64 bit support? - Nokia 7.1 Questions & Answers

Can anyone confirm if the us version sold through bh photo and Amazon has 64 bit android? I know some phones have 64 bit hardware but have 32 bit android as is the case with my Moto G6. Looking to know for sure before I decide on getting this phone sometime

[Q] Archos 101 8gb Worth Buying?

I been thinking of getting it for past week.. It looks like a nice unit.. I'm new to the tab/smart phone arena.. Never had either of both..
I can get it for $230+ tax seems like the best tab for around that price.. One thing was can I increase the storage on the tab easily.. all this and that about roms and such.. Are they easy to use and can they really increase the speed of the tab and such.. Thx alot.
Our best rom, urukdroid, is nearly perfect and with an additional kernel from sibere the tab is really fast..
But:
If you can wait and if you want the fastest tablet in the world yet, wait for the generation 9 of arfhos tablets, only one month left they are really great tablets, you can find specs here at the forum
I bought it in November last year, at that time only Galaxy Tab, I-Pad and Archos was available... it was ok to buy the tablet to get familiar with Andoid-based Tablets.
At this point of time I would prefer another one with at least 512MB RAM. Agree, for that price it seems to be the best one, but if you are able to spend a few more bucks - do it I think I will buy a new one by end of this year, but I dont think it will be the Archos Gen9.
The specs of the newer ones do seem impressive, but does anyone know what kinda price point they may have.. It seems it could bring a much higher price then current models new tech and all.. And how i hate waiting lol..

urukdroid is far away from "nearly perfect" (maybe it seems like because there is not really any competition in developing for archos devices, which does say enough about archos devices at all), it's a mess and the ui/unmodified framework from archos is ugly like gnome was 10 years ago, and its not even $aurons fault alone (except he does not like android and google services at all), but because of archos not affording more than part-time developers on their devices and not releasing an actual kernel version with the hardware drivers to run a full actual android version (yes android, if i wanted some debian workarounds/services like samba server i'd bought a barebone and put debian on it, oh, wait i have allready). the only advantage: it's cheap, all said.
archos - it will take a time for me to ever buy something again from them, clearly not gen9 as there are alternatives out by now and i clearly don't want a cheap but useless toy for a few month until they get bored at archos with it again.
and this permanently canonising urukdroid and archos in this forum is really painful.
Best if you'll really wait for the new gen9, because they'll have the same price as the gen8 and they will be faster
The Archos fans forum has links to the US archos.com store which has a sale: $200 for the 8G SSD version and $250 for the 250 G HD version.

8 or 16 gig? difference is 25 bucks in price...

I got 2 nook tablet offers, one 8 gig for 8, one 16 gig for 105, what's the better deal? I just want to install android and read kindle books and light browsing, no major work.
I'd go for the 16 GB. It's not just the storage that's different, it's RAM memory as well.

Owner doesn't know the version he bought, how can I tell if it's the 8 or 16 gig version by looking at the box?
He wants 70 bucks for it.
please help
I bought a pantech element for 160 but if the nook is better I'll take it back.
I don't have my box any more, so I don't know where info is. Probably on a label at the back, if it's not clearly stated on the front.

crap!!
What do you think about the pantech element? I know it's not popular but you think I should return in and get this guy's nook tablet?
I don't know anything about the Pantech, but looking at specs it looks good to me. I like the actual look of it as well.

Nexus 9 16 for 400$ or nexus 9 32 for 500$

Is this tablet worth the asking price? I currently returned my Nvidia Shield Tablet because the quality felt a little meh, and the screen kept showing distortion by pushing it.
Any thoughts and suggestions?
I would really like to stick to Android and this seems to be the closest to the quality of the Air 2.
Would I be ok with the 16 GB?
not worth it for most people imho. lotsa problems if you check all the existing threads. somehow the majority in the threads, including me, are only getting 5-7 hours or screen time web browsing when the pro reviews show ~9hrs (videos are fine - 10hrs+), memory leaks needing daily reboots (which could be fixed by a patch), light bleed, removal of the ability to adjust the volumes without going into settings (you can only adjust the volume of what's being used at the time you press the volume button - ringer, alerts, media aren't expandable).
i still love mine for now, but i'd never tell anyone to buy one until google patches the software problems. the hardware is decent but far from premium. i'd say at $250 it's a good deal, $300 is fair, but at $400 there are other options.
i got it because i just got my hands on a old galaxy tab 8.9. i used to have one when they first came out and i loved the size. i have a note 8, but kinda not digging the size any more. i considered the 8.4, but the nexus at 8.9 - 4:3 is as tall as the 8.4 @ 16:10 and as wide as a 10.1 @ 16:10. for me it makes for better browsing and reading. some people prefer not having black bars in movies, but the size of the image will be the same on an 8.4 16:10 as it is on the 4:3 nexus.
also, the speakers are nice. i haven't had a tablet with sound this good since my archos 101t.

