[KERNEL]THEBOSS-Zeus🔥[N960F][SimpleLMK][Lightweight][GPU UV-75mv|OC->775Mhz][CPUMod]
Your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this kernel before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot. From all my HEART
I decided to share my personal custom kernel. The main reason I started developing this kernel is to balance *performance / battery* and also add features. I believe I have included most of the usually requested features.
This Kernel is based on Eamon [Endurance Kernel] but it have major or extensive changes that cannot be called Endurance at all... From Now On... it is called [THEBOSS-Zeus Kernel]

Intro
All kind of kernel optimization and speed and battery life… combination of All In One Kernel-AIO! Chosen carefully and precisely… collected and optimized specifically for our beloved Note 9 (N960F/FD) with a touch of love & passion…
Appreciation and Credits-VIP
Thanks for the help from my friend @tike420 who helped me and motivated me to push N9 kernel development forward.. he was the one who is testing my kernels and also he is the one who wanted to build TWRP with F2FS support but we got into issues.. but he was the one who also guided me for F2FS related source codes and alot of things too!
Also we are the first who brought F2FS to our beloved device Note9 before posting it in XDA Forums.. if we wasn’t here.. no body will ever do it or even think about it due to misconception & misinformation that most developers realizes which is 5 words [It is not worth it] well.. we proved them wrong and other kernel developers got interested and included it into there own kernel too!
So.. We started the spark.. We started the fire! :highfive::fingers-crossed:
Kernel Features:-
Fully Supports F2FS to ./data & ./cache partitions
F2FS Tweaks further improving performance without sacrificing instabilities
Use CONFIG_HZ = 300
- This changes context switching interval from 4ms to 3.33ms
- Pixel used this for years and Google recommends other vendors to do the same for fewer jitters
Disabled vaultkeeper
Disabled bunch of security options that proved through my experience that causes overhead or performance degradation in general usage or operations
Disabled Unnecessary option or features
Undervolted GPU more across all frequencies
Optimized & Cleaned Code [Using my own method]
Improved & Optimized CPU idle power consumption
Removed all kinds of logging , debugging, tracing, etc…
GPU OC up to 775Mhz[Customized Voltage] (Might be unstable if G3D —-ASV value under 4!!)[You Have Been Warned]
GPU decreased minimum frequency to 150Mhz
OC CPU Big to 2.9Ghz and Small to 2Ghz
Customized CPU Buses to reflect real world usage and to decrease power consumption
Customized CPU frequency scaling for more battery life
This kernel made for Gaming on Mind.. so expect higher FPS performance [Depends on your ASV level]
Safety mechanism is not touched
All kind of options that degrade performance is disabled
Complied with the latest GCC Compiler 8.3 [Modded Customized Version Made By Me]
IO & TCP mostly all available & disabled some TCP that doesn’t make sense
Always updated to the latest Linux upstream version
There is soo much more.. I can’t remember…You tell me…
Simple LMK is implemented! We are the first kernel in the history of Note9 to have Simple LMK... lol even S9 !
All other kernel developers couldn't implement Simple LMK for N9 kernels.. and they failed.. miserably too so.. THEBOSS-Zeus kernel coming for rescue and shed the light on Note9 users we did F2FS first kernel compatible in the history of Note9.. and guess what?! we did it again with Simple LMK on Note9
Installation Instructions
Download my kernel through the link... [You will find it under [ASSETS] section
Go into TWRP Recovery and Choose [Install] Note:- TWRP must have F2FS support.. can be found Here

Noob questions will be ignored here... join Telegram Group and ask.. we might help you.. everyone have a life..
The commits in the source code is a mess... sorry about that.. but that is how I develop.. I am not using the traditional way like other developers kernel do If you want to use some of my commit..you gotta cherry-pick.. you gotta search for it and earn it.. that is how you learn.... the hard way.. I know

Can you add this or that...?
You can suggest kernel features but I won't do it immediately... I have life to live..
How can I root?
If you asked this question.. you shouldn't considering rooting your phone at first place
Please update! When are you gonna update?!

