Question MIUI on OnePlus Nord 2 - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Since POCO F3 GT also has MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Processor, is it possible to port MIUI from POCO F3 GT to OnePlus Nord 2?

I'd prefer the stock Android 11 interface. Remember when Oxygen OS was as stock as possible? Yeah those were the days. MIUI is probably much better than what we have now.

It will be cool if we could decide what UI goes in our Phone

Which is the Xiaomi "Budget" Phone to get atm?

Hey everyone,
I just broke my S8 and need a "cheap" phone for a year until my contract is due.
I'm looking at xiaomi but am a bit lost on all the options. Lets start by what i'd like to get
- Sub 250$
- Either Stock Android or a decent Stock Rom
Thats about it. Other than that, the cheaper the better, though I'll pay for a decent display and RAM. Storage is secondary as is Batterylife.
So, Redmi Note 5, The Normal Redmi 6, Mi A2 or wait for the A2 Lite (when does that release anyways?) Or would you recommend looking at another Brand entirely?
Any input to help me decide is highly appreciated!
Redmi 6 has a mediatek processor, it´s 5,45" and a battery of 3.000mAH.
Mi A2 comes with a better processor SD 660, same size than Redmi Note 5 but a battery of 3.010mAH.
This device comes with a battery of 4.000mAH.
Redmi Note 5 with processor SD 636 (whyred) it´s the best option (for a minimal difference compared with this)
This forum it´s about Redmi 5 Plus (vince) that it could be confused with the other version but this device comes with SD 625 and other few differences. Both have a good hardware combined with a good software so you will have a good experience with any of both for less money.
Vince (Redmi 5 Plus/Note 5), and Whyred (Redmi Note 5 Pro) are decent, and have decent cameras.
Mido (Redmi Note 4X) is also decent, and is more mature in terms of stable custom ROM support - however, whether you get a good or dodgy camera sensor is pot luck. If you are into MIUI, then they are all equally well supported. I have both mido and vince. I prefer vince for the camera, and mido for everything else (especially custom ROM support).
If I were to choose again, it would have to be by the toss of a coin. So, I personally would get whichever of them I can find at the cheapest price (for the same specs). However, I would avoid the 3GB/16GB mido, even if storage is not a priority. I would also avoid any Xiaomi that has a Mediatek SoC (like the plague!).
The A2 or Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The A2 has Android One, Oreo and a better Snapdragon Chipset (660)/Adreno 512 but no MicroSD, no headphone jack and a 3000mAh (QC4) battery. It also has Type C and will get Android Pie.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a 4000mAh (QC2) battery, jack, MicroSD and no type C. You'll get the slower Snapdragon 636/Adreno 509 instead though and it comes with Nougat instead of Oreo.

You might want to research screen quality on both handsets. I read above that the Mi A2 has a dim display but this could be the above reviewer comparing it to higher-end displays.

K20 or poco f1 which should i go for?

well i am planning to buy a new phone and bit confused between k20 and poco f1. Though k20 has new features better screen and cameras and all but the development seems to be very less whereas poco has an amazing development and i love flashing and testing roms and stuff.
So should i go with k20 or pick the poco f1. My budget is fixed to 20k.
Will the k20 get better development like roms and stuff or should i go for poco f1..
At the moment, neither.
K30 is soon to be released.
Which means prices will drop.
I have the poco, my wife has m9t (k20). In every aspect except the processor, my wife's is better. The thing that stands out the most, is the screen. I hate poco's notch.
So if you are a heavy 3d gamer/compulsive flasher (i am) go for the poco.
In any other case go for k20
If you cannot wait then definitely Poco is the best but if you can wait then wait for new 5G phones hitting the market and invest a good amount on oneplus or xiaomi to get the best of available devices.
and what about the k20's development.
Being an Mi phone i expected it to have a good development from start but don't see that.
It feels like my realme 3 pro has more roms than k20 to try out.
why is that so?
And also one more thing i saw as on specs that 730 has newer kryo 470 whereas 845 has kryo 385.
So that does mean that 730 should get better results on cpu front if not better than atleast around 845.
As far as the gpu go i know Adreno 630 will perform bwtter than 618 for sure.
Also one of my friend has poco f1 and he says the display quality is really bad in poco and he has got yello spot issue in just 8 months of usage and also he feels that the phone gets hot really hot when playing pubg and doesn't really look like it has liquid cooling or something.
wait till the k20 pro price drops a bit or better save and wait for k30.

