Hi all Apple iPhone owners, you are all invited to post in this thread all of your questions about your device(s). I hope you all embrace this action and post your problems here. Also Apple users are encouraged to answer questions of other Apple users. I'm not able to answer all the questions myself, hence this new thread, kindest regards kuzibri

Despite the fact that XDA "allowed" Apple products on their community, there is still no XDA Mobile app for iOS. Will they ever develop this app for iOS? kindest regards kuzibri

Hi it seems that the file system on iphone is locked down. Is there any FTP server app for iphone, which I can browse on my PC (and thus drag and drop files)? I can do it the other way around with ftp client on iphone. ES file explorer has FTP server on Android but their IOS version only has FTP client.

Hello, I have an iPhone Xs that has been factory reset but there is an activation lock. Is there anyway to bypass?

Hi, sorry for late reply, have been away for a while. If you still know who the former owner was, contact him/her and ask for the code, kind regards kuzibri

You can bypass iphone locked in old iOS version but now it’s so hard, send more details about model and iOS version

Can’t bypass activation lock on Xs
Can bypass in iphone 4 to X until iOS14.8, because you need jailbreak befire bypass and xs can’t jailbreak without activation, Chrackra1n can jailbreak non active devices but xs not supported on it

Thank you for sharing all your questions regarding Apple IPhones and useful answers. Some info helped me a lot with dealing with my own problems while using the Apple iPhones and other Apple products. Also, if some of you are looking for a solid source of information with detailed reviews about the latest updates and devices in the tech world, I would suggest you visit the site zumroad.com that I usually use if I need the tech-related information about a particular model.

Hi I have iPhone 5c and it goes on activation lock plz someone help me to open it

Hi, is this a second hand phone you bought? If yes, the former owner forgot to first deactivate the lock before bringing it back to factory settings. You have to contact the former owner to obtain the lock code, regards kuzibri

Very busy, loads of new people..

First of all: this site seems to continue to attract new cool people, and I'm greatly enjoying the easy way we all seem to work together.
The whole site got 20-30% busier relative to a week ago. We're averaging well over 1000 visits a day now. These are probably mostly new people lured by the prospect of the Special Edition ROM and its ability to unlock without the serial cable.
Communities like ours feed on fresh blood and new ideas. So let's all try to be extra nice and tolerant these next few days and weeks. Some growing pains are probably inevitable, but think how some of these new folks are likely to bring interesting knowledge and experience. (Even if most of the others just bring newbie questions you've all seen a million times.)

A big thanks for the hard work on the site guys, a great resource. Starting to feel a bit more comfortable with my XDA now
Yeah! you guys did a great job! and most of all I like the fact that you are not trying to commercialize this. Respect...
i just joined up because this community reminds me of another kick-ass community that I also joineded: The Tivo Community. This forum has the same passions, feel and excitement. I love that I have found a place to hang out that is ACTIVE and chock full of great information.

LOL as much as I doubt they would.... if these very kind people did try to "commercialize this" they'd find a lawsuit in the post by HTC, O2, T-mobile and just about every telecoms company that supports the HTC-wallaby device...
Even if O2 cant support its own userbase...
Personally I think its a shame that the O2 official support had to be done as an april fools joke. By far this would have been the best move that the non computer literate O2 could have done.
Unfortunatly maybe it would mean this site becoming too busy and overwhelming the developers?
Ian.
"Yeah! you guys did a great job!" ...seconded
Hi guys,
Just wanted to leave a quick thank you for the work you're doing. I've been able to do some great things with my device due to this site and the great community that's developed here.
I live in Australia and the XDA is pretty expensive over here so I bought a T-Mobile unit from the US. You guys made it possible for me to get the thing unlocked and online as soon as it was in my hot little hands
Many thanks.
Great work guys,
i cant comment on excellence!
Keep it up and whatever you need from us as support we will do it.
Regards
Update...
Remember I posted the webstats halfway through June? It got even busier since:
To put that in perspective: look at the monthly totals:
I'm glad our community still functions as well as it does, given this insane growth.
You're all fantastic...
Exponential growth continues...
As you can see above, the site used to do 1 GB a day on really busy days in June. We did 2 and 1.8 GB on 1st and 2nd of July respectively. About 2/3 of that seems to be forum traffic, and we get 1600+ visits a day now.

