F900F Combination (Factory Binary) File Here - Samsung Galaxy Fold Guides, News, & Discussion

Early access for those of you who know what this is, and want to see what you can find inside. I compress extra small for storage and bandwidth savings, so you'll need 7zip or WinRAR etc to extract - the default Windows unzipper can't handle it.
Retail firmware should be coming soon, and I'll put up another thread once I have access to it.

[Q] Anyone have Northeast 1.2 GPS Script?

I think I'm getting a corrupted download from the FTP site, CWR won't install the .zip, says it's bad. Anyone have Northeast 1.2 and can post it or send it to me?
My GPS was great before but after I upgraded the radio I can't get a lock at all.
Here you go, I've enclosed the zip. If it still won't work for you what I do is just update the file in the rom and flash that. Which in this case would be system/etc/gps.conf. I've always kept a copy of the rom on my memory card and update it as needed. What I do is move the rom and whatever the other zip is to my desktop and use 7-zip to "open archive" on both zip files. I do this on my desktop because I get more consistent results versus trying to do it on the sd card. You can either delete the file in the rom and drag/drop the new gps.conf into it or you can right-click the file "edit" copy/paste the text into gps.conf. You could use adb to do this I'm sure but I for one am too lazy/stupid to download, figure out and use it. Using the above method I've updated/replaced "all" the google apps, updated the hosts file, modified the build.prop, tried a couple different gps scripts and I have a completely updated rom (Liberated 2.2.2). And the updates for the google apps aren't stealing internal storage.
If you use GPS Status (free download) reset and download new assistance data.
Awesome thanks!

(Tool) Compare files.

First off I have nothing to do with the creation of this tool I'm merely sharing what I've found.
Anyone who has dug into smali files knows that they can be somewhat overwhelming and trying to track down a problem can be a time consuming nightmare. One thing I do to hunt down a problem is compare what I know to be working against what is broken so I was sitting here today thinking that I would write a script or create a tool to batch compare files then I said to myself "EB, you're not the first one that's wanted to do this so there must already be something." I fired up Google and sure enough there are a few. The one that I found that is free and handled my task can be found here http://www.grigsoft.com/download-windiff.htm
Quick tutorial;
1. Download the file.
2. Create a new folder (anywhere you want)
3. Extract the contents to your new folder
4. Place the items you want to compare in that folder (they can be anywhere really but it's simpler to have them in the same directory.)(For my purposes I de-compiled the classes.dex of two framework.jar files and moved the entire output files to this directory in two separate folders.)
5. Run the program
6. Select File
7. Select either Compare Directory (what I did for my purpose) or Compare files. A dialogue box will pop up where you select the 2 sources that you want to compare.
Now this tool will only output what files are changed. There are other tools out there that can do more but I like the ones that are free. At least with this I can scan hundreds of files at once and see where I need to begin
if you want to search for code in multiple files and what not else,
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
has a great program for that
You can search inside the files of a whole folder if you want to....pretty cool

[Q] How to create a custom ROM for SmartQ Ten3 T15?

Hi all,
I have a SmartQ ten3 T15 Android 4.0 tablet (TI OMAP 4430 SoC) on the way to me from China.
As I like to have all files on hand before gadgets arrive, I downloaded the standard firmware yesterday from the SmartQ website.
As I read somewhere (don't know where) that sometimes firmware files are zip files I renamed the extention-less firmware file to .zip and I could just open the file with winrar and extract the complete file structure of this ROM.
That got me thinking of creating my own ROM files, but first I'd like to have some questions answered by people with experience doing this.
Normal firmware update on this tablet is done via micro SD card, and by entering a boot option while holding down certain keys.
The questions:
- Is it as easy as putting in or taking out the files in the folder structure, zip the files and remove the extention and update it to the tablet?
- Winrar says the file is signed with signApk, but this also seems a very straightforward procedure to signing my own ROM's. Or will the tablet only accept files signed with their certificates?
- Anybody else have experience with firmware files for other devices who work the same way? And do you have tips for me?
One of the things I'm trying to achieve is getting bluetooth and FM to work, the hardware supports it but it is disabled by firmware.
And further on I would just like to customize the tablet further, by removing apps and adding my own and so on.
Thanks in advance for your help.

extract system.img for editing

does anyone know how to open up this file to mess around with? tried all the 7zip tricks i know, trieds the unyaffs method, tried the unyaffs method in my cygwin folder too, cant do it. theres too a small a limit on the size of files poweriso and magiciso can do. im avoiding buying a full version (or stealing a key) as im sure theres a workaround
Edit, never mind, just using the kitchen and pulling the apps

[Q] Language settings, JP audio w/EN subs and text, Final Fantasy IV

Hello all. I recently bought Final Fantasy IV and was disappointed to find there was no language setting in the game that I could find. Ideally, I would like to play with Japanese audio and English subtitles. Launching normally under USA locale plays English vocals and subtitles. I was afraid that the Play store variant would only come with English audio, but I found by changing my Nexus 7 language settings to Japanese, that it would in fact contain and play with JP audio and JP subtitles. I can't understand why , this being the case that there isn't an easy in application language switching option that I can see.
All the components are there. Does anyone know how I could somehow edit the files to play JP audio and English subs? Copy the JP audio track to the English version of the game seems the most straightforward , if I could figure a way to do it. Anyone have ideas for this process? Programs I will need to unpack the apk or game data and edit what needs to be etc...? Thanks.
To th ebest of my knowledge, it appears that I'll probably need to unpack the .obb file somehow. The .apk is small. Does anyone know of an suitable utilities to unpack and repack/sign if need be .obb an/o .apk firles?
I've seen a few posts on the forum suggesting that I simply rename the .obb to .zip, .rar etc... and it will simply be able to be extracted. Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case. I've been attempting to use 7zip to extract the archive with a number of renamed file types and every time it claims that it doesn't seem to be a valid archive etc.... Others have suggested 7zip works for this in other cases, but I'm not sure why it is failing now. Do I need to use a specific program to see if it is a valid archive?
Edit: I also tried with WinRAR and to no effect - the same problem where it reports that there is no archive present etc...
At the moment I'm trying this with an edited/sideload ready version of FFIV 1.2.3 (which has both the .apk file of a few megabytes and the .obb of a few hundred megabytes), at least until I can pull the exact copy off my device. I'd really appreciate any insight. What do I need to open/extract the .obb and why is it not appearing with 7zip? Thanks.
I'm going to try and get another copy of the files from another source (pulled directly from my Nexus 7 or Nexus 4) onto my Windows PC etc...

Huh... I'm not sure how to help you too. Just a simple beginner. But using .zip or .rar worked for me. Just that the file names were all long and weird. Also, every file appears as a .file extension
open obb file
Hi,
did you tried to open *.obb using "jobb" application from Android SDK?
