Question Mi 11X Pro(Haydnin) Overheating in Xiaomi.eu ROM? - Xiaomi Mi 11i / 11X Pro / Redmi K40 Pro+

Hi, I flashed Xiaomi.eu on my Mi 11X Pro but due to some reason it overheats a lot can anyone who has flashed Eu in Mi 11X Pro tell me if same happens with them as well.

Are you using Stable or Dev build. I noticed that overheating issue were reduced in recently Dev builds.

I tried both builds stable and beta the device overheats in both.

@termination5646 what are the advantages of using EU ROM. Also, how did you disable NFC via adb? Thanks!!

Mostly more features and MIUI dialer and Messages. Battery life is same as the Global ROM. Ram management is a little bit better. To disable NFC use the App Inspector to get package name and then uninstall it via ADB (NFC service). The speakers sound quality is noticeably better and louder. Downside is that it takes a little bit more time to charge nothing huge around 10 minutes more. Also you cannot use Google Ambient Display while charging and Google Discover also has issues. Other than that everything is fine. Also it does heat up a little more than it does in the Global ROM again nothing huge just a little bit. Overall device is smoother than Global. Performance in benchmarks is also similar. Also there's a chance that some of these problems might not be there in the stable Xiaomi.eu build. I am on the weekly beta.

Hey bro,
I just bought this phone and I'm thinking of installing the EU rom. What's your impression so far of the EU rom? Is it worth installing over the default Indian version that comes with the phone? Do you receive OTA updates? If yes, then I'm guessing you receive EU updates. Do we have to remove the NFC services again when an update comes?
Is the EU rom worth the headache?

Redmi note 4 with custom roms or Mi A1?

I am buying a new phone and I am not sure whether to get the note 4 with its bigger battery and install a custom rom on it (I can never use miui) or just get the A1 shipped with the vanilla android, are rn4's custom roms stable and smooth or the builds are not that good? Will the A1 be faster than rn4 with lineage or rrn for example? I like RN4 more because of the bigger battery, I don't mind the camera at all.
I also knew there are some rn4s that have mic issues as well as dead pixels, is that true?
if for custom roms for mido then most of them are stable and can be used as daily driver. And about the dead pixels i think it is true as my phone too some. I think it is the problem with mido bought from flipkart. So you can buy from mi.com.

What about the in call mic in custom roms? I know they did fix the issue with latest versions of miui, by tweaking the noise cancelation algorithm, is that present on custom roms?

i didnt experience any problem with call mic in custom roms. It works fine.
and what about a signal drop when phone is charging and being heated up in custom roms?
If you like the looks of a1 go with that, else RN4 checks every box with a custom ROM. Even camera is far better with the Google camera.
Also performance is silky smooth , I am using Paranoid Android 7.3 currently, everything works fine and battery life is also good.

I like the RN4 more because of the bigger battery but what frightens me most actually is the in call mic problems, I saw thousands of people complaining about it on forums, if my unit happens to be affected, do custom roms solve it or I will have to stick on miui newest version because it has the noise cancellation disabled?
Go with A1. A1 battery is good. You won't regret
Look, am not sure about mi a1 when it comes to development due to its A/B partition and etc stuffs. You won't see much development I guess.
If you look properly there has been a port of mi a1 stock Rom for redmi note 4 snapdragon variant just posted. It's been confirmed by Xiaomi on its Mi a1 launch event that mi a1 will get official oOreo by end of this year. So, choice is yours. If you want stock with latest otas everytime then mi a1, if youre a custom Roms lover then mido.

Just got my poco today, LOS miui.eu, globe miui (not global), or just debloat

I use to use custom firmware for everything i owned but haven't been in the game for a while, getting my pocophone f1 today and wanted some advice. I was trying to read up but it's a little overwhelming.
I assume if I used a custom firmware that i'd have to manual update it every so often, is that an easy process?
I read that using LOS for instance isn't quite as "snappy" as miui, is that true? Also I saw a performance video on a stock poco f1 and regarding the multitasking, I saw that it always (almost always?) refreshed the app when switching back to it where as some phones it was compared to didn't. Does that happen with custom OSes?
My location is in Japan, is there a difference between using miui.eu and mi-globe? I heard mi-globe was based on miui.eu but i don't know what the differences are.
Can people enlighten me on pros and cons?
There are pretty much two choice you can made here:
MIUI.eu,which is pretty much debloated MIUI with extra stuff. It is aslo the only one with working internal audio screen recorder now on andriod 9.0.
LOS custom rom would work as fine if you keep your vendor and firmware updated, might be even better if you goes with mircoG route.
No there is no big different if you are on japan,i thought japan dont really have good support on band there?
Thanks, I think I decided to try out the mi-globe version of miui first.
I saw on a performance comparison video of the poco vs something else that when multitasking and switching back to other apps they will refresh them alot more than other phones with equal ram. Are there any tweaks to keep them from refreshing?

