"Unable to use fingerprint." FIX - LG K20 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

So, after an annoying girlfriend and a boring Sunday at work I have pinpointed the solution to a very common issue with LG phones have after being flashed back from custom ROM's.
You're going to need Magisk Manager and Root.
1) Remove all fingerprints from fingerprint & security.
2) Remove lock screen (select none)
3) Download and add Magisk SELinux Manager:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4440305
4) Open Magisk, go to Modules section hit ( + ) button and long-press the SELinux zip you just download. Now, hit open.
5) Follow the prompt, once asked to enter selection hit Permissive mode. Reboot and re-add lock screen and fingerprint.
Note: you may need to add the same finger twice to get it to work the first time, once working delete all fingerprints and re-enter.

There is an easier fix posted on my lineage thread. I specify the exact files to delete to remove saved fingerprints.
You should find it and add it to your OP here

That method does not work, I had tried that many times.

It's the only persisting fp registry files, they only store to that location. If that isn't working it's because you didn't clean install after wiping them out. I've tested it myself after purposely not wiping fingerprint data before a clean install.

I did clean install with wiping the data lol, that method worked 2 Stock ROM versions ago. This method works now.

Worked!
This method worked perfectly on my lg k20 plus. Thanks!

Patched Mail.apx - No lock/password for exchange

I patched the classes.dex and no more passcode after the lockscreen.
Since Mail.apk is a system app you can't just replace the apk... so you'll need to do it in recovery.
Instructions:
1. First you need to remove all exchange accounts (in SETTINGS -> ACCOUNTS & SYNC) and then remove the PIN in SETTINGS - SECURITY.
2. Then boot into recovery and install the Mail.apk - patched.zip file (attached).
3. Reboot and add your exchange account normally... it will still ask you to activate the security settings but no password will be required.
Enjoy not having to type a password to unlock your EVO 3D!!!
--- Found this info to patch the classes.dex here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10582547&postcount=335
Still requires the password.

Definitely still requires the password... Anyway to get this working? The whole password thing sucks

Really sorry guys, I had the old classes.dex file for some reason. This is fixed now! I reuploaded the file in the OP.
You'll still need to remove the exchange account and remove the lock before you install the zip from recovery.

Confirmed working now, 100% Thank you so very much, I can't tell how much the password thing pissed me off!
I just followed the instructions, downloaded the file to my phone, moved it to my root of my sd card, renamed it from -1.zip to exchange.zip flashed it, rebooted and tried to add it, and no go still have to add a pin. I looked in the zip file and I don't see a classes.dex file at all. Not sure what is up, but I am on stock ROM, have S-OFF, and Recovery, no issues flashing it through recovery but still required to put in a PIN. I'd LOVE to have this working. I will be going to a new ROM soon, I just haven't decided which one I want.
All I can say is keep trying, I have it working for.me right now, but I flash alot of roms, so I feel sometimes it works and other times it doesnt....try not clearing cache or dalvik, installing then rebooting. It will still tell you it needs a pass but when you press activate it will bring you right back to finish your email set up....
SHOTS FIRED!!! From 3 Dimensions!
I suspect it is because I am still on stock ROM, and it is Odexed. Don't know a lot about it, but that is my suspicion. I'll probably flash a ROM this weekend and then try it again.
do you know if this will help to fix the stock mail.apk if it is having issues?
i have tried flashing different roms and still get a exchange activesync mail application which doesn't want to sync correctly.
bump........

Will this patch also work on v2.3.4?

