Camera + Youtube lags - Xiaomi Redmi 6A Questions & Answers

Hey everyone,
Got the phone 2 days agao, it's actually quite nice for the price and everything runs more or less good! Except the camera which is really really slow and youtube which is also kinda laggy, like a lot...
I know with 2Gb of ram you can't do a lot, but these are basics, aren't they? Is that normal? MIUI version bug or hardware?
Thanks for your answers

Its MIUI bug, I don't know why. When i got the phone o updated it to miui 10 without doing much with miui 9. Are you on miui 9 and experiencing YouTube lag?

Nope. No other pure android rom can offer such a great SOT times as miui. On RR im getting around 6-7h SOT without using 4g.

after posting this i tried to set both CPU & GPU governors to powersave and it worked too good! it has no lag or a little in normal tasks and battery use is so awesome! it remained on 100% so long that i thought it is a bug! i just change kernel auditors profile when i want to play or do some thing heavy!
but i am still looking for the best battery friendly rom (after MIUI)!

Hey can you tell me how you did this? Are you on Custom Kernel or Stock Kernel? Would be nice if you could give a little step by step Guide...
Do I need to root?
Thank you

you have to do it using "kernel Auditor" app and your phone has to be rooted! in my vase i flashed Santhosh's CM13, GApps & SuperSU Zip to easily root my phone!
you dont need a custom kernel! although custom kernels have more CPU & GPU governors!
I think I am pretty good with mokee rom as compared to miui 8 (similar values)

Did not find any bugs but I am not a heavy or experienced user. Something I cannot control: Led Light colour
Also does not support the kernel denominator or radon (installed but I could pass through the lock screen).
I installed it, being in Miui8, unlocked (officially) bootloader.
Hexagon ROM is awesome .... Battery life is good 7-8-9 sot with WiFi clash of clans

Well yes, setting powersaving CPU governor is an option, but for me it resulted in many laggs (I'm a heavy user).
Btw. this 100% happens often. But it only applies to 100% charge, after that it will drop normally.

After my tests I would say no. It's stable, but SOT was worse than on MIUI 7.

I only use it when i want to do very light things on my phone!
Something new here?
Changing the Governor to powersave is not an option for me. Too laggy in swgoh.
What is more responsable for battery life? The Kernel or the ROM?

I just found this build, and i would love to use it as a daily driver. Could you give us any more feedback?
Like memory management, does it kill apps in the background often?
Or if you play Pokemon how does it perform?
Finally, is the daily use sluggish, any crashes/reboots?, does it feel smooth/ok to use everyday?
thanks a lot !

i use for daily and i think its good and very stabil
memory management is good and battery use i get offer than 20 hours from last charge
i not played pokemon but i play any game and it good for gaming
only one video recording still error
you can see if you record video but it not saved in internal or external memory
for crash i think not its smooth and stabil
Once I get my device unlock, I can try building some roms.

Following can be Problem
1.Youtube app is outdated
2.You patched YouTube so it's not working
3.You upgraded your phone now it's not working
4.You haven't rebooted Phone for too long
5.Battery is too low
6.Using a Custom ROM
7.Flashed something Wrong
According to you , What is the problem ?
Hi there,
Although i'm using Mi Mix, not RN5 and such, but i'll share my experience.
It happened to me when i'm using MIUI ROM that build date higher than 02 August.
When i'm using ROM that build date lower than that, everything is good.

Advice on a fast, stable ROM for my 1GB/16GB G4 Play

Hi all.,
I have an old G4 Play which I am tinkering with. I use an Xperia L1 as my main phone but get fed up with the limited storage due to Sony's grrrrrr bloatware.
I have tried Pixel Experience 8.1 on the G4 Play but it is too slow and different aspects often hang or crash, plus the battery life is dreadful. I also use Nova Launcher.
So I am looking for a slimmer, swifter ROM that would suit my low-memory version of the G4 Play if anyone could give me any advice.
TIA
SP
I really recommend you one of the most stable Oreo ROMs AOSP Extended v5.8 ROM ... Sadly, the developers erase everything without say even a goodbye

Yes bro, I absolutely agree with u. I've tried so many Nougat & Oreo ROMS & found low sound issue on video recording on almost all Nougat ROMs and some Nougat ROM has dark issue as well on camera. And on the Oreo ROMs battery drains deadly but AEX(AOSP Extended v5.8) is the best. Upto date Android version 8.1, security patch of August, 2018. Super battery backup, Camera, so many useful Customisation, almost no problems at all only default call recording doesn't work from the dialer but definitely u can use third party call recording apps from play store(tested).
Thankfully Here is the latest version download link: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903984332
AOKP ROM
It's the better. Android 7.1 (Stable) :good:
So did you try this rom? How was your experience? I am also considering flashing this rom now since the stock 7.1.1 rom has really bad battery backup atleast for me.

Display not responsive enough and SD445 feels slower than 1+6

Hi everyone,
the display on Pocof1 is just not responsive enough.
Icon clicks are missed. have to press again and harder.
Scrolling is very slow. Only 3-4 list items especially noticeable on Instagram (its not that it is not smooth but just slower to scroll, bcz 1+6 is 10000 times faster)
general UI traversing also is slow.
tried on MIUI as well as PE ROM and other good roms.
Have you guys been facing this?
The effect is especially pronounced when you have used or are using 1+6 too

The corvus rom is pretty amazing I wish someone would build it for my 6T
I enjoyed the time I spent on OOS but decided to flash the 6T this weekend (Bliss rom).
To answer your question The OOS port was all I used on the Poco the first year I had it.
But recently much better Roms have come along and I have no regrets for moving to Corvus OS
