Question Which screen protector (not glass)! - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

What are the best screen protection (films not hard glass).
I tried samsung ones, but impossible to install easily: dust everywhere, hard to place alone...

Keep the factory one until it wears out.
I been using Gorilla IQ Sheild for over 3 years on my N10+. Wet apply so that placement is fairly easy, inexpensive, long lived and holds up to spen use (self healing). Fairly good feel but not as good as the Samsung one when new (the Samsung's surface coating eventually wears out).
It's sucked up some nasty scrapes with no damage to the display; provides limited impact protection and excellent scratch protection.
A Zizo Bolt case provides the primary display protection. Without this the N10+ would be damaged or destroyed by the first year. These are heavy phones that love to corner hit and face plant.

Zagg do some fab 1s. I get 1 each year and never had a blemish on my screen

Your Note 10+ was about the last with factory SP. No one on S23U
Usually I use Whitestone Dome Glass, but they were not yet available (in NL)
I now used Dome UV Gen Film, designed by Whitestone. Is film but with uv-curing glue. Perfect fit around egdes, easy install and works nice with S Pen.
Together with Sammy's Smart View Wallet Case, I feel my new toy is well protection.
2 pc for 32 euro.
I'll see how long they hold and if I will switch to Dome Glass this time.

Samsung just gets worse by the year. That's why I'm still running two N10+'s that were bought new. How much trouble is it to put a screen protector on it for Samsung?
Both good cases and screen protectors are hard to source for a newly released model.

Here also, though do it at a mall kiosk because my house isn't a clean room (animals bad) and they have a curing caddy er whatever to properly bond it (no bubbles then lifting edges). As expensive as online but replacements are cheap, "lifetime" (whatever that means).

No chance thay I would pay 30gbp for 2 pieces.
I am going with tauri or egv, 2/3 screen protectors for about 10gbp, should last year easily

I've ordered a RIngke Dual Easy Film 'Wing' protector. It wraps around the sides of the phone so that the edges shouldn't lift. Thought it looked like an interesting design, so will give it a go when the phone arrives. Got the Onyx case to go with it too for now.

I received there and succeded to install: the 2 were destroyed... Really hard for me.

I always go with AMfilm. Really easy to apply if you follow the instructions. Feels like it's got nothing applied and is also self healing.

I went for the official Samsung ones on my S22 Ultra and did the same with the S23 Ultra.
If you want to go on the third-party road, I can recommend you this brand. I was using them on my previous phones and the quality was great ( https://aliexpress.com/item/1005002317767448.html ).

Best Clear Case and Screen Protector for the S8

So I'm getting my S8 today but I still don't have anythong for its protection.
1.) What is the best CLEAR case for this device that gives it basic (slim but not too slim)? I also want to have that raised lip for the fingerprint sensor in the back.
2.) For screen protectors, is Temperd Glass recommended for curved devices? If so, which one is best?
I want to have the total cost for these at a minimal as I don't feel like spnding a lot just for the these basic accessories.
Thanks for the help!
Well I wasted almost 30 bucks on screen protectors and the only thing I can say is DO NOT buy any 3D tempered glass that is supposed to cover whole front. The main problem here is the adhesive which is located only on edges of the protector. There is air between screen and protector, which sometimes decreases touch responsivity, forcing you to apply some pressure in certain areas so that the input is registered. Also, most of these 3D glass protectors collide with many cases, so they simply don't work. Personally, just go for some decent case that will secure your device from drop, like RhinoShield or Spigen Neo Hybrid. If you care about design and don't want to lose it, go for something clear and thin/ultra thin
I bought a Baseus case from eBay and lobe it so much. So thin and light and matches perfectly. They are in Amazon too.
Also works with my Darth Vader skin that I have on the back so it still shows that off.

So are you saying not to go with any screen protector at all? Does this apply to the usual "flimsy" screen protectors as well?
Definitely do not buy any harted glass. I have ordered 3D TPU film that has adhesive on whole surface it will ship on thursday so I will tell ya if it works or not

I strongly thinking of going back to no protector. I tried glass and the White Stone dome one was great except the glue on the side kept chipping out and looked terrible. I've got a film protector on now from Best Buy Canada and again it feels so crappy compared to the naked screen. If I remove it I'll still be careful but I do have insurance just in case. I already don't use a case (only a skin) for the very same reason...that I want to enjoy the feel and look of this beauty, not cover to up to protect it for someone else in the future.

I did that with my HTC 10 for a year for the same reason and it has no scratches or micro-abrasions at all. I think it's pretty safe to assume the S8 will be no different. As for going caseless... I wouldn't recommend that for a device mainly made of glass lol. Check out the Supcase review I just posted and try it out if you like. If not, return it or at least you'd have something to put on your phone when you're going somewhere or doing something that may cause you to drop it.