I'll Add Some Of My Findings Here As Well...
Camera sounds annoy me and I couldn't find any tweak, app, or anything to disable them on the LG's Camera, so I figured it out myself. I have wrote a guide and included a .zip with the files you need to switch.
- How to disable your LG Camera Sounds -
Found by high247 of XDA-Developers for the Virgin Mobile LG Tribute LG660.
-# 01. You are going to need to be ROOTED on your phone and have a Root Explorer. I personally use Root Browser from the Play Store.
And you'll need the .ogg files from this .zip file.
I've you are not ROOTED please check Unjustified Dev's guide here on how to do so.
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
-# 02. First move the .ogg files from this .zip to your phones SDcard.
cam_snap_0.ogg
camera_click.ogg
camstart.ogg
camstop.ogg
VideoRecord.ogg
(I've included backups of all the orginal .ogg's in Backup-ogg in the .zip. Just delete the .bak off the end and they are the orginal files in case you want to switch back.)
-# 03. Ok now on to disableing the sounds on your phones Camera (For whatever reasons you might what to do so. For me, they just annoy me)
Open your Root Explorer and go to your SDcard and multi-copy the .ogg's you put there.
Now navigate to System folder, click that,
now locate the Media folder, click that,
now locate the Audio folder, click that,
now locate the UI folder, click that, then once inside the UI folder click PASTE to copy the files there. It might be useful to delete the old ones before hand.
-# 04. Almost done, now you have to change the to .ogg file permissions to 0644 rw-r--r--
(If your not good with permissions, when you select permissions just make sure Read is checked in every box and Write is only checked on Owner, everything else unchecked.)
-# 05. ALL DONE. No need to reboot or anything, just go to your Camera and see that the annoying sounds are gone.
ENJOY!

We need more detailed information to help, how did you get stuck for one?
I got the update for my Tribute and like a idiot I tried to install it but it just keeps booting into TWRP, I wiped the phone and than I restored a backup from my SD card that I had but it still reboots to TWRP, the backup installed successfully but it just keeps booting to TWRP, any ideas how to fix this? The backup has the TWRP recovery and root. I also tied the new rom and it still boots to TWRP.
What to Change that ugly color on your default LG Messaging App?
You need to install Xposed Framework on your rooted LS660/F60
1. Here is the Xposed Framework installer you need for G3 Tweakbox to work: http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk
2. Now download G3 Tweakbox from the Play Store and install it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...weaksbox&hl=en
3. Open Xposed Framework installer make sure the Xposed Framework is installed up to date and and then make sure you check the module for G3 Tweakbox and reboot your device before anything will work.
4. Now open G3 Tweakbox app, go to Messaging, scroll all the way to the bottom and you can change the color.
5. After you make changes Reboot your phone for them to take full effect. My messaging app now is Black.
And in this post I show what else I found that worked with G3 Tweakbox on the LS660, even some pictures : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59451127&postcount=766
NOTE: Not all tweak work. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You were on ZV4 right? I believe you have to flash the boot.img for ZV4 from TWRP and that will fix it. You might have to flash from fastboot though I forget, its almost 3am here and its been a long day.
Extract the boot.img from this .zip and try that.
Ok so for whatever reason I just could not get the damn OTA updates to stop re-downloading, even after doing what cpshelley2 said to do. My problem was update.zip kept re-downloading to /cache/ and then the notification would pop up to install. I ran the adb command cpshelley2 suggested and turned OTA off, made sure the update.zip was deleted, long pressed the notification clicked app info went to manager cleared all.
And it would just keep downloading over and over again, giving me the notification to install over and over again, so what I found was apps named Disable Service and Autorun Manager on the play store, they are free and for root, that fixed this for me.
DisableSevice Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice&hl=en
AutorunManager Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun&hl=en
**WARNING DO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ARE CHECKING AND UNCHECKING IN THESE PROGRAMS YOU COULD MESS SOMETHING UP!***
Open the Disable Services app, click where it says System near the top, then scroll down to Google Play services, click it, now scroll down almost all the way near the bottom and find SystemUpdateService then uncheck it will turn red.
Now open Autorun Manager and select Advance Mode, then in the top right click Settings, make sure Show System Entries and Enable System App Disable are both Checked, now find Google Play Services, click it to see a list of receivers, scroll down til you find com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver and com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver and com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$SecertCodeReceiver ,then un-check them.
Now your done.
Reboot phone and update.zip will stop downloading in /cache/ (**delete it one last time if it is there still**) and you will stop being notified about the ZV5 update.
Hope that helps someone else too. Any questions feel free to ask and remember I'm on the LG LS660 Virgin Mobile.
Hidden Custom Lock Screen Wallpaper Feature
Oh and I have found how to make custom lock screens for everyone else with the LG Tribute, its hidden in the Photos app, download or take whatever picture, open it in Photos, click the 3 dots in the top right bringing down a menu, click Set as.. click More.. Set as Lock screen wallpaper. Crop and set!
Took me forever to find that. Could not find any info anywhere on the internet. lol
Hope that helps someone else too!
Hidden Menu
Dial this number below.
5689#*660#
That unlocks the Hidden Menu.
If you Dial ##3424# it will ask you for a Six Digit Service Code or known as a MSL Service Code. ( No known working codes have been found as of this posting. )
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
How to Access the Sprint OMADM Hidden Menu, No Root Needed.
Download Activity Launcher from the play store.
Open Activity Launcher and at the top click on Recent Activities at the top and switch it to All Activities... Once you did that scroll all the way down the list to Software Updates and click on it... A list will appear showing all the activities it does... Scroll down to Sprint OMADM Hidden Menu, there are 3 you can access though 4 say Sprint OMADMA Hidden Menu.
One will let you change the carrier branding.
Hope that helps you and let us know what happens if you try it please.
NOTE: You can Edit Chameleon Node options in the Sprint OMADM Hidden Menu com.lge.lgdmsclient.ui.test.SPROmadmHiddenMenu such as "Brand Name" in Edit Chameleon Node... Click it... Then click GET... If you have Virgin Mobile that should pop up under Brand Name... Click it and edit to say what you want... Then click SET and reboot phone to take effect.
CHANGE SETTINGS ATE YOUR OWN RISK AND NEVER FACTORY RESET OUTSIDE OF YOUR DEFAULT BRANDING OPTION.
And that my friends is mostly what I have found so far for our phones that are useful.
Now any questions feel free to ask and I'll answer ASAP. 3am here so I'm off to bed now. Night my friends.
Is there a working custom rom yet? I would love to get rid of the LG's default version and try CM12.

