Nord N10 5G development - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

These is nothing in the https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/oneplus-nord-n10-5g-roms-kernels-recoveries-o.11811/ , so I guess there is no development being done at all. I was hoping for a usable lineage, but it needs a working TWRP.
Is there anything being worked on that could be posted there to give us some hope?

Mine is a secondary device, so at some point I will move it over. I think we will still need a TWRP, which may not happen because if the small size of owners.

They have a "recovery" but will it be useful in installing lineage, or will it have to be TWRP ?

I have no idea. I just found this. It would be nice if someone actually tried to run that recovery and ROM. I'm not doing it since there's not enough information and instructions provided. It's nice to see that there is someone working on it though.

It's LOS recovery and booting . It can be used to side load zips. But as soon as you mount /system the block verification is broken and OTAs won't work anymore. If you *really * want to try I can give more detailed information but I wouldnt recommend as it's completely untested

I'm currently working on A11, but I only uploaded A10 trees. I could share a PixelExperience A10 build. Its stable but has some small bugs like, DT2W doesnt work.
I booted A11 already, but its buggy af. @kakatkayakshar helped me.

I tried it too, this was before I found out nord and nord n10 are totally different. I would say looks like we are at the mercy of our benefactor Billaids. I have pixel experience on my one plus 6. I've booted the pe recovery on my n10 but afraid to go further in case wanting to return to stock or try los. I've used msm tool but aways holding my breath doing so.

Hi guy i can't enable developer options in my oneplus n10 5g t-mobile I tap build options and nothing happens any idea Thanks..

Hello all,
I tried to play a bit with AOSP and thank to phhusson experiments with Treble I managed to have an AOSP 9.0 Pie ROM for our Moto G6, of course this is a WIP, I still have a lot of stuff to work on but it's a good starting point!
Since I use my Moto G6 also for my work I can't backup/format/flash my device every day, would be very very nice if anyone would like to help me to buy a new one dedicated to the development.
The goal is 250CHF (see here: https://goo.gl/mWeKFz)
If you would like to contribute you can donate here: paypal.me/pools/c/88dRQdo7o5
BIG thanks!

Oh okay. Actually I don't have the device. I'll probably get it next week, and as an android enthusiast, I couldn't stand Lenovo pushing updates late to the Moto G6 so I got excited when a Custom kernel and now your GSI showed up... Thanks for your work again.
@secuflag
I was successfully able to root phh's AOSP GSI.
If this ROM is based on that, root might most likely work on this one as well.
I'm just waiting to be able to flash gapps, that's the only thing stopping me from moving to 9.0
I just tested root access, it works :good:
Anyone tested this with the moto g 6 play?
I have one more question. Is this a 32bit or 64bit firmware? I'm really interested in using the GCam port with this device.

you can flash Gapps just fine, back when treble roms didnt come with android go gapps baked in, you would have to boot the phone up once, reboot into recovery, install gapps from unencrypted sd card or internal memory if you're using the encryption disabler zip, and then wipe/reboot again.

But The Moto G6 runs on Snapdragon 450 which is a 64BIT SoC, so...? I thought maybe This GSI would be 64bit?

technically yes, but moto decided to compile everything in 32bit. 64 bit will come in time, but probably not for a few months.

I am on MIUI 12 running Android 10, didn't unlock bootloader yet nor any custom recovery. I used to install custom roms back in 2012 when Xolo Q800 was launched. Is there an easy way to get up and running with this ROM here? (Really excited to use this)
I will appreciate if community can point me in the right direction which is easy for me to grasp (I know how recoveries work - but it's just that I am doing this after a gap of 8 long years)
Great rom at the first sight . Good work and face unlock is working i like it

MegaThread was super confusing. Honest feedback. Its making me more paranoid than confident.
I found this video on Youtube which says New Method and meant for people on Miui Android 10.
Can you please tell me what extra (or different) steps I need to take in order to get to this ROM here in this thread?
Very smooth, no issues so far. One thing though, in the "What's working" list, the OP listed FM Radio, but there is no FM Radio App in the ROM or am I missing something?
Anyway, thanks for a great ROM even though it's just an initial/early build.
@prateek.khurana31 I just followed the steps here as listed on the Megathread (CFW Migration Steps), using method 2. Went from stock Global ROM A10 to this in just a few minutes.

You might have to be using the android 10 vendors, flashed successfully with them
So far the only issue that I found is that the backups are not working, you can backup data to your google account, but you CAN'T restore data.
EDIT: The problem that I am having is that this is not in the rom, i can't restore my backup from google, you can use other apps and methods to restore your data though.