Notice!! Backup your internal storage and your Data partition
Thanks to @tycoon78[stoner] for this amazing tutorial and for contributing and participating to make this kernel the best on xda :highfive::fingers-crossed:
For people who want to use F2FS tutorial:-
-Go into TWRP and then simply go to Advanced Wipe
-
-Now select [Data]
-Now click on [Repair or Change Filesystem]
-It will now display your filesystem info
-
-Now click on [Change File System] and Choose F2FS
-Do the same procedure for Cache
-After doing it.. reboot to recovery and check if the partition still F2FS or changed back to ext4
-If it shows F2FS... flash the rom you want or stay on the same ROM
-Use this app to check filesystem after you booted to your rom DiskInfo

i think you double threaded...
also that twrp you linked to, although seems to work, the restore backup dosent work and basically when restoring would bootloop your device.

you formatted/ cache too?
i had to completely go back to stock as the partitions formatted to the new file system screwed up something.
in that twrp build odm was also formatted to F2FS and it screwed with my csc and cell reception.
one thing i didint see or hear is what are the advantages of F2FS over the regular ext4?

lol.. I'm sure you changed the wrong partition to F2FS maybe F2FS is only used on Data & Cache partition only

no i didnt forcefully change anything. i just simply resorted the backup. and while looking at the logs, the make f2fs is formatting odm!( twrp dosent alow you to wipe efs or odm, it will wipw/format though when restoring a back up!)
in the old twrp thread other are reporting issues too about boot loop. i got out of it but as i said odm partition was formatted to f2fs and i think EFS too! since reception was on and off...
also i hate to break it to you but 3 days ago @Eamo5:

He should untick on TWRP settings [use -rm instead etc etc etc]... it will then restore backup to the original state which it was ext4
and this kernel compatible with Devbase Oreo or Stock Oreo ASB1 Build

Mods & battery life/ performance ratio the problem with PIE kernels is that any mod you try to apply breaks something else..while doing the same on Oreo stays rock solid stable and yet still provides performance and battery life even at stock compared to Pie kernels.
I still believe Pie needs time to mature enough but that's not the only reason I stay on Oreo and maintaining it
Some kernel mods breaks Pie kernel and simply doesn't work... biggest example is GPU OC in Oreo it works wonderfully and smoothly
Also all mods & modules works for Oreo due to xposed officially fully functional with Oreo.. while Pie needs different kinds of hooks and hacks just to work... and not all modules works with edxposed
Don't tell me PIE is more secure.... you have just rooted your device...that's by itself less secure than unrooted device..
I believe Oreo gives the full performance potential to Note 9 compared to Pie.

I recommend Devbase Oreo or Light ROM Oreo or even stock Oreo ROM all works
GPU OC advantages leads to increased performance & FPS when heavy gaming less lag and stutters.. especially when used or coupled with F2FS filesystem

Hi,
Thanks for this kernel.
I'm assuming this kernel does not work with AOSP roms? Didn't see any mention of it in the first post..

