Can't install Gapps - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently flashed linage os 18.1 on my Xperia TX (Hayabusa). my problem is I can't flash gapps with TWRP (and stock linage recovery). I can't flash magisk and I can't flash any of those with sideload.
root access is only available for adb.
is there anyway to install gapps with adb only or somehow flash magisk?
(I know this device is from stone age. I even got a newer phone but I need this device too)

Lineage Os 7.1.2 Unable to boot into recovery

Lg D724, I rooted my phone to install twrp v3.0.3 something. I install twrp to install Lineage OS.
Twrp v3.0.3xxx is supported to OTA update.
But after I updated, I boot it into twrp to install adon su to gain root acess but something strange.
It only shows the logo of twrp and it seems stuck on it.
What do you think is the problem and any idea to fix it?
If ever, I don't what to format userdata or flash the stock ROM back.
I'm new to custom ROM and modding so thanks for the help in advance.
Sorry for bad English.

Root/Custom ROM/Magisk v.14 - Help to validate understanding

[Noob] Need help to confirm/correct basic understanding of root/custom ROM process involving the latest apks/roms etc.
Device (RN4SD) bootloader unlocked, running MIUI 8.5.8 Stable ROM
Root access only, stock ROM:
1. Only Magisk v.14, No TWRP
- Place stock recovery.img (extracted from mido ROM folder) into phone internal storage
- Install Magisk Manager v.5.4.0 apk on Phone
- Q. Whether to install Magisk v14 zip from Magisk Manager or from MiFlash on PC?
- Q. If from MiFlash on PC, whether to unzip Magisk v.14 into a folder?
- Q. How to patch with stock recovery?
- Q. Whether to select dm-verity option in Manager?
- Q. Will lazyflasher still be needed? If yes, when and how to be flashed?
- Q. Will reboot to system boot into stock ROM, now with root access?
2. Root Access and Custom ROM (e.g. xiaomi.eu)
- Flash install TWRP 3.1.1.0.img (from MiFlash through PC)
- Flash install lazyflasher zip (from TWRP on phone)
- Flash install Magisk v.14 zip (from TWRP) on phone
- Q. Now Reboot? Will this boot into existing MIUI ROM?
Or
- Q. Flash/install custom rom (e.g. xiaomi.eu) (from TWRP on phone) and then reboot to system?
- Q. When do we need to select wipe cache option in TWRP?
Thanks much

Well, I guess, I've no idea about MIUI, but fact that currently I'm running on Xiaomi.eu ROM. I just flashed latest magisk via TWRP, that's it. There's no need to extract it and install apk, as I already said, just flashing magisk zip via TWRP is enough on eu, not sure about other miui Roms.
Custom ROMs and magisk? Ezz easy bruh, all you've to do is to get the latest Magisk zip from magisk thread and flash it via TWRP. There's no need to extract it and install it separately on custom Roms. That's it.
Edit : nah, I didn't flash lazyflasher.zip on either eu or custom Roms. Just flash magisk and boot into system.
if you using official miui rom and using official twrp, you must flash lazyflasher, otherwise you cannot boot into system.

Lenovo P70-A cannot install TWRP after installing ROM

Hello,
I have Lenovo P70-A. I have installed TWRP recovery. I wanted to install Lineage OS 14.1 but it gives me error when installing by TWRP. So I flashed it by SP flash tool. Succesfull. OS is running perfectly (and not lagging as previous OS). But I need to install Gapps. And there is a problem -> After flashing new OS (lineage OS 14.1) TWRP dissappear and I can't get him back.
Bootloader is unlocked; Lineage OS 14.1 is without root (to root it I need unfortunately TWRP).
Why I can't flash TWRP after new OS? I want root the ROM and install Gapps, but I don't know how without TWRP. Can someone help me?

Redmi 8a Global a only 11.0.2.0 QCPMIXM GSI/Custom ROM still flashable?

