Oleophobic screen protectors..

Are they worth getting?? I'm currently using matte screen protectors and hate how they make the screen look. A bit distorted and pretty obvious looking. Anyone care to share their experience with them??

So, tell us what you got, where you bought it and how easy was it to install.
Purchased on amazon.
Took me two tries to get it perfectly positioned onto the phone. Looks great, feels great! Tried many other screen protectors (both wet and dry) and this has to be the best one to date. Comes in a pack of two as well. And you cant go wrong with the reviews. Havent posted a review on amazon yet but i will soon

Oleophobic is an anti-fingerprint technology used on screen protectors and display panels. Theyll pretty much give you the same anti-fingerprint results as you would on the gnex. Gnex is the only phone i know that currently uses a Oleophobic screen panel. Try a gnex and see for yourself. I had one so i can actually say from experience that the stuff does work

I bought these and never could get one installed. I gave up.
I can't get the realook ones installed either. I have millions of bubbles. Any advice? I installed it in the bathroom, sprayed water, etc etc and still have bubbles.
Check out the halo screen protectors on amazon.. They're pretty cheap - i think 6 bucks for a pack of 3. Pretty easy dry install and looks great..

I admit that they were a bit difficult to to properly position them onto the screen. Theyre cut exactly the same size as the screen. I have steady hands so it didnt tale me long at all. Just a little tip, i started applying the screen protector from left to right insteat of from top to bottom. I also held the phone upside down to avoid any debris. I did get a half bubble near the front camera

Those halo screen protectors are just as good as the cheap ebay ones. I used one previously and got tons of scratches and scuffs. Theyll definitely do the job though

This Stuff is Crap . I have it on for about 1 week and now scratches are everywhere (phone is well taken care, always in Jean pocket with no keys, no card, nothing ).
RealLook is GREAT. I regretted that I didn't get it in the first place. RealLook has been on my Samsung Vibrant for over 1 year and there are very few scratches here and there but not noticeable when the screen is on.
I installed the Reallook scren protector last night and it took me a very long time to get it bubble free. It's cut to the exact dimensions of the actual screen so if you are even slightly off alignment, then the film will sit elevated off the Rezound's glass resulting in bubbles.
Having said that it doesn't appear to be any different in composition than the 3 pack scren protector that Verizon sells in their store. This is particularly disappointing since it doesn't resist fingerprints as advertised. Reallook suffers from oily smudges from use although when installed properly, it is very clear and feels smooth like glass.
I will probably keep this on for the time being, but when I have a chane I will return to using the water based films from Bestskinever. Those tend to resist smudges better IMHO.

RhinoShield CrashGuard Bumper Case worth it? (11ft drop Protection?)

I've heard about the RhinoShield CrashGuard Bumper Cases. Apparently, they can withstand 11ft drops on concrete. Has anyone had any experience with them in the past? Do they hold up? I am deathly afraid of cracking my S8 Plus but also find the idea of covering up my GORGEOUS phone with a case to be stupid. Thoughts?

Do you recommend it for a balance of protection and minimalism?
I do. When I had it in my s6 I put a slick wrap skin on the back and a tempered glass on th the front.

I had one on my Note 5 with a Dbrand skin, they didn't make one for the S7 Edge or a Note 7. I pre-ordered and it's supposed to ship next week. Only downside I had is it takes a while for the buttons to break in because they are a little stiff.
I had/have on my s7. I also have the back and front protection. My s7 is still in perfect condition. it's taken a few normal drops and handled them with ease. I pre-ordered for my s8. I totally trust it and love the minimalist look with awesome protection. I even put one on my daughter's iphone 7. Flawless performance. I do change up cases occasionally, but always come back to my Rhinoshield band.
Am more interested in the screen protector from Rhino, and wondering if any tried it.. They were the only company that made full adhesive screen protector (glass) for pixel xl.. So wondering how will this end up to be.. No mention in the website if the screen protector is full adhesive or not.. I guess i will have to wait and see when i receive it..
My only issue with the rhinoshield bumpers in the past is that it adds too much extra width (it has to I guess to provide the protection it does).
Too much extra width? It's like a a mm or 2. I loved it on my s7. Survived some nasty drops. I don't know about this one with the more curved edges though. I got a spigen neo hybrid.
Really liked it on my Nexus 6! Was bummed they didn't make it for my Nexus 6P...
I ordered mine last week, it has been shipped today.

Official Samsung S8+ Screen Protector Review

Well I have been struggling to find a decent screen protector untill now.
Online there were alot of terrible reviews on most protectors due to the protectors not sticking. They lift after a few days, reduce the touch sensitivity. The good ones have a sort of dot matrix you can see when the screen is tilted certain ways. So I thought I'd order the genuine Samsung ones I thought hey who better than the manufacture.
I wasn't holding up much hope but I was pleasantly surprised. It isn't a glass protector and it isn't quite the film protectors. It's a little thicker the clarity is crystal clear and the feel is nice. It works with certain cases but not huge bulky ones. I tend to use a case for work and I have a skin on the rear of the phone to stop scratches and a screen protector on the front. Touch wood I haven't broken a phone yet. I want it looking nice and shiny after a year so not to bothered hiding it with a skin.
I will update this review in 7 days after using it in my day to day life. The protector has adhesive all over and is easy to fit as the outer protector has two alignment tabs to hold and a white line the matches perfectly to the bottom and top edges of where the screen starts so you can align perfectly.
I purchased mine in the UK for £14.99 you get 2 in the packaging which is pretty substanical so they shouldn't loss there shape when posting either.
Feel free to ask any questions
Happy reading and happy purchasing.
If you have this protector please write how your experience with it has been so far.
Just ordered these too as I found a very faint scratch on my screen.
Let me know how you get on mate.

