Google is penalizing people ordering Pixel 3 through Project Fi - Google Pixel 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi,
I though someone might find this information useful. I've ordered my two Pixel's 3 on October 10th and got the estimated delivery for December 12-13th. Today I started researching what delivery dates other are other people receiving. I couldn't find anyone with date for December so I opened a support case with Google. They told me that they have two different stocks - one for Google store and one for Project Fi. But I've checked again during the call and if I try to order from Google store phones with the same configuration and choosing Project Fi as an option I see that estimated delivery date is October 22th. They told me that they cannot fix it and I need to cancel and order again. I don't want to do this because it would require another credit inquiry. I think what is really going on is that they are penalizing people who order phone using a promotion from Project Fi that when you buy 2 phones you receive $799 discount. I wonder if someone has a similar situation. Is it legal?

Cancel the order. Don't sweat the credit inquiry. They're nuts if they think you're going to wait nearly 2 months longer than anyone else.

I thought he was saying he'd get the same deal. I might have read "same configuration" as one free device like the Fi order. If he's getting a free phone I'd wait too, that's an easy one. I also thought it was just the credit check he was worried about. Perhaps some clarification is in order.

I ordered a Pixel 3 on the 10th through Project-Fi, had an Estimated Delivery Date of Nov. 1-2nd. I fully expected Nov 1, but then I got the email saying it was shipped on the 16th! And I now have it in my hands. Got it yesterday afternoon. Definitely wasn't penalized, in fact I got it much quicker than expected which was awesome!

Excellent, now is your order including a second device with 799 Fi credit? That's what I want to do.

Important Premier Shipping Information

Found these notes from the premier team (one is the same member who posted the link last night, the other made an official comment earlier in the week):
Hi, this is Deb from Premier Team. So here's what I've found regarding ordering/shipping/receipt of devices when ordered online:
- We always use Overnight Shipping for devices purchased online.
- In general, devices purchased before 4 p.m. EASTERN meet the deadline for shipping same night for next day receipt.
- There is a risk that if the volume of orders is exceedingly high for the day, the order may not process that same day. Once it does process, the device ships overnight.
I, personally, have not heard of any order processing delays happening with any of our previous online Premier First to Buys. However, if online demand exceeds daily order processing capacity, I wanted to make sure you were aware of the potential delay.
The good news is that no one else besides Premier can order online until after the phone is launched to the public. I wish I could guarantee all orders will be processed same day, but I don't know what to expect regarding demand.

So I think they were interpreting the 2-5 day window and setting the lowest expectation with you, which results in the 6/24 date. I don't know if they will ship today or not, but I'm pretty confident they'll go out before 6/24. We'll just have to all watch together. I wish we could guarantee delivery, but there are so many x-factors that can't be controlled, so the 2-5 day window is what's published and communicated to the reps. Thanks. -art

there's a good chance many people will get their orders tomorrow. statuses are getting updated right now. ups will take a bit to get the tracking numbers setup and then to get those numbers back into sprint's system. if your status says shipped, i would expect it tomorrow if u live in a metropolitan area.

Ugh, well I guess they aren't shipping them in the order purchased... Unless of course you guys purchased as soon as the link went live (mine was purchased about 4 minutes after it went live last night).

no. silver status is getting in before gold... few purchases at 11am have already gotten tracking #s... there seems to be no real pattern as of yet.
maybe last name alphabetical.... cc purchases first... according to geographic locations... idk. most of them do seem to be going to the east coast as of right now

Easiest thing would be to call their customer service. However I had good luck with the TF101 getting one when Newegg was selling them at launch and I have faith in them now. I keep checking my Pre-Order and my email as well as the sight for any updates. I've seen them update the Asus tablet page and remove the other tablets and put them back. Unless they wait until the last minute to update the page we may luck out and get it early. Otherwise they can always fallback on the fact that it says ETA and not actual release date.
For what it's worth, since I am a Campus Rep for ASUS, I can tell you all that the company has pretty strong ties with Newegg as that's who we use for our official campus store. If any company gets them on release date my bet would be with Newegg.

Not wanting to read into it but is 12/8 the actual release date? Since thats the date most retailers had initally before they changed it to the following week or two afterwards. If so then I definitely expect Newegg to have it on the date listed especially since every other retailer has been covering themselves and changed their dates while Newegg hasn't.

According to the event held in Taiwan on December 1st the Prime is supposed to be released in the US on the 12th online and 19th in stores.

my Bestbuy.com order status still says it gets released 12/18. I would love to get that one wrong!
Who was the source in Taiwan. Do we have someone on record as saying that? I know all of the media outlets were stating those dates on the day of the conference but I was never sure of an actual source.
What are they telling you as campus sales rep. When will you have one (or more) in hand?

I was skeptical for the same reason because no source was ever mentioned, no picture of any date was shown, nor was any video of the conference recorded.
My job is not as a sales rep... Just a Campus Rep. I'm supposed to promote the awareness and benefits of the products on campus by holding demo events, Q&A's, and reviewing new products. I'm going to contact my boss to see if I can get some more details.

I talked To a person they said they are getting them in the warehouse on the 8th and should be shipping in 1-2 business days after that! Unless they receive them early then they will start processing early...

It would really make my weekend if they shipped it out on the 8th!! Anyone know if it is possible to change shipping address on a newegg order? Their customer rep said I couldn't change since the order was "on hold". Will be hard for me to time it right so I can change the shipping address right after they receive it, but before they ship it out...
I forgot to put my office address in there and don't want them to leave it outside my house, or worse yet - take it back to the UPS hub on the day of delivery.

