Some questions - Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi guys.
I have a Xioami Mi 8 Lite some months and so far I'm loving the phone.
But there are 3 questions that I like to ask and discuss.
1º Sometimes I have Wi-Fi signal in max and don't know why the cellphone doesn't download data. It kinda needs to refresh to get data again. Example I'm using facebook reading news and then start watching a video but the video doesn't download, I need to refresh facebook and then it works. My girlfriend has a Redmi Note 5 and this issue happens too. Anyone had this and how to resolve?
2º When I use an external DAC by usb otg the audio sometimes has some strange artifacts and noises. I can only use my DAC without problems with USB Audio Player Pro app since it bypasses android audio driver. Can I change some settings in order to resolve this problem and be able to use any audio app?
3º Is there an ETA for android 9 to be released?

2. I also use an external DAC from FiiO and it will work always good with following combination: USB Player Pro as you mention AND the good right cable. The cable Is the key. I use the very special small cable from FiiO and since then no problems. Search for the right cable.

I know that works with USB Audio Player Pro but I want to know is I can make it work with other apps too.

In my case, always have to start USB player Pro so that initializes the DAC. Then, after quiting the app, others can use it too, like poweramp or Tidal, Spotify.
Anyway for streaming and other apps, the built-in DAC is more than good enough to use, so I use it. Normally I use the DAC for high_resolution music files @24 but 96KHz and higher, in FLAC, DSD and MQA formats.

As far as I know android system bypasses internal dac when there is something conneted. USB Audio Player Pro has a proper driver to reproduce sound for external dac. The problem with USB Audio Player Pro is that a little expensive for an app to play music when there are tons of them which are free and maybe have more features.
The internal dac in my opinion is not that good enough. The sound sounds muffled and the amp is weak to drive headphones or in-ear phones with more impedance. I have an 1More Triple Driver and the sound from the internal dac suffers detail and power. With the DAC it becomes much better.

Agreed, DAC + double or triple drivers earphones are much better and I use them as much as I can. Again, try to find the right cable, that will make the difference. And most probably you can enjoy with other apps too.

It shouldn't be an OTG cable. I bought it locally at digitec. Ch, but I'm sure you'll find it on China / other online stores. Mine is USB-C to USB-B, there's also BtoB. Attached photo
