Issues and workarounds:
1. Guides moving to Treble ROMs.
2. Smart charging new feature (Settings > Battery > Smart Charging) is not working probably because it depends on kernel (which is not Treble). You can have the same functionality using Battery Charge Limit [ROOT] app.
3. Can't flash Gapps due to error 70 (insufficient storage space available in System partition)? In TWRP, just go to Wipe menu > Advanced Wipe > check System partition > Partition options > Resize FS. Then flash Gapps again.
4. Viper4Android working on GSI ROMs, please, try and thank here. The root apk install the driver and it's working like a charm
5. RAW support on cameras: Settings > Phh Treble Settings > Misc features > and select Expose Aux cameras (Qualcomm)
6. Message on each boot: "Android System: There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details" or "Vendor mismatch" error message before unlocking was solved changing true to false in file frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/havoc_config.xml, line 241: <bool name="config_show_vendor_mismatch_message">true</bool>. 2. Message on each boot: "Android System: There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details" or "Vendor mismatch" error message before unlocking:
A. In a root file manager, backup both \vendor\build.prop and \system\build.prop files.
B. Open \system\build.prop original file with a root text editor. Copy the line with ro.build.fingerprint variable, for instance:
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=Android/treble_arm64_bvN/phhgsi_arm64_ab:9/PQ1A.181105.017.A1/64:userdebug/test-keys
C. Open \vendor\build.prop original file with a root text editor. Find the the line with ro.build.fingerprint variable, for instance:
Code:
ro.vendor.build.fingerprint=motorola/nash/nash:8.0.0/OPXS27.109-34-10/5:user/release-keys
D. Paste the copied system variable over the vendor one (replace).

this is wrong. need to do vise versa, copying from vendor to system
and as i know need to change some more values in the system build.prop (for google play certification, sample)
anyway don't touch vendor! it will be not trable but trouble)))

3. If for any reason you lost Wi-Fi (or your Mac address become 02:00:00:00:00:00):
A. Get the apk file of the MacChanger app and install it in your phone without Wi-Fi.
B. Open it and grant root access. You'll see that your "Real" Mac address will be 02:00:00:00:00:00.
C. Then you have your "Fake" Mac Address. Copy it into the line "New Mac" and press "Hard change" button. You don't need even to reboot to restore your Wi-Fi.
Click to collapse
MAC address will be changed immediately after turning on Wi-Fi. and if Wi-Fi does not turn on then the problem is definitely not in the "wrong" MAC)
big thanks!!

I used this method myself a lot of times, i.e., from system to vendor.

Well, I stay one day trying to restore Wi-Fi in Treble ROMs. Read a lot, tried a lot. This worked for me and not *any* other methods.

it works because the values are the same (system->vendor). but this method is not correct, should be vendor->system
many users will be have problems with the definition of notch, with the headphones jack, with the certification of Google Play. remember my words)

Sure. I never had before either. And it's a vendor issue.

There are two bugs in the Xiaomi Mi Max 3: the SIM card signal is constantly disappearing (turning the power off and on again) the headset does not work (the sound comes out directly on the speakers.) I'm using Vendor Pie, is that the problem? ?
I was expecting a lot this rom to leave and work on my device
Thanks
edit: when I went to make a call, the screen of the smartphone turned black and nothing reappeared. I had to reset the phone, but it went into bootloop.

Which is your default call app? Is the system one or another. Maybe it should be marked as default app and/or add rights to be over other apps.

Sorry guys: Dialer also stopped for me. I need to wait for devs to release new updated sources and compile again to see if they will work. I'm only compiling the ROM. Right now, maybe moving to LiquidRemix to see if we got more luck.
But, Bluetooth is working for me.

Yes it REQUIRES 64 bit recovery
I installed.
They must be beautiful, finally when you connect the phone to the PC automatically MTP.
Everything works even changing the thema based on the cute background is complete with all the various settings and all work, another little thing the LED does not turn on during charging but works well with notifications.
The camera talk, there are even 2 but I think that until it comes out official hours or the only really working alternative remains Footje Camera that in this case also saves on an external sd card.
It really has all the various settings RR style beautiful complete excellent construction.
Let's say that on the sw side is ok, now you should be able to find what is creating that continuous noise during calls that forces me to re-install the stock on time.
However, great work, thank you.
The camera app doesn't take Hdr+ photos and when i tried to take videos or panorama photos the camera app force closes and Essentials app doesn't open and Updates section in setting doesn't open to

HDR needs oreo blobs, and as for the Essentials apps and updates section, flash gapps. I can open them perfectly. I'll release screenshots to prove it. Stop reporting fake errors.