If you had asked me this one year ago i would have recommended POCO F1 without any thought. But it has now become quite old considering every month a new phone is launched. The major advantage over M2 pro is its SoC. Performance is greater than my needs ,SDM845 still holds up and there is a lot of development support for POCO F1. As for the camera, having a 48mp sensor is no good when the software is so ****ty. It can't take the full advantage. I can capture better pictures with a GCam on F1's 12mp camera. POCO F1 has enough battery that will get you through the day. But don't expect it to last upto 2 day. M2 pro has bigger battery, better fast charging, fine chipset and will be getting major android updates in the future. So it really comes down to what you want to do with your phone. If you want fast phone with ok camera and ok battery go for POCO F1. As for the software it still has a lot of development potential.
Cons for POCO F1
Getting old.
Notch sometimes bothers me.
There are chances of getting screen issues 'cause lot of users have complained about it.
poco F1.
Notch isnt really a problem for me.
m2 pro is just a rebranded redmi note 9 pro in my place.
cons, back design is bland af

Bland af ?
Depends on what you are looking for and your budget. If you can spend a bit more go for the F2 Pro.
If you are only looking at the M2 and F1 then go for the M2, sure the chip isn't as powerful as the F1, but the 720G is sufficient and it can play games (though not on the highest settings), but for sure it will still be supported updates wise since Poco basically declared that the MIUI12 update will be the last and we'd have to rely on enthusiastic devs for 3rd party ROMS. If you don't mind flashing and if you don't use the cameras that much anyway then the F1 may be for you. But like I said if you have a bigger budget go for the F2 Pro, Nord, or even a OnePlus 7 (if you can get it for a good price) family, or even the mi 10 lite

Bad news, possible no more Xiaomi.EU when Poco releases Poco UI...

Poco UI will be like a MIUI based OS for Poco devices like what Joy UI is for Black Shark devices.
Poco will be releasing the Poco UI for Poco devices at the end of 2021:
Source: https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/13/poco-ui-confirmed-to-arrive-in-late-2021/
I've asked on Xiaomi.EU forum on the possibility of support for Poco UI and it seems like they will likely not support Poco UI in the future.
Poco devices that do not have Chinese equivalent devices, affected by this change to Poco UI and will NOT receive Xiaomi.EU roms in 2022 and beyond: Poco X3, Poco X3 Pro and Poco M3.
Devices affected by this change, but will still receive Xiaomi.EU rom support in the future since these devices are based on Chinese Redmi devices: Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K20 Pro in China) and Poco F3 (Redmi K40 in China).
The Poco F1 will not be affected by this change since the device is EOL for firmware updates.
Can't say for sure if that's a blessing or a curse. Since A11 update and this phone is getting a downgrade, maybe with Poco UI they will focus on fixing the system issues and actually give this phone a proper software, cause so far till now no custom roms, eu ports or even stock miui got anything good to offer as a daily driver
They all got 2 options: long living turtle, or the burning hot easily tired Rabbit

Question Custom rom availability

i'm interesting about Nord 2 but my problem is the new colorOS..
I don't want that sh!t. I love oxygenOS.
Will we get "plently" custom roms for that device?
Is there any alternative? I dont want to stay on latest oxygenOS for ever.
My current phone is 3T with lineageOS and updates weekly.
Is there any alternative smartphone?
I'm looking for xiaomi 11T (same price range) but i don't like MIUI too.
Pixel 6 is more expensive so that's not an option.
Even though 11t is better in terms of updates (xiaomi promised 3 years of android updates +1 extra year of security patches), both devices wont get too much custom roms because of their chipsets. Not many developers develop roms for mediatek chipsets. If you want to have lots of custom roms to choose from, better device for you is poco f3. Another great alternative to these three are realme gt or gt neo 2 if they are available in your region.