[Kernel] [UBER6.3] [GRAPHITE optimizations] Custom kernel for Haruhirom

PS: The anime character "Haruhi Suzumiya" is copyright of its owner
PS: arise fix
Open up a file manager and go to the root folder. You need to have SuperSU installed for this
You'll see a folder called su, go to /su/su.d
In this folder create a text file, label it as "permissive.sh" and put the following code in
Code:
supolicy --live "permissive *"
Then save the file and go to recovery and flash arise and Dolby Atmos addons again and then reboot
It should now work
Stop reading my bs! Here's the download link
https://srv1.botstack.host:8000/oneplus/op2/custom-kernel-for-haruhios-v3.8-STABLE.zip
Or
http://srv1.botstack.host:9000/oneplus/op2/custom-kernel-for-haruhios-v3.8-STABLE.zip
This is a project that started as a kernel for my ROM and that is what it's going to be
It can be flashed on other ROMs too and I will gladly provide support however I can't guarantee results
Do note that this is a "secure" kernel. It has many of the security patches merged from CAF and selinux enforcing is forced with no way to go to permissive
What about v4a?
Get SuperSU and input these lines in a terminal
Code:
supolicy --live "allow mediaserver mediaserver_tmpfs:file { read write execute };
allow audioserver audioserver_tmpfs:file { read write execute };"
Wait for a few seconds, swipe away v4a from the recent apps list and launch it again. It should now work
Why isn't a thermal throttling tweak included inside this kernel?
Well in my usage the kernel is so fast that thermal throttling modifications are not needed. You can apply if you want
Currently known bugs?
Nothing
OMG you're copying boeffla!
Relax. I used boeffla's anykernel base as I was in a hurry and didn't have time to make my own zip. Also, boeffla's anykernel zip is one of the best around trust me
What are the features?
Too lazy to write, check back here in a few days but there are quite a lot of features you're gonna like
I'm a nerd, I support the GPL, I'm gonna take you down because you didn't release the source code and neither did you tell me whose toolchain you used!
Bro you need to take it easy
Toolchain: https://bitbucket.org/mdalexca/aarch64-linux-android-6.x
Kernel source: https://github.com/anupritaisno1/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8994_custom

This is something I sadly can't fix. You'll have to wait for halogenos devs to update this
Fast charge coming in next build like....
Camera bug fixed!
I don't usually gamble but when I do I buy note7
May we have two versions? A reverted version for the camera and the current one...? Some ROMs are behind and are not working properly with the new commits about camera. Sorry if I am saying something wrong. I am a noob on these

All known bugs squashed!
Seems cool but an enforcing only kernel has its downside for me. I'm not sure if arise works with an enforcing kernel, would love to see a permissive version as well.

Hi got your quote on bens kernel page @anupritaisno1, could you explain me more about this kernel. I guess it will break the focus of my camera due to some new commits, etc as bens kernel v5 had done the same to me. Also, as im using bens RR Rom, will this have any bugs or side affects with that rom (i had flashed boeffla kernel and had to face a lot of problems on his rom such as the xposed modules becoming inactive or not performing after some time, etc.) and last main thing, idle battery drain

Yea no worries I patched the files in the rom it should be no issue, but I am waiting for the N source to drop cuz like when I worked on Tab S2 I never had an issue with N kernel vs C9. So I know they added in wifi qualcomm source I can tell cuz no more module. So I am hoping I can get the rest perfect like I did tab.
Ok, so do you guys want a port still?, or do you want me to wait for HK Firmware? Both roms work fine on the main op so I'm curious. Next kernel will be Nougat source when Samsung releases it so no more PM'S about that please.
better wait for hk and my personal opinion is to make a rom very colse to stock, remove only app who can be found on market, nothing else, and ofcourse your kernel or stock one. thank you
N source i think it will be a bit better since it will have wifi and better fp firmware in it. My odex rom has all playstore apps removed.

Stock kernel does 1.7a max for fast charge. So it looks like that did not change. Mine I upped it to 2a and I was thinking maybe 2.4a but I don't have a charger to test 2.4 out.
You guys get any slowdowns at all when you fill up ram? I was thinking of Zram and using this instead of a pagefile since the emmc 5.1 chip is slow at read write vs ufs storage. That way all paging will be done in ram and not use the emmc chip. I'll have to try it out this weekend and see if it helps speed up the device in general.
I put odex rom, dirty install and all working fine till now. The same like in barebone prism rom codes like *#06# not working. Must be samsung fault. Very good odex room, no need deodex for me. Also Xposed part from grenify cannot be activated, must be Xposed fault. Thank's Travis82 for rom and hop for hk one soon.
When we recieve HK firmware I have a lot that i will do to speedup the rom and kernel I tested on my port and it was much much much... faster. So until then just wait it up. I noticed same issue as in M that if cores are defined for hotplug that the big cores never slept well to 400mhz so I'll try to get that fixed up when I get source and a new firmware to play with also.

