Question Yellowish colors in white tones / white images - Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G

I have about 2 months with a MI 11 Lite 5G, I do not use it yet as a main phone since I have a MI 9 Lite that works excellent, however when comparing the screens side by side, I notice that the screen of the MI 11 Lite 5g in the Backgrounds or contents with whites look yellowish, look in settings, change the color temperature to cool on all of them and it still shows yellowish white colors. Yesterday I received a MI 11 Lite 5g NE and when comparing them side by side the screen of the Mi 11 Lite 5g NE correctly shows the whites, no yellowish, do any of you have the same problem on your Mi 11 Lite 5G?

See if the reading mode is turned on which gives this yellowish screen to reduce eye strain or you should reset the settings to see if the yellowish color goes off.

In fact the phone I have factory reset twice and indeed I checked that the reading mode was not activated since when you activate it you can see the yellow tint even more clearly to avoid visual fatigue, however in this case it was not activated...I am thinking of sending it under warranty since a yellowish white is not normal for me, what do you think?

As I searched for the difference in the display they both are similar but in 11 Lite 5G they mentioned gorilla glass 6, this may be the reason, or check with the service center and send it under warranty as you said.

@seangtz I am also facing the same issue with Mi 11lite NE 5G. Display shows more yellowish colors (shows yellow skin colors on photos or videos). Also green and red colors are not vibrant. Started behaving so nearly after 1 and half months of usage. So what did you do to resolve this?

Colours are dull

Anyone know how to increase the saturation of the display? The display looks quite dull compared to oneplus 6, galaxy s9 and iPhone x. Had them all side by side. I'm always finding I have to increase the saturation of photos too after taking them to match the colours in scene cause they are clearly muted. If you transfer the unedited photos taken on the mate 20 pro to another phone or computer, they look fine. So glad it's not the camera, just seems to be the display having poor vibrancy. And yes my display is set on vivid in settings.
Would like to know if others have noticed this as I checked out another mate 20 pro on display in a shop and seemed to have the same problem
Try settings - display - colour and eye comfort
I don't find them dull myself but a change in settings could help.
Yeah is on vivid in settings ?
Even my pixel 2 XL looks much more vibrant! It's lovely to pick up and use after the M20Pro. I have BOE screen

Interesting, seems to be some major inconsistencies then with this phone. Samsung phones I find over saturated so I can only imagine. I have a green LG screen atm and didn't want to switch to a boe cause I heard the LG display was more vivid than the BOE and I'm finding the saturation on my LG display already so poor so couldnt imagine what it would be like on a BOE screen.
The screen is fine. Seems people are just opening threads now to make baseless accusations against the phone because it's so much better than the competition.
I have Pixel 3 and Mate 20 pro, and just sold my Note 9 and while the whites aren't as blinding as the Note 9 , the saturation is just fine. The Pixel 3 on adaptive is too saturated and the photos from the camera are just fine.
Bringing up the saturation in the camera photos to match the scene? please.
I would advise the op to sell it and get a Pixel.

Fan boy much?

BOE screen issues.

Got this phone few days ago. I'm satisfied with everything but not the screen.
When surfing webs, I found that my phone had some noticable vertical noise lines in grey background (between two white spaces there is a gray line).
Is it a issue or normal for BOE (which is known for low quality screens)? Will I have same problems if i change another one?
Check this similar thread:

My boe works perfect since october, im very happy with display

I had two M20P phones--one with an LG display and the other with a BOE display. Despite the hysteria around the LG displays supposedly being defective the LG was way nicer than the BOE. I was shocked that they were so different. The LG had richer colors, better contrast and was noticeably brighter. The BOE display also had poor pixel response.
I guess some people had better experiences with the BOE version than I did but I kept the LG model even though that was not my original intention.

Minimum brightness

You don't want to give your significant other yet another reason to yell at you while you're reading XDA in bed. Rate this thread to express what you think of the Realme X2 Pro's display minimum dimness. A higher rating indicates that the display can get extremely dim, ideal for reading in very dark environments.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I heard from two people at least there's a problem with this phone that it has visible greenish tint on lowest brightness. Is that true. They said it's a widespread problem...