Please keep us posted on this thanks.
5 days later so far so good the screen protector also works with a tech 21 clear impact case! It hasn't lifted as of yet. Tiny bit of dust being collected by the very edges ever so slight other than that it's perfect.
I'm also wondering how it's doing. Does the protector cover right up to the edge where it meets with the medal? How's it feel...like olephobic coating and feeling smooth...not rubbery.
It is holding up perfect for my usage one issue which I caused I nicked the bottom of the protector which has caused it to tear ever so slightly my fault for taking it out of a case. It feels perfect for me you can tell it isn't the glass but it isn't a bad feel.
The dust collecting on the edges is seriously getting on my nerves. The ocd in me wants to rip the protector off and the other part of me can't stand the small faint marks I have on the screen.
Thank you thumbs up

Make sure u trim the corners a little first before applying or it'll lift at some point on the corners I'd ur not perfectly straight with ur application. I took about 1-2mm off mine by following the contours of the corners. It's perfect now.
Despite Spigen advertising to apply it with the case on and that its "case friendly"... Its not perfect. By trimming it slightly before application you'll avoid it lifting.

Agree I had mine since day one and it's perfect with every single case. And I test a few glass screen protectors without luck. As much as I like glass this oficial screen protector seems like a protector made by spigen because of his quality.
Anyone uses a bumper/case compatible with this screen protection ?

Thin yet protective cases for the s8?

Hi, I will be buying my S8 very soon and am having trouble picking out a good case for it. The most important aspect of this case is that it is not very wide because the width of the s8 is pretty much the perfect size for me. However, most thin cases I find don't offer much protection, especially for face-down drops. I had this same problem with my S7 edge and really dislike the size of my current case. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Spigen thin case.
Using since release, tried others, always came back to this quickly.

NB, also tried quite a few screen protectors. Taken all of them off within 5 minutes.
Apart from this one, works with that case really well.
Wings tuck under the case round the curved edges.
Not perfect, but good.

I'm using the Tech 21 Evo Check. The transparent black looks great on my black s8+, plus it adds decent protection without making it any bulkier.
I'm using Spigen's Neo Hybrid cover and it feels very sturdy, yet slim.

Similarly, I got the Gunmetal with Orchid Grey and it looks incredible. Not one whole piece like Black, but the metal color really goes with the ambiguous Grey.

I am using same, dropped phone 3 times, approx 1 to 1.5ft landed on screen at least once, The case small lip on screen top and bottom kept the drop from affecting the screen.
I will be getting a glass screen soon but impressed with this case, recommend 100%
Hey, I have a couple of suggestions depending on the power consumption of the user. If you are satisfied with the original power capacity of the battery I recommend the Spigen's Neo Hybrid. I have it on a normal day and it is great. If you are the power user I recommend the I-blades smart case. It is quite slim and Military Drop certified. It has snapping modules that I hope many more in the future
I have the Spigen thin fit case for three days. The finish is really sub par this time. Mist Spigen cases I had where great, but in this one the grippy finish already starts to peel off. Not a major problem, but I have black flakes all over my hands now and then.
The neo hybrid, as always, takes some usage to get grippy. Out of the box it's a bit slippery...

Skins

I know DBrand are big state side but with the phone not being available for our American counterparts it'd doubtful they'll do a skin for the P20 Pro so I've order a brushed slate skin via xtreamskins. Cost me £6.50 which I didn't think was too bad. I can post picture and give an overview of how easy/difficult it is to fit and photo's of how it looks if there's much interest from folks on here? https://www.xtremeskins.co.uk/products/huawei-p20-pro-skins?variant=8065942650908

I was just looking at this today. Instead I ordered a few cases off eBay. They look like they better protect the cameras. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/112914026578
I'd appreciate that
Got my skin from these guys today. It's not that great of a product but works for the price. Application is pretty straight forward but a pain getting it to align with the cameras and flash. The good part is that you can peal and reapply and it doesn't affect the stickiness of the skin. The edges don't stick down at the rounded corners so you definitely need a case over this or it will peal off

Ah sorry I meant I picked up the Midnight Blue P20 so wouldn't put a skin over it anyway.
Damn, was hoping to get a skin so i can use it without a case and keep the back scratch free
The edges not sticking down is unfortunately a deal breaker there

You need to heat skins on if the edges are curved.....get your mums hairdryer on it
I had same ssue with mine. Emailed Xtream Skins who offered to send out a replacement (I've gone for camo this time as slate doesn't look as good as on photo render).
They sad that they've changed the design and after looking back at their website you can see that the the skins now wrap around the sides of the phone.
Regards the sides not sticking. I put the case on over the skin and over night the skin stuck completely due to pressure from case. Beats the hairdryer technique that didn't work for me.

Any photo that I can take a look and decide to buy one? I interested in the black camo
I have got this one from 7layerskinz.com. Fits very nice.
Got my black camo skin from Xtreme in the UK. Came within 2 days. The video instructions are really straight forward, I got the back glass one only.
Would take a pic, don't have a spare phone at the minute to do so! Was cheap too. £6.99
Fitting was easy, the key is to activate the glue by using some gentle heat and pressure. No lifts on any corners or sides. No bubbles as it's got air release channels in the back, but you gotta push the air out before you seal the sides! Made that mistake on my iPhone seven last year.
It's definitely less slippy now with a skin on.
Are there any clear skins available state side? I got the Twilight color so would prefer not to hide it but still need some protection.

Do remember that the application for clear skins will be problematic if it is not a wet install. With skin installation, generally you would have to handle the adhesive with your fingers and that means imparting fingerprints on it. With non-clear skins that isn't an issue as you will not be able to see the smudges. With clear skins you will and the only way to prevent this is to perform a wet install.
