Do u currently have a sim card in the phone? Try putting a sim card in the phone even if it's from another carrier and see if it lets you at least get past that screen. If you still get stuck on that screen after trying another sim card pm me your imei and I'll try and help you get it unlocked.

Hi, NinjaPerv!
I have the same situation as the user WOLFdeux.
My phone XT2117-1 (Moto G Power 4+64GB) is locked by Verizon provider.
There is no Verizon network in my country.
If I insert a Sim card from a local provider (Tele2-Russia), I see a message: "A locked device. Your device is blocked by your operator. Please insert a valid Sim card."
I will send the IMEI code to you by private message. Can you help me unlock my smartphone?
I tried the official unlock method. It does not apply to my device

Hello.
Since AT&T owns Cricket Wireless, it should not be a problem, to simply insert a sim. If anything, just take it in to an AT&T Store and they will be happy to assist. For free.

Hello i really hope you get this and were able to help the OP out because like him and a few others jumping on your comment to begging for help. I too have a Motorola stuck on that exact screen upon first boot up. I can pm my imei

I have the Moro G Pure and I’m experiencing the same issue. I reset the phone and it’s displaying a message that my phone is locked and to insert a valid SIM card. The problem is that someone pushed something too far into the eject hole for the SIM card bracket to come out and it’s broken and will not go back in. Id like to use the phone for Wi-Fi for my kids but I cannot get passed the phone locked screen. Can anyone help?

(2023) I have the same problem. My phone worked fine but I factory reset it and this screen showed up once the reset was finished. I inserted a SIM card and nothing happened, it was still stuck on the same screen. Does anyone know what to do to bypass this?

That message means that the phone is still network locked to its original carrier. So you need to insert a SIM card from the original carrier, in order to get past that screen and get thru the rest of the setup steps.
If you don't have one, you can usually purchase one from online sites like eBay or Amazon for $1 US or less.
Otherwise, the only other way to get thru the setup is to have the phone network unlocked. But if you can't get through the setup steps, then the original carrier can't do it for you, and you'll need to pay a 3rd party company to do it

STRAIGHT TALK SIM NOT BEING RECOGNIZED by GALAXY NOTE I717

I have a Straight Talk Sim.. with my Unlocked NOTE ..actually now I have 3 ST SIMS as the 1st 2 were thought maybe defective and ST sent me 2 replacements.
None of them get recognized as the message " No SIM Card" just pops up with all 3. Its not the APN settings, as I have tried all suggested and they are primarily for data and not the phone.
Any suggestions here? I have talked at length to both Samsung and ST and tehy each say its the other. Phone works fine with a TMOB SIM.
Thank you.

It seems to me its gotta be the sim cards...bcuz i use ST with my note with no problems...and now using it with my s3 without any issues at all...from wat u posted its the sim cards...especially if phone recognize the Tmobile sim card...
Just stick the sim cards in another phone, then you'll know for sure its the ST sims.
That is interesting because there a quite a few Note's on ST SIM cards..
Rarely if ever does a SIM card go bad unless it was chewed by a dog or hit by a lightening bolt.
There is something very simple yet wrong. Wrong SIM card? It is in backwards or upside down something like that.
Why is your phone 'unlocked'? The StraightTalk SIM card should already be for the AT&T phone so no need for unlocking.
You don't need to unlock but if your ESN was carrier locked that would explain it. Phone under contract but customer stops paying on 2 year contract and it gets the boot. Just one of many examples of how to get a carrier lock.
My AT&T carrier unlocked/rooted Note ran on Tmobile and is now on ST.
These are the only settings that work right for me. Although the phone should boot with the ST SIM even if these are wrong.