If you faced these errors, it's because of something you did. None of my testers report a single issue with Essentials or Updates. As for the camera, it won't be fixed fully until oreo stock releases
There's no 8.1 gapps on opengapps, which ones should I use?

Unfortunately, lineage su hasn't released for oreo yet. You could try superSU, although it hasn't been tested yet.

For God! What a magnificent rom! Beautiful, fluid, and does not have so many problems (the best 8.1 so far) sorry this bad English (BR)
Yeah, having only tried this one and unofficial lineageos 15.1 this is by far the most stable, fast and fluid of the 2
SuperSU rooting method confirmed to be working ok
Don't know if this is the expected behavior but I'll report anyway, after the initial boot com.android.phone FC constantly and none of the 2 sim cards was recognized. The phone suddenly reboot itself and everything worked perfectly. Using an xt1676 16/3/dual sim

Screw'd was created to be a more optimized and speedy ROM for Nexus & Pixel devices. We combine the best features with a slimmed down base to give you one of the fastest, feature-filled ROMs available. Screw’d is updated, compiled, and tested daily to ensure that we use the latest, stable code base straight from AOSP (Android Open Source Project). This means that we stay up-to-date with Google’s security patches and features, and we’ll never add code that isn’t required. We also post ALL of our source code so you can see all of the changes we make, and even compile Screw’d yourself. Although Screw’d was originally created for Nexus devices in mind, it is possible to port our ROM to work with other devices. As proof, we have ported Screw’d to non-Nexus devices such as the OnePlus 5.

How To Flash:
- Make sure that you are using the most up to date version of TWRP ( Version. 3.2.1)
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe the following partitions: System + Data + Cache + Dalvik ART Cache)
- Flash the latest version of the ROM
- Flash any of the recommended GAPPS linked below
- Flash Magisk / SuperSU if you want root.
- Reboot and you should be good. ENJOY!!

Great build... Thanks a lot dev... For bringing another rom for potter.. Spending your precious time on working for the development of rom.
This ROM is looking & running really nice so far, have just installed & setup but with no issues at all. You should mention the KCAL support in default kernel, and I also greatly prefer the stock/square-or-default-shape icons. Never thought I'd be this glad to get screw'd!
Very nice ROM still didn't find any issues working very well thanks dev
awesome job on putting omniswitch into this; afaik, this is the only rom other than omni that has it!
has anyone tested microg on this? also, my nano or higher on the gapps?

I'm using the micro 20180423 gapps with no issues, but don't use microg. Where is omni switch? I don't see any icon and can't find it in the custom settings. I'm using Lawnchair launcher though, so if it's part of the Pixel launcher that would explain why I can't.
Anybody having BT calling issues? I haven't flashed yet but want to try this out but that is important to me. If anybody tries please give feedback. Thanks in advance

I haven't flashed yet, so I'm not sure... I just noticed it listed under "Recents" in the info section... perhaps it's in Screw'd's custom settings?

No, omniswitch is not there yet but it may be planned to add in the future, maybe OP can say. I haven't compared everything else on the features list but believe most of it is available in the current version.

Yeah, just flashed and can confirm omniswitch is nowhere... irritating because that's the reason I flashed. Looks like it's back to Omni...
Can't receive or make calls!!!
I'm retired & mainly use my land line but noticed today that incoming cell calls weren't ringing but going straight to voicemail, then when trying to call vm the call immediately ends, and trying a couple other outbound calls the same thing happens. Restored my Validus backup and all calling is working fine with the same exact setup. It may be something just affecting me or a bad install, but are others able to make/receive calls ok?
EDIT: Problem solved by resetting preferred network type to Global, had changed it to LTE.

I have seen this issue with the ROM, as well. I clean flashed and mobile network was not working (att). I restarted and the network came back. You may want to try that. Once working, it seems to be stable.

Had the exact same issue as you, was traveling at the time and my data just crapped out. Couldn't reconnect even after reboot, only changing roms fixed the issue. US unlocked 64GB variant and cricket wireless.