Right, I don't have a doubt regarding their genuineness. It's just that there are other screen protectors like the Spigen Neo Flex that costs $8.99 for a 2-pack as well. Same goes for the clear cases, there are others that are significantly cheaper than the Samsung. So I'm just wondering how do these fare with the official Samsung ones. Any thoughts?

Well, yeah, but I want to know how the Spigen compares to the Ringke. Maybe it is better in terms of other departments and the like.

i absoultly love it, its offer all the feature's im looking at case (thin, clear and lift on top and bottom of the screen)
im gonna order the Spigen liquid Crystal as well. as the reviews says its very good case. (remindes the Ringke features)
I'm using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. I think it a great case. I had the same one on my S7 Edge for a year.

I just finished installing the Whitestone Dome tempered glass screen protector. Initial thoughts so far is it's the best on the market hands down. Make sure you check for case compatibility before you purchase it though. The price is a little steep at $45 but well worth it IMO. The adhesive is under the entire glass and uses a UV to cure. Clarity and touch performance seem to be spot on. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Z...+galaxy+s8&dpPl=1&dpID=51W7ozwV4HL&ref=plSrch

Me too, in Midnight Black color! Very elegant and nice.
Haven't understand yet if the clear back will become yellow or not in time...
About the screen protection, I'm a tempered glass lover. Since I've been using them I've saved all my old phones.
I've tried some curved glasses on my S8, but finally the Zagg Sapphire Curve is available in Europe and I've ordered one!
I know, it's not glass, but it's supposed to be harder then glass, and got now it's the cheapest solution for having a protection this good that adheres to all the device's screen.
And I've seen that it's case friendly and that not that bad in touchscreen sensitivity!

The Spigen ultra hybrid on my S7 Edge stayed pretty much clear the year I had it. I'm using a Armorsuit Military screen protector. It's not glass but it will do for now. It's really difficult to find a tempered glass protector for a curved screen. It seems like all if them are junk. I wait and let others experiment until there is one that really works without issues.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXTRWBL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For clear case, my recommendation would be the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear or the Otterbox Symmetry Clear. The otterbox is slightly chunkier but not much.
As for a screen protector I've tried the Samsung official one and the Spigen Neo Flex.
The Samsung one is a dry application and therefore is extremely difficult to get on right without dust spots. I tried it on 3 different phones and didn't get either of them right, even with the dust removal sticker.
The Spigen Neo Flex is a wet application which is far better cause when it dries out it leaves no dust spots or air bubbles. But imo the corners aren't a perfect fit for most cases. Again I tried a few and even with Spigen cases the corners lifted on all of them. A little trimming of the corners with a scalpel solved this. This protector isn't as clear looking as the Samsung dry film but is of the "military material type" and so self heals with any minor dings and scratches. I'd trim the corners a little (follow the contour of the corner and trim off a mm or two) before applying this for best adhesion on all corners for a case. It def has a slightly different feel to screen but at rhe moment I think this is the best solution of at the moment to protect out precious S8 screens.
Hope this helps.

What is the best Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S8?!

My mother and I have had the S8 since release. We have never had an issue with breaking the screens until this phone! The Zagg one on release day absolutely stunk as the adhesive was only on the curved part of the protector leaving the whole screen non responsive to our touch. Since then we have been daring and been going without one. Within the last 3 months my mother dropped her phone twice. The phone was replaced at a $149 deductible the first time. I refuse to pay it again until I can find a screen protector that works!
Please help!

Doesn't make since to make another thread, but I'm looking for something that's similar. Preferably one that is case friendly, doesn't ruin touch sensitivity, and doesn't have a weird cutout for the sensors at the top. I bought the Pro Glass one in the above post, but it wasn't case friendly.

As far as I know, having tempered glass only won't help when the phone drops.
For myself, I watched several people try drop testing S8 using rhino shield bumper case (can search on YouTube). I too, have one, but since I don't like the glass back getting smeared with fingerprint, I go to otterbox defender (a hefty one), and finally to spigen tough armor (the one I currently use).
For record, I have dropped my phone twice (forgot whether using defender or rhinoshield), without any tempered glass, and the phone is still working without flaw.

Neither is wasting money on cheaper versions that just don't work. If this one actually prevents screen damage without compromising the user experience then it's a good investment.