[Guide] Delete fingerprint profils via TWRP

After restoring an backup via TWRP I had to remove/bypass lockscreen with TWRP to access my android. Still I found my fingerprint reader not working. I fixed this by deleting the fingerprint profile with TWRP.
Symptoms of the issue I had:
Fingerprint is not working to unlock the phone. Lockscreen gives me an error about missing fingerprint hardware.
I can't add new fingerprints. The fingerprint wizard gives me an error message "Enrollment was not completed" and closes the wizard
How to remove the pin/pattern you can find here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/remove-lockscreen-recovery-t3530008
Solution for fingerprinter:
Boot into TWRP
Go to advanced>filemanager to acces the files in your phone.
Enter the folder /data/system/user/0
Delete following files: ./fpdata/user.db, settings_fingerprint.xml
Reboot to system and set up new fingerprints with the fingerprint wizard
Everything should work normal
Hope it helps
Thanks!
Only works until the following reboot. So you need to go through the procedure again. Soft reboot leave the fingerprints intact. Tested on Moto G5.
Thanks a lot man! Saved myself from clean flashing on my Oneplus 5!!
Thanks!
On my HTC A9 I had the message "PIN required to enable fingerprint reader". It is an at&t a9 that I've rooted and running the unlocked developer version. I used these steps in TWRP and my fingerprint reader was fixed.
Legend! Thank you for posting this! Saved me from factory resetting my HTC 10!
unfortunatley my fpdata folder is empty... but I still get this "Enrollment was not completed" when around 80% done.... It looks like the very last fingerprint touch is needed. However the whole process still looks broken because sometimes it accept when I touch next time it roll back. It didn't behave like that on stock. Is there any way to fix this problem except flash stock ? BTW I'm now on custom 7.1.2 ROM Resurrection Remix N v5.8.5
Go to /data/system and delete locksettings.db
And then go to /data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml and delete it.
Worked for me on AEX Oreo.
I sent my OnePlus 3T in for an RMA, when I received it back and restored the TWRP backup my FP was not working anymore. Tried this fix and everything is fine again
Still works after a reboot
thanks konzi.. couldn't remove fingerprints (lineage os 15.1 on redmi note 4 mido)
I gave root access to my file explorer app (es file explorer) and renamed those files (to .bak) and it fixed the issue for me.
I did as it said on OP, but it didn't work :/
This does not seem to work under Android Pie. Only the lockscreen.db file is present, but the fpdata folder is empty and I am unable to remove old fingerprints in settings.
Any ideas.
I hate to revive an old dead thread, but I can confirm that this DOES work on Android Pie (9.0) 181005.003 October security release. Thank you so much OP!!!
One step that may have not been included is to be sure to "mount" the "data" partition or you may not be able to properly "write" and/or delete and/or display the right files...
The user.db file didn't exist for me, but deleting the settings_fingerprint.xml solved the problem for me m