[Kernel] [H990] D.O.T.S. v1.4 [01/04]

This kernel is the result of a common work with @Leicxan. It can only be used on H990 and was successfully on single sim AND double sim variants. D.O.T.S. kernel is :
- Dirty Santa rooted
- Optimized
- Tweaked
- Stock based
Caution
Nor @Leicxan nor I are responsible for any damage caused to your phone. Any of the action you'll make to flash a kernel theorically voids your warranty. If don't accept any risk, then keep your stock phone
Content
- Based on v10g official LGE sources
- Compiled with UBERTC 7.x Linaro 7.2.1 (since V1.4)
- Dirty Santa root as implemented by @emdroidle
- CPU Governors : performance, powersave, userspace, ondemand, conservative, interactive, darkness, nightmare, zzmove, blu_active, elementalx, chill, dancedance. Default is interactive.
- I/O Schedulers : noop, deadline, cfq, fiops, sio, bfq, zen, maple. Default is zen.
- TCP congestion protocols : htcp, cubic, bic, reno, westwood. Default is westwood.
- Adreno idler
- Adrenoboost
- Exfat Support
- KCAL
- RCTD removed
- Wakelocks management
- Various small optimizations and tweaks
History
V1.0 [11/10] : original version
V1.1 [11/22] : CPU frequency hard limit (for battery drain improvement) and various minor fixes
V1.2 [11/27] : CPU frequency fix, exfat from samsung's open source module, LGE adaptive readahead
V1.3 [12/11] : Upstream Kernel to 3.18.86 thanks to @thirdzcee. Disabled LGE's rctd, ccmd and triton. Disabled some debug configuration. Note : Windows Defender can detect the archive as a Fuerboos trojan, this is a false positive.
V1.4 [01/04] : Fix for kernel crash when using pptp vpn. Upstream Kernel to 3.18.90.
Installation instructions
Follow the instructions provided by @emdroidle here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/dirtysanta-h990-t3624296
At step 16, instead of typing fastboot reboot, just unplug the usb cable, remove battery, wait 5 sec, put the battery back and reboot the phone. This should limit the risk of static screen at reboot.
Once the kernel installed, update your phone to the latest KDZ for your region using KDZ Writer : https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/tool-kdz-writer-t3649818
Known bugs
Some users reported issues with SD cards formated with exFat. This is not a general issue. The root cause is not clear (linked to the way the SD card is formated ?).
How to report a problem
It is very important to provide as many details as possible when you report a problem. It means providing :
- the model of your phone
- the version of the kernel and of the KDZ you updated to
- a precise description of the problem and of the circumstances
- logs (logcat & dmesg) : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185929
Q&A
Before asking please :
- read the posts in this thread. The "Search Thread" box is your friend.
- have a look at @xdav20's H990DS Info Bank thread which is full of usefull information : https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/h990ds-info-bank-t3703736"
Thanks
@emdroidle for his implementation of Bad Santa on H990
@USA-RedDragon for his werewolf kernel that was inspiring

Normally yes.. But if there is a problem, you'll have to restart all over, so make a backup of your phone, just in case..
It would be nice if this can be crossed over to H918.
First of all, just want to say thank you to @jahlex and @Leicxan for bringing the long awaited kernel with literally everything I could ask for to our devices.
Upon first install by flashing in TWRP, wiping dalvik/cache and rebooting, my phone goes to the LG screen, then black screens and I get a kernel crash screen that I've taken a photo of here
Any ideas what's causing it? My system version is in my signature. I'm really keen to get this working! For now I've restored my TWRP backup I did before flashing, back to 0.2.3b
Update: Even after the TWRP restore I was still getting the same problem. Immediately I thought it might be a Magisk problem as that's the only other thing I updated before rebooting. It appears I was correct. I used KDZWriter to re-flash the boot & system partitions of my phone (since Magisk modifies the boot image) and it immediately booted okay with my TWRP backup. Booted back into recovery, flashed the kernel as well as a previous Magisk version (14.0 not 14.2) and my other /system apps & mods, wiped cache, rebooted and sat on the LG screen for a while. Then booted into the OS okay. Glad it worked out and I'm keen to see how this kernel goes.
On a sidenote, do you have any plans to bring it to a more up to date version of the linux base kernel?