Yes I messed with the APN settings .. and yet those are for data . The phone as you have mentioned should boot automatically and yes many Galaxy NOtes are using Straight Talk. Now I have 3 different SIMS not working !? And yes they are in correctly etc.. if they weren't the Tmob SIM wouldnt work either.
I bought the phone New and it came unlocked as I prefer it that way rather than deal with ATT. I also travel abroad.
It's been a head scratcher.... Though I know the answer has to be out there.. I cant believe I have 3 bad SIMS in a row.
I am open to suggestions. Thank you.
ok good to know, please let me know how it goes for you, as I am also in the same boat and trying to use SL for my lovely note
did you flash custom roms?
you might want to take a look at your device informations, especially the IMEI, if its not your correct IMEI it means you've wrecked your /efs partition, search for EFS recovery to fix your imei and your sim card not recognized issue
Originally I did not..I inserted into the stock ROM. That didnt work , So then I flashed custom ROMS.. 3 different ones.. and they didnt work.
I dont understand what you mean by not the right IMEI ? Its a number.. the SIM doesnt screen IMEI's ? I bought it brand new about 6 weeks ago from Negri Electronics which specializes in unlocked phones.
They have a very good resellerating but one customer Lawrence reports something that would explain your case:
"Some of their unlocked phones (unlocked-originally branded) have the problem that they come with generic IMEI 004999010640000, this imei is generic and it is not unique. Phone won't get service in some countries(i.e UK) and it is a matter of time before this imei gets banned in US. Negri recognizes the problem but won't repair or exchange the phone, read their store policies before buying......................".
Well... then why would it work with T Mobile? I mean after all, its an ATT phone and designed to run on their networks? So it works with ATT and T MOB but not Straight Talk?
As well Thats not my IMEI, not to say perhaps its another generic one, I have no idea. You make some interesting points that I haven't heard before.

once again look at your device information - imei, and look at your imei on the box package or from under your device's battery, if they don't match then your EFS is ruined
flashing roms could cause these, but its pretty rare

in this case, i think you have 2 problems..
1. your device is sim carrier locked (which you could unlock manually)
2. your /EFS partition which hold your original IMEI is corrupted (you could restore/fix this too)
if you happen to have some files mentioning EFS on the root of /sdcard then you should backup those files.. you might need those to restore/fix your EFS partition

Thank you for your insights Twiq.
OK... The IMEI #s match. SO that's not the issue ( I think).
It's unlocked, so even though its an ATT phone, it works with Tmob SIM.
As for the EFS corruption possibility, well, it didnt work with all original Stock ROMS on Android 2.36. I rooted it thinking maybe ATT had something in there..but it still didnt work after 3 different ICS ROMs. I restored the original ROM yet still zero.
It works for Tmob. If the EFS was corrupted, then even a Tmob SIM wouldnt work.. right?

nope, then my earlier posts are irrelevant..
i think what you need here is flashing a different modem version which works with your current carrier/location.
what is your Baseband Version? it's on the about screen
you could try several modems listed Here, but flash only modems compatible with your current rom (GB/ICS)
there should be modems for international versions of Note, but i couldn't find one without downloading full rom.

Just cutting in here. . .
With a galaxy tab if you wanted to put in a sim from a phone T-mobile would block you and you would get a generic web page saying go buy a data plan for your tablet. The solution was to delete the efs folder and let the android system rebuild it. That rebuilt efs was the generic 0049etc. So a bad efs won't stop you on T-mobile's network.
As for esn, US GSM carriers don't block that. I asked a service rep why not, especially in the cas of stolen phones? He said those stolen phones are new customers.
Sorry there's no help in those paragraphs, but they eliminate some things. . .
I still haven't seen that you tested the ST sims in another phone. Its unlikely but a good possibility.

Baseband is i717UCLE2
I have flashed several of the ICS radios for T mobile... but that would effect the reception etc.. This didoes even recognize the SIM. From the moment the phone powers on it says "no SIM".
I talked to Negri, and they just unlock the phone just as you or I would with a code they buy in bulk.
So its no generic IMEI or any grey market stuff.
The radios it has are for ATT and this should work for an ATT StraightTalk SIM.. but it doesn't !?
Find someone with an AT&T unlocked phone. Your SIM should start up in their phone and their SIM should start your phone. If not then take it from there. I've had at least three radios that didn't work right with ST but all booted up fine.

