Realme XT working with Band28-700MHz - Realme XT Questions & Answers

I was given this phone by someone whos not tech savvy but had really good intentions. Bottom line is, Im in Panama (Central America) and here we use Band28-700MHz for 4G. According to GSM Arena, this phone will not work here. Any workarounds? I dont mind flashing it or using a custom ROM...I just dont want to go throught the whole proccess of returning it. Takes time and money.
Appreciate your help.

Does anyone own the Mediapad X1 4G? Would love some feedback on the device as well as

I've been going on YouTube to get some reviews but its mostly a quick hands on. Does anyone own the device and have any feedback on it? Any issues? I was thinking about getting the 4G version but I can't find anything on it!
I've noticed the phone has been updated to a new version of android recently... Can you get root with the update?
There's a 4G version of this as well, does that connect to the 4G bands of AT&T or does it just get HSPA+?
I've been trying to look for the Chinese forums for this device to get reviews or user feedback in general but I can't find anything!
Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I bought the 4G version. 7D-503L. its LTE TDD and it does not work here in Nigeria, because the LTE sim i got is FDD. But HSPA+ is so stable and good

Thanks for the info. Do you like the phone? Any problems with it?
Does anyone have any experience with it in the US? It seems like I'm going to be the only one who owns it in the states! [emoji18]

The 503L works in Malaysia where the LTE bands are 1800MHz and 2600MHz FDD. Nigeria probably uses a band unsupported by the device.

There was one other guy I saw in the X1 related threads in this forum here, who said that the H+ bands on AT&T work fine.
This is truly a fantastic device and has all the right boxes ticked. You can even use it as a powerbank in an emergency.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear you like the device, because all I read were wifi and connectivity issues. I'm going to go see what bands AT&T use. Thanks again!

Fantastic device. The best tablet i have ever had. Durable and compact. Software very smooth.
I'm in the US and am on AT&T. The LTE bands don't work in the US so you would probably want to get the 3G version (Unless you travel overseas and might want 4G)
If a huge screen and massive battery are your thing then get this phone. If not, your better served with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Other than Screen Size and Battery, the Mediapad X1 falls short in alot of areas.
Pros
Screen (Why else would you get this phone?)
Battery (I get 3 days on a charge)
Don't need a tablet
Cons
Poor performance (Compared to the current snapdragon equipped phones)
Quirky Wifi Performance/Occasion dropouts (In the US)
Old OS (KitKat is out, but fairly buggy right now)
No custom recovery or roms (This would probably fix alot of the performance issues)
High memory usage (Even after rooting and removing all the Huawei stuff)
Just a little laggy in general (Annoying pause after unlocking the screen)
Build quality is a little lacking (buttons feel cheap and are easy to accidentally press or hold)

I suppose "Poor performance" is relative based on the Antutu score, since I'm happy with the device overall.
I did some exploring with ROM dumping tools, and I think I managed to successfully extract the /system partition. Still exploring though, hope to pick up some ROM modding skills.

Do you get at least HSPA on the device? I know its underpowered because the Ultra has a 2.2ghz vs this one has a 1.6. I was really waiting for the Ultra 2 that would have a flash but I need something now. I didn't think I would need flash that much but I use it all the time as a light.
Did you upgrade to the latest version? Did that improve the performance? How well does it connect to the network?
I don't know about the wifi, I have a Samsung Note now and I get wifi authentication errors all the time!

Yes HSPA+ works just fine at around 5mbs. That's certainly fast enough for cellular data.
I did upgrade to the leaked Kitkat build, it had some nice speed improvements however the DPI was set to 400 which was yuck, and the wifi performance was total crap. I had to go back to 4.2 unfortunately. It wasn't good enough for a daily driver, hopefully those issues get fixed for a proper update...
The wifi issues on 4.2 are not that troublesome, with the leaked 4.4 rom they were very bad.

According to some other posts I read, Huawei may not be able to legally state FDD support as they are not licensed for that spectrum in China. However there are reports that the modem supports all frequencies.
Can I know what is the model number of the 32gb version?

The 703L supports FDD 1800 and 2600MHz, and probably some other FDD bands as well, as it has been reported working in France, Germany, Malaysia and Singapore, which use FDD bands,

Where to buy global/international version?

