Hi,
I made the mistake to believe that my Poco F1 is water resistant and I got my Motherboard fried. Sent it to a repair shop, can do nothing except a replacement. there was a fried capacity at the bottom and unless someone can provide me with a datasheet to try and fix it, I'll need you people to help me find one.
I've checked aliexpress and google, I can't find it !
Thank you a lot,

Let me know which one you have fried and I can take that one off of mine, measure it and point you to a spare part.
Here's my thread.

Hi gurus!
I need to replace the display on my Atom because of that "whistling" problem that lots of users are experiencing (too expensive to send the device to HK from Moscow, and the chances to get it back with a good screen are not 100%), but the guys here told me they couldn't find any info on which type/model/make of the screen is installed on Atoms. Can anyone help?
Hi,
Atom display is: NEC NL2432HC17-01B
Dear Dmitry N, i'm very interested in this! I'm from Greece, and i can't send it to the Hong Kong. I have the problem with the screen which you can see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=51900
Please, if you find any solution post it.
I'm looking forward to hear from you,
Bill

Thanks for your help. BUT! Are you absolutely sure in this? If yes, I will be buying a new screen next week.
Thanks again in advance.
Where to purchase?
Where can you purchase the screen? I found the nec-lcd webpage but didn't see where I could purchase one. How much do they cost?

You just do some googling for a local supplier of electronic parts / components. I'm sure you will find one. In Moscow, I was able to find at least 7 suppliers of this stuff.
Can you believe that MY WHISTLING IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's damn GONE!!! I don't know why it decided to go - I never asked it for that... But thanks to something/someone anyway

Hello!
what is wrong with your phone? what it would sell and for how much?
look in pm
I'm also looking into motherboard. Does anybody have idea where I can find it?
Me too...
The only place I've managed to find one is here:
http://www.htcrepairparts.com/htc-touch-hd-c-129_220.html?language=en
But $US295 seems a little steep. Anyone else have any tips or a busted phone they want to dispose of?
htcrepairparts unfortunately is a little steep in prices indeed.
mainboard
I have mainboard.location-bulgaria skype-bezstra6en
Hello, I have such board, if interested send me PM. I'm located in Belgium but can send it over post mail, UPS or (KIALA only in Belgium)
With the right "box" it's possible to repair your IMEI within seconds: Myth or Truth?
Hello guys!
So, I screwed up big time and now I got a i9100 with unknown baseband and no IMEI... practically a media player.
Reading around the net it seems that with the right hardware (called "boxes" I think) it's possible to fix the problem within seconds.
Do you think a Samsung Service Centre, I mean the small ones that you may find in a city, could do it easily? If so what would you think would be a fair price?
As you might have guessed at this point I am indeed a total newbie and I thought such a thread might be useful to others with the same level of "newbiness".
I will report on what they tell me and the price they ask me.
Wish me luck,
f
You may be thinking of a jtag? not sure...
Anyway, this could help:
Recover IMEI in 9 steps
Or...Contact a member on here called Odia by PM. He may be able to recover it for you (for a small donation).
Hi i have the same problem with mi sgs I lost my original imei after a reboot and I've tried all recovery methods with no result I always get a generic imei I even tried to copy and rfs folder of a friend who lives in another country and uses another carrier and still the same
Can a box fix this our anyone here knows how to repair my nv_data.bin file? No matther the donation!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
service center will do the job or a repair shop cause they keep diff jtag, box wiv them....goood luck
The legality of IMEI "repair" is tricky and varies from jurisdiction, so I remind you of XDA's rule to "don't get us in trouble".
Thanks

thanks for the info never the less I think the is a huge difference in imei recovery and imei change ... Imei change is illegal
We are taking about recovering what many of us lost when we didn't know the importance of an efs backup and now we are stuck with a very nice media player and a quarter of a tablet instead of a very nice smart phone hehe
Many of us need a solution even if it cost a donation

Someone posted a video clearly demonstrating IMEI change, not "repair", which I reported and crachel deleted, hence the message.
Thank you for your answers guys.
First of all, as for the update: I called my Samsung Service Centre and they told me that Samsung considers a phone with no IMEI as "stolen" ... I protested that I have the original box + proof of purchase + the code is printed under the battery, to which they replied that they just collect the phones for Samsung to repair and that repairing the phone would be "very expensive".
I believe the "expensive part", not so much the "stolen" part of the story he told me, but hey... I didn't buy it phone in this country anyway so... why argue?
I'm very sorry if I posted something that may have got you in trouble, it wasn't my intention. I thought freedom of speech in the US covered also things that *may* be used for illegal purposes (such as weapons)... nonetheless, again, I'm sorry.
I guess what I wanted to ask, really, was: Can an official Samsung Service Centre RESTORE a phone's IMEI? I read in this very forum that some people's efs folder was completely wiped out: what about that case? Would they still be able to "create" (?) a new efs folder?
After speaking with a Samsung Service Centre it seems that the answer is no.
So... can I ask -and I'm not being ironic- if a cellphone repair shop can do it or would it be against the rules?
Thank you again.
Cheers,
f
PS
Just as an anecdote, an authorized HTC centre changed my old Elf's IMEI -without even asking me... or even telling me!- when I had some (motherboard?) problems.
Whether a cellphone repair shop can do it or not is irrelevant so far as 'the rules' are concerned. Because the only way you're going to find out is to contact a local cellphone repair shop I.E. how would anyone on here know if a cellphone shop near you can/will repair it for you ?
Thank you for your answer,

I don't read the word "near", do you?
If it can't be done, it can't be done and there would be no point in contacting anyone in the first place.
Also I don't understand how 'the rules' are irrelevant *because* I'll only find out contacting a local repair shop.
I was talking about something perfectly legal in the US in each and every post of mine in this thread, even the one that got deleted, hence the question (perfectly legal i.e. The imei-changing-machine-thingie per se isn't against the law but it might be used against the law. Exactly like a gun.)
Cheers,
f
I made the distinction 'near' because whether a cellphone repair shop can fix it may depend on whether they have the same gear Samsung would use to fix it (I.E. are they also a Samsung authorised repairer - will they do a non-Samsung authorised repair).
And the only way you're going to know is by contacting cellphone repair shops near you. You're wasting your time here & clutching at straws.