Right.. this is beyond a radio issue . They dont boot. When I boot with a non activated TMOB SIM, it doesn't say " NO SIM". It boots, if I try to make a call, it will say "network unavailable".
With the ST SIMS, it immediately says "NO SIM" before it even accesses the network. Samsung said that since it reads the TMOB sim, it cant be the sim card reader.
I am grateful for all who have volunteered their expertise here, yet still have yet to find a solution though I know there is one out there. Thank you.
Dude. . . The ST sims are dead.

SPRINT, Galaxy Nexus Sim card error "NO SIM CARD"

OK so this is a good one, and i feel this needs some attention.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Nexus provided by Sprint ( NO PHYSICAL SIM CARD IN THIS MODEL) sprint doesnt use SIM cards in most there phones currently.
Problem: Phone displayed message "SIM card is PUK locked, Please enter 8 digit PUK Code to unlock. contact sprint for details". i browsed sprints forums and found a few posts of codes to attempt. Only so many codes may be entered before the Sim Shuts its self down for good. now the phone was displaying across the bottom at lock screen "No SIM card:sprint" (yes i confirmed and double checked there is no removable SIM card In the phone or under the battery). so now the phone service is limited. no mobile data is usable and phone calls often were dropped with "NO SIM CARD" error.
Rooted Status: phone was Rooted and custom rom JBsourcery was currently in use. prior to seaking sprint store for help. i went ahead and did a full restore using Nexus toolkit application to Flashback stock OS and lock boot Loader so warranty would still be eligible.(note this flash back did not recover sim error)
What i tried to fix the error: Flashed other custom roms, as well as a stock rom later on, Factory reset both done by Team Win Recovery Project, and factory reset done with stock Recovery after i restored phone to stock, Wiped Cache and Dalvik. No use off to the sprint store
Sprint Store Diagnosis: showing them the "No SIM Card error" gave them a good laugh. the store tried there version of full reset. No fix here. associate called Sprint Tech support. they were stumped as well and simply replaced. I got new galaxy nexus
How did this happen/ What caused it Yes! i have the answer for this believe it or not. i just couldnt find a fix. once the galaxy nexus is Rooted and so far custom roms i can confirm have this Feature. ROMs included are: JBsourcery for nexus 4.4 and 4.5, And the 4.2.1 stock rom available on Galaxynexusroot.com. i assume this feature is thrown in because the roms are universal for Sprint, verizon, and GSM phones. therefor if you have a Sim card you can edit your sim card lock.
In my case, for my sprint Nexus under Settings> Security= this list has an added toggle "set up Sim card lock" of course my curios mind checked into this. little did i know that as soon as you trigger that bad boy. something in the phone changes Permanently .
as i stated i did get a new phone in exchange for this error, and of course i rooted again and flashed the 4.2.1 rom and this setting is back again. as so long i dont touch it. there will be no issue. however, i think this should be looked into and possibly removed from certain roms specific to "SPRINT" lol as we dont need it. also maybe look into a way to recover from this scary phone breaker. i dont beleive i am the only one who did this. there will be more so long as there are curious minds out there who Root and custom rom flash. thanks guys

[Q] No Sim Card Detected, Not Registered to Network

Ok first of all, I know that there are many other similar thread, I've read a couple of them, and in frustration I decided to make another one. I believe that I have a slightly different problem here..
I flashed Ultima V11.01 just yesterday, everything was going well until this evening an error popped up, saying something like "The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card inserted.". This has happened a few times back then, so it wasn't exactly a suprise, but after a couple of restarts it kept happening until finally the SIM card is not detected at all (usually it's detected at first, stopped working a few minutes later).
I tried to put the sim card (DIY micro-sim) to other phone and it worked just fine. At this point I thought it was my sim card slot causing the troubles, but then I tried other sim card in my S3, and it worked fine, no errors.
So it's basically: Phone A + SIM A = Error
whereas Phone A + SIM B & Phone B + SIM A works fine.
And by the way, when it says "No sim card", the signal bar indicates that it's connected (it's the mobile network signal). I tried to make phone calls, got an error "Not registered to a network". Going to Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile networks, another error "Insert SIM card to access network services.

