Performance ? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

So received my tab s6 today (6gb ram ) in coming from the tab S4 and considering the s6 has the SD 855 I expected the UI to be a lot smoother, it's faster yes but swiping etc only seems marginally better. Maybe software not fully optimised yet ?

Question About Galaxy SIII

I just got the international version of the SIII. I was wondering if I should return it and get the AT&T version because some people say that it is faster graphics and memory wise, and that even though it's dual core it has a newer processor architecture (A9 vs A15). I want to know which one really has the better graphics performance and per-thread performance, just overall which one is more powerful in the end. I dont care about network speeds.
CAN YOU PLEASE USE THE DAMN SEARCH FUNCTION BEFORE POSTING?

It has more memory (2GB vs 1GB) but a slower graphic engine. Note that slower is a relative term; the speed differences may be neglectable in most real-world applications, but synthetic benchmarks do show them.

Yes. However none of the new features (such as Virtualization) are even used.
Note that an architecture doesn't say anything about the CPU itself since Samsung has heavily modified the ARM design.
Also note that the US-version is dualcore at ~1.5Ghz with the Exynos (international) is 4core clocked at 1.4Ghz.
The Exynos is also produced with a newer technology called High-K metal gate which allows higher clock speeds with less power consumption as compared to the old production technology used on the Dualcore version.
My best guess is that everything you'll want to do will just run fine on both versions, but the international one definitively has more horsepower.
The US-version with it's 2GB of RAM should be better for multitasking tough.
I got the international version and I think I made a good decision getting the international version.
Thanks so much. I looked around but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for there was always people saying the Snapdragon S4 was better, but i didn't know if they just meant battery/data wise or what. Thanks for the clarification though. So far I am loving my International version.

samsung galaxy s4 snapdragon or exynos

Hello everybody,I'm about to buy a samsung gs4 ,but I'm still wondering which one of them is better snapdragon or exynos ?
I've been heard that they are some trouble with the exynos version especialy with heat level . and the performance of the exynos are better then snapdragon .and the batterie life is better with exynos. At this point exynos version look better but overheating problem still worring me
And you figured the Verizon forum, where 100% of the devices are Snapdragons would be a good choice?

@yasay,
In my experienced, I did some research before buying my Exynos S4 and here are the pros / cons I found:
Pros:
performs better than the snapdragon versions (you can look for benchmarks in youtube)
never experience overheating, but I heard some people reporting this kind of issues
At this point there are many ROMs available for the exynos variant in case you want to use something different. I my case I used Omega Rom and I was very happy with the performance and the battery life (almost 2 days)
Cons:
I'm from Costa Rica and here the Exynos variants are for GSM 3G | HSPA+ networks. If you are in a place in which you have LTE available I suggest you get the snapdragon version

[4.4.2] Rec. and ADB Screen recording very laggy

CyanogenMod 11 M5 is great, no doubt about that, performance is better, it's way cleaner and streamlined, less bloated and the latter...
It's been a few days probably, almost a week since I've been using CM11, it's somewhat stable, but after digging across the new features and whatnot, I came across one small hiccup.
Screen recording is VERY LAGGY.
For a phone that sports the following specs:
1.4GHz Quad Core Exynos 4412 Processor
1GB RAM
Mali-400MP4 GPU
and the rest which I'm too lazy to type...
I find it difficult to believe that the phone would be so laggy, close to an unusable state in screen-recording mode, I've tried other apps like screencast (am I right?) and REC. (one of the most popular kitkat recording apps) but all seems to have the same very laggy results.
I've used the ADB method (which I believe is the one also used by REC.) in kitkat which is really laggy as well.
Tried workarounds:
- Rebooting
- Setting minimum clock to 1.4GHz
Video showing how laggy the device is in screen recording mode:
I also saw another guy using an S3, but a different version (SH-i747)
The only main difference between the int'l version and his version is that the SH-i747 has 2GB of RAM, a (lower) dual core processor, and (not sure if better or not) Adreno 225 GPU
I really really really hope you guys could help with this prob, I don't really see why screen recording is so slow with a phone at this arsenal. Please do help, much appreciated
Device Info:
Device: Galaxy S3 int'l [GT-i9300]
ROM: CM11 M5
Kernel: Stock CM
Android Version: Kitkat 4.4.2
Hey,
Have you found solution ?
I think its laggy because the Galaxy S3 doesn't have this feature enable by default. Plus we're talking about an experimental feature here. Hopefully this mod can be updated to perform better.

[POLL] Your Huawei mediapad x1 performance : Satisfied with it?

Hi all.
I'm having a Huawei Mediapad X1 (7d-501u) however after purchase its performance was really really poor and laggy. Updated the software to B011 version , still the same poor performance (maybe just a very bit less laggy) ... So am I the only one with this experience ? Are other people satisfied with this device performance? It should be packed with 2gb ram & 1.6 quad processor... Actually I was expecting a monster in my hands...
Please share your opinions.
Thanks.
The hardware advantages of the X1, are: its screen (size and quality) and its huge battery. Processor and other performance issues are not. Just compare to previous top phones like the oneplus one.
The X2 should correct this, but maybe too late....
Totally agree with you. The screen and battery are great, but compare the performance with even much inferior devices like my samsung tab 4 7.0" which i thought it was a slow device untill I bought the X1 !
I really miss my old note 8.0 it was liquid smooth...

Should I buy Alpha?

So My galaxy tab 2 broke last month, I was thinking to buy Mi4 ( 3gb ram, 801 snapdragon) or zenfone 2 ( 4gbram , Intel x64 proccessor) but i found galaxy alpha and s5 on internet with similar price tags compared with mi4 and zenfone so I wanted to ask should i buy alpha instead of a phone with 4gb ram? or instead of a phone with 3gb ram? I really like alpha looks i can buy s5 too but I saw on youtube touchwiz lags alot not the phone but touchwiz I have a friend who have s5 too she said it does lag occasionally i know alpha runs on touchwiz too i wanted to ask does it lagg too like s5? Please give me your honest review is 2gb ram enough? because at same price i can get a 3 or 4 gig!
My brother has a s5 i have owned one myself in the past, But Alpha is nothing like s5 or other samsung phones i have the 850f Model with exynos processor and it has never lagged even with power saving enabled. I get one day plus battery time with heavy usage (3-4 hours of screen on time)
The octacore never lags. I had the quad core att 850a too. And that one lagged a lot. I love this phone.
Do you think 2gb ram is sufficient? I multi-task a lot , how many hours do is it take to full charge? what about front camera is it good? i saw the back camera samples they were really nice but what about front? is it good too! what's the antutu score?
Alpha is the best device I've ever used.
I sold it to buy the s6 edge. After 10 days of using the s6 edge, I sold it and bought the Alpha again.
It's an amaizing device.

The RAM is far enough for multitasking in my opinion.
Full charge takes like a hour and 20 minutes or so.
The front camera I must say is really good.
And the AnTuTu score, well I'm on stock 4.4.4 no root and in AnTuTu my device shows on first place in the comparison list, below are some flagship devices like Note 4, OnePlusOne, One M8 etc. The score I got was almost 52k.
