The update showed up on my notifs but was gone after I tapped it, thinking of going manual cause I can't wait. I'm coming from the buggy 12.0.1 A11, how's the overall performance and what about the memory management? Is it finally not as aggressive as before like what they promised with 12.5?

Is the split screen function back in this release?

Can anyone tell me if MIUI 12.5 has LHDC? I got a pair of Mi Air 2S and my girlfriend's Poco X3 Pro with MIUI 12.5 has it.

No it doesn't, I just tested it myself and it only supports up to AAC like usual. LHDC is in developer mode sure but it doesn't activate.

Hows the ram management? Is it still as aggressive as before? The official rom can't sync my 10k contacts because of aggressive ram management and google contacts app.
I tried the xiaomi.eu version and the whole rom was extremely laggy on 12.5.1. I reverted back to 12.0.9. immediately. Is it the same for official rom? Is 12.5.1. laggy?
Lastly, does anyone know if it's safe to install the Indonesian official rom on my Global variant phone?

I'm currently using 12.5.1 Official Global ROM. And I think it's terrible. I can open multiple apps without having to worry one will close even if it's a heavy game. BUT! The normal background apps that worked fine before 12.5 were restarting like crazy. Even the game turbo overlay in games gets closed while in-game (Genshin Impact). Most of the time the refresh rate randomly goes down to 60 or 90 when scrolling which is laggy to our eyes. And my only access to floating window is through game turbo.
I recommend sticking with 12.0.9 for now.

Thanks. Makes matters much clearer. Faced the same issue when I went to Xiaomi.eu 12.5.1. for a while.

Honor 5x kills my apps

Hello folks,
I'm not getting push notifications on my phone, i use Whatsapp for messaging and calls and it works but when the screen turns off for a long time the app gets killed or something and i don't get messages nor calls through Whatsapp, until i wake up the phone and launch the app. That's when i get all the notifications and missed calls.
Things i've tried:
Changing the phone to performance mode
Protecting the app from closing when screen turns off
Leaving the app open and locked sliding down on the recent apps tab
Reinstalling and updating the app
I don't know what else to do this is driving me crazy. I was planning to stay with the stock Android but all these weird configurations make me consider going with Cyanogenmod if i can't fix it.
Going to CyanogenMod is a good decision. EMUI has problems in handling whatsapp notifications, which they say will be fixed by OS updates.
The problem of killing apps remains in EMUI till now. EMUI says killing apps is good for RAM management. But they should give more idle time for the app before killing it. You could have seen the reviews everywhere that the RAM management is not good in EMUI. Its default behaviour. You cant change it.

Damn that's pretty bad and should have been fixed by now.
i regret buying this phone if i'm forced to install a custom ROM to make something basic work.
Also the EMUI interface is disgusting so i guess i'll be installing Cyanogenmod anyways. The stock Android interface is much nicer.
Do i just flash the ROM and gapps from my SD card or there's something else i should do? Unlock bootloader or something like that?

I am noticing that this phone will randomly just force close an app, like no matter if I am in system settings or in Facebook. I have used phone with less ram that handles process better than EMUI. The sad part is I bought this phone because I wanted a close to MIUI experience, although it is close, it appears to missing the mark in so many ways. I really wish Xiaomi would start selling to USA

RAM Management, Yeah EMUI doesn't do that part fine. Hoping so to get improved in future updates.

EMUI is just so app unfriendly when it comes to RAM management
I haven't flashed the custom ROM yet, emailed honor US support a month ago to see if they're planning to fix it but they ignore my emails.
I'll end up selling the phone and getting Xiaomi if CM13 gives me problems.
Sorry for the offtopic but is there a way to back up the stock Android in case i need to go back?
You can always adjust the minfree values using several apps.
I think it has nothing to do with RAM, because it kills the app even if there's nothing else running.

Maybe you enabled "Don't keep activities" in Developer options.
Sent from my honor 5X using XDA Labs
you can look into this
Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps
Here you can select all the Apps you want to keep running even after the screen goes off for a long time without auto-killing them
hope this helps you even without switching to CM
or
check this
go to the App Info. of those Apps which you feel they are being killed and click the Battery and then check the Keep Running after screen box
as you find in attachments

What (not rooted) ROMs support banking apps?

Hi,
I tried using the search functionality, but all the threads I've found are either dated or irrelevant.
I'm currently using the PE10+ ROM, but a few bugs got me looking to change.
I'm looking for a stable daily driver, hopefully with gcam incorporated, but I can flash it later.
I do use banking apps like gpay, and don't plan on rooting the device.
I've been thinking about LOS, but let me know what you think, and whether or not it supports banking apps
Kind regards.
you can use miui eu its preety neat and bloat free. Have been using it for more than 18 months feels solid.