What case are you using with your GOBUKEE?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074SJV133/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got these. There is about ~1mm gap between top and bottom edges clearance with spigen tough armor on. The sides of the glass are almost right on the edges of the case. I don't recommend using it without a case or with rhino bumper bc it doesn't go to the edges and feels weird bc of the extra gap. It does come with a tool that clips onto the phone to line it up perfect. I'm happy with it.
I'm using a Spigen case. I do have an S8 active, so the case is different, but Spigen makes great stuff
Incipio Plex Plus Shield Edge is awesome, had mine for a couple months and it's still attached lol
I purchased these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078W2LZM6?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd
It may be a PET protector but it does the job and is super thin and case friendly. Another aspect is that it's cheap! 3 for 8 bucks and was easy to install.

What is the best Glass Screen Protector for Galaxy S8
I've always admired how my friend’s phone looked so seamless and smooth, it always fooled me thinking that his screen protector came with the phone when he purchased it. To my surprise, he installed it himself. Now I’m not a bad friend, but this guy can get excruciatingly stupid at times. I thought if someone as dense as him had managed to somehow not mess up with wet installation, how hard can it be?
I got the Ounier screen protectors, a squeegee, a tiny piece of cloth, a manual, and a small bottle spray solution. I’m the old-fashioned type, I never even knew that “wet installation” is actually a thing if not for my buddy. All these items looked so weird to me. I’ll never understand how people come up with this stuff but if it works, then it's fine with me.

What's the most similar screen protector (foil) to the one that's pre-applied on S20?

I had S20 for about 6 months and today I've been unlucky enough to somehow get dust under the protector and I had to peel it off.
I've been happy with it but I sadly found out that Samsung doesn't sell (or apply) the exact same screen protector in their stores so I'm looking for a replacement that will provide the most similar experience to the one that was originally applied on the screen.
Note: I do NOT want a glass screen protector. If there's a foil that will work as good or better than the pre-applied one, that's fine but a glass screen protector is something I'm not interested in.
Yep, I agree with you, their included protector is just great! I read that they do it in their stores, but that was while ago.... I'd be interested in similar protector as well since mine has some scratches and bubbles
I got some of these. Easy to apply (they give you all the tools) and is basically the same as the OEM one in terms of performance and aesthetics. Just read the installation booklet before you dive in as it's like a two part thing with a squeegee tool.

So I did but the one you suggested and I'm generally happy, the application I've done wasn't perfect (I applied the foil slightly to the left but other than that, it is aligned) but I do agree that it was quite easy to apply.
So onto differences from the OEM one.
There is no hole for the camera which I'm not sure is bad since I don't really use front camera and can't say if it affects the quality. For me it's probably a benefit because it would drive me mad if the hole were misaligned because of my imperfect application
Sadly, the foil is "softer" - if I grab the phone in wrong way and my fingernails put too much force towards the screen, it does leave marks (scratches, I guess). They don't seem to actually stay there for long but I don't feel as comfortable knowing that I can scratch it that easily. Even though I don't expect to change this foil to anything else, the OEM was definitely better on that front.
I don't really have much else to say here, for the price (I bought 3-pack for an equivalent of 13-14$) it's great but if I would be looking for the best foil out there (and had money to waste on all the different foils ), I would definitely keep looking for a better one.
Ibywind. Best of the best.

I had the same problem with my S20; I tried different tempers but nothing worked, then I tried gadgetshieldz screen skins, which were recommended by a colleague. I've been using it for three months and am pleased with it.
In my perception, you may like that because the display skin is ultra-thin.
Am leaving the link which I ordered on: Samsung s20

Question UV glass screen protectors and am I best taking Samsung's screen protector off?

Hi, I am getting the S23 ultra soon and was wondering, am I best leaving Samsung's film screen protector on, or will this not really offer much protection?
Am I best taking this off and putting my own?
I was looking at these UV glass ones, which I don't really have experience with, they are all a little on the dear side in comparison to the glass ones that are ready to stick.
I tend to prefer glass as it feels like more protection and touch / fingerprint still works fine and also tends not to suffer air bubbles as much.
Regards
James
You dont get a screen protector on it when it arrives
After years of using the UV product you mentioned (whitestone dome) I settled on the practical plastic films. These are very cheap, you can get 2 or 3 at just $10, they avoid scratching mainly and the feel is not as good BUT cleaning up the screen after removing the protective UV glass is a nightmare, replacements cost $40 to $60 in case it breaks or dents. The plastic film doesn't really dent and it's much thinner and as far as my experience goes most cases are compatible with the plastic one, in contrast with the UV glass. Furthermore, the installation of the glass is not "for everyone", I am used to do precision work with my hands and the installation process is not something I would recommend to an inexperienced person: some glue is going to get outside while curing the screen with the UV lamp and it can infiltrate in your mic holes or in the small gap between the display and the frame. Last but not least, if you want to use the phone without a case with the glass you get a noticeable step on all 4 sides which is very uncomfortable especially if you use gestures. If you want to give it a try, is something you can live with and it has for sure benefits as far as feeling and protection. On the other hand, all the above issues remain. Sorry for the bad grammar and punctuation, I'm in a hurry. I hope my comment helps you decide for the best!