I don't know anything about the HTC's...but have you "reset-ted" or, if you have an unlocked bootloader, maybe re-flashing the Full Factory image -- I know with the Pixel's, you can reflash the Full Factory image without wiping the device...
Good luck and hope this helps...

Forgot to reply earlier. Well, I am attempting to avoid doing a reset, since I just did a backup restore, resetting the phone would be counter-productive.
Regardless, I found the issue, there was a backup file for the prints too, deleting that fixed everything.
Following what appy.79 told solved for me too... crush on lockscreen setting and deleted fingerprints all OK now

[ROM][AL00][4/1/19] Mate 20 X GlobAL00ized 1.6 (fw 200) [Debloated][Mostly Deodexed]

Welcome to the Mate 20 X GlobAL00ized project. This ROM's goal is to transform your Chinese AL00 into a global device. We accomplish this by magic. What does this do? Well, it enables google location services, google pay, and many other global huawei device features. This was a joint venture between myself, @cflynt, and @antiochasylum. It's about as close to a rebrand as you'll get without an actual "rebrand."

Installation steps:
Step 1:
Copy ROM zip to your device.
Step 2:

Notes to be aware of
Google Pay does not, nor has ever liked ROOT. Nor do pretty much any pay type apps. So make sure you use Magisk Manager, and click on the 3 lines in the top left corner and select Magisk Hide and scroll down to Google Pay and check that to make sure it is hidden from Root. Otherwise you will run into issue. Someone said they also had to hide Google Services Framework. So you might want to hide that as well. In my tests of using Google Pay, I didn't have to do that, but it isn't gonna hurt anything.
Smart Lock might need you to re-train your voice in order to work on the phone if it recognized you had already trained it from previous devices. My guess is to make sure it is more secure from the phone. So you might go into Google Assistant and do that before setting up Smart Lock as your unlock ability if that is your chosen path.
Updating to the latest version of EMUI Software
This is a tad extensive, but mainly just lots of info to try and answer any questions anyone might have. I promise it is much easier than all the text shows. Just read through it and you will see there really isn't that much to do.
I do recommend, just as a precaution, that you do a full nandroid backup in TWRP before doing any type of update. This just covers bases. If you go into TWRP and select BACKUP and make sure all Partitions are selected and then Swipe to Backup. It will store a full backup of all partitions on your Internal Storage. You can then transfer this over to your PC for safe keeping.
Step 1: Go ahead and download and transfer ALL of the following to your Internal Storage. All files are linked at the bottom of this post except the latest ROM which is in the first post. The latest ROM, the latest Update Full Base Zip, the EMUI Flasher, the Patched TWRP Image and lastly the Current Magisk Recovery Ramdisk Image. You will need all these files here in a bit. I recommend you save the TWRP image as twrp.img for easier use shortly.
Step 2: Next, we want to run the EMUI Flasher from the phone. Make sure you are plugged into Power or the PC via USB. Run the app, it SHOULD prompt you, if this is the first time you have ran the app, to grant ROOT permissions, as well as to download some Asset files. Just select Confirm. IF, it did not. go ahead and exit the app and close it out. Run Magisk first and then hit HOME and run the app again so that it prompts. Next, tap the Select button at the top right for #1 Firmware File, and Allow the permissions to allow it access your file system. Find the update_full_base.zip file you downloaded and transferred to the phone earlier. Tap to select it. You don't need to worry about #2 right now, if they push another patch later, I might update this to observe that. But currently we only have the one push. Now tap the RED Circle at the bottom right with the Down Arrow in it. This will reboot into Recovery and flash the update. NOTE: As soon as it is done Flashing, it will reboot, you will want to be ready to hold the Volume DOWN key to boot into Bootloader Mode.
