash within TWRP the Kernel (ZIP) posted in this thread

There is a pretty amazing kernel from the Echoe rom people. Sign up to the forum to get access. I tried the above method but even after TWRP 'rooted' the rom, supersu wasn't able to function. Downloaded from playstore and then all was right.

Stock B390 keep TWRP

Hi here is the full B390 update modified to keep TWRP ( v3.02 gimini version)

i can go back to the B380 (the PLK-AL10 B380) rom and everything work, and using the "MiUi for Honor 7 by WBT" works fine

I'm using TWRP 3.0 by Jemmini

Custom Kernel for the A20 (Android 9 with U2 bootloader)

@Agrim720 has developed a super kernel for the Galaxy A20
For phones running a GSI with the U2 bootloader (June 2019 Firmware)
1. Download the new zimage and hktweaks from here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81010583&postcount=144
2. Follow my installation instructions here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81013993&postcount=145
The quick way is to download and unzip my new boot.img and install it from TWRP.
View attachment boot.zip
Just have your original patched boot.img ready just in case. If things go wrong, you just need to install your boot.img to get back to where you were.
For phones with the U3-U4 bootloader (late Oct - Nov 2019) @Agrim720 has developed his ripper kernel here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/development/kernel-ripper-kernel-v1-0-t4020627
The stock kernel allocates 2 core at 1.56GHz and 6 cores at 1.352GHz
The super kernel increases the CPU speeds to 2 cores at 2.184GHz and 6 at 1.586GHz
If you want to see the highest frequencies, you need to use hktweaks to set the minimum frequencies to equal the maximum frequencies.
If you don't use hktweaks, it will generally restrict itself to 1.768GHz and 1.482GHz

Hi @Deluriane
You do NOT need GSI. It will work on any firmware now.
I just did a full Root / Twrp on the latest stock firmware from NOV. [ A205GUBU4ASK2 ] and it worked perfectly.
Just follow the correct guide for U4 and use the correct boot.img (compressed to a tar) and it WILL work :good:
Try it and let us know. :cyclops:

General [SHARED] Pixel Experience Plus v11

To be claim, i am NOT the maintianer.
Today, i want to share a GSI for every use of this phone and try to give everyone the lightest feeling of system to match the weight of this phone. So after hunders of fastboot flash, i succeesfully boot in system after flash, hope everyone can try and if any issue, you can commit this thread or pull a issue to this gsi github.
CLICK Guthub TO DOWNLOAD the "PixelExperience_Plus_arm-ab-11.0-xxxxxxxx-UNOFFICIAL.img.xz"
Three steps to flash:
1,Backup all your data and unzip the file you downloaded from github BTW.
2,If you want to get Magisk, flash Magisk before you flash PE. Without flash new bootimg, Magisk will be permanent.(option)
2,connect to computer and use command <adb reboot fastboot> or press vol- and power to rebbot to the fastboot mode.
3,use command<fastboot flash system xxx.img> to flash PEPlus, <fastboot reboot> to boot into system.
BTW, I am the people who are not native speakers of English, so if i use some wrong word, just let it go if didn't confuse you.
Hope you success.
If feedback of this rom is good, i will base on it to maintain the ROM that only for Mi11 Lite.
Thanks!

You just need to download the ab verison and flash it by the command that i provide. If you need to flash magisk, i sugguest you patch the boot.img before you flash, and after the first boot you go to fastboot again to flash boot_ab that patched boot.img.

I did finding a way to get R/W according to patch the ROM without TWRP
ZeroSherd said:
You just need to download the ab verison and flash it by the command that i provide. If you need to flash magisk, i sugguest you patch the boot.img before you flash, and after the first boot you go to fastboot again to flash boot_ab that patched boot.img.

I think you can use ADB command or software to disable those GAPPS.
How do I backup the data if there is no custom recovery available?

I highly recommand the TitaniumBackup if you got ROOT, or use MIUI backup which inside the settings.
Screenshot,feedback from the rom??
I would expect more interest for the first custom rom on this device
What's the way to go back to stock if got issues on PE???
Thanks

Question poco x3 GT root

I'm trying to install Magisk because the poco x3 GT has arrived and I was able to unlock it.
After fastbooting the img file created by Magisk, it becomes a boot loop.
I've succeeded with the same procedure on Mi9, so I don't think it's wrong, but if I try again, the result is the same.
MIUI is not 12.5.2.
If anyone has succeeded, please give me some advice.
I wish someone could make a trwp for chopin
I can root with this boot. My MIUI version is China development version 21.8.13. The new MIUI version may not be valid. You can try it

Thank you very much.
I'm using the global version 12.5.2, but I'll give it a try.
You may also need this file

first,fastboot boot.img, then,fastboot vbmeta.img. Refer to poco m3 pro's method
Of course, it may also be caused by different versions of MIUI system

I confirmed the poco m3 pro's method.
One thing to check, do you patch this boot file with magisk and then fastboot? Or can it be used as it is?

I connected poco to a PC in fastboot mode, executed a batch file, and entered the number 9 from the menu screen, but the screen closes and exits. If anyone has any problems, please let me know.

Maybe it's a driver problem. I'm not sure. This is another tool you can try.