Magisk 14.2 and 14.3 are beta version, I tried magisk 14.3 but my h990n always boot into bootloader interface..
So just stay with magisk 14, it doesn't have any issue.
For the Linux version, it will take tons of time to do this even we just upstream our kernel (from 3.18.31 to 3.18.79)

Yeah I don't know why 14.0 prompted me to update to a beta version. I know 14.3 added something to do with supporting LG devices better, maybe that broke something. Otherwise I'm quite happy with how things are going ?
And yeah I'm somewhat familiar with how long kernel related things can take, it was more of a question if anything.
I've just installed it now, it works perfectly for now much more reactive i've impression Thank you!!

This is major evolution of this kernel. DirtySanta-h990-1.2-u721-v10g was basically the stock v10g kernel with Dirty Santa root.
Before all, thank you so much guys, that's a great work
For some opinions i have many friends that buy h990ds last year and me too, we concluded if tha kernel was more optimized battery side was more effective than performances, and will be great that CPU and GPU clocks and voltages will be more unlocked if you can do that , thank you again.

They've already enabled some overcooked frequencies with this, as seen in their Github commits. If it's battery you're looking for, install the AKT Profiles from the thread, and then choose a balanced or battery saving profile. Since installing those and this kernel, I'm regularly seeing 5-7 hours of screen time.
On a side note @jahlex or @Leicxan if you're looking for a beta tester, feedback, or Guinea pig to help out (that isn't actually building the kernel, that's above my ability to simply modify individual files) I'd love to help wherever possible
Been doing the whole TWRP/Flashing/Kernel/ROM thing since I got my G3 way back in the day.

As @iDefalt said, we already enabled higher max frequency / voltage for both CPU & GPU. We won't go higher because the result would be high risks of unstability and overheating. If you want performance and do not care about battery life, simply switch to performance governor for both CPU & GPU. We use interactive CPU governor by default because it is a good choice considering balance performance / battery life (nightmare & darkness are good choices too). You have plenty of apps to do that, example : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor.

Please read before flashing...
[size=+2]NOTICE[/size]
As we all know, there are multiple variants/versions of the Moto G6 (codenamed ALI). I personally own the XT1925-6 variant and have tested this kernel on both firmware versions OPS27.104-15-10 (pre-ota)(march security patch) and OPSS27.104-15-10-4 (post-ota)(july security patch).
Being that this kernel uses the AnyKernel2 format and is NOT a full boot.img, my hope is that it'll work for all variants/versions. Make sure to backup your boot partition before attempting to flash this kernel that way if something goes wrong, you can easily restore your boot.img. If this kernel works for you, please lemme know what variant/version you're using so I can make note of it so users in the future can rest assured it'll work for them as well
Lastly, you will need to have flashed a "no-verity_boot.img" for your device and have TWRP installed before you can flash this kernel. In the future, this may change.

Flashed perfectly on retus March firmware. First impressions are phone feels a bit snappier. Awesome kernel! Kcal control works great. On my G6 I changed rgb to 235/245/255 and saturation to 40.
Btw I'm using the same variant as you.

Awesome, good to know!
So far that's 2 confirmed variants
Been using since last night. Smooth as butter! A noticeable upgrade from stock kernel. I've flashed a few things and made a nano so not a good representation of battery life. I'll share my results when I have a normal usage day.
Works for me 1925-6 variant.
Omg, I'd love to see a Play (1922) variant of this kernel get made!
My wishlist includes much of what you've already included. Especially the Adrenoboost, Kcal, CRC disable, and added IO schedulers.
Just curious, do you plan on adding any hotplugging features? Like Intelliplug? Battery life could be drastically increased with implementation.

you have planned to create some custom rom for the moto g6 jleeblanch? I dont like the stock rom
I recommend to anyone try this kernel. It's such a dramatic improvement over stock. So buttery smooth! You might enjoy stock rom better with a better performing kernel.
@Jleeblanch I'd like to donate to your development but don't see where you have a donation link.