I found the problem which was self-inflicted - under preferred network type I had changed it from Global to LTE (usually there is a different short 3-choice list there where I always select LTE) thinking it was set incorrectly, so after reselecting Global my cell calling works fine. Actually my cellular data was working well despite that wrong setting yesterday while I was out, but I didn't use it for very long.

You can find more detailed information on what is a GSI and how to flash it on phhusson treble wiki. You will also find there user feedback about GSI flashing and usage for many devices.
The basic steps for flashing a GSI are:
1. Download the GSI from the links above, and uncompress it.
2. Wipe Data, Dalvik, and Cache.
3. Remove Magisk if it was previously installed, by using its uninstaller script. Magisk files are stored in the kernel image, and in the /data/adb folder, which are left untouched when wiping data and flashing the GSI. Another option is to flash your stock rom and manually delete the content of the /data/adb folder.
4. Flash the GSI to system partition (AB devices : flashing a vbmeta.img file for your device may also be required).
5. Boot and perform a factory reset.
6. (Optional) Reboot and flash GApps, Magisk, and maybe additional files (see below, GSI Specific Information). If you don't flash GApps with the MagicGapps Magisk module, you may have to resize your system partition in TWRP.
7. Reboot and Enjoy.
If you want to update a previous installation of the Havoc-OS GSI, you can also always try to dirty flash, i.e. wipe Dalvik and Cache (not Data) and flash System image. But if you experience a strange behavior, a clean flash may be required.

GSI Specific Information
Bootloops:
SELinux issues: You can try to use this patch, or any other that could work, in order to make your kernel boot in permissive mode. Custom kernels for your device may also help. Incompatibilities exist between ROMs and vendor SELinux policies, that can cause bootloops. Some progress has been made since old builds with improving Havoc's sepolicy (big thanks to @phhusson for giving explanations and pointing me out with the good tools), but some problems may remain.
Bootanimation issues: In some devices, the bootanimation itself may cause a bootloop. I don't want to remove the bootanimation for everyone as I find it pretty nice, so please remove yourself the file /system/media/bootanimation.zip.
Send logs: this may help me to understand the problem, help you to boot, and perhaps improve the GSI for everyone. To get logs:
Do not use TWRP built-in "Copy Log" or "Save Log" function: It saves logs of the kernel running the recovery, not the logs of the kernel running the previous GSI boot.
Kernel log: After a trial, reboot directly to TWRP, plug your device, and issue the following command on your computer:
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/last_kmsg > kmsg.txt
If you cannot plug your phone and/or use adb, you can use the Terminal in TWRP, and issue the following command:
Code:
cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/kmsg.txt
The file will be in your home storage place. If you don't have the sdcard folder, you may save the file in /data instead.
Logcat: As soon as you see the bootanimation or have succesfully booted, you may get a logcat. Plug your device and issue the command:
Code:
adb shell logcat -b all > logcat.txt
It will register everything that happens in your phone. When you want to stop the record, type Ctrl-C.
If you have booted, you can also use an app, like Logcat Reader from the Play Store.
Bug fixes: Some fixes for long-lasting bugs, or specific version bugs
External sdcard access / DocumentsUI missing: In release 20190712, I made an attempt to replace DocumentsUI by Amaze file manager, in order to solve the DocumentsUI crashing for some devices. However, DocumentsUI must still be present for managing external sdcards and maybe some other reasons. Here are two patches, for A and A/B architectures:
View attachment ExtSDFix.zip for arm64-a, arm-a, a64-a, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79899582&postcount=1250
View attachment docUIfixAB__zero.zip for arm64-ab, from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79902466&postcount=1262
===> no more needed since v2.8
SoundPicker crashing: First option, it may be updated from the Play Store. If it's not the case, you can try to flash View attachment fixSoundPicker.zip in TWRP, provided by @gxfuzion92 here. If that does not work, try View attachment fixSoundPicker2.zip. If it still does not work, or if you prefer that solution, install the apk from apkmirror.
Equalizer/MusicFX crashing: In the last update (20190708), I made an attempt to replace MusicFX by a reworked version, and apparently there are some problems. It will be reverted in next release. Flash View attachment fixMusicFX.zip in TWRP.
Goodies: A few specific improvements, not guaranteed to work for everyone...
Overlays:
Automatic Brightness: Flash View attachment enableAutoBrightness-twrp.zip in TWRP. A specific overlay for your device may be missing in Phh overlay collection, for automatic brightness or other features. I encourage you to submit new ones for missing devices. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-auto-brightness.apk in /vendor/overlay.
Always On Display (AOD): If you have an AMOLED screen and your device never triggers doze (deep sleep) while in AOD, flash View attachment enableAOD-twrp.zip in TWRP. The reason is the same as above, a missing overlay for your device. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-aod.apk in /vendor/overlay.
Hide notch: If your display has a notch, you can enable the cutout controller which will permit to hide it or leave its foreground black (Havoc settings -> Screen -> Display Cutout) by flashing View attachment enableCutoutController-twrp.zip in TWRP. This property is Havoc dependent, so do not submit an overlay that enables it to Phh overlay collection. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-cutout.apk in /vendor/overlay.
Smart Charging: If Smart Charging does not work for you, look in the directory /sys/class/power_supply/battery/, and if you see a file named:
input_suspend: flash View attachment enableSmartCharging-input_suspend.zip in TWRP. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-smart-charging-input_suspend.apk in /vendor/overlay.
batt_slate_mode: flash View attachment enableSmartCharging-batt_slate_mode.zip in TWRP. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-smart-charging-batt_slate_mode.apk in /vendor/overlay.
charging_enabled: flash View attachment enableSmartCharging-charging_enabled.zip in TWRP. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-smart-charging-charging_enabled.apk in /vendor/overlay.
battery_charging_enabled: flash View attachment enableSmartCharging-battery_charging_enabled.zip in TWRP. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-smart-charging-battery_charging_enabled.apk in /vendor/overlay.
None of them, or you don't have this directory: forget Smart Charging, or find yourself the file for which the command "echo 0 > your_file" or "echo 1 > your_file" enables or disables charging; and let me know.
Applications:
VoLTE: For Qualcomm based devices (not mtk, not exynos...), you may enable VoLTE by installing the file View attachment ims.apk as a normal application. You may also need to flash View attachment enableVoLTE-twrp.zip in TWRP. This flashable zip will install the file treble-overlay-volte.apk in /vendor/overlay.
Magisk modules:
Bluetooth incall / A2DP issues: If BT incall does not work and your device has a Qualcomm SOC, you may try the Magisk module View attachment GSIBtFix.zip. It implements the method described here and here. A2DP should still work.
===> this module should be no more needed since v2.8 thanks to this commit
ViPER4Android FX Magisk module: if your device belongs to the following list, you will not be able to install the driver: ali, beryllium, cepheus, cereus, dipper, equuleus, grus, hannah, james, nitrogen, nora, perseus, pettyl, platina, polaris, raphael, sirius, ursa. You can try to install the Magisk module View attachment GSIV4AEnabler.zip which will permit V4A driver to be installed (ViPER4Android FX required).