What a shame! I'm sorry, Miro,r eally bad news!!
I hope you will be able to recover your work.
Oh! So sorry to hear that Miro. I hope you'll be able to recover your stuff. Don't worry, you were and you'll remain our hero. No matter if you were not able to finish the last two ROM's.
We realised you had already said you were stopping work for the TG01 anyway.. and had done a little extra for people anyway
Real sorry to hear that your laptop got stolen! I hope you had insurance! Thank you for all your hard work, and bringing something different to the TG01 community.
Damn bad luck but nwm imagine they stolen your car
This is really Not to belive. ...O.K. I Had left the notebook in pocket on the back carseat. Never thought that such a thing can happen during the day :[
Never ever leave stuff on display in your car. They will take it and you will also have to replace a window.

there is still a chance,
if you had sim card that connects with 3g/4g provider, you can go to provider and tell about the situation, they should track it with autolog.
Just as phones an IMEI numbers
but if stealer wiped all the data from it, you can just wait for police.
There is a MAC address option for tracking, but it is expensive (i think about 1000 euro).
too bad, but you should never leave anything on sight in a car. My brother lost window because of empty backpack

I can't believe this is how the forums managers actually feel about our bootloader being unlocked. They are ignoring/deleting posts on Facebook if you ever mention "bootloader" and reply to posts that praise them...or if its about MOTOACTV.
My post was deleted, and others are trying to get it reposted every time its missing again.
My post:
Copy Pastable:
Code:
Motorola: Ignoring the bootloader problem isn't going to make it go away. I love my Droid RAZR but you are making it very hard for developers to make great software for your devices. It is NOT an industry standard to lock them down (HTC, Samsung, ASUS,etc.) and you should stop telling your consumers it is. I bought my Droid RAZR believing your statement that you would unlock the bootloaders by the end of 2011 if carriers allowed it. HTC unlocked all of theirs by the end of 2011, Verizon included. Not to mention you made the International version Motorola RAZR locked as well... All your customers want it some light on the situation, not our questions deleted.
It's not hard to tell that you are deleting posts and comments when someone mentions "bootloader", but they won't stop coming into you make a statement. And not just a statement like http://moto.ly/icsboot
Please listen and not just delete this post. Reply! Totally open to conversation and debate.
With them deleting post...we need to re-double our efforts.
That's definitely a fake account, they copy pasted the same thing a million times and can't even spell whining.

man YOU aren't getting any more soak test invites!
This phone is amazing without unlocked bootloaders, it's still rootable, and for those of us who are no longer flashaholics and kept their phone stock, it does EVERYTHING a rooted phone can do (with a little searching in the market). IMO, you're fighting a losing battle (for now, until we get ICS).

That's wierd, I don't know who would have motivation to be impersonating them. However, if an official Twitter account told you the Facebook account was fake, you should probably edit your first post to mention that very clearly. We want to be as understanding and professional with those at Moto who do speak and listen to us, just making sure we're not hurting those people's reputation, thanks!

[Q] How many of you DX2 users are jumping ship to the iPhone 5?

I am.
Don't get me wrong, I've had a good experience on Android and am going to miss a couple of things (customization, Transdroid, Swiftkey).
Anyone else jumping ship to the iPhone 5?
Try to not make this a hate thread. I am generally curious to see if anyone else is jumping ship or if you're staying with Android and a newer phone.
Its hard not to hate but to each their own. After discovering Android, there is no substitute or replacement.
I've seen similar threads started in other areas of XDA and the OP gets taken to the cleaners. You won't have to worry about that here. That is, as long as upteen different threads don't start up lol
The choice is obvious
I shiver at the thought. Out of curiosity, Why do you want to switch?

This thread makes my insides hurt from sadness.
Not to mention, every time an android user switches to an iPhone, God kills a kitten.
Please reconsider, for the kittens.
Sorry for the double post, but I had to add this in and couldn't do it from an edit despite my best efforts.

why do you wanna make the switch? honestly if the dx2 is your first android phone, try a cheaper replacement (ie fascinate, dx, og droid) those phones arent anywhere as difficult as the x2. plus the og droid & fascinate have unlocked bootloaders and both are running jellybean so why leave the openness and fully user customization of android to the locked down, 'we know whats best for you' apple attitude?
I'm making a switch when the iPhone 5 comes out. My buddy is foolish and is selling me his g nexus for 100 so he can get an iPhone 5.

I don't see why anyone would go apple. No customization ,no external memory ,basically bland apple and worst of all you only get what daddy apple says you can have.

Wish you luck. Everyone is different. It's Important everyone is comfortable with what they have.
Thread Closed, please go and use one of the other threads in OT to discuss all iphone 5 (Kitten Killer Phone) topics.

If I'm understanding, you stopped paying for the device. Is that correct? How can you expect to continue to use something you are not paying for?

XDA doesn't support stuff like this and don't even bother looking around this forum for it.
Has nothing to do with being rich, it's about right and wrong. Your asking for help to do something illegal..it's called Theft of Services.

@Arqixdev Thread has been closed! Although we're definitely unhappy about your personal situation, XDA is not the platform to support to circumvent dues when they are due. We've covered this in our XDA Forum Rules that you've certainly studied when you registered a few minutes ago as you agreed to adhere to them:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

Based on your desire you might also want to consider to read about the Forum Etiquette that helps to preserve respect among all members of the XDA community. Posting in capital letters usually equals (and in your case definitely does) to yell at the member who you've quoted. Please refrain from such behaviour in future! Thanks for your cooperation.