Confirmed. Sent mine back for this reason.
I can confirm this is a problem when display is low brightness. But if Flicker-Free mode is turned on the tint disappears completely. And the colours change just a little bit (only when display is low brightness), and not in a bad way. It makes white more natural. I will keep it.
It's an issue due to how amoled display's lower the brightness

Let me correct, other 60Hz amoled do not have this issue.
Rest all high refresh rate have this viz.
Merci beaucoup !
good minimum brightness
It looks like the minimum brightness is on the same level with my old Moto G4+, which seems to have a minimum brightness of 25 cd/m².
But I can confirm a greenish tint (but I think it's not only in low brightness but in all brightness levels, just less visible with higher brightness). It doesn't make a difference if I activate DC-Dimming ("flicker free low brightness" or so) or not. And it's also visible in cold as well as in warm display color temperature. I use 90 Hz.

Yes they do... I've personally seen it on 1x S10, 2x S10 plus, 2x note 10 plus, 1x X2 pro, 1x op7t and recently on the galaxy tab 6. I've also seen people say they have it on mi9t pro and iPhone X.
Edit: Believe me this is a wide spread issue among Samsung oleds... I'm not saying every single person has the issue... But I definitely think most do but don't notice or don't know what to look for. There's no way that it's a minority when I've had 2x S10 plus and the X2 pro and my brother 2x note 10 plus aswell as tab 6 and his partner standard s10 and all have a green tint just to different degrees..
Edit: I'd also like to say it's not limited to region or batch... The first S10 plus I had was from Argos UK, the second from eBay and it was a Hong Kong snap dragon version, my brother's note 10 plus both was eBay, his partner standard s10 was if I remember bought from EE when the S10 range first came out.

So, those who were able to spot green tint, must apply for replacement then.
Well yes if it bothers them enough... Although good look getting a screen without this as my above message it's been on them all... As far as I'm concerned it's probably on most if not all recent Samsung panels... That's not me calling people who say they don't have it a lier... I just don't think they have tested enough... It's slightly different on each panel.
Just to add to this I've seen a mi9t pro tonight with the green tint.

You probably saw it on someones Mi 9T Pro who overclocked screen to 81Hz or 90Hz because on default 60Hz Mi 9T Pro have perfect display. You also said that you saw it on 1x S10, 2x S10 plus, 2x note 10 plus, 1x X2 pro, 1x op7t. Well guess what, I also saw that phones and they have perfect display.
Don't talk bad things about other phones if you have issues on your phone.
X2 Pro is really great phone but most of them have some issues with display because Realme had to cut somewhere to give phone with this specs for very low price so they ordered lowest quality amoled from Samsung.

Don't tell me what I saw or didn't or make out I'm talking rubbish.. the s10 is my brother's partner... The 2 note 10s plus was my brother and the 2x S10 plus was mine... The mi9t pro is also my brother's and he only received it yesterday no screen overclock.
Little update regarding the mi9t pro... My brother got the phone replaced due to heating issues... The new one has less green hue over grey but is still there but this time grey is not uniform and lighter or darker on certain areas and this gets worse when brightness is lower.
This comment is pure speculation.
"Realme had to cut somewhere to give phone with this specs for very low price so they ordered lowest quality amoled from Samsung."
I've attached a photo of my brother's first note 10 plus and I'll have a look later if I can find anymore... He actually posted this on Sam community.
https://ibb.co/Bj0HBzZ
I've attached a good image for others to test... Download the image and double tap in the gallery to expand to full screen... Slowly adjust your brightness while checking the image... This on mine is hard to see any issues unless in a full dark room with no light.

Makes a small difference but the 90hz is not the problem... As I said above with the other phones of which most are 60hz.
Edit 17/04
Pixel 4XL, S10 lite, a71, s20s showing to have this aswell... Like I said previously this is a wide spread Samsung panel issue.