Hello all,
I just saw the review of this phone @gsmarena.com (SD version) and it called my attention because of the supported frequencies (850,1900 2G/3G and B2/B4 LTE). This is the only Xiaomi phone with support for the carriers in my country. I have looked online but all the stores only have the phone with unsupported frequencies, similar to those of the MTK version.
Does anyone know where to but this phone with global band support? Thanks.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Is this site trustworthy?
How do you identify what variant of the phone are they selling? Anyways, the one there is the only one with LTE support for my county.
My other option is the ZUK Z2, but have read very mixed reviews, thus I'm leaning towards RN3.

Yes it is :good:

Good Luck with your lovley RN3

Hello,
I'm a bit confused about frequency support, as information across sites is not consistent.
From what I' ve read in the forums, there are 2 models:
- Kate, LTE B20 support
- Kenzo, no LTE B20 support.
Most sites sell a version that has no B2, B4 and B20 support, and that would be Kenzo, right?
Some other site lists one with B2, B4 and B20 support, that would be Kate.
But then there's another one that has B2 and B4 support but no B20. Which one is this? Are there different different versions of Kenzo? Is the site spcs incorrect?
Here are the sites and variants:
* B2, B4 AND B20 Support, Kate
2G GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz; 3G WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
4G FDD LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28/ ( 2100/1900/ 1800/ 1700/ 850/ 2600/ 900/ 800/ 700MHz); TD-LTE B40 (2300MHZ)
Geekbuying - [HK Stock][Official International Version]Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro
* NO B2, B4 or B20 Support, Kenzo
2G GSM: 900/1800/1900MHz; 3G WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100MHz, CDMA 2000: BC0
4G FDD-LTE: 1800/2100/2600MHz, TDD-LTE (B38/B39/B40/B41: 2555-2655MHz)
Geekbuying - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro 5.5 Inch FHD 3GB 32GB
* B2, B4 support, but NO B20 Support, Kate? Kenzo? Whats is this?
4G FDD-LTE: Bands: B1 / B2 / B3 / B4 / B5 / B7 / B8
3G WCDMA: Bands: 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz
2G GSM: Bands: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
Aliexpress - Original Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime
* B2, B4 support, but NO B20 Support, Another like the one above, but with more bands. Whats is this? Kate or Kenzo?
2G bands: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100
TD-SCDMA
4G bands: LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

My suggestion where get it
I bought from HotMID(dot)com for Xiaomi devices and verified them physically and on mi(dot)com/verify.
Well, I finally made a decision and boght the one from geekbuying.com, which would be Kate.
From whats I've read in the forums, is supported by CM, which is what I would use. I've never used MIUI before, I'll give that a try frist.
My phone should arrive in about a month...

I ordered Mine too from geekbuying but kenzo, I don't need Band 20 but I like flashing and development. I already got the MiPad2 and used it with AOSP for a while(Stock Android) but then they released MIUI 8...And yea I still use MIUI and I love it, I recommend to install the Rom from xiaomi.eu it's globalized and has some other nice optimazions ull love it! Let us know when urs arrived.?
Naily
I received my Kate yesterday evening. So far I like it, MIUI is strage, needs some getting used to. Seems like the ROM is the factory one and has not been tampered with by the seller. I got a notification about OTA Update and it installed without a problem. I'll install the developer ROM today if I got the time and apply for bootloader unlock.

What are the Model #'s for Snapdragon 625 [Note 4] & [Note 4x]?

Good day, everyone
TL;DR - WTK Model Numbers for Snapdragon 625 [Note 4] & [Note 4x]
So far;
2016100 = Redmi Note 4 4Gb/64G (credit: @sachin n)
2016101 = Redmi Note 4X 3Gb/32G (credit: @Delkapone)
2016102 =Redmi Note 4 3GB/32GB (credit: @krasCGQ)
I am about to finalise the purchase of a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 OR 4X.
I am trying to find ONLY the MODEL NUMBERS for;
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 - 4gb RAM, 64gb storage (Snapdragon 625 Variant; might be 2016100 or 2016102, need confirmed)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X - 4gb RAM, 64gb storage (Snapdragon 625 Variant)
Some threads have said the SD 625's of both the 4 and 4x and identical, yet others go on to state physical differences in feature/hardware placements.
I just want to ensure that I get the Snapdragon 625 version, I do not want to end up wit a device that has the Mediatek CPU.
P.S.
Please don't turn the question into an argument for the Mediatek Variant and/or the 3GB models and your experience with them, I've already decided on the Snapdragon 624 4gb/64gb and I'm just trying to ensure I get the correct product.
I understand that the model numbers may vary slightly, possibly dependent on region and storage configuration.
I've looked for the questions/answers in the forum and others as well and can't seem to get a straight idea.
Thank you everyone, any relevant constructive help will be greatly appreciated.