Any idea?
Thanks in advance for all helps
Maybe try with an different rom..
Good luck
Super wipe then go back to stock, if still the same then sim reader is faulty.
Can you get a logcat for the radio buffer? This could shed some light on why it's misbehaving.
Using adb:
Code:
adb logcat -b radio *:V
If you can post anything you think is strange from that buffer.

you say that when you try another simcard in your phone its ok, so that would rule out anything wrong with your phone itself, even if your sim works in another phone it could be just not made correct for the s3's sims holder.

I got a new sim card today, it solved the problem. But it's still strange tho, the faulty sim card worked fine on other micro-sim devices (tried on iPad), it even worked on blackberry (which use normal-sized simcard)!
And by the way, the sim-card stopped working when I was still using the phone, not after I reboot or removing the card.

Probably some obscure hardware voltage tolerance or something came in to play here.
Guess we'll never know.

good to hear your problems resolved. ive made my own micro sims in the past and the sames happened, it can be a little slip of the sim that takes one of the metal contacts out of allignment,

I've tried restoring to before I flashed Ultima, still no sim card detected.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance for all helps

i had same problem, i woke up every morning with this error, all what i did is replacing a new sim card and voila! no more problems
good to hear you managed to fix it without being some major problem.
I had the same issue on a replacement S4, after my first one screen died. Anyway I took it to my local Sprint corporate store, they installed a brand new simcard in and it is now running like a champ.
No network connection.
I just replaced the sim card tray on my Galaxy S GTi9000 phone after buying a new one from ebay. I inserted the replacement after dismantling the phone which required no soldering of this component. .My previous sim card tray had a broken pin
caused by me when it got stuck and I was getting a error message that I was not registered on network. I also was instructed to insert my sim card when one pin was broken on the sim card reader.Prior to installing my Amaysim when it got stuck it was working fine.
Now on I am back to where I started trying all hardware and software solutions trying to get a network solution.
Most people would give up and I think the solution must be SIMPLE!
I have noted that on the back of the circuit board(gold panel) is scratched which could possibly indicate that the circuits could be destroyed and perhaps the fix would to replace the sim card, This SIM card works in my old Nokia but not in the Galaxy S
To the brainstrust -any solutions would be appreciated

Sprint HTC One Max SIM Unlock WORKING!!!