Yes, the build is up-to-date with today's source trees, which have been recently updated to r37.
fingerprint just work in every boot-up!it is not fully functional!(device: redmi 3 pro---the official old havoc gsi has a fully functional fingerprint for me)
this is the first GSI that i tried and did not any alert in each boot-up(such as internal problem or vendor mismatch)
your build of havoc is perfect but without fingerprint i can not handle it!
But Good Job
what's wrong with havoc 2.5 it just make gboard more beautiful and even i see colors softer than before(Or maybe whats wrong with my eyes)
i have problems with my SIM, is going crazy ON/OFF
Edit: Nevermind, is working great, is a SIM problem related to my service provider.
Thanks for the build man C:

Can you boot with another GSI?
@vince31fr, the Sim card signal is constantly on and off. I've had this problem with another version of Havoc. At least in this version, the phone's input works. Would you know how to fix this signal problem? My device is a Mi Max 3 (A-only). Thankful.

Not for now. I'm only have the UMidigi, but in 2 weeks I hve a Lenovo k5 Pro but I don't now what is their GSI (if arm a or b, or arm64 a or b).
Working great on moto g6 xt1925-6. Getting google play certified took a few minutes but no glitches or problems booting at all. I'm on latest stock pie base pps29.55-35 in case others with same device want to give it a try. Thanks for making an "arm a only" for us that can't run 64 bit on our devices. Cheers
ZTE AXON 7 A2017G works fine except for wifi hotspot. It's giving error even when appropriate fix applied. NFC OK.

fingerprint just work in every boot-up!it is not fully functional!(device: redmi 3 pro---the official old havoc gsi has a fully functional fingerprint for me)
this is the first GSI that i tried and did not any alert in each boot-up(such as internal problem or vendor mismatch)
your build of havoc is perfect but without fingerprint i can not handle it!
But Good Job
what's wrong with havoc 2.5 it just make gboard more beautiful and even i see colors softer than before(Or maybe whats wrong with my eyes)