The screen on K30 5G is great

Recently got my second K30 5G. This must be one of the best IPS-screens around. It is really crisp and bright.
I had a Mi 10T Pro a couple of weeks but sold it. It was too heavy and slippery to hold. However, something I noticed is that actually like the sceen better on K30. Its just as bright as the one on Mi 10T Pro and 120hz feels just as fluid as 144hz, however, the backlight halos around the bezels and punchole were more pronounced on Mi 10T Pro.

Question Amoled green/blue tint

Hi guys,
I wanted to report that I've noticed that the screen on my s23 ultra is much "cooler" in terms of colors, and that when shifting the device to different sides, there is a very visible color shifting towards green/bluish. This is very frustrating for me because skin tones and pictures that have a lot of warm colors in them tend to look greenish and colder.
My S21 Ultra doesn't have this issue, the screen just looks great from all angles and is generally better in producing white color.
I was wondering what's your experience with the screen of S23 Ultra, maybe even compared to your previous devices?
Hi
Same issue with mine. I use natural mode and the white balance seems quite a bit off (too greenish) compared to my S21U and P7P.
And the viewing angles are really bad with a strong green tint, especially when viewed at an angle from the top.
Therefore skin tones really take a hit if the phone is flat on my desk.
I've noticed there's a slight uneven uniformity in brightness and colour temperature.
Same issue on mine. Off-axis color shifting is worse than the S22 Ultra, S21 UItra, Pixel 7 Pro, and OnePlus 11 when compared side by side. Dark mode reduces the issue, but it's really bad on apps/websites with white backgrounds.

Didn't samsung start applying blue light filters since the s10 series? I think they even advertized how bluelight free s10's screen was.
So I guess all phones before s23 had them, without this weird color shifting.
I mean, I'm not a screen expert, but just following the logic, if there's a blue light filter embedded, why is the screen so blue/green when tilted?

Yes it is true they applied it since S10 and when I bought Note 10+ years ago i thought the screen was defective because it was more greenish than my Oneplus 7t Pro , actually bluelight filters make gray more greenish and white more yellow, because it blocks the harmful amount of bluelight not all blue light
What is strange is that my brother's S21 ultra is whiter than both my Note 10 + , S22 ultra & S23 ultra
Also when I wear blue light glasses it give same effect on my laptop's screen
Everything that you are saying makes sense. What bothers me is that samsung makes all these wonderful screens for it's previous devices (like you mentioned s21 ultra which i also think looks great), and now this happens with the very noticeable color shifting like it did way back on s7 series.
For those of you that having color issues is Eye Comfort On? Is Vivid Screen Mode On? Is Color Correction On? Is Color Filter On?
Any of these being On could affect the screen colors if they are enabled.

My note 9 has the same problem of differing white balance/tints when slightly off-axis and I don't think that had any physical filter installed.
Have any you tried enabling Eye Comfort then selecting Custom over Adaptive and Color Temperature all way to the left and Enhanced Comfort enabled. That makes the screen as white as possible.

I haven't tried this but the problem isn't just how white the whites are, it's the fact that slightest tilt in any direction results in differing white balance and brightness

This makes it slightly less noticeable, but the color shift is still worse than the S22 Ultra. It's definitely a hardware issue.

@MrDusan I edited your OP as you had mispelled "shifting" by switching the F and the T, so our profanity filter bleeped it
As far as the tint...Many LED screens have twice as many green pixels as blue and red, because the human eye is most sensitive to different shades of green. Not everyone's eyes are the same, obviously, which is why some individuals are unfortunately colorblind - they may be less sensitive to certain colors than others, or be less able to distinguish between red and green for example.
And this how it's compared to S22U

Thanks but I've already checked that. If it was a software issue, it would be yellow when looking at it from the front as well.
When I look at mine head on the screen looks just fine. Why would you want to look at your screen from an extreme angle anyway? It's not like your watching a big screen tv with people on the sides getting a bad view. Your almost always looking at the screen directly anyway and in that case it looks just fine me.
