Need help with TMO APN settings - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Guys - thought I had the APN settings figured out, but apparently not.
What happens is when I get a MMS (pic, vcard) type text message, it just says downloading and never comes through. However, if I reset the phone, it works temporarily, and then stops. (goes back to downloading)
I've been back on my X2 in the meantime. If anyone can share their APN settings, please do.
I know there are a ton of webpages that give the settings and I have tried several to no avail.
I use T-Mobile.
Thanks

In case anyone has the same problem - a factory reset solved the issue!

MMS Issues

After trying numerous roms, settings, and different versions of arcsoft I am still getting this error when I receive a mms message:
"Dialed: #777
The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings."
The only way I can see the mms is to dismiss this message, open the mms, and then click on "Download" and wait for it to download. This really has me frustrated. If anyone can get this figured out it would be great.
Please be aware that I have CricKet for a carrier, I have followed the walkthrough step by step, and these settings worked perfectly for my apache, vogue, and mogul.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Are you able to get to the internet fine? Almost sounds like a Connection profile issue to me.
Yes, the internet connects up just fine. I don't know what the deal is. I thought it might be either an epst setting or something in the registry not being set right, but at this point I am not quite sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated seeing as how I have searched multiple forums and on the internet in general and can't find any info on this error that applies to my phone whatsoever.
I am suprised that there hasn't been someone that has come across this error yet. I am at a loss and am about to sell this phone and go back to the vogue.
I figured someone here would have an idea. This is a great forum for information and all so I figured that this would be the place to try to get an idea of why this is happening. If anyone has an idea or can figure this out please let me know, otherwise I am about to sell this phone and go back to the vogue.

[Q] X10 update to 2.3.3 losing SMS

I updates my phone to the stock 2.3.3. I also rooted it. Everything's working fine except for sms. I downloaded the settings from SE, doesn't work.
I tried the *#*#4636#*#* and put your gateway number in and nothing. The update button turns grey and nothing happens.
I use Chomp and there are no settings in Chomp for setting the gateway number.
I'm fresh out of ideas. Any suggestions?

did you backup data and restore it? or?
The problem is it never asked me about the sms settings when I installed the rom. So to restore it would be to cost myself a lot of time.
Does anybody else have any other ideas as to what might be going on
... manually enter in your APN settings.
Automatic download of settings doesn't always work.
Just did that and still nothing.
Just curious if anybody else had any other ideas
Did you try contacting with your network operator? They may help config the right APN for your device
I did and AT&T gave me the gateway number and nothing more.
did you back up your existing data? because when you updated, sony ericsson warned you about this... the only thing i can suggest is that you downgrade (to stock 2.1) and try to restore device through google backup... best of luck...
Sent from my X10 using XDA App
Just got off the phone with AT&T to verify all my settings are correct. The one thing I am seeing is a problem i9s when I go into Phone Info in the *#*#4636#*#* is on my phone when I hit refresh it comes up blank and on my coworkers it comes up with the number. When I type in the number surrounded in quotes and hit update the update button turns grey and doesn't actually update. Has anybody else had this issue?
I ended up figuring the issue out. To root the stock 2.3.3 I ended up having to follow this thread's advice http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196421
The problem is that by doing this it looses the gateway number and prevents the phone from being updated with the correct gateway. So I ended up downgrading to 2.1, rooting and upgrading to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091526 and it works perfect.

[SOLVED]No multimedia msgs - phone problem??

So, this morning was the first day of school for my kids. Of course I snap several photos then go to txt the pictures to the grandparents. And the phone goes to send..... and then just sits there.... for ages. Then eventually errors out. Odd, but you know, at&t is kind of crap so I figure I'll try it when I get to work. A few mins later I receive a picture msg from my sister and I cannot open that either.
Anyway, it looks like I cannot send or receive multimedia messages now. After chatting with the at&t support person for what seemed like hours, he says the problem is likely with my phone and i need to do a warranty replacement.
I am thinking that's a ROM bug/issue, right? Would doing a master reset possibly fix this? Has anyone else had this problem? (I'm running the at&t official GB ROM, I did not do the OTA update though. I did the full pudding/root pre-install load.
Mmm, I don't how it is named in English, but you should have something called "data management" in the setting.
In there there a 2 menus : in the first "data stream control" (or something like that, again I have a French rom) you should deactivate it or MMS can not been sent/received.
At least that was the case for me. This also prevent from doanloading app with only 3g, you must have wifi.
This is quite annoying because I can't control the data AND send MMS but wel... maybe there is another workaround.
Edit : I'm in 2.2.2, I don't know if that will be the same in 2.3.4.
You need to have the correct APN settings. Check in your Mobile Network options.
Who is your service provider?
Hot damn rush! I had changed my APN to a custom one a while ago (just apn defined as 'phone' nothing else set.) I changed it back to the default HSDPA and la-da!
I wonder why that custom APN stopped working?
THANK YOU!
Glad you have it working now, enjoy.