I was able to change the shipping option from 3 days to next day saver and change my credit card information, with a newegg customer service rep. My pre-order # did not change and still says "ordered on 11/25" on the pre-order status of "hold"..

My Best Buy pre-order says the 18th, but I was told I'd have it on the 13th. Maybe that date is for the in store date? Hoping so!
I love Newegg, but I have had some bad experiences with their pre-order stuff. Normally the release date is wrong, it comes later than the real release date, and once I got the incorrect product. I would hope they have gotten better, but when I made my preorder I stuck to Best Buy that had a physical presence so I could return or exchange without a hassle (hopefully) if there is a problem.
However, the official release date is the 19th for the US. There have been a lot of rumors and Asus officials have no been in sync with the information, but this finally seems official.

First time doing a pre-order with Newegg personally but I've bought lots of items from them in the past and have always been really good service. Of course service will always differ from one experience to the next. The way I see it is if they do get them on the 8th and ship them then thats a plus. If they get them on the 8th and ship the following week it falls in line with that 12th date that was thrown around with the 18th. And if it's not until the 18th then well it's the same as everyone else. All that matters at this point is when we all recieve the device. Unfortunately the site you linked to doesn't have anymore concrete information than any of the other sites. They reference the launch trailer we all saw as having the date and I watched it again to make sure I didn't miss something and there is no date in that trailer. So again we are all just playing the wait game until these merchants recieve and ship out our devices.

when i ordered the OG transformer from them it was an open box 16gb on their website for $300, i ended up getting a 32gb open box in the mail though, so sometimes those little snafus are a good thing!

yeah i called about a week ago and they told me 18th to 23rd and i asked they clarify what that meant. As in day shipped or day received and the lady said 18th would be earliest day i would have it in my hands and 23rd being the latest. This was at best buy but i should also note it sounded to me like she just read off the computer a generic product shipment statement. No real knowledge when it came to the prime. This was at best buy. For anyone wondering i ordered the 27th champ. 32gb no dock. I wanna know why u think the 13th too before i get my hopes up...
**edit- I figured i should also note for people wondering this was for standard free shipping. i was talking to her about upgrading shipping and once she told me 18th to 23rd i decided to leave it alone.
Just browsing Asus's product site, I noticed that the "preorder" list had been removed (unless I'm looking at the wrong page: http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-prime/features). I went to the "where to buy" tab and looked through some of the sites listed - a couple of places that weren't on the initial preorder list have them up now - J&R as we all know, but also allasus.com and PC Mall. I went ahead and called PC Mall to check on delivery time and the rep told me Dec. 12th. Now, of course, I doubt that is accurate, but it's news at least.

[Q] people who got shipping notices from amazon

On your orders page, did it say that it will arrive after the 25th, or did it say something else before you got the notice?
Everyones said " Asus will not ship to you because you are a preorder sucker...jokes on you!"
Mine said it would be delivered after the 25th ever since I preordered. But I just got the email saying it would be delivered the 19th.

Too many people looking for attention i'm finding on these boards of late...and everyone so far who's said "i've received it" actually..well..havent.
so..for anyone else who's received it and is brave enough...post your tracking number to back up the claim. (I know what the responses are going to be from those people.."whether or not you believe me..i got it..so stfu" )

I don't like posting anything remotely personally, so no tracking number. But I promise, this is no joke.

nothing personal is in a tracking number even when viewing a received one. sorry...
second...correct me if i'm wrong..but does Amazon truly ship out a expensive and highly sought after piece of hardware and not require a signature? ...again..sorry.
I'm not trying to bust anyone's balls here...I have my beliefs...people who've said they received them have theirs..and until i see the facts backing up the "on faith" i call it as i see it.

Now you're just being paranoid. Of course it needs to be signed for. That is why I had it sent to my girlfriend who signed for it. You do know you can choose to send orders on Amazon to other people?
As for the tracking info being anonymous - that it just plain wrong. That includes the name of the person signing for the package.
*I forgot to mention: this is the 32gb champagne version

Under Product Details it says "TF201-B1-GR", the "GR" at the end means it is gray.
Out of stock now, however.
I bet some 19 year old is going to call you and be like "check back with us in 2-3 days" lol. Good luck!
lol, could be Doeboy, but at this point, I'm ordering where I can in the hopes that one of my orders comes in. Lets just hope I don't get three emails at once that all say "your order has shipped" before I can cancel the other ones!

I guess thats the only color they have.hopefully we dont have any issue with this unit,this would be my second asus prime.

I Hear that I have several preordered too. Guess we could always sell extra on ebay to make up for cost if unable to cancle an order.
i was able to order one, delivery date of 1/5. Hopefully it gets delivered and hopefully its grey

Verizon Canceled My Pre-Order

I pre-ordered my note 3 on Sept 6th like a lot of you. However I am porting over my number from Sprint. Port orders are good for 30 days and then get canceled. When my port order was canceled, so was my phone pre-order. This all happened yesterday Oct 6th. I was on the phone with Verizon order support at 7 a.m. this morning to find all this out. The guy was very helpful, explained what had happened and reordered for me, but now I'm not sure where I'm at in line. He said he was working with a supervisor to bump my order status due to this issue and me not being notified. If I had not been checking my order every few days, I would not have known.
Just a word of caution for anyone porting your number!

I did think about that but with all the "Backorder" online talk over the weekend, I thought I'd be better off voicing my frustration and having them overnight it to me. I have 13 more lines to move from Sprint and I wanted to let them know this is not the way to earn my business.
Sorry to hear that you lost your place in line but, on the other hand, happy to see someone jump ship from Sprint to Verizon. Made that move myself a few years ago when Verizon offered unlimited data and took advantage of the recent subsized upgrade without losing unlimited.