Hi all, my first post here.
I recently bought this phone thinking it was customizable. Every tutorial I have tried has failed and required a re-flash to stock ROM using MIFlash.
I have tried custom ROMs, GSI ROMs, 64 bit, 32 bit, etc. I tried using Magisk 21.0 to root, it appears to work, but I believe the boot.img patching isn't currently working on this particular phone.
Most tutorials I have tried are very simple and use TWRP to flash the OS img file, then reboot and enjoy. Some suggest flashing vbmeta.img to prevent boot loop, but, boot loop happens anyway. I have TWRP installed and working, so far, that is all I have had success with.
Can this phone still be customized at all?
Update: I achieved root on the stock ROM. If anyone is interested I'll post the exact instructions.

Your bootloader needs to be unlocked and USB debugging enabled first of course. TWRP Recovery should be installed.
To do this, you need the adb and fastboot binaries installed on a PC/Laptop. I use Ubuntu and installing these is trivial via apt package manager:
Debian based:
Code:
sudo apt install adb fastboot
RedHat based:
Code:
yum install adb fastboot
If you use Windows, the install and use of these binaries is a little different. I don't use Windows so you'll have to do a quick search to find out how to install and use these binaries. The commands listed below will work no matter what OS you use.
Connect your phone to your PC/Laptop via it's USB cable and reboot it to TWRP Recovery:
Power off the phone, then power on while holding the volume up button until you see the TWRP logo. Log into TWRP to decrypt.
Next, you need to pull the current boot.img from your ROM to patch it for root access:
Code:
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
There should be a boot.img on your phone's internal storage, copy it to your PC/Laptop. From TWRP, reboot your phone to fastboot.
Now, we'll use this most excellent, free resource to patch the boot.img file which will give root access:
https://patcher.yaalex.xyz/
Check the 'Include Magisk' checkbox on the website before submitting image.
Important: After you upload your boot.img file to the website, be patient. This could take 10 minutes or more to complete, just wait until you get a prompt to download the patched image. You will be provided a patched_boot.img file from the website once it is finished.
Finally, all you need to do is flash the patched_boot.img to your phone:
Code:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
Boot your phone to the ROM:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Install Magisk Manager if you haven't already, and enable Magisk Hide in the settings. Magisk Manager should report root access is available and SafetyNet test should pass.
I typed all this up from memory so if you run into trouble or are confused by any step, let me know and I will gladly clarify/fix the steps.
I hope this helps others achieve root on this phone. Let me know how it goes and happy de-bloating!
Rollback instructions:
If your phone fails to boot don't panic. You can restore your original boot.img if needed to regain access. Reboot your phone to fastboot:
Boot phone while holding the down volume button until you see the fastboot logo.
Next, flash the original boot.img to the boot partition:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now just reboot to ROM and all should be restored:
Code:
fastboot reboot

Iirc redmi 8a is an ab device, and yes this device is as customisable as any other Qualcomm. What gsi image are you flashing?
Actually he is not way off ..... i am NOT able to find a Custom Non MIUI ROM with full VoLTE support. VoLTE fix for GSI's ( if at all it worked ! ) does not work for Havoc. twrp root is all good. I want a NON MIUI ROM that can regional variants ( Europe and Asia ) and supports VoLTE

Edit: what I wrote below is wrong. You're likely running into a Magisk 24.3 bug
-------------------------
This probably doesn't answer your question - but installing Magisk permanently may not be possible. My unscientific opinion (based on my recent experiences) is you may need to install everything in one shot - i.e. no reboot. I recently managed in install Lineage 15.1 from stock using twrp by:
rebooting into fastmode
installing twrp
rebooting into recovery (the one shot I had - if I rebooted at this stage, twrp would be gone! So avoid rebooting from here on out. )
Install lineage zip, then microg & any other packages you want
Reboot into lineage - twrp no longer available
I couldn't get twrp to stay installed even when I tried to install it to system, I figured that's because pollux_windy doesn't have a recovery partition. Also - I'm going off memory, so I may have gotten things wrong. However, it took me about 3 attempts to get things right (at times lineage wouldn't boot, IIRC, I may have forgotten to wipe the cache). I was following the steps in the wiki and used the following versions, accoding to my downloads folder:
twrp v3.6.1_9-0-pollux_windy.img
open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano20220215.zip
lineage-15.1-202000220-nightly-pollux_windy-signed.zip