Cheers

excellent work BRO
This rom passes the SafetyNet status check out of the box, it does not require root and additional tools, such as magisk and modules.

excellent work, I would like to see the official version
Working great. Only problem with camera, it's terrible. I removed it with LuckyPatcher and install standart Moto Camera 2 from market.
any quicker mirrors available? really slow download
Slow
Someone else's mobile is encouraged after a few days of use, or only that happens to me, it is only solved by restarting everything
Great rom. Thank you! Getting ctsProfile "false" for SafetyNet. Any suggestions?
EDIT: fixed with MagiskHide Props Config (using moto g7 profile)
Been using this is my daily driver for a week now.. working great, except does not seem Bluetooth microphone is working with my headsets. Can anyone else confirm if it works for them?
BT mic resolves by rebooting whenever it goes dead.
Was hoping to stay on this ROM, but should I assume from the lack of responses that this build will not be supported?

Probably not, no. The developer hasn't posted in ages and the last update of the ROM is also a few months old by now.

Kinda what I was picking up as well. Unfortunate, it really is a smooth ROM for this devices. Only non-stock one I was able to get SafetyNet to pass AND all my banking/payment apps to work cleanly on.
Well, i tried this rom for a week now, i havent found any major issue, but the rom is very slow, when i unlock the fone with the fingerprint it takes some good 3 seconds to completely unlock, when im watching youtube and i change to landscape mode it takes also a good 3 to 5 seconds to do it, its a very feature rich rom but very slow for my taste, i know that the phone is a budget phone but i know that it can be faster so ill be switching to another rom, aside from that i really like it, it has tons of customization available.

It hasn't been updated in quite a while, probably due to the dev cooking too many ROMs and over-extending himself..

Try his Havoc ROM. I've been using it for about a week now and it runs very smoothly. Response is good and battery life is excellent. The latest version is 7/14 and it has July security update.

Agreed.. don't want to hop onto another unsupported ROM. Much appreciation to the Dev for putting these out, but would be nice if they mentioned it was going to be a one-hitter up front.
I'm sorry,I want to ask what do you mean by "IF COMING FROM STOCK", it's like a MI phone with a MIUI?
If my g7 plus with ZUI os, do I flash "copy-partitions-AB.zip" first?
btw my ZUI os is base of Android 9.
thanks.

This "stock" does not specify what kind of rom it is, but refers to the original ROM of the mobile phone brand?
Like MI phone with MIUI os or HTC phone with HTCSense os?

Yes, if you flash from cfw to this ROM, I think you would need a firmware file or flash latest MIUI ROM first. Maybe @ranvirsuph could update the OP to include instructions when flashing from cfw.
Maybe similar to this
I would be kinda interested in this ROM, cause I used it on redmi 7 before and liked it.
I'm currently running Pixel Experience and wonder how I would flash from there? Just how it is described? I don't have a CFW.
Just wanna make sure, b/c I "bricked" it multiple times before I got something running, but I'm not very happy with PE.

I'm pretty sure you would just flash as described in the OP. No need for anything special if you're just coming from non-cfw ROM.
Thanks, I just did it and it works.
Runs (for now) really smooth.
Cams work
Root with Magisk works
Bootloop with Smali Patcher (Issue with them, just wanna add it here)
Some Issues:
Can't restore Backup, it just crashes and bring's me back to the Wifi settings.
Settings keep crashing sometimes. For example when changing text size. But it still changes it.
Doesnt turn off touch vibration for keyboard. (Haptic virbration)
What recovery do you have installed?
Pretty sure it's the same as linked in the OP, at least it has the same name as the one I had already installed.
If it is about the backup: I meant restoring a Backup with Google, not a Backup made by TWRP. Sorry for not being clear enough. Could be just a service missing from Google, b/c I just installed the nano gApps.
Another issue is the age old bluetooth. Havent done much testing yet, but I had to restart the phone to get it to work. Turning off eveything (Wifi/Mobile/BT) and then turning on only BT didnt work this time.
Edit: Didnt turn off location, b/c I forgot about it. But of course, it would be better not to turn off everything every time I wanna connect something over BT.
A feature request: Floating windows, like the ones in MIUI 12.