I have the 32gb Nexus 9. I bought an open box 16gb first but I donated that to my daughter and got the 32gb. Having said that I have noticed no build quality issues with either one of them. It looks good and feels very solid. I have owned many different devices and the Nexus 9 is built better than most. In order for me to use a 16gb device it has to have a microsd card slot.

I hate the huge markup on the 32 gb but its the way to go. would prefer 64gb if they had any.
THanks for reply guys. I reserved a white 32GB model but then saw the 600$ price tag with taxes here in Toronto...for that money I could literally get a laptop
I wish it was around 300$ for the 16 GB and 400 for the 32 and I'd totally be ok with that...but at 529.99 I might just get a video card at this point .
I really like the design of the nexus 9 and the look is very beautiful though! I'm sure most software problems will be patched but I expected lollipop to be a smoother transition.
I am in Toronto got the 32gig version, never regretted it.

I, too, wish the Nexus 9 was cheaper. Heck, I wish most things in life are cheaper.
With that said, I had my Nexus 9 16GB since almost day 1 (day 3 to be exact) and have been loving it. Unlike some people who have complained on the forum, I am fortunately among the Nexus 9 owners who never had a single problem.
You may be able to get a laptop at around $600 but it would be a crappy one and it would still be a laptop and not a tablet, which have very different functions. Some of the cons of a laptop being heavier, harder to just pick up and use, lack of touch screen... etc. If you DO for some reason want an "actual computer" for work, then no tablet is ideal for you.
I got the 16 GB also. Instead of forking over extra cash for additional 16 GB space I put the money towards a WiFi HD. All I need now is cifs support.
I'm thinking of Getting the 16 GB model, then using an OTG cable and putting a usb stick when ever i need to watch movies.
I'll just put minor TV Shows or Movies on the tablet that I watch on subway (although I watch mostly on my phone on subway).
Everyone bought the 16 GB version though LOL, I need to find one
@woshiweili
You're missing the point of what I mean though, I'm not trying to make it sound Like I want everything to be cheap, I just want everything to be fair.
The price is very Expensive. for the same price you can get a Samsung Tab S which has a superior Screen and the addition of microSD, also 3 GB ram.
This tab should have been 300 price for standard and 400 for 32 GB...also 680+ for LTE? I'm sorry but no LTE card is worth an additional 150$
Anyways I'm going to go pick one up today hopefully if I can find one.

Get one of these microSD card readers:
http://www.meenova.com/
It is very small so it will not get in the way as bad as a OTG cable and usb drive.

That's no problem, to watch movies I usually use ES anyways since it also has root access.
i know with archos media player you can index just about any non-root folder, even networked shares (paid version, dunno about the free) and other media players shouldn't have any problems directly accessing a mounted drive.
i considered using my otg cables but i didn't want to lose the ability to charge and use an external drive if it ever came down to it. helluva lot cheaper thought, lol.
I was lucky enough to find an open box Nexus 9 32GB so I saved give or take about 75$. So I ended up paying 25$ extra or so for an extra 16 GB. Will open it when i get home.
Thanks for help guys!
dunno where you got it from, but amazon has the 32 for 429 and bb will price match. I got my 16gb for 350 plus tax new.

As you can see from my profile pic I'm from Canada, and Best Buy will only price match with the Canadian Amazon. Either way I came out about the same with the open box, the only downside is that it was opened but looking it over it's literally brand new.
Don't rule out Swappa. I bought a brand new, sealed 16GB Black Nexus 9 for $330 shipped/no tax, and went on online chat with Google Play Store to transfer ownership of the serial number to me.
Hope you enjoy it. I've made the decision to keep mine and let go of the note 8. Gonna miss using the s pen when taking recipe note while cooking. Lecture notes and a standard capacitive pen will make do until thet make a 9" note. I don't regret my purchase and like the 4:3 more than I thought I would.
I ended up returning it because it had a lot of screen bleed. I'm just going to wait and see what happens when the nvidia x1 comes out.
Thanks for replies guys!!
I went through too many exchanges with the nvidia shield to do it with this one...and this is around 200$ more. I'll just wait and see of any revisions fix the problem.

