Question my s22 from verizon sucks and stumbles during video zoom - Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus

i thought it is latest and one of the greatest samsung after i "upgraded" (or downgrade?) from my s21 ultra to s22 +.
During video, i used pinch to zoom in and out and I noticed it struggles and choppy not smooth. Does anyone observe it? I never had this issue with my previous phones.

Hows the Galaxy S2 Flash Preformance?

I'm thinking about picking up a Galaxy Note when it comes out. I notice that the Note and the S2 have similar processors so I was wonder how does the S2 perform when playing flash video?
Right now I have a Captivate which can only run flash at a disappointing 320p. I would love to run it at 720p on the Note... Maybe that's just a dream tho
I just played a 1080p flash video sample on my sgs2, no stuttering or lag, streaming off mobile data connection as well.
The note should be fine, the GPU in the sgs2 is very powerful anyway so it shouldn't have to much trouble with the extra resolution.

[Q] Photo Quality on CM7

I am thinking about upgrading to a Galaxy S2 (the International version or Hercules on USA T-Mobile), and I'm just wondering about one thing:
One of the strengths of GS2 phones is the photo quality. Being that photo quality is not only affected by hardware, but also software, does this mean that photo quality will be reduced if I was running a custom ROM on the device (CM7)?
I have not cared much about picture qualities on my previous phones, but by the look of it, GS2 could really be a replacement to point and shoots.
Thanks in advance.

Deformation of characters and faces during photography

Hi, I've been solving photography problems since the Galaxy S10 series. And the Galaxy S21 I bought now has the same problems. The point is that people will be deformed when taking pictures. It is most visible about the faces, which are then elongated and variously constricted. It amazes me that no one has mentioned it anywhere in the reviews yet.
I've already asked about some discussions, but people are just cursing me that I can't take pictures. However, others who have noticed are joining my opinion.
Is this problem known at least here on XDA or is no one noticing ?! And if so, what can be done about it? Use another photo application or solve it differently? Allegedly, this is because a 26mm focus is used and Samsung then destroys it by postprocessing. Many thanks for the reply! If that doesn't change or no one advises, I'll have to return the Galaxy S21 and stay with the iPhone 12 Pro, which I wouldn't like because Android is closer to me.
Some example pictures would really help to show what you are saying.
Also what settings you have tested, which of the cameras are being used etc.
There will be a problem with the photos, because I don't want to take photos of my family or acquaintances publicly here.

Xperia 5 II and Xperia 5 III

Now that the Xperia 5 III has been officially announced and the specs delivered, any thoughts on comparisons with the Xperia 5 II and the chances you'll want to upgrade?

Only noticeable hardware changes I see are Periscope camera 108mm and 4500mAh battery (and 5G in US with SD880). Other looks to be software changes which should be do-able on Xperia 5 II too but Sony will not add those looking at earlier pattern. Unless anything from above is must for you I don't think there is a reason to upgrade. At least I am not planning on upgrading this year as I am reasonably happy with 5 II
I agree the hardware changes do not make it an instant upgrade. But, it's good to see things moving in a good direction.
I agree and I'm eager to see actual samples from both the 1 III and 5 III. I thoroughly enjoy Photo Pro.
I decided to pull the trigger and upgrade. Main driver was the improved telephoto lens setup and the 5G capability on T-Mobile USA. I went from a P30 Pro to the 5 II, and the lower zoom level of the 5 II was on my few complaints. While the 5 III doesn't have quite the reach, the quality is better with brighter lens. And, I like the 70 and 105mm steps.
Handing and use is very similar to the 5 II as expected. Some people have commented the 5 III runs warmer, and I have experienced that. But, it's not something I would have noticed if I wasn't paying attention. The phone definitely runs a little snappier than the 5 II, also as expected.
Picture quality not from the telephoto lens is about the same so far. I'll need to take more pictures to get a fuller picture.
Thank you for your input. For a variety of reasons I'm still dithering. It helps that I'm running the updated Photopro but can you tell me the version your 5 III is running? I'm on 1.3.A.0.24.

Even though there are few improvements those are not enough to warrant $1000 upgrade. I am more than happy with my 5 II and don't plan on upgrading for at least another year.
And as Patrickt mentioned I too manually upgraded all Photo/Video related Apps and those seems to working fine.
Waiting for A12 to see if that upgrade brings something new but enjoying my 5 II very much!
Is 1.3.A.0.24 the latest version of Photo Pro that can be installed on the Xperia 5 II?

General THREAD/POLL: Issues with S23 Ultra camera (post you issues)

Seems the stock camera in S23 line has issues not solved yet that lot of users are complaining, I think is the time to create a thread to make Samsung aware of what is wrong with the S23 Ultra too and solve it ASAP:

Galaxy S23 camera may have a hardware issue that Samsung hasn’t addressed yet
Many Galaxy S23/S23+ have an hardware issue on the main camera that causes permanent blurred and smudged spots, Samsung refuses to aknowledge the issue and fix it.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ owners report irritating camera blur that could be lens-based
Are your Samsung Galaxy S23 photos strangely blurry? You aren’t alone
If there is a hardware issue, Samsung should recall all the units affected
The idea of this thread is when you go to Samsung support, you will have something in the case they say that this is not happening.
All of those links refer only to 23 and 23+. They even say that the 23Ultra isn't affected by these issues.
This not, but you can go to the first link where I have added a comparison between Samsung apps taking photos and GCAM, and in my opinion, Samsung has an issue with fusing photos in ExpertRAW.

In the S23 Ultra there is an issue with the camera, because in PRO Mode is noise reduction is heavy applied, maybe not the same issues of other models, but there is an issue with the stock camera and Expert RAW camera.
Try to open a Expert RAW raw shot as High Eficiency RAW in Photoshop and it will be heavy underexposed. Cameras in this phone has issues.

True. Just that your links do not mention the 23ultra. It is annoying that a 1400 euro phone has ****e cameras.

The correct forum is S23 ULTRA or Samsung contacted you to move this thread? as you see 8 people has issues with the camera.

Hey chill out buddy, I clearly was misled by the not so clear thread/poll coherence. Now I stand corrected and was about to move the thread back to the S23U section but my friend @V0latyle took care of it.

Thanks!
Almost 6 years separate the OnePlus 5T from the S23+ and still, the 5T gets better definition and focus, despite the fact that the 5T already has enough problems with the Camera.
But Samsung continues to say that it is a function and characteristic of the lens of the S23+ what is clearly seen in the "banana" effect is a circle of blur, perhaps not because of the sensor but because of the poor construction of the lens. I, like many others, feel cheated for having bought the S23.
Look at the photos and draw conclusions.

Agree with all that. Somehow Samsung photos look good as long as you view them only on the mobile screen. I think for most people that's fine. But we should definatelly excpect more from device with such price tag.

Could you please try to shot RAW with ExpertRAW to check if you find the same issues?

I agree with you, for point and shooters this camera is fine, check the new Oppo with fake bokeh, but some people like fake stuff.
I don't understand why this fever to build cameras of high mpx, I think resolutions between 20mpx to 25mpx is more than enough for everybody and the result will be only advantages from noise reduction to the file size where today the S23 DNGs are very big around 170mpx, my 30mpx mirrorless camera has raw files around 24 mpx with a quality of picture miles a way better compared to any phone..