SD 625 is octa-core while Mediatak Helios X20 is deca-core. Some shop list it, I think it's a good indicator to buy the right version.
And I also read something about that the differnt SD 625 versions have difference only in supported network frequency.

Thank you for responding.
I do know the SD625 is an octa-core vs the deca-core of the Mediatek version.
I've already decided on the SD 625.
The problem I am having is that I was told in passing that the NOTE 4 SD625 (4GB/64GB) is identical to the NOTE 4X SD625 (4GB/64GB).
I am just trying to find a way or confirm if there are physical differences or not.
They are identical, the only difference is that the 4x doesn't have b20(800 MHz) band...But some shops
report It in the specification, I think it's an error...
I don't remember where i red this, but another difference is in the Quality of construction that in 4x is lower than 4 ( I don't know if it's true)
The Redmi Note4x is the global (or international) version. It has 4g lte radio bands that will work on either AT&T or T-Mobile in the U.S. The Redmi Note 4 will not work on any 4g lte band in the U.S. It will work on 3g band 1900 which is supported by AT&T and T-Moibile but you can forget about 4g lte in the U.S. with this version. The 4X was released about 10 months after the 4 version was and there are some hardware differences because of that (different brand sensors and camera's) but don't confuse the the different SOC options (MTK or Snap) with one version or the other. You can find both of those SOC options on either version. Even though there are some brand differences in the internal hardware the X of the 4X version is simply meant to signify that it is a global use phone with additional radio bands that the 4 version does not have. BTW, the IR blaster is not in the same position so if you are buying a case or other accessories, buy the case that is specifically for the 4 or the 4X version.
This comparison chart came directly from Xiaomi....
The Differences
Redmi Note 4
Bluetooth 4.1
Network Bands
4G FDD-LTE B3 / B5
4G TDD-LTE B40
3G WCDM 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100MHz
Redmi Note 4x
Bluetooth 4.2
Network Bands
4G FDD-LTE B1 / B3 / B5 / B7
4G TDD-LTE B38 / B39 / B40 / B41 ( 2555-2655MHz)
TD-SCDMA B34 / B39
3G WCDMA B1 / B2 / B5 / B8 (850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100MHz)
CDMA2000 / 1X BC0
2G GSM B2 / B3 / B5 / B8 (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz)
The Note 4 is made in India and the Note 4x is made in China. The differences in bands on the chart above reflects the needed bands to work in China. Since they posted this chart they have also added lte bands that work in the U.S. (band 4 and whatever AT&T uses) but did not update the chart to reflect that. All newer Note 4X's are global 4G capable though.

Korean Variant - Note 8 (SM-N950N) does have the 1700MHz / Band 4 to work on T-Mobile

The question of whether the Korean 256GB models (SM-N950N) of the Note 8 having the 1700MHz / Band 4 support or not was in question due to the limited info. online, not showing these bands listed early on...
However, it looks like now that people have the 256GB Note 8's in their hands, many have proved that the Korean variant does indeed have 1700MHz / Band 4 to work 100% on T-Mobile....ie... Full support of all the Bands. (Less the 600Mhz, which is only available on the LG V30 as the first phone so far to feature the new frequency. That's for another topic...
Can those of you who have the 256GB model on T-Mobile, confirm how it's working along with some screen shots of speedtests etc?...
Thanks...
What about Band 66 which is the 1700/2100 one.
I just looked up on https://www.frequencycheck.com/carrier-compatibility/OgWGFv/samsung-sm-n950n-galaxy-note-8-td-lte-256gb-samsung-baikal/t-mobile-united-states and it says this one is missing.
Anyone want to chime in on this?

Looking at the 4G Specs here:
http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950n/specs/3552
It appears it does support both 1700MHz and 2100MHz frequencies, though it doesn't specify band 66. It states it supports these:
LTE Cat16 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28)
TD-LTE 1900/2300/2500/2600 (Bands 38,39,40,41)

If you want to reliably verify what bands a Samsung device has my advice to you would be to go to the Samsung website located in the regionn or country that the device is sold in.
Then navigate to the N8 on that website and check the specs.
I've learned never to trust what those third party websites state. Especially frequency check.
Here, I've googled it for you...