Step 3: Now that we are in the Bootloader. We want to Flash the TWRP Image over to the Recovery Ramdisk. So type the following:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk
twrp.img
You should get an output similar to the following:
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery_ramdisk' (24956 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.627s]
writing 'recovery_ramdisk'...
OKAY [ 0.175s]
finished. total time: 0.805s
Type:
Code:
fastboot reboot
To reboot the phone, then immediately unplug the USB Cable from the Phone. We want to immediately hold VOLUME UP to boot into TWRP Recovery. Until it says NOW BOOTING.
Step 4: Next we want to flash the current ROM you downloaded earlier. Tap on INSTALL at the top Left. Browse to where you placed the current ROM and tap on it. Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 5: Now that the ROM has flashed successfully hopefully, we want to go ahead and flash the Magisk Recovery Ramdisk back on the Recovery Ramdisk. Hit BACK to get back to the main menu, tap on INSTALL at the top left, then INSTALL IMAGE at the bottom right. Locate your recovery_ramdiskMagiskAL00.img you downloaded and transferred to your Internal Storage earlier. Tap on it. Now find and tap on Recovery Ramdisk to select it. Lastly, Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 6: Lastly, we want to put TWRP back on the eRecovery Ramdisk since most likely the Software update overwrote it. Hit BACK till you get back to the main menu, tap on INSTALL at the top left, then INSTALL IMAGE at the bottom right. Locate your twrp.img you downloaded and transferred to your Internal Storage earlier. Tap on it. Now find and tap on eRecovery Ramdisk to select it. Lastly, Swipe to confirm Flash.
That is it, hit BACK to get back to the main menu. Make sure to UNPLUG from any USB Device. Select REBOOT and then REBOOT RECOVERY to boot your system with the Magisk Recovery Ramdisk. It will probably take a little longer the first boot due to the software update and converting some files.
Enjoy the latest software!
Updating to the latest version of EMUI Software w/out using EMUI Flasher
This is for those that seem to have trouble using the EMUI Flasher for whatever reason. It has worked for us as well as many others that have tested it over and over, so not quite sure what the trouble is, but regardless, here is the older style instructions for those that do have difficulties with that flasher. Hopefully it helps ya get things updated that way.
Step 1: Download the latest ROM from the 1st post, the Stock eReocvery, TWRP Image and the Magisk Recovery Ramdisk Image all from the bottom of this post if you don't already have them and transfer them to your Internal Storage. You will also need a copy of the TWRP image wherever you keep your ADB directory for fastboot later.
Step 2: We now want to boot into TWRP to flash the Stock eRecovery. Plug your phone into a USB Device, either PC or Power and Reboot holding the VOLUME UP. KEEP holding even when it prompts for the eRecovery Menu, release when it says it is NOW BOOTING at the bottom.
Once in TWRP, tap on INSTALL at the top left and then INSTALL IMAGE at the bottom right. Locate your Stock eRecovery Image you downloaded and transferred to your Internal Storage earlier and select it. Next, select the eRecovery Ramdisk Partition to restore to. Lastly Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 3: Now we want to Reboot into the Stock eRecovery, so with your Phone plugged into a USB Device, back out and select REBOOT and SYSTEM, hold VOLUME UP. KEEP holding even when it prompts for the eRecovery Menu, release when it says it is NOW BOOTING at the bottom.