Hello Guys, This is my first time Posting a Thread but this one is quite interesting.
Everyone knows that the HTC one Max from Sprint is Sadly Well Sim Locked, and the Verizon HTC one max is Unlocked straight from the factory due to FCC regulations. On Sprint devives, even when you put in the SIM Card, it won't ask for the Unlock Code. It says Invalid SIM and wont let you use it at all. But I have found the way to Sim Unlock the HTC One Max for Sprint. It's really almost the same way as on the HTC One but with a few more steps.
Step one is that you have to be Rooted. Now, I am not sure if you have to be S-OFF or S-ON but I am S-OFF so you might have to be S-OFF as well, but you guys can confirm that for me.
Next is you need the Following apps: Root Explorer, Sprint HTCOne SIMUnlock Helper. You Must install them before continuing. You can get these Apps from the Play Store.
After that, you need to download the HTCOMADM_SPCS.apk File (I have attached the modded file in this Post). This file is the file that needs to be replaced from the one in your /system/app Directory. You need to Remove the HTCOMADM_SPCS.apk file first (Or Rename it) before you place the modded one in there. Once done, MAKE SURE that your permissions are set to rw-r-r and reboot. If you don't set the permissions right, it WILL not work.
After you replace the File, You are going to use the SIM Unlock Helper app next. After you select the app, it might say "Device Check Fail" in Big Red Letters. It might also say, "This Device is not a Sprint HTC One! Therefor, this Program will not run". This is ok. What you want to do is click the 3 Menu Dots on the Upper Right hand side and Select "Display SIM Unlock Log". It might ask you for Permissions. Make sure to Grant them. After that it will say "SIM Unlock Log". There shouldn't be anything there. Now hit the back button and now it should say Device Verified, Root Available etc. etc.
Next is you want to tap Start. If everything goes well, within seconds you should be in the OMADM Test Client. Scroll all the way down to the end and tap the selection SIMLOCK. The phone will freeze a couple of seconds and then return to normal. Once done tap the back button and the SIM Unlock Helper should show SIM Unlock Results. If it says Successful, reboot the phone (Although tapping Reboot might not work from the app itself)
Once Rebooted, Insert your SIM Card of your GSM Carrier and go to your Settings> Mobile Data> Network Mode. Once you tap that, Tap GSM/UTMS Only. If successful your phone will switch from Sprint to the GSM carrier. All there is next is to setup your APN settings to be able to receive the carriers data services.
PLEASE NOTE!!! That you won't receive HSPA+ (4G LTE) Data, but you will only receive the 14.4Mbps HSPA Speeds. Talk, Text, and Data should work with no issues.
Please Confirm that it works. I will be posting some pics up later of the process.
Credit also goes to chas123, he's the one who hacked HtcOMADM_SPCS (which is also used in Sprint HTC One SIM Unlock Helper) making it possible to unlock!
Also, for those who are having a vdm error. Replacing the original apk after unlocking fixes it. For those that flashed the ruu maybe replacing that apk will help also.
Has anyone else with a Sprint version accomplished this successfully?
Confirm worked

What kind of speeds are you getting on T-Mobile?
3G or 4G?
did you lose any functionality, like wifi N/AC, or anything else involving the radio?
thanks!
I have been getting upto 14.4 Mbps Download and around 3-4 Mbps Upload on T-Mobile which is Standard HSDPA/HSUPA speeds. I have to Test AT&T next

Nope. I can Still Connect to the Dual Band 5Ghz A, C, and N Channels just fine. Only issue there might be is the Force Closed issue on a App. But nothing major.

didn't work for me. I''m S-OFF, set all permissions correctly. after pressing START button or even thru Terminal Emulator I get the same message that "OMADM application been unexpectedly stopped" Any thought?
What Rom are you using? I am using SkyDragon Max v 2.0

Didn't work for me either on stock rom, but worked after I flashed SkyDragon..
The Rom I used to perform the SIM Unlock was SkyDragon Max v. 2.0 Sprint. So you might have to be on this Rom to work.
ALSO, you MUST be on a Deodexed Rom for it to work. The Odexed roms wont work since the file you are editing is only in Deodexed form and doesn't contain the .Odex file.
Probably had to be on a Deodexed rom.
Just caught in another forum that network unlocking your sprint Max (taken from directions for sprint One) causes that vdm error. Replacing the original apk after unlocking fixes it. For those that flashed the ruu maybe replacing that apk will help also.
*you probably want to note this in the OP

The same happened to me, try the process a couple of times and even reflash ROMS, every time the SIM unlock helper show success but it didn't worked. I read multiple times the forums and when I was about to quit, decide to try another time but instead of uploading the HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk file from my MAC, decided to do a direct download from the phone and finally I it works!!!!!
Now I want to go back to my nexus 5, I am not sure I am going to keep this phone (for now I already remove the notebook case, its really complicated to use with it..)
I thought AT&T had been migrating their UMTS services to 850 Mhz? You might find yourself not getting 3G with AT&T just as you would with T-Mobile, since only 1900 Mhz is usable on this Sprint version.
If you want to use this in Mexico, Telcel only uses 850 for 3G, so you will only get EDGE. Movistar and Iusacell use 850 and 1900, and depending on the region, there will be no 3G services (if the region uses 850 vs 1900)
I know I can get 14.4Mbps on T-Mobiles Internet which isn't terrible but isn't bad either. Hopefully the next Gen HTC one max will be better.
wont detect sim