At&t users with galaxy s2 international, mms problem need help please....

I am in the US and have a international galaxy s2 on AT&T...My phone is fully rooted, and I am currently running Batista70 FOXHOUD EDITION 2.1 but i cant seem to get my mms on a consistant basis....I have tried several roms so I am pretty sure it isnt that, I can send mms and have a great 3g signal but most of the time I cant recieve my mms...I can browse the internet and download from the market just fine but there again I cant seem to get the mms to recieve...It seems like on a fresh rom install i get the mms fine but then after a day or so I go back to not being able to recieve one at all...I have tried different apn settings and have made sure I am on the right AT&T data plan (HSDPPB) as mentioned in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109983) and I still cant get anything consistant on RECIEVING! It has really been agravating and I would love to figure out what I can do to get this working right, I dont know if it is the modem software??? Is it my apn settings??? I have tried different things and still nothing so any help would greatly be apprecitated and I have noticed alot of other people in threads seem to be having this problem so if we can figure it out I would love to make a thread to help out others...thanks in advance...
did you talk to your provider, they may have adjust or refresh your account settings from their end.
That's very weird actually, i used to have issues sending MMS but i never had any issues receiving them.

i have talked to at&t and finally got them to change my account and settings so I know for 100% that I am on the right rate plan and settings......
I to was having problems with MMS on ATT but my problem was sending them not receiving though. After I was sure I had the correct apn setting a customer services specialist had me do this. Try opening your phone dial pad and entering *5005*7672*+13123149810# then the green phone button. This is suppose to reset your sms/mms setting back with the network. Long and behold it fixed my problem of sending mms.
just to double check something - are you leaving your data (edge or 3g) enabled? disabling the phone's data connection will prevent mms from coming through.

Can't send or receive MMS after wipe - "Generic Network Failure"

Recently wiped and started from scratch on Warmrom due to a messed up backup and suddenly I'm unable to send or receive any MMS messages.
Out of pretty much nowhere, I'm suddenly getting "Download of message unsuccessful - Generic network failure" when I try to download picture messages and "Failed to send after multiple attempts - generic network failure" when I try to send.
I haven't installed anything that would mess with my APN settings or MMS settings in general.
I've tried multiple fixes including clearing the data for my phone's MMS app as well as checking my APN settings for errors and problems with APN Backup and Restore - I couldn't find anything way out of the ordinary. I've also tried PRL and profile updates multiple times from settings.
Any ideas?
Edit: Apparently the "proxy" was stuck on from when I was on WIFI. I thought I messed with it, but apparently the settings didn't stick properly. Re-edited them and rebooted and messages are at least coming in now, but I'm still getting the generic error when I try to send or receive MMS.
Edit2: Also tried wiping MMS settings via Titanium. No go.
Edit3: Just restored a backup I made a month ago, back when my MMS messages were working. Again, no go. No freaking idea what could be going on.

How would I go about updating my profile manually aside from "System update > Update Profile"?
I've already used that method. Is there another way to do it that is more likely to stick? I know there's a technique involving one of the hidden setup screens, is that what you're talking about?
Edit: Called Sprint, they said they reset remotely and then told me to hit ##3282# and reset my profile. I need to install that epst.apk that allows for the process, so I'll come back here if it works.
Ok weird. No matter what I do, I can't get the data menu to come up, even with alternate EPST. No freaking idea what is going on. Hopefully whatever the sprint rep did will fix it in time.
Final edit: Figured it out. Apparently it was just a series of unfortunate events that led to me having screwed up messaging. The newest nightly of Warm seems to have a problem getting to the data screen even with the old EPST.apk, so I had to revert back to a Nandroid I made early December, reset my profile from there, and upgrade to the current version again after that to get my text messages working properly again.