Once in eRecovery. select to Download latest version. It might prompt you to enter your Wifi Credentials. It will possibly prompt about it wiping all your data. From our experience, this has never happened. But good thing you did a backup earlier right!? Once it is done downloading and installing the latest update. It will go through a verification. You obviously will have the time, but just be prepared for when it prompts that it will be rebooting. You will want to then hold the VOLUME DOWN button so that we boot into BOOTLOADER MODE. We need to catch it before the system boots up and re-encrypts the data partition. So just be mindful of the percentage it is at. Then you will have like 10 seconds when it says it will be rebooting. Right when it starts to reboot, hold that VOLUME DOWN until you are in BOOTLOADER MODE.
Step 4: Once in BOOTLOADER MODE, change to your ADB Directory unless you have it set in your path. Now we will want to flash the Magisk Recovery Ramdisk back as well as TWRP to the eRecovery Ramdisk. First, we need to get back into TWRP so type the following:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img
This will flash TWRP to the Recovery Ramdisk temporarily. We now need to boot into TWRP so that we can put everything where it belongs. We aren't able to use fastboot to write to eRecovery. So type:
Code:
fastboot reboot
IMMEDIATELY unplug your USB Device and then hold VOLUME UP until it says NOW BOOTING at the bottom. Once in TWRP, tap on INSTALL at the top left and then INSTALL IMAGE at the bottom right. Locate your Magisk Recovery Ramdisk Image you transferred to your Internal Storage and select it. Next, select the Recovery Ramdisk Partition. Lastly, Swipe to confirm Flash. Now hit back, all the way to the menu to be safe. Once again, select INSTALL at the top left and then INSTALL IMAGE at the bottom right. Locate your TWRP Image and select it. Next, select the eRecovery Ramdisk Partition this time. Lastly, Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 5: Now that Recoveries are where they belong once again, and you are on the current release of software, we need to flash the current ROM you downloaded and transferred to the Internal Storage earlier. Back out to the main menu. Select INSTALL at the top left, locate the ROM you downloaded and select it. Swipe to confirm Flash.
Step 6: If all flashed ok and everything is good, make sure you are unplugged from any USB Device, back out to the main menu and select REBOOT and then REBOOT RECOVERY to boot your device. All should come up as it should.
Huawei Dialer
For those that aren't fans of the Google Dialer, I am not sure why, but whatever floats your boat. Google Dialer has Video, has Spam and Blocking just like the Huawei Dialer does, only thing missing is the Call Recorder option which can be added by 3rd party, and I'd much rather have video capability. Regardless, it was requested. We have included the flash at the bottom. You can flash it in TWRP. Once flashed, you will need to go into SETTINGS and then into APPS and then into DEFAULT APPS, and set your PHONE APP to reflect the proper dialer you wish. The flash actually removes the Google Dialer from the system, but it won't remove any Google updates that have been done, so most likely it will still show up in the system. So just make those changes and it will now be your default dialer for incoming/outgoing. Enjoy. Note: All ROMS will ALWAYS come with the Google Dialer. You will have to flash this ZIP anytime we do a ROM update if you wish to use the Huawei Dialer. Keep that in mind moving forward.
Google Dialer
For those that flashed the Huawei Dialer and wish to return back to the Google Dialer can download the Zip at the bottom of this post. You will flash it the same way as you did the Huawei zip in TWRP. This will remove the Huawei Dialer from your phone and put the Google Dialer back in the system. It should become your default, but just in case any updates happened that downloaded anything out of our control you can double check your default apps. Go into SETTINGS and then into APPS and then into DEFAULT APPS, and set your PHONE APP to reflect the proper dialer, in case 2 show up there. Note: You will only need to flash this if you are wanting to return to the Google Dialer from flashing the Huawei Dialer. All ROMS come with the Google Dialer and always will. So this is the only time you will have to mess with it.