Im having a similar problem, I was able to bootloader unlock, root, s-off, custom recovery and custom rom (skydragon) but I still cant get the sim unlock to work. I replaced the HtcOMADM_SPCS and set the permissions correctly, got simunlock helper to work, ran sim lock; but still doesnt detect my sim card. I get no bars and phone settings shows "no sim card found" under Available GSM networks.
Here are my settings as seen in bootloader exactly

After I do the unlock. Can i flash any rom I want afterwards?

4G / LTE connectivity on SIM1

Hello,
Are there any users with Redmi note 3 Pro / Snapdragon version that have issues like no 4G or LTE connectivity while using sim1?
this has worked for me when I first bought the phone.
I unlocked the bootloader - unofficial version, installed twrp, tried to flash a rom, bricked my deice, than I managed to flash 7.2.3 global stable official rom - my bootloader was relocked, but sim1 could no more connect on 4g network.
while searching for it manually I can see it, but when i click it to connect, it just registers on 3g network.
since than I have tried to reset the device, full erase, no luck.
I installed global developer rom - with locked bootloader - no luck
I received a code to unlock bootloader, i Unlocked it, but still no 4g connection on sim1.
Any idea what could be wrong?
P.S.
If I put the same SIM in slot 2, 4g connects with no issues, but I want to use that slot for the Microsd card.
And I kind of found the culprit.
The phone that is sold in many countries comes with customized miui 7.1.9.0.0 (note the extra 0) and on this rom version 4g works on sim 1, on global versions it does not.
And now I am searching for a customized rom that can't be found anywhere.
Well I had the same version 7.1.9.0.0 (the unofficial multilanguage) when I got the phone, but I have not activated the 4G on my providers. In the mean time this rom had many issues (didn't recognise the second sim etc) so I flashed with EDL and MiFlash the original Global rom (7.1.7.0) and was ΟΤΑ updated to 7.1.8.0 . Since then I have no 4g on SIM1 but it works fine in slot2
I then got permission to unlock bootloader and unlocked it by flashing the official Chinese Dev 6.3.31.
Someone on the official site reported that the baseband of the AOSP and/or 7.1.7.0 solves the problem if you flash it manually via fastboot... I tried all the following basebands but no luck either.
- AOSP rom baseband (A.2.0.c1.1-00005-8976_GEN-PACK-1)
- Stable 7.1.7.0 rom baseband (A.2.0.c1.1-00019-8976_GEN-PACK-1)
- Stable 7.2.2.0 / 7.2.3.0 rom baseband (1-00019-8976_GEN_PAC K-1.49420.2 .)
Now I have the Greek Stable 7.2.2.0 (based in the Chinese Stable and made by the official fan site in Greece Xiaomi-Hellas) and yet no 4G.
It has been reported as a bug on the official site and as they say the developers are looking to solve it within the next updates..
Hi Project_P we meet again! heh
OP: if you don't need dual sim, try adding a dummy sim on slot 1 and turn it off and keep your normal sim in slot 2. That fixed the issue for me (obviously not ideal if you need dual sim OR if you need to expand storage).

That is the trick, I want to be able to use the microsd slot also. I am thinking of stripping a sim card and glue it to a microsd card as per the many tutorials out there.
Have you tried changing the cellular network type to "LTE" or similar?
I managed to regain 4g by doing this