The easiest way would be to lock the apps you need in the memory from recent screen

Questions regarding xiaomi eu rom

If I switch from miui global to xiaomi eu using the twrp method, will it be possible to update my phone using the check for update option provided in settings, or will I have to flash a zip file using twrp every time an update comes out? Also, for those people who switched from global to eu because of the horrible battery life in global, did the change improve battery life?
Can't say about battery but probably won't be much of a difference...
I switched because of missing call recording feature on global
The updater in eu rom will just download the zip for twrp basically.
It is smoother than global. Also battery life has gone better for me.
surprised missing recorder called in the dialer after putting miui 12 , does it happen to others?
Battery life is fine I guess
Camera2 API was also enabled by default so Gcam should work great tho my unit seems to be defective
Stability wise it is based on China Stable Beta so BUGGY at times
You get more features not found in Global or other releases so that's nice
And as touch goes, if you got the lag/ghosting issues like I do then it won't fix it, sorry
for me battery life is better in global rom and i don't see any deference in performance

MIUI 12 strange battery drain

I have noticed that the MIUI 12 version 12.0.1 would have a strangely fast battery drain overall on my mi note 10 lite which I recently purchased. An update for the MIUI 12.02 just rolled in today and has appeared to be a bit kinder on the battery life. Anyone else having battery related issues with MIUI 12 on their mi note 10 lite ? I am really thinking about flashing back to MIUI 11 once my bootloader can be unlocked tomorrow.

I debloated my phone yesterday from all the annoying services of Google as well as Xiaomi ones and particularly the Joyose which is the telemetry and ad service and my battery life has sky rocketed! I will upload screwnshots of the usage shortly.

Allow me also mention that I am on miui 12.0.3 and have also restricted the applications that tend to autostart for no reason. Chrome in particular I uninstalled since it seemed to autostart for no reason frequently.
Same issue on miui 12.0.2
Bought this phone some days ago & battery is not performing as well as it should be considering the phone holds a memoth battery.

Indeed it is pretty strange but in my case de bloating my phone and disabling quite a few Google services helped me. My only issue is that the Other apps power consumption just does not make sense for me being more than 10% which would be the case for my old redmi note 7. Anyways it might be due to dirty flashing although I have factory reset my phone through TWRP the last time I flashed MIUI 12 12.0.3 (xiaomi.eu that is). I don't really want to go back to miui 11.0.5 which seems to be the best miui version battery wise due to some miui 12 features that I like but if no fixes are presented to this on future miui 12 updates I might just have to refrain to flashing miui 11...

Question System wide drops to 60hz after update

Hello, after the MIUI 12.5.3.0 EEA Update, I'm experiencing refresh rate drops to 60hz while using the phone and it reaches 38-39c battery temperature. Before the phone stayed at 90hz just fine. Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
Yes I have noticed the same. Also when the battery gets to 30-35% it forces the screen to 60Hz. I had to reboot after fully charging for it to go back to 90Hz. Not sure if it's bug or intended battery savings.

I'm not getting the drop when the battery is lower than 35%. Did you get drops when the battery reach 38-39c also with previous firmware or only with the new one released yesterday?
Also, I don't know if it's normal, but 60hz on this phone feels a bit more stuttery than other 60hz phones I tried. Like the animations are stuttering/dropping frames more often at 60hz than 90hz

I'm not sure I pushed the phone to higher temperature before this update. But I can't recall it happening before. And yes 6Hz sometimes feels more like 30Hz for certain animations.
Worth to note is that I'm on China stable 12.5.3 but did not notice any of this on 12.5.2.
I think I'll try to flash xiaomi.eu weekly or stable next week when I have the bootloader unlocked... I really don't understand how the animations at 60hz stutter sometimes and they seem smoother on my friend REDMI 9 with a mediatek cpu..

There are people reporting the same issue on other phones too over at xiaomi eu. Also xiaomi eu has not been as smooth for me as the china stable hence why I'm on this firmware in the first place. Better optimization overall. The 12.6 weeklys has a little graphical big too that I can't stand in the notification center/control center. Xiaomi have not fixed it in almost two months.
Xiaomi eu stable 12.5 suffers from stuttering animations when opening apps frequently. Not well optimized at all compared to global stable.

I'm currently on 12.5.3 EEA firmware. Next week I can flash 12.5.3 CN like you have, the 21.7.7 CN weekly, or xiaomi.eu stable or weekly.
If I understand correctly you're suggesting the CN Stable and to avoid xiaomi.eu and the CN weekly? Does the CN version have play store already installed and all the bands available also in the global rom?
Anyway, if I'd have to flash the CN official rom should I just download the 4gb ROM and flash it in fastboot mode using MiFlash while ticking CLEAN ALL? It's my first xiaomi phone, not new to modding but I just want to be sure

At this point I would recommend China stable. Later on perhaps eu weekly will have it sorted. There is some cleaning to do when first installing china but after that I don't notice any Chinese stuff really. And yeah the fastboot install with MiFlash is the easiest way with clean all, don't lock! Don't forget to not lock the bootloader when flashing. Basic Google services are preinstalled and also Play Store. I only had to manually install calendar sync apk. All bands are working.
As an extra I downloaded and installed the latest stable release of the system launcher from apkmirror. So I recommended patching boot.img with Magisk app then flash it in fastboot any time you want after setting up the ROM.
After all this the system runs very very smooth.

just to be sure if it's a normal thing, have you ever noticed in any rom that the animations of closing/opening apps and switching apps sometimes get faster by themself? It happens if I open multiple apps and start switching between them; at some point all the animations become really faster by themself like they speed up 2.5x.
I don't know if it's intended or it's a bug, noticed it both in 12.5.1 and 12.5.3

No I haven't noticed that personally in any ROM so far. I would take notice if that would happen.

I have the same issue... so annoying. Please post when you found a fix, I will also.
EDIT - On MIUI 12.5.3 The system goes to 60hz when the phone reaches a certain temperature. The threshold for it is quite low.

Yes, they need to set the threshold higher... I don't know how it is in other roms like the chinese one.
Anyway I don't have big problems with the throttling to 60hz if the treshold is higher, but I feel the phone is much slower with 60hz compared to others, the animations stutter and lose frames much more often.