Great job guys!!!
Now I really need to get an unlock code.
Sweeeeeeettt! Nicely done fellas. Just need to get unlock code now.
Can people who have installed this confirm that notifications are working properly or do we need to go through the multiple steps to disable smart notifications, lock the app, etc, etc...
I can confirm even with the modified ROM, googlepay does not work for me. My american express won't confirm. I'm in Canada for reference and the same card works on my L29 phone. Also, using the A&W (fast food franchise) app won't load coupons because it thinks I'm not in the area even though I granted the app permission to locations.

I haven't disabled anything and get notifications all day long. But it is possible you will still have to do the usual power management notifications, we can't do that for you. That is gonna be an app per app thing. But all my typical notifications like messaging, hangouts, etc have all come through without modification.

I don't have an American Express, nor do I live in Canada, but it added and confirmed my Visa card without issue, and I even sent a test transaction with no issue. I don't personally use Google Pay, so I haven't taken it to a store to make a purchase, but I can only assume that if it sends transactions after the confirmation, that it works fine. Did you actually use Magisk Hide and hide the app? It is an app that won't like root.
does this need the unlocked bootloader?

I did some more tinkering and got Google pay working. Before doing anything, I enabled magisk hide on Google services framework before trying to enable the cards. Got confirmation this time.
Still can't get A&W app to find me. It thinks I'm on the west coast for some reason.

There are many threads on the general section of this forum as to where to purchase a code. This is a ROM thread not an unlocking thread. :good:
First, thanks for getting this out!!! Everything is working so far for me. Anyway to remove the Chinese below the time/date on the lock screen?

The Chinese text on the lock screen is due to the preloaded themes magazine unlock comes with. In the new ROM magazine unlock isn't present so no Chinese text should appear. Did you format data in TWRP when installing or just wiped system?

I definitely did a format... I had to type "yes" to perform the format. Is there a way to remove magazine unlock without formatting and installing the rom again?
Note app
Thanks for this. It is smooth. However, I bought the M-Pen and now the note app that comes up at the home screen is now gone. Can someone help with the apk? Thanks.

Call recorder and Face unlock are NOT working. I followed instructions and i'm on the right firmware. Any help?
---------- Post added at 06:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:52 PM ----------
I found that using SolidExplorer and EsFile manager the changes i make are reverted after a reboot. I'll explain myself. In particular when trying to copy lib64 folder content into my system/lib64 i fail with Solid (gives me an error) but succeded with ES. But when trying to copy face unlock content and call recording app afrer a restart they revert back as i never copied them. I'm using magisk as root option. Idk what i'm doing wrong

Ok, so i tried with X-Plore but i found a weird thing...
1) Face unlock doesn't work AT ALL for me (B562)
2) Call recording shows up in setting only if i soft reboot. If i reboot normally it reverts back (auto deletes apk in /system/app i guess)
Idk what to do. It sounds weird

Hello,
For 1), I tried on my Honor 8 AL00 (B540) and sadly face unlock doesn't detect my face... (the "call recording" feature seems already present in chinese firmwares so I didn't installed it.)
For 2), If you have installed "SafetyPatch" Magisk's module, that's the reason of your issue.
On my phone, "Advanced restart menu" => Bootloop.... so it's better to backup the original file first AND have a working custom recovery like TWRP!

Advanced menu works for me and no, i haven't installed SafetyPatch but my Safetinet is enforced...modifying it into permissive could fix my issues? What do you think?

I'm curious about how this advanced menu looks like, can you upload a screenshot?
I really don't know... Should be a specific Magisk's module that causes it...

I have no doubt that they're working, i've also made some of them to work, i've only problems with face unlock and call recording and idk why, because gestures and advanced menu are working normally as they should. However thanks for sharing...If you have any ideas let me know, i will try and report back
Ok, i've got it! I made everything to work. That's how i did it:
Face Unlock
I've followed your instruction for what regards "system" folder. What i made different was to copy the lines that you copied in product/etc/prop/local.prop there, BUT also in hw_oem/prop/local.prop. I've also copied facerecognize and hw_motion_config.xml into hw_oem/xml. Could be stupid but that worked!
Call Recording
That was easier. What i did was to copy the entire folder into system/priv-app instead system/app. That way i've got it to work.
Thanks for sharing, face unlock is almost useless because you have to turn screen on (yeah we don't have s9 and iris scanner lol) but it's cool anyway!

Hi there,
I really want to have advanced restart menu. I did like the Instruction told me, but nothing happens. Do I have to change something else?
Edit:
Works like it should somehow. Sorry for that.
