Redmi 8a magisk rooting problem

Hello, I am having a problem trying to install magisk on my Redmi 8a. My MIUI version is MIUI Global 10.3.3 | Stable 10.3.3.0(PCPMIXM). I've been exploring xda forums and whatnot to figure out how to install a Custom Recovery. Currently I have Orangefox so we are good there. The issue I am having has to do with a powershell command not working.
adb shell dd if=/dev/block/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
I've been following a youtube guide titled How to Root Xiaomi Redmi 8A (Patch Boot.Img & Install Magisk) by a user named Ben Kone.
Yes I have adb drivers, powershell worked when I was getting my Custom Recovery Orangefox. If anyone knows why the command isn't working I would love to hear, or if someone knows an alternative way root with magisk.
Quick sidenote I'm very new to rooting.

i have similar problems. I had MIUI 11 with android 9, I installed a recovery update to android 10 with MIUI 11.
I have the bootloader unlocked, I have the recovery orange fox.
When I tried to install magisk by recovery, I couldn't do it. I tried different ways. Tried SuperSu, Tried ADB with modified boot.img file but nothing works.
Apparently the phone does not have ramdisk and therefore I cannot install it. I am supposed to modify the recovery.img file to install by ADB, but I don't know how to back it up.
I will try to go back to android 9 to see if I can root the phone.
I have rooted and changed from rom to several xiaomi, the last ones were a note 5 pro and a redmi 7, and everything worked fine, but my redmi 8a is giving me headaches.
I'm having trouble on my redmi 8a to install magisk I'm going to twrp to install magisk over there but when you restarted your phone root magisk doesn't

Yeah, you can flash the file with TWRP recovery.
I have a question.
I was used to use TWRP and this Orange fox is kind of new for me.
I have successfully installed it and i like that it has magisk modules management and customization themes but the thing is i cant get to Orange fox recovery unless i connect my phone and press on volume down and volume up at the same time then force restart it while pressing on volume up then it goes to Orangefox and i find this frustrating that I have to be near a computer just to get to recovery mode.
It was so much easier to get to recovery on TWRP pressing volume up while pressing power button will get the job done but orange fox doesn't.
I liked orange fox but getting to recovery is a hassle. please help me if it has another way of getting to recovery mode without connecting my phone with PC
stucked in splash boot after installing this in a11 firmware
When I try to backup I get error 255 when it tries to backup /data partition