I have tried to select it manually, but as soon as i click it, it just connects to 3g network.
There are many people who have this issue on en.miui.com/ thread-265011-1-1.html (correct the link) including me.
I came from a modified ROM 7.1.99.99 by the seller and I flash Miui (7.1.8.0) without unlocking the boatloader. Result: No LTE.
I flash the 6.3.31 the same way. No LTE too.
I set preferred network type to LTE only and no signal.
I've 4g on SIM2 when I've two SIM cards and sometimes on SIM 1. It's not stable
Hello,
I am French and I also got my phone with the Rom 7.1.9.0.(0) and I also lost 4G on slot 1. Sometimes I can have it on slot 2 by putting a second SIM card slot 2, but it is very unstable and sometimes I lose it also on slot 2. I installed all the Rom that exists but the Chinese / English, but nothing has changed . Even forcing the preferred 4G, I stay in H / H +. It's hopeless, now I think selling it but I will lose money because the 4G does not work.
Up ! We need some help here

Same problems here. Have to try changing to SIM2 slot and will report back. Weird bug.
edit: Better late than never. SIM2 only supports Nano from what I can tell. Couldn't switch since I'm on Micro. Will have to try with another SIM.
Same issue here. I lost 4g in sim slot 1 somewhere along the way through changing MIUI roms (Official/Dev/China etc) trying to unlock officially.
Until today with SIM1 slot Active, and SD Card inserted - No 4g anywhere.
Today I tried the hardware mod (sticking SIM to SD Card) - I now have 4G!

This is a method to get 4g working on SIM1 for a while. I got this info from XIaomi forums:
1. Turn off your phone
2. Put two simcard (micro & nano) that support 4G
3. Set data/internet to simcard 2
4. Eject your simcard tray without power off
5. Remove simcard 1 and put only simcard 2
6. Set LTE only on simcard 1 (using *#*#4636#*#* method)(dial that number, click phone information 1 and "Set preferred network type:" to LTE only)
7. Eject your simcard tray, and put simcard 1 again
8. Wait a few minute, if simcard 2 change to H+/3G
9. Switch data/internet to simcard 1
10. And ...... 4G/LTE work again using simcard 1.
11. After this you can eject the tray again without turning the phone off and swap SIM2 with microsd card.
I have the exact same situation as OP, even living in the same country. The thing is other users on the phone's softpedia section don't have this issue after flashing the 7.2.5.
I was hoping the 7.3.2. OTA would resolve this but there's no change.
My bug report was closed saying an update will come: http://en.miui.com/thread-280981-1-1.html.
Edit: I don't have a 2nd SIM to try that, nano-SIM too.

Whenever you can do the truck, do it. I also got the update to 7.3.2.0, but it is now back on 3g. I will do the mod again now.
A few have reported that a factory reset solved some issues.

I have the same issue with my handset too. even after update to 7.3.
Today I tested with only nano sim in slot 2 & it started finding 4G signals.
But slot 1 still work only for 2G & 3G
Hello,
I will repeat myself once, but I can confirm that if you received your phone with the Rom 7.1.9.0.0 dealer, it is because of her that we lost 4G on slot 1.
I really tried everything, even change the line build.prop but nothing has changed, still no 4G on slot 1.
Maybe if Xiaomi is an update of the Baseband, we can recover but this is not certain.

I know that, but still, it should work normal with international rom, because it uses the same modem as all redmi note 3 snapdragons out there.
Basically, Redmi Note 3 comes in 3 versions, two Chinese ones (One with MTK and one with SD650) and Global one(SD650). The Global version is the one that is sold in India, Taiwan, Singapore and part of Europe. The Chinese SD650 version, mostly sold in China, says it supports more bands than the Global one.
Chinese SD650 version LTE bands:
B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8
B38/B39/B40/B41(2555-2655MHz)
Global Sd650 version LTE bands:
B1/B3/B5/B7/B8
B38/B39/B40/B41(2555-2655MHz)
I bought the Chinese one as I need to have Band 4 to work with my USA carrier. It worked when i was in China, but same unfortunate thing happens the me when I came back to the States and wiped my phone to dev. I can't access 4g band 4 on Sim 1, 3g connection is bad on Sim1 too. Sim 2 works fine for two days and then the 4g downgrades to 3g and then 3g connection is on and off.