I successfully restored apps from google backup on my account, also used Migrate flasher and helper for the data. Only problems I ran into were flashing GApps, didn't work for me. Kept saying there was insufficient system storage when I flashed full, just let it run and installed gboard manually then set up phone

Aaah yes, I flashed core fine but felt the need to mess about with it lol. Ended up flashing part of stock, just the issue is it tries to replace AOSP keyboard with gboard but it doesn't install gboard from the flash, so you have to skip the set-up, move gboard to your phone, install and then you can set-up

I've tried all the roms avaliable, and I recommend Arrow os, dot os, and sakura, but maybe you want something simple like pixel experience, lineague os, or maybe something highly customizable like crdroid or ressurection remix...
All the roms are fine, the developers are doing a really good job, choose the one you like more.

I've tried all of them minus RR and Ancient and my favourite is CRDroid, good customisation while remaining stock-like. Second is probably project Sakura, third is ArrowOS if BT audio gets fixed, fourth is Pixel Experience and last is Lineage. Lineage had pretty bad stability on snapchat and overall I find CRDroid the best.

You have to provide a bit more than that. Saying "it doesn't work" does not help you on anything and in consequence does not help others that can have the same issue...
1 - What is your device?
2 - What is the size of your system partition?
3 - Which variant are you trying to flash?
4 - If you are using a vndklite variant, try a regular one
5 - Do you have the same issue flashing other GSI images or is it just this one?

to know what arch are you going to use, pls install treble check.
permissivier makes the kernel permissive so that some roms can boot up
do you have twrp? if no then samsung has no fastboot and you really need twrp in flashing GSIs

Oh boy, another custom ROM!
Make sure to update your device to the latest version of OxygenOS 12 (C.23) BEFORE installing this ROM. Mismatched firmware can cause weird issues.
How do I install this?
Installation is more or less the same as LineageOS. In short, if you're coming from stock:
- Update to the latest version of OxygenOS
- Unlock your bootloader
- Flash the dtbo, vendor_boot, and boot files in fastboot
- Reboot to recovery, wipe data, reboot to recovery again
- Sideload the copy-partitions zip
- Sideload the PixelExperience zip
- Reboot & enjoy
Detailed instructions
Does this work on the T-Mobile/Metro variants?
Yes. Keep in mind that the method to unlock the bootloader on carrier vatiants is different than on the unlocked variant. Once you unlock the bootloader, the rest of the installation procedure is the same.
Is this ROM stable enough for daily use?
I think it is. Check the known issues section to know what's not working before you install.
Does this ROM pass SafetyNet/Play Integrity out of the box?
Yes. Note that installing mods, such as Magisk, may trip SafetyNet/Play Integrity.
Where's PixelExperience Plus?
I didn't feel like building it, sorry.
A note about building PixelExperience:
If you want to build PE for this device, you'll need to make a few modifications:
You'll need the kernel build tools from AOSP. Add
XML:
<project path="prebuilts/kernel-build-tools" name="kernel/prebuilts/build-tools" clone-depth="1" remote="aosp" revision="refs/tags/android-13.0.0_r0.60" />
to your local manifest.
Use my hardware/oplus fork.
Get the proprietary files from TheMuppets.
Thanks to everyone who helped bring custom ROMs to this device, including:

@lzgmc - thanks a lot for this.
PixelExperience has been my favorite ROM and I have been looking for this for my N200(s) for a while.
Do you think you would be able to provide regular updates for the ROM?
I don't see any update option in the System settings.
Are updates not supported?
The cell network is extremely flaky - going in and out every 2 seconds.
I am using an xfinity mobile (verizon mvno) sim, in case that matters.

There's no updater app in unofficial builds. You're gonna have to wait for official builds

What firmware are you flashing from?
Thanks a lot for the support..
I'm using the latest firmware from the zip file linked here -

@lzgmc - could you please recommend a device firmware that would go well with this rom?
Currently, I am using DE2117_11_C.16 and the combination is completely unusable. Thankfully, this is not my primary phone so I could wait for this to get fixed.
Unlocked (DE2117_11_C.16)
Full C.16 update
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/6be3f133f8fb9bbcc30d787679bd7b5da5e30995.zip
There was a problem with my N200 and it got fixed after a device reset. Sorry for the false alarm.
This ROM is quite stellar

Would you mind pointing me to the C23 firmware that I could download? I am seeing a lot of references to it but I couldn't find any download link to the firmware for N200.
Thanks

Sadly, the only way to get this firmware version (at least for now) is by taking OTA while running stock.
