Problem with compression of files - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there
Recently I was try compress an image folder with the Huawei stock file manager. That folder has a "." I was added before the compression To keep them secret. For my bad luck I was changed my mind and I stop the compression before it's done.
Now I lost my folder and all of my image's. And the only way to see anything about that folder is by using es file manager but there is no folder anymore only a file with the name of folder and 0 of bytes.
I try to connect my phone to a PC and see the files in my SD card with no luck.
I can't believe that I lost all of my work so simple...
Any ideas was accepted

I was found the solution.
I have to just get out the SD card and put in card reader in my pc and magical the folder is ok. I was create a new folder and I transfer all that files of the original folder. Then I Get back to phone the SD card and woohoo all the files is ok now as before.

[Q] gtab erases some music files leaves others

i put a 32 gb micro card in the tab after loading about 2gb of music on it, it found the card then only recognized about ten files while either deleting or replacing the remaining files with numbered files that come up as unreadable format. i have placed a folder labeled no media but that seems not to work. even sent it back to viewsonic and they reset it to factory ( i did that also) sent it back and it stil does it . any suggestions would be appreciated. its a stock gtab no mods
This is a known issue on some mods, although I didn't know stock also suffered from this problem. You need to create a file named ".nomedia" and place it in either the root directory, or the directory where you store your media. Note that you cannot create this file in Windows. Mac or linux may be able to, but the easiest way is to use a file explorer like ES File explorer, which has the ability to create a file.
thanks for the tip
i will give it a try and let you know what happened,
nope not working
tried as you advised , made a .nomedia file reloaded the sd card put it in wanting the world and the same thing happened. all but a few files were left and then there were 20 to 30 numbered files where there used to be mp3 folders.plus if i select one of these files it says unable to open this file type

[Q] Wallpaper delete

How to delete the wallpaper file permently. The file .thumbnails keeps coming back, loads to my sd card and shows up with my pictures in the grid. I deleted it from my sd and my nook by deticking all boxes in prefernces and deleted the file. Then when I did a reboot there they were again. I would like to get them gone !!!!!!
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but if there's a specific folder you do not want to appear in your gallery, you can stop it from showing up by adding a file called ".nomedia" (no quotes) to the folder.
I found the .nomedia file and tried to get the thumbs put in it they won't go, but I got the .nomedia put in the .thumbnails file and then deleted them, don't know if this will work??????? I don't have the wallpaper in my media now so I'll just wait and see. I'm not to savy on this stuff. thank you for the hint.
Well I had to turn my nook off, because video on pulse locked, and the wallpapers are back. They must be part of the boot up so I don't have a clue what to do now. I just did a bunch of deleting, cutting the file to my computer and the software in the nook just makes a copy of all my files on my sd card and puts them in the .thumbnails folder. My files on the sd are still where they should be. What's next??????
Where is this folder located? Is the .nomedia file still there?
The file is in the B&N download folder and is still there in both nook & sd.

Files not showing on pc

I've got a few films on my phone which play fine. But some won't show up on the pc as being on my phones sd card when I look at the folder. From what I can see the file types are the same as the ones that do show up.
I also have the problem that when I go to delete some files (some. Video some apk) they don't delete. It doesn't say there was a problem deleting them and the file size is 0 but the file name still shows. So they do not show up on pc do I delete them in the phone but they still show.
Hope this makes sense
Anyone?
Double post.
Don't know this could help
I have ever got this experience. I accidentally renamed some file(data) in phone Sd like original file name is "xxxx" to " .xxxx" after renamed I couldn't see that file from phone Sd even via PC(when usb connected) but I knew it still in Sd because it took lot of my internal Sd Space. I tried install root explorer app(your phone need rooted) and got into sd again now I could see that file then I could delete it successfully.
ive just tried to put a music track in a folder thats in my music folder in ext sd but its only showing a handfull of the folders.
so say i try to make a new folder and name it the same as the one im trying to put it in e.g "live" the folder wont rename . but i can rename it with a new name.
this is really winding me up
just noticed none of the things show up if i look vie kies either
a workable solution.....connect your SD to your PC via USB or SD slot....copy all SD content onto the PC....format the SD.....move it back to the phone....connect the phone to the PC via USB......move back the content to the SD
unmounted my sd , put it in my card reader , but my card reader must be faulty . put the sd back in the phone and all the files are showing up again lol
thanks for your help, i should have thought of that really

Lost files using Hide it pro

Please help me i've tried everithing...
I have a very large stash of pics that I kieep in Hide it pro app. I've set the app to unhide to a folder and them move that folder to the pc. when I tryed to open the folder on the PC I saw that there was only one photo inside (the first one) all the other 200 where lost.
I've run to the vault directory of hide it pro and there were the files, try to copy them and it was impossible, so I reboot the phone and the files were gone. GONE!
Now I've try to recover them with disk digger and other recovery software without any luck. If I could I would made a complete backup of the phone internal memory and them mount it has a drive and simply use recuva to get the files. But the process is to hard to understand and I can't see to know how to copy all content using adb not to the sd card but to the PC. My sd card is smaller than the internal memory so it'll not be able to acomodate a raw file from that size (64gb).
Any ideas? I believe that the files are simply lost on a regular hard drive or sd card it'll be easy but on the phone internal memory is a hell of a problem to get them out. Note that I must find the photos that are now archives with a changed name, hide it pro changes the file name...
please help.. thank you
Usually two or three people a week post about deleted files, search and read for hundreds of examples. It is possible to dump a raw file with ADB but you're trying to unscramble eggs.