Thanks for the reply!
I tried MIUI for a while when I just got the device, but it had bugs that really annoyed me:
1. I keep my phone on vibrate during the day, but during the nights i set it to DND on a timer (after so and so hours it comes out of DND). On MIUI, it never came back to vibrate, but rather switched to ringing on a low volume setting.
2. If I listened to FM radio, and got a Whatsapp alert, the FM radio would mute, and never come back. I had to kill the app and open it again.

FM I haven't used in years so I cannot comment on that. I am using MIUI 12 eu rom. I don't face the vibrate issue you are facing. Night mode works flawlessly for me.
You can try Havoc & Evolution X. Both of them support banking apps without root.
You can use Pixel Experience for banking accounts, but I think you'll still have to use magisk hide thus be rooted. Best option is to relock bootloader after installing the stock rom and stock recovery.
Try Oxygen OS it's really good in battery backup and touch response and sound with mono audio , with gcam( have to flash though but working good ) , ambient display with pulse notification and video enhancing alll are good man it's worth a try !
Banking apps supprts in some versions and in some don't ! In my rom g pay and p pe half working , can open check balance and receive but can't able to send so I'm using paytm bank and it's working flawless .
If other than Oxygen os i suggest to go for evolution and PE with 10+ version .. it's awesome and can be your regular driver . Hope you likes one of them . Have a good poco exp

General Update 12.0.10 (DON'T UPDATE)

The phone UI lags as hell. Most of the problems earlier fixed just gone in the wind.
1) Fast charging got slower. Phone charged in an hour, been plugged in for a hour still at 49% (started at 22%), checked, rapid charge showing on lock screen
[Edit2: it took 1 hour 22 minutes to get 100% from 49%]
2) lock screen filled with notifications, messes up with lock screen, its gone weird, looks awful
3) bluetooth connectivity sucks, my earbuds keep lagging, works perfect on other phones
4) phone goes to deep sleep, dosent wakes up untill hardpress power button
5) option to long press window when on recent apps and it showed menu? Gone. Like seriously
[Edit1: the long press now takes to the app settings instead of giving option to split window, lock or float]
6) Vibration stopped working, tried everything
[Edit3: Downloaded a vibration app over playstore, triggered the motor, works alright now]
[Edit4:]
7) Camera quality in video calls has gone to sh*t. Looks like a 480p 2013 chinese phone camera, its horrible. Whatsapp, zoom, skype, instagram, effected all of it.
Can anyone else confirm all this?
I can confirm i have same issues (except 1 & 6 ) MIUI is becoming a really trash these days...
i'm just waiting for Stable Recovery and Stable Custom ROMs (no camera issue) so i can switch to a CustomROM

I'm confused, the mi.com forums they say this rom is global beta

So maybe those who reported those problems downloaded the stable beta instead of the stable? (this rom was in beta status about 4 days ago, and went to stable very recently)

MIUI 12.1.4 (Android 11) Major Bugs

Yesterday I received MIUI 12.1.4 Global Stable update Redmi K20. Which is full of bugs.
1. For example: Now I cannot use open with option for any file type. If I want to send an image via whatsapp, I cant do that. When I click the image and select "complete action using", I get error"No apps can open this content"
2. Similarly, if I want to send an app link via whatsapp, it gets stuck in a loop of "open with".
3. Dark theme for apps does not work. Even if I forcefully turn on the dark mode for an app which doesnot support dark mode, the app shows in Light theme. MIUI 11 was able to do this fine.
In summary, this is the most UNstable ROM I have seen. I dont know why are they calling it Stable ROM.

Hi, I am from India using Redmi K20 pro. I got this stupid update and now I am also facing this issue. Can't share anything over whatsapp because of this.
I own a Redmi K20 (davincii-Indian device), I got this update yesterday. Incoming and outgoing calls get disconnected automatically ever since.
I also flashed this update but I don't face any of the issues mentioned here. Rom is smooth.
Battery backup is a bit low but that maybe my 2yr old phone.
After receiving this 12.1.4 update on my K20 here in India call signal strength has gone down massively, so has the battery life & there's a lot of stutter while switching between apps, it feels like I've downgraded from a 60hz refresh rate to 30 hz
i was updated my mi 9t yesterday.
This is version for mi pilot members only and I'm one of them It's much better than previous 12.1.2 version.
Switching beetween apps is smooth as never before, whole rom is buttery smooth. I have only one issue with gallery app. When I switch between Albums and Pictures by swiping, app crashing.