B66 is not important for most people on Tmo USA. Google it & see if it's even available in your area. B66 is an extension of B4 & currently not available in a lot of areas. B71 will probably be more of a difference but Note 8s don't support it anyway.
Generally B4, B12, & B2 is what will be primarily used. N950F supports B66 but I've never seen my phone connect to B66 anywhere around me.

Any limitations with the international version on TMOUS? Phone specs don't mention bands 66 or 71

It does not have band 66 or 71. T-Mobile also hasn't widely rolled out these bands either. In my area I only have access to band 4 and 12. I am waiting to see when I get my phone if it supports wi-fi calling or VoLTE.

WiFi calling is a must have for me. Cell coverage is spotty at work and non existent at home. WiFi calling has solved this for the most part. The mate 20 pro looks so appealing, but I'd hate to find out I couldn't make a phone call.

I believe the phone has an option to turn it on. But I think TMobile is unique in allowing wifi calling, so not sure if it'll work. I "think" I saw it on an EMUI 9 feature walkthrough.

Please do! And link it here when you get a chance. Thanks!
Huawei Canada is now listing a model LYA-L0C which does have band 66, but not 71. Not sure when they are shipping.
I have the Asian version (sold for Hong Kong, Australia and Philippines) of the Huawei Mate 10. Use it on Tmobile in US. I could never get wifi calling or VOIP to work although Tmobile supports this. Maybe an edit to build.prop could fix this but I decided not to root phone. Interesting to see if same for Mate 20 pro.

Hi Nicely!
I assume by now you've received your Mate 20 Pro for use on T-Mobile's network as it's been 2 1/2 weeks since your last post in here. I too have T-Mobile.
Just got the OnePlus 6T after seeing how great that phone is, though the camera isn't as good as Huawei's, even with the modded GCam options out there.
So I'm DYING to know lol......................were you able to successfully enable or activate VoLTE on T-Mobile's network? I would like to read your thorough review, but right now, I just want to know about the VoLTE thing. Wi-Fi Calling too, but that is NOT a deal breaker like not having VoLTE is. Please just let me know. If you have screenshots of the option in Settings, or even more importantly, of a call where 4G LTE stays in place (and doesn't revert back to 4G or 3G) during the duration of the call, that would be awesome too.
Also, did you get the Single or Dual SIM version??
This is always a pain in the a$$ thing I have to research when recently buying unlocked phones for use on T-Mobile's network. I wish it wasn't like this, but whatever. lol
Thank you!!

I'm curious to know about the EU/UK and CA versions, too.
Regarding the Chinese variant (mine is LYA-AL00) on TMO US, I haven't been able to see the options for VoLTE or VoWIFI. Somebody on a European network with this version had the option, however. I guess TMO just seems to be special in that regard?
I'm at .137 as of last night.

Oh ok. I checked and that one doesn't have Band 12. Only 2 & 4. In my area (Chicagoland) I need Bands 2, 4, and 12, and 71 is about to get deployed in the next few mos. However, I think I can live without it IF VoLTE is found to work on T-Mo for it like it was for the P20 Pro.
Thanks!!

Oh, my bad! I didn't scroll down far enough to the LTE section. Yes it does!! :good:
But of course, on T-Mobile, and the reason why it's a big deal to me, is that T-Mobile WON'T let you access its Band 12 radio band UNLESS the phone is certified with T-Mo for VoLTE. But I'm finding more and more exceptions to this. The OnePlus 5 for example that my dad has shows VoLTE as an option, the brand new Sony Xperia XZ3 I just bought (and returned) surprisingly had it, and the P20 Pro has it too. None of them have Band 71 though, which annoys me lol, b/c my area is about to get it soon. But whatever. I'm finding also that having the perfect phone just isn't an option for me. lol

Hey Nicely,
Thanks for responding back so quickly!
Ok. That sux!! lol But ok. I guess I'm keeping my OnePlus 6T then. Awesome phone for sure, but I know the camera on the Mate 20 Pro would outdo it, even with me using the GCam mod from XDA devs on it.
Ok how about anyone who owns the DUAL SIM L29 version?? If you have T-Mobile, does VoLTE work?? Sometimes different models work I think, so hopefully someone reading this has one and can confirm.
If not, I will wait for the P30 Pro and HOPEFULLY that does (and Band 71 wouldn't hurt either Huawei!! lol) too.
Again, thanks so much. At least now I know I'm not missing out since VoLTE is deal breaker for me personally.

Hmm ok.
To be sure, I'd prob make a call and see if it stayed in 4G LTE or not. That's the BEST way to know for sure really. Up to you. That app could just be wrong too.