128 GB MicroSD Recommended or not?

Hello,
I'm back in the Android world after a long time and the Honor 5x will be my daily driver for the foreseen year.
As someone who doesn't rely on streaming services, I thought a 128 MicroSD would be the way to go to maximise storage and be able to carry a significant junk of my music collection.
However, someone reported in a youtube comment, about trouble with a 128 GB card (brand not specified).
I delved a bit more into this issue, and seems to be common with 64GB+ cards, say when you have a Samsung phone and use a non-Samsung card and so on.
Is there anyone here who is using 128 GBs or has a first hand experience with someone who does, and has been able to run with no issues ("automatic unmount and mount" every N-minutes or N-hours is the issue I've read about).
If not, is there anyone running 64 GB with no problems (what brand?).
I appreciate your time.
PD: I don't have the phone yet but since I'm importing it I'd like to score with a good card so to have the full package working day-1.
64 GB PNY black label no problem.
but 128 GB PNY Green Label a lot of issues unexpected SD removed no matter how you format it.

@mpsychedelic ... Have used a "SanDisk Ultra" 128 Gb sd card since the first day I received my honor 5X (7 days after it was released on the US market). Absolutely no problems with reading and writing to it. I use SanDisk cards in all my phones and tablets and have never had any problems.
However as far as MY honor 5X is concerned it is the L24 i.e. the US retail model and you specifically mention importing yours which I presume means it could be the Chinese or Asian or Europen versions and I would honestly bear that in mind when deciding which make of 128 card to purchase. If you read through the whole forum you will see many instances (not necessarily concerning sd cards but covering a range of subjects) where problems between the US retail and others exist.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your timely answers as I'm hitting that order button tonight or tomorrow!

Ok, so Indeed the PNY seems to be one of the "issue prone" cards, as I've read a lot about problems with those.
Since I'm really pushing towards 128, I guess PNY are out of the equation.
Now I'm torn between a Sandisk and my usual Transcend cards (I use Transcend for my DSLR, GoPro, etc).

I'm ordering from Amazon US so, should be the US model. And to be 100% sure, the guys from Huawei replied to a question from another user in the article's page:
Hello Valued Customer, the Honor 5X variant for the US is Model KIW - L24. (AI)

So it's indeed the only version (obvious) and the one holding in my hands.
metpolds, Could you maybe specify the exact model of your card, would you say it's the SDSQUNC-128G-GN6MA? Unfortunately cannot post links (well I could easily go around the BBCodes but won't be a rogue user), but that's the first "Sandisk Ultra 128 GB" result on Amazon, and there is an older version in the second or third result.
Thanks again for your time.

@mpsychedelic ...Yes that is the one I purchased from Newegg.

what capacity version do we have?

128 or 512?
What exactly do you mean? Both are available but I suppose the 128GB version is much more widely used due to the 200$ surcharge for the 512GB version.

As I tried to point out, I suppose the majority will most probably have the 128 GB model because the 512 GB costs 200$ more and offers no real added value because who needs 512 GB of storage on a phone?
Additionally the 512 GB version wasn't in stock at first/released later I think
For better understanding and communication I recommend www.deepl.com/translator it's really good at translating meaningful and contextually aware.
i opted to get the 512GB. i knew 128 gigs wasn't going to be enough for me. unfortunately i destroyed my screen while out to eat and am waiting on getting it repaired.
Mine is 128gb.
Last phone was s7 with 128 memory, and the whole 2 years I had it, it didn't reach 100 gb mark, so i think more than 128 for me is overkill.
I would suggest just using a flash drive and otg it

128GB for me too, don't think I'll need more than that. I'll just store stuff off on the cloud if I do need more later on. Or maybe get that dock that has the SD card attachment.

honestly i dont know. the drop punched a circle through my glass screen protector and completely shattered and destroyed what i assume to be my digitizer. and the nearest asus repair center is three states away from where i am in the USA
Everything I do on the phone is mainly streamed or stored in the cloud I just went for the 128gb version as the only things taking up a little space are the handful of games. Always been fine with the 128gb iPhones and iPads so never needed more.
