Venue 8 3830 not receiving OTA update after reflash - Dell Venue

Well I goofed up and soft-bricked my tablet. I managed to use the flash tool from Dell and reflash it to Jelly Bean. I have been checking for OTA updates and it says my system is up to date. I was running 4.4.2 before I had to reflash it. It is fully stock now and I have the zip package for the rooted OTA package that can be loaded and installed through fastboot, I think it is 4.3 however. Is it still possible to receive Software updates over the internet still on these?
EDIT: I just flashed it with the Venue_8_WiFi_KK4.4.2v1.33_FLASHPKG. I still don't know why it wouldn't just update on its own but this thread, I guess, could be marked as solved if possible.

Can't get OTA update

I had a rooted photon and after numerous OTA updates to MR7 I decided to stock reset and tried flashing the CM5 release. I kept getting the snowy screen issue, so I wiped the phone with Android Recovery and managed to get to a working install. My problem is that the phone is on 45.2.5 and every time I manually push for an update, I am told the phone is up to date.
Are there any ways of manually applying the update, or flashing back to an older release and perhaps trying again? atm I have an unrooted 2.5 version.
EDIT: btw I am running Linux.
ota issues
I'm getting that same problem. I was rooted and unlocked then I re-locked my phone back to stock to get the ota but it keeps telling me I'm update. I'm trying to update to 4.5.7 but it want push the ota to my phone.

[Q] [GSM/EU]Software update failed

Hi guys... hope that this post reads also someone from development. If it should be placed there, please move it.
So, here is my problem:
I`m having rooted Razr and OTA update comes to my region. I downloaded update and tried to update, but it failed. I didn't uninstall any of bloatware, just frozen it, but even after unfreezing it won't do update as well. I red some manuals and so on, so i removed bootstrap recovery also but still the same. Looks, that I need to re-install original FW to make it working - right?
I checked possibilities and there are not too many. RAZR utility 1.6 it is not possible download anywhere - links are mostly broken and 1.7 is for ICS only, so only options is using of RSDLite. I found following "tutorial" about RSDLite. I'm almost sure, that after update there wouldn't be possibility to update for a while, so I kept original downloaded OTA update ZIP, but do not know what to do with.
Could somebody say, if it is correct way how to update to ICS? Do I really needs to reflash original ROM and than try to update it to ICS via OTA? Is there some easy way to update if I have downloaded OTA update ZIP?
Some ideas?
Sorry for English...

[Q] Rooted Sam.10.1 Tablet (non-Rom) can't install official ICS update without error.

My tablet is rooted, but I never bothered with ROMS in the past. I received notice there was a firmware update.
"The update package was successfully received. During install procedure...etc,etc... Backup data and visit samsung website. Install Now?"
When I click the install button, it force closes with an error message:
"The application software update (process com. wssyncmldm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
Is this being caused because the tablet is rooted? Is there a way for me to get the official update to work without having to install a ROM through CWM?
Tablet specs:
Model Number: GT-P7510
Android version 3.2
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.3
[email protected] #1
Build number: HTJ85B.UEKMP P7510UEKMP
I'm currently at work and do not have a way to connect the tablet to a computer so I'm hoping I can get this done through the normal channel.
Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.

Did you take a Nandroid backup of your unrooted device before rooting it? If so you should be able to just back up your current data, then restore your Nandroid, and run the update.
If you don't have a backup, you'd likely have to flash the stock firmware for your device with Odin (go to Sammobile.com to get it). That will remove root. Then the OTA should be fine. While I don't think just being rooted may necessarily prevent an OTA, it is also likely that it may. Back up your data before you flash of course.
I'm pretty sure, from what I've read, that a rooted device won't update (but not 100% sure).
You can flash to the official version with Odin which would remove root.
Guessing you're trying to update from HC to ICS?
If so, download the official version from Sammobile, flash it with Odin.
I think it's also highly recommended to do a factory reset after you flash, and then do the wipe data options.
This assures you are back to factory stock.
Last time I did it I flashed back from rooted ICS to HC 3.2, flashed ICS, and did the reset/wipes three times each. Then rooted again.
I followed a guide posted here, and all went well.
If Samsung gives us another update for the Tab 10.1, be it for bug fixes or for Jelly Bean, I'm pretty sure I'd have to re-flash the stock ICS do the wipes etc. in order to update again.
Here's the guide I used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971
u will brick ur tab if u update officially after rooting ....Odin back to stock and try updating ......and to say frankly honeycomb was far better and had good battery backup than ics
Why dont you just Install ICS from SamFirmware or something...
Is it necessary to update your tab from Official Samsung Server?
If you want to upgrade from samsung badly
unroot your tab
do factory reset and just clean everything and then it might be installed without error idk...
you will need to be on an unrooted stock rom and recovery to receive the official update. is this the verizon version?

[Q] Rejected 4.4.2 upgrade, now what happens?

Hi, I have a short question for a weird situation.
I was running Android 4.4, rooted and CWM installed. Got a notification for 4.4.2 update being ready (like, a week after upgrading to 4.4), and tapped it. Phone reboots into debug mode to install it, but then CWM starts yelling at me saying this zip I'm trying to install is unsigned.
So I stop the upgrade. Phone reboots back into Android 4.4 and I don't get the update notification icon again.
Two questions:
- will I get the update prompt again? if not, can I do it manually while keeping all my stuff like happened on the 4.4 upgrade?
- is the Android 4.4.2 update really unsigned? is there a danger in accepting it?
I'm not sure what to do now since I didn't have CWM flashed when I did the upgrade to 4.4, which went completely smooth.
OK so I got the upgrade notification again today. I updated and everything's fine. So yes, the Android 4.4.2 update was unsigned (or CWM couldn't verify it) and yes, your device will get the update again if you refuse it.
Now to reflash CWM so I can reroot it...

Can't update firmware, please help

Hi all,
I'm trying to update firmware on my Droid DNA. Currently I have firmware version 2.08.605.1, the latest before the last OTA update. Now i want to use RUU to try to update to version 3.06.605.4. It fails with error that I got wrong RUU, but I'm positive it is a correct one, because it shows firmware version. OTA updates are not working, showing me no updates. However, under Software update -> Status I see that the update was rejected by user some time ago. As far as I know there must be an option to install rejected updates, but it simply isn't there. Not sure what to do next. Please, help.

Nevermind now, I resolved the issue by first gaining s-off and then using the alternative method for firmware flash by using adb and fastboot in cle that can be found here on forums easily (latest ota for DNA).
