Huawei P20 - port camera and master ai?

Hi Everyone! Huawei P20 was just launched today, looking at the specs --- I can't see much difference besides the Camera, do you think its possible to port its camera and so called "Master AI"?
Thanks!
Why only the camera? It should be possible to port over all of the software.
I think that Huawei should really provide an upgrade to 8.1 and all of the new software functionality. Pretty horrible to release a flagship phone and 6 months later simply forget about it.
Update: The camera app seems to be already available in a leak, see
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8-pro/how-to/firmware-leak-t3760517
I'm pretty sure the mate 10 will get 8.1 in the next few months

****few months .... ya but in a few months android 9 will be released and maybe we will get it in april 2019! I don't like Huawei updates nor sammy's ... i really hope nokia will release a proper flagship soon... android one is the way....
Mate 9 never got EMUI 5.1 / Android 7.1 that came out with P10 and P10 Pro
Relax, this is the first phone that gets android 8.1+ NNAPI integration and not just a simple 8.1 like nokia and essential did. Basically as the guy said above with the leaks, all of the new features of the P20 are coming to us and that takes some time to implement. Granted our brand new mate 10 pro aka huawei's flagship feels obsolate, outdated and lacking in hardware compared to the P20 series(speakers, wireless charge, bigger sensor, laser) but that will soon change in some part with android 8.1.. Hold your wallets and do patiense like we all do

How do you know all the new features of the P20 will come to the Mate 10?
@tboy2000: Huawei Mate 10 to get P20 AI features with Android 8.1
We have internal beta builds of 8.1 for the Mate 10 (non-Pro Chinese version) so they are being developed.
That being said, with the Mate 9 we also had internal builds of EMUI 5.1, but it was never released.
Most likely time to get the enhancements publicly is when Android P rolls out.

Thanks. So it's not 'all the new features' of the P20. It's just some extra AI scenes. He did not confirm face unlock, super slow motion, AIS, etc etc

Ofc its NOT ALL THE FEATURES of the P20, because some of them are hardware dependent, which Mate 10 Pro don`t have

I was just quoting Aethergr who said "all the features". I know some features are hardware dependant. Ok?

P10/P10Plus never got Android 7.1, I don't know what world you live in, but in our world neither P10 Pro nor ANY Huawei P/Mate with OEM Android 7.1 exists.

Actually NONE of the P20 AI features is hardware dependent compared to Mate 10/Pro, AIS is a software solution, it just needed to account for OIS which isn't hard. P20 Pro is a different story.

think again the option to record in 960 fps is hardware dependent along with a few other modes
Is it working on mate 10?
Camera was 'ported' (it works simply by replacing hwcamera2 in /product/app/) right after firmware was leaked.
Here's a Magisk module if anyone wants it: https://mega.nz/#!peB21LaS!BS_5OIn6_eG4U8PRZCEzd6wdZCftANdHiIyZbFTiE8k

I saw this thread today
The P20 Camera app looks nicer at least
Hello, I was interested flashing the port however I'm kinda stuck whether if I root my phone (includes unlocking bootloader) will I still be able to receive and flash updates thru the updates checker? Or every time update is installed, I'll have to reroot it again. Recently came from note 3, flashing and doing things in Huawei are kinda different. I bricked my Note 3 several times and used odin tons of times so makes me think twice before doing things bec not much of stock firmware is available for flashing

Is this real???!! ?

Hello everyone...
I saw an article on google feed it says that:-
'' The Huawei*Mate 10*series will be the first to receive the GPU Turbo update. Huawei’s GPU Turbo increases the processing power of the GPU by up to 60% while reducing power consumption by 30%.
Since most of*Huawei’s devices use in-house chipsets, they have found a way to push the feature to its other phones via a software update. The update will arrive on the Mate 10 by the end of this month.''
'' Huawei also announced some new features coming to the Mate 10. First, the Mate 10 series will support cloud computing starting June 26. It will then receive the EMUI 8.1 update in mid-July which will bring 960fps slow-motion recording.''

I saw that too but im checking firmware finder and there is no any firmware that included those yet. I hope we get it as soon as possible
I believe its true as seen it in more than one place
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
Well for slowmo i dont really care. Il probably use it once and forget about it. As for gpu boost, they were looking for testers for mate 10 pro on chineese forum the other day. Im fine with the phone the way it is, but its always nice to be surprised like this.
I would like to have fixed current issues and hope it will with 8.1 (Stereo inverted bug on record / Rotation of home screen / Video Quality from camera)
They want to concentrate on fixing all the things that are broken or currently missing from our mate 10 and also meet there current missed promises about updates rather than promise more
So looks like we will get the GPU Booster, additional AI Camera scenes, Nightime steady shot, we just got face unlock, all we need now is the new portrait lighting mode and the AR avatars from P20 Pro and we should be on par with the P20 Pro.
Meh.
Europeans.

maybe in September or October 2019 sorry 2018...
Okay my friend and thanks.
Honestly, I don't think my NXT-L29 will get it. I like Huawei better than Samsung but I bought a Note 9 even though I wanted Mate 10 Pro purely because Huawei is so ****ty with North American updates.

I went from the mate 8 to the mate 10 pro and the update schedule has been okay for the most part. But I have the global variant bla l29. I have been very impressed with the face unlock update and I've recieved the gpu turbo update but since I don't play games much on my phone I haven't taken advantage of it. The night shot update with AI stabilisation is very impressive too.
Huawei have gotten better with software updates for the most part especially when it comes to bringing new features but the update schedule is unpredictable. Atm I have recieved the September patch while my mate 8 hasn't updated in quite a few months and always took ages for updates.
Hi still not available for rom oreo not come

Huawei reveals full list of smartphones getting EMUI 10

Late last year, Huawei announced EMUI 10, its latest software based on Android 10. They kicked things off with a beta that was made available for many Huawei and Honor devices. Today, the company is announcing (via press release) the rollout schedule for stable EMUI 10, starting with the Huawei P30 series.
Huawei continues to march on despite its well-documented situation within the Android ecosystem. EMUI 10 brings many of the features we’ve come to know from Android 10, including Dark mode, as well as Huawei’s own interface updates and performance and security improvements. You can check out our hands-on with EMUI 10 on the Huawei P30 Pro to see it in action.
The good news for those wondering about Google services is the devices listed in the roadmap were released before the ban. That means they will be allowed to continue to use Google services. Huawei has listed six devices that will be getting EMUI 10 this month and a bunch of other devices scheduled for “later months.”