I may possibly at some point. However, you are aware that you can flash treble GSI's? Just make sure to use arm A-only versions of whatever rom you wanna try out. I personally haven't tried any so I can't say either way what doesn't or doesn't work, but from what I hear most things do work fine. Just make sure you have a TWRP backup and/or the stock firmware for your variant in case something goes wrong.

As far as donations go, I don't currently except them (although as much time as I spend working the various Moto devices I own, I probably should). Regardless, a simple thanks will do [emoji6]

@Jleeblanch
Maybe you can activate the LED notifications in this kernel. Such things have already been done for older Motorola phones.
Example:

In previous models, there was a hidden diode, using the kernel gave the ability to use it as an LED notification. In moto g6 it is also possible.

Dirty Unicorns Semi GSI for Samsung Devices
By CodeFox & OpenSauce9810
What is this?
This is a Semi Generic System Image. That means it's a generic system image that's been optimized as much as possible for our Samsung Devices.
How the heck do I flash this?
It's slightly different than flashing a zip, so here's what you need to do.
Download the image file
UNCOMPRESS IT .xz is a compressed file. So you can uncompress it with zarchiver from the playstore or 7zip/winrar.
Flash the ARH6 Vendor Image to your Vendor Partion from TWRP (Press the Install Image button at the bottom right of where you usually select a flashable zip)
Flash the System Image to your System Partition
Optional if you want root (but reccomended): Reboot to recovery again then flash your choice of Magisk. I use 17.1 as I can get galaxy wear to work with that version.
Reboot your device and you should be good to go! No need to flash gapps as they're included.
03.12.2018
Initial Release
05.12.2018
Updated sources to 9.0 r21 release. (December Security Patch)
Gapps included, (dialer and messenger also included so you won't start without a phone or sms app)
Bootanimation changed to reduce boot times
Tweaks to ambient play ticker so it clears when you clear media notifications
Further performance tweaks thanks to @malinathani animations transition smoother now.
09.12.2018
Keystore fixed - You can now use fingerprint within apps (once you've passed safetynet with hideprops module)

Fingerprint doesn't worth within apps. Other than that though everything's pretty much good I think.
@CodeFox Thanks for this rom. I used to make my own Du builds for nexus device. It was sucha an amazing experience.
Would love to try DU for note 9.
Just a couple of questions -
- Does any of the Touch wiz features like, pen related features ( bluetooth control work ) ?
- Phone related features by flashing csc files for specific network still doable ?

Gapps aren't included. You'll need to download a package from opengapps. Arm64 9.0. I recommend nano.
Don't forget to download a phone and SMS app too.
I copied and pasted from my PE thread so I need to take out the gapps included part. My bad, sorry about that.

It just connected right away and it's working fine now. The backup I made using titanium backup was on Pixel Experience right before I flashed this rom.
I hope it doesn't do a freak reset later.. Too good to be true? :silly:

Hmm thanks for letting me know. I'll give it a go. I really do need to start using titanium backup more often. I usually have problems with apps not notifying me of new posts anymore or them being stuck in the past though.

I agree with you on those issues. Apps like whatsapp are affected with the delayed notifications so I avoid backing it up with titanium backup. Still, the fact that Gear doesn't need to be reset is a big thing. I even toggled Bluetooth on and off multiple times and it still connects to it without any prompt for reset

I'll update the posts tomorrow. I'm looking after 4 threads at the minute as there's 2 more in the s9 forum it's proving to be challenging haha.
You're welcome. This one is a lot smoother than pixel experience.

1. In twrp clear everything. Cache data system
2. Flash vendor image
3. Flash system image
So i was able to boot this rom and everything was working included dual sim. then i downloaded viper for android ,flashed in magisk, restarted and kept in boot loop since.