I've already decided to send my phone back to Samsung (I think I wrote that in the post that got erased), I was just asking if it was possible in part out of curiosity in part because if hadn't the option of sending it back under warranty I would like to find a thread like this.

As per thread's title there are many many imei-changing-machine-thingie around, if they work it's extremely probable that a specialized repair shop have them.
I'm not demanding that you (or anybody else) know if they are common and they work, but maybe somebody does know!
Anyway maybe you're right: I'm wasting my time
Cheers,
f
So finally I when out to find some shop that pointed me in the right direction and today I found a solution
I live in colombia so thought that a box that was ckmpatible with a sgs was mission impossible hehehehe
I found a shop that had a box and anfer 5 minutes and 20 USD my sgs was up and runing with my original imei!!!!!!!
I guess this is the only solution when you loose your efs and have no backup or nv_data.bak
I dont know if it is alowed to publish the name of box and procedure so if you want more info PM

3)u can google for other sellers of the same
You can't. You won't get one from somebody who's salvaged one from an otherwise dead phone, as a borked NAND tends to be the main reason why a phone would be dead in the first place.
And Samsung won't sell you one outright, they just don't do that kind of thing. Obviously they'll replace one in your device for you (at your cost if you've voided your warranty obviously).

Dear IBRAHIM DIAB,
Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.
Please find hereafter, our response.
As per your enquiry, kindly be informed that you have downloaded illegal/unofficial ROM version from unauthorized website; not Samsung official website.
The Main Board damage happened due to non compatibility between your device Main Board specifications and Russian software specifications, not due to Factory Reset: you have installed a European Software version on Middle East device version: “Devices specifications may change from region to another”.
Hence, we extremely apologize for inconveniences. However, Samsung electronics will not cover any warranty for unauthorized/unofficial update done on the phone.

Dear Mr Stanley,
Thank you for email. I am sorry for the trouble you are currently having and understand the inconvenience this may have caused.
In reagrds to your email I can confirm that repairing this phone would actually invalidate the warranty that you would have with us. Though you would need to contact one of our service centres if you still wished to repair this yourself and they would have the parts to repair this. I have provided the link below to find the nearest one to you.
If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and we will be more than happy to help.
Kind regards,

Upon contacting the samsung service center. I was informed that they do not like to send out replacement parts and refused to do so, but were more than happy to repair the unit for a total amount of £150 ( logically speaking the reason that they do not like sending out replacement parts for the person to fit the item themselves is because they can not charge a ridiculous labour charge which I am guessing is around £50 for 10 minutes work.
With this information I then visited Carphone warehouse as it has it's own walk in service center and spoke with the technician and my theory was confirmed, the unit itself costs around £100 and Carphone warehouse charged £60 to fit the unit so that would be a total of £160.
I'd be aware of purchasing any i9100 mainboards on ebay as a forum poster had stated that a borked phone is normally down to the mainboard being the issue. There are several websites that sell factory standard upper mainboards.
so the eMMC chip can be replace? I also wish to replace mine.
I also have i9100 with burnt emmc
just found a display cracked one for $90
i maybuy it and replace the board or replace the display

Mate....it really is NOT worth it......
These components are soldered to the motherboard by computer controlled high precision robots....
They are programmed to apply the heat for long enough to do the job and short enough that they don't cause heat damage.....oh...they also don't suffer from the shakes.....
I had to repair just a single contact on a tablet belonging to my son....
The power socket had become detached.....
In order to do this, I had to file my soldering irons tip to virtually a needle point....then I had to find a magnifying glass (my eyes are perfect, I've NEVER worn glasses) and I had to find a strong positionable light source to enable me to actually see what I was soldering. I'm guessing that the solder point I had to repair is substantially larger and more accessible than those on the emmc chip.....and also I had to deal with just one solder point......
It's fair to say that this is NOT my only experience with a soldering iron.....I first picked one up when I was in my early teens......25 odd years ago, and have been regularly using one ever since. Even with the aforementioned level of experience, I personally wouldn't attempt the repair you are suggesting.....these boards are NOT meant to be hand repaired......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
my F1 fell from a slope and got dragged by gravity over a good 5m of concrete charring the back cover and destroying the camera lens, I went to a repair store who poked around and told me that the camera lens itself is scratch beyond repair, not just the protective glass. but that they don't have any replacement parts, where can I find such parts on the internet? I saw a few on Aliexpress but I have no idea how to tell which ones are genuine. if anyone have any experience in that regard I could use the help, I plan on buying the parts then give them to a professional to fix them. I'd just go to a Mi store but they just wooshed me away saying they won't help because I bought it overseas instead of from them! (rude)
You can repair at any mi authorised service center , if they whoosh u away you can call mi customer care center and tell them your situation and they will talk to the service center , if they didn't probably their service center gonna end , Cause customer caring is top in their priority but i cant guarantee you if they change any parts in your phone on behalf of angry and all this , You can't get any original posts in online cause the mi manufacture won't deliver! You can get any A grade parts in online.

Yes please send the link, I don't take a lot of photos, my biggest issue is actually banking apps not being able to scan QR codes, so I don't really mind if it's a different module as long as it works with the phone and the pixel experience ROM.
