youtube and google play not working

Hi all,
I am constantly receiving google play and youtube errors.
I am unable to load google play as it displays no connection, even though I have, and fast, internet connection.
When trying to play youtube videos it displays error 401 on any video.
Is anybody else having these issues? isit a national issue or just me? I am running kitkat 4.4.2 on my LG G2 d802 UK.
Thanks for replies.
P.S please don't tell me to reboot my phone.. i have already tried :silly:

[Q] Play Store App Demo Videos Don't Play

On my Nexus 9, in the Google Play Store, when I try to watch the demo video for any app, it will only play about 1 second of the video. Anyone else have this problem? Please reply either way. I would like to know if its working for anyone else.
Thanks!
Same for me. I first thought it was WiFi sucking, but its too consistent, its a bug on n9, works fine on my nexus 5.
Thanks. I thought the same thing and I have also tested on the same WiFi with my Nexus 5, both running Android 5.0.1 and it works on Nexus 5. Anyone know if this has been reported?
Ditto. Nexus 7 on Lollipop. Same issue. Tried all the normal debugging methods with the play store and video players.

Ditto on Nexus 9 here also.
I have the issue on my Shield Tablet running 5.0.1
I went into the developer options and unticked use Nuplayer, rebooted, that got it working for a while before it stopped again.
Ticking and unticking that box now has no effect.
Nexus 9 on 5.0.1
I see I am not the only one that has this issue. I did notice that if you hit the settings icon lower right corner of the screen. You have an option to select quality which doesn't seem to stick. But it also has a youtube link that if you tap, takes you to the youtube app and plays the video just fine through the youtube app itself.
Also when listening to music through the google play music app, when it has an option to play the music video, the same thing happens .
I have tried messing with the NuPlayer and AwesomePlayer, rebooting etc. and can only get 1 video to play before its back to not playing again.
I saw that a similar issue was reported to google where no videos could be played but this seems different? Can anyone confirm if its the same or different? and/or if google is working on a fix?
Exact same issue here on Nexus 9. Videos play for about half a second then stop. This happens in Google Play store previews, and Google Music videos. I have tried everything, including restarts, clearing cache, deleting/reinstalling all related apps, adjusting Nuplayer setting, and even factory reset. My Nexus 5 has no problems, so it's clearly a Nexus 9 bug. I tried contacting Google and they gave me the typical 'turn your tablet off by holding the power button for a whooooole 2 seconds....' response. I'm a long time Nexus fan, but I do get tired of these bugs.
Anyone found a solution?
It's not just a Nexus 9 problem, I'd already posted it doesn't work on my Shield tablet and I upgraded my old N7 2012 to 5.0.2 yesterday and it doesn't work on that either.
I don't think there is any solution sadly.
Just uninstall latest youtube update from playstore and it will work fine again.
Stupid google didn't fix this issue yet.
Wow, uninstalling youtube updates actually did work! Thanks!
Worked for me too, thank you
Yup Really puzzles me why google didn't fix this yet.
My back cover was also flexing a bit around middle and upper right (when looking from the back side). That was a pretty easy fix. Now its solid as a rock. If anyone has that problem I could upload a fix on youtube.
Besides above problems, I absolutely love this device.. Imo it's hand down the best android tablet to date, despite these flaws.
If you upgrade to YouTube v10, this will also fox the problem.
If you don't see the update in the Play Store you can download it from APK Mirror.

Yes, I can confirm this. Installed latest YouTube update from the Play Store (10.03), now demo videos play fine.

Tablet z issue with Google play movies..

I updated to Lollipop 5.02 and everything went smoothly..
Only issue I have experienced is with Google play movies..
When streaming the movies all works as it should however when I download the movies to my Tablet Z for offline playback I experience sound dropouts and video lockups for several seconds through out the movie making movie viewing impossible...
I have tried clearing the cache in google play as well as doing a factory reset of my tablet and reinstalling Google play all to no avail.....
All downloaded Vudu and Disney movies work perfectly, its only google play that the issue arises...It worked perfectly in Kit Kat..
All my other devices running 5.02 have no issue with Google play just the Tablet Z...
Any ideas on what I can do....
I've had the same exact experience. did you ever find a solution?

Nope...Still suffers from lockups and audio dropouts...Very frustraiting...
Vudu Works perfectly...And my Samsung S6 with lollipop 5.02 has no problem with Google play movies...
Problem has to be with the Sony upgrade....
It never had a issue with Kit Kat..

Did you try a factory reset, to see if it cleared up the issue? I haven't tried that yet but if you did it and had same result, then I'm not going to waste my time.

Play Videos on Youtube

Hello guys,
Maybe someone got the same issue like me.
I want to Play Videos from YouTube, yes it works at first start, can Play 4-5 Videos before the Play issue stops my current track.
Then a small text is written: We found a Problem, so we cant Play that Video. that appears everytime with 2nd app start and goes until i reinstall the app. This bug Comes with 5.1.1 or 5.0.2. I still don't know if i can fix that, or something is just not clear.
Hope anyone can give more Information.
Yeah. That's a classical problem of lollipop. Until now we have to reboot the device to make it work back again.

Hello
I have the same problem, uninstall first youtube but the problem persisted, only now restarting can continue watching videos

I've had this problem since 5.0.2 and it's really annoying.. Does anyone NOT have this problem? Or is this only because of some specific device issue or some other reason..

[SOLVED] Google Play Movies & TV

Is anyone else having issues streaming with Google Play Movies & TV? I have the Mate 10 Pro and playing movies stutters every 5 seconds or so. I've also noticed the phone can reboot sporadically. Tried to watch a movie the other day and it rebooted 5 times.
Only in Play Movies & TV, all other streaming services are fine. Also, this issue persists even if the movie has been downloaded so it's not a bandwidth issue.
Cheers,
Kris
Update:
Huawei just pushed an update which included improvements to video playback in the changelog. After installing it, I no longer have issues with Google Play Movies.
Yes. I got my Mate 10 (not pro) today and have exactly the same issue. Any ideas?

I spent some with Google support yesterday. Tried all of their solutions including playing movies in the YouTube app as an alternative and nothing worked.
They recommended I contact Huawei.
Will do. Cheers. Damn...
Hi, just steamed a movie and didn't have any issues.

I've got a Mate 10 Pro and used the Google Play Movies app.
What country are you in and what firmware are you rocking? I'll take this info to Huawei.

It might do. I'm in Australia running BLA-L09 8.0.0.118(C34). So we've both got the 128GB/6GB variants but different software. I'll be sure to let Huawei know yous is fine. Thanks :good:

Problem with rebooting stays
Same problems with rebooting while playing Google movies, Okko movies. No problems with Netflix.
Google support (and call back, and chat) could not solve the issue and advised to contact Huawei.