Hello, I also have a Xiaomi Mi 9t global. I updated to 12.0.9 QFJMIXM a while ago because my device is QFJMIXM, but this morning MIUI 12.1.4 RFJMIXM appeared as available for update in my settings, so I updated. I was unaware of the Raphel and Davanci and was concerned after updating, but I contacted the Xiaomi support team in the USA and they assured me that everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about. I haven't discovered any problems in mine yet, like you stated, but if I do, I will publish them on XDA.

hey! I have the same issue, last night I updated my Redmi K20 to MIUI 12.1.4, and nothing works, the gestures are gone, the dark mode doesn't work and the battery performance has gone down significantly. I can't use any 3rd party launchers. Is there any way to fix this or roll back to a previous version? ( unlocking bootloader takes wayy too much time though )

Im not on 12.1.4 but accordingly to Xoaomi.eu (EMUI 12.6):
- gestures should work with stock launcher
- Settings, Display, More dark mode options, and disable Dark mode for few apps (e g. Facebook) where you have problems with
- Also, to avoid problems like: cannot open this or that, cannot share pictures, etc: Settings, Apps, Manage apps, navigate to WhatsApp, Browser, etc and for each of them enable Permissions, Access items in the clipboard

i am sorry to hear about your issues after the update; please contact the xiaomi support team online if your issues remain unresolved: https://www.mi.com/global/support/contact/. I also have a xiaomi mi 9T and since updating to 12.1.4 RFJMIXM, I've discovered three bugs. The first is that my wifi logo occasionally says it's turning on when it isn't; secondly, I normally record my calls; now, when I record them and try to play them back using the xiaomi recorder, it says the file cannot be found or is corrupt, which is false; when I use my file manager, I can play them back with third party players such as stellio music and The third issue I discovered is that when I use ultra battery saver, my phone sometimes freezes when i try to exit and I have to force restart my phone.
I also face several issues with A11 on my Note 8T.
1 I get lag in open apps.
2 Screenshot function by 3 finger slide not working even if is selected.
3 Cannot share picture from Gallery and File Manager to WhatsApp.
And who knows how many more bugs are there deep inside... I already see the battery life is shorter...
I wonder, what the Jesus those Xiaomi devs are doing when they work on this versions? There is no quality control on their side? There are lots of beta testers, mi pilots plus their team. How in the Jesus name they do not discover all those bugs before a version goes stable to the users??? GOD ALMIGHTY!

I don't care about the Files app (on any phone), I always use MiXplorer (available from GPlay or XDA)- absolutely the best File Mngr
To share a picture, URL, whatever (probably also causing problems for Open with functionaliries and similar), each and every app (you want to use with) must be granted Clipboard permussion (by default they are not granted)
Also, many problems will be caused by 3rd party launchers - stay with the stock launcher or search around for workarounds (I've recently seen a discussion that for Nova launcher users fixed issues by editing build props, etc)
I personally don't use this 12.1 and don't care about, but I use MIUI 12.1-12.6 A11 from Xiaomi eu (which is based on Xiaomi weekly development builds, from what Xiaomi later releases official updates)a already for 9 months on my daily drivera and I like it (otherwise, I would not stay all the time)!!!
But Ive seen (and experienced) all those and similar issues with MIUI 12+ and A11 and read/found workarounds for those I was interested in (e.g. I didn't care about issues 3rd pty launchers), etc.
I was all that time on Xiaomi eu forum, there are lot of users there (with all phones receiving Xiaomi.eu MIUI 12+/A11 updates), and for any issue there was a discussion there, with workarounds, etc
I just want to say, sorry I'm not going to teach anybody here how to fix this or that, just that I did have similar problems but found the solutions (once you set here or there something, you later forget what and how it was)
But unfortunately, maybe also Xiaomi.eu 12.6 (although formally Beta, based on the latest not-tested weekly fevelopment build) could be more mature than the official 12.1 in some aspects, hence I cannot guarantee you anything about that official 12.1
And one more thing. For some problems on Xiaomi.eu, 'solution' was to Format Data - however, that is required anywhy when you switch the ROM but I agree it is not the 'solution' for everage Joe user who just receives the stock OTA upgrade
Sorry for typos, writing outdoors, on sun, can hardly see what I'm typing in

Question Realme GT update Android 12 (UI3.0)

Have you noticed that the Realme GT became slower after the update to Android 12 (UI 3.0)? I also notice some microlags that I didn't have before.
Is all this normal? many users complain about these bugs!
Thanks to those who give me an answer.
Not really what specific problem you have?
I notice that some apps don't use by default 120hz, I don't know if they did before, I let my refresh at auto, but you can force to always 120.
the only downside for UI3 and Android 12 is that damn, game launcher that was integrated in the game and doesn't have it's own UI anymore.. i had to install an old launcher.
Did you update via OTA? or did you have to use a VPN?