That's a bummer, they have as far as I know, at least on the flagships since the S10

I swear by these whitestone dome protectors. The newest versions (I have one on my S23U) come with stickers to seal the buttons and edges when you install so you don't get any glue in the buttons.
If one watches the video, the installation process is relatively fool proof. I've not yet had a bad installation and the glass has saved my phone more than once.
Fingerprint sensor sensitivity is reduced somewhat but still functions perfectly.
IMHO, these are far and away the best protectors and I'd not use any other.
Getting on my high horse here to ***** about the hypocrisy around "saving the planet" by not providing a screen protector....it's all virtues signaling and real cheap ass practice.
Look what resulted from buying a screen protector from Scamazon (add gas burned, electricity, etc ) to see the "savings"

I completely agree that as far as protection Whitestone Dome is the best you can get - but that was not in question.
I also agree that the procedure is pretty straightforward but you would be amazed knowing how MOST people can screw up easy things. Not everyone has decent manuality: people actually pay to get cheap screen protectors installed by some "specialized tecnician". I am someone who fixes its stuff to the point of soldering components, just for curiosity and because I enjoy it, but most people don't want to deal even with screen protectors

yeah it looks like they stopped including them with S22 Ultra. My S21U came with a screen protector and the S22U didn't. I'm from EU if it matters.

I'm also thinking if I want to have the TMax UV Dome installed on my S23 Plus but I'm reading mixed reactions with using UV Dome. I won't install it myself so that's out of the question. But that screen protector also covers the front camera which sucks and I don't know how good/bad it is. I know it's from China but so is Whitedome.
Some experienced users told me to use a TPU film instead, like the ArmorSuit wet install film. The display of the S23 is very good and it just needs a simple TPU screen protector to protect it from unavoidable scratches. Is the difference in feeling between a TPU and tempered glass protector that significant? What else made you suggest using TPU instead of glass?

If using the plus, it has a flat screen and UV glass isn't necessarily needed. The UV glass really excels in the curved screen market where most of the glass screens only have glue in the corners or have other issue towards the edges. The liquid glue allowed for better flash adherence to the screen. For the plus I would just get highly rated 9h tempered glass.

I see. But how about the problem with the fingerprint sensor? I see a lot of people having issues when using a tempered glass protector with their Samsung fingerprint sensors. And that's why most of them say that a TPU film is enough.
Thanks for everyone's replies, after a lot of fear, hassle, and a bit of a loss of money I decided on a film protector which is working 100% fine.
Not sure if I just picked rubbish glass screen protectors, but they caused me big issues. Neither would work with fingerprint reader and because they were hard, my original case was lifting the sides of the protector a bit, meaning touch was less sensitive.
The first glass protector I tried was UV and when it came to taking this off, that was a little scary with this brand-new phone!
Trying to peel it back off was a hard job, was very stuck and was actually cracking as I was slowly lifting it off.
So now I have a different case that doesn't affect the protector and a film protector and all seems good now

Very little issues. Honestly it's works as well as the tpu film did I had on my s21 ultra. I wanted glass over the film on the ultra because of the pen. I wasn't sure how the pen tip would work with indenting the tpu film. I like the feel of the glass a lot better.
Before my S23U arrived I already had the case and glass ready. Didn't even power it on first, but went right away and applied this UV glass.
No issues with case causing glass come off. Glass needs to be perfectly aligned.
I did the same with my N9 that I traded in - not a scratch anywhere, although I dropped it few times and the UV glass saved it And I had N9 for full 4 years..
No issues when I took the glass off before shipping N9 back to Samsung.

After using these on my S21 Ultra, I purchased the same for my S23 Ultra and installed it today. Took about 15 minutes and extremely happy with the results. Feels like the original glass and most times don't even notice it's on. Additionally, customer support is top notch. Any issues and they send out replacements without issue. They're also available for installation support if needed.
The key is to watch the installation video and read the instructions multiple times and clean clean clean the phone.

I live in Asia and use Zeelot glass screen uv protector. Fingerprints work well and didn't have issue with my case
I used DomeGlass from Note9 (was little thick)>N20U and S22U and overall was good and happy but usually after few months under glass I saw "spider web" from glue on the edges.
Now in my S23U use Polish product like 3mk film and I am positive surprised good quality- thin, good sticks on the edges and low dirt from fingers similar, smooth spen use.
In this year don't miss to domeglass.
Nevertheless dome glass is good product but very expensive, installation with YT step by step is even easy

I'm thinking of original samsung screen protector, however there are very bad reviews from one that it is not easy to put it on, but ppl who manage to do it are very happy, no peel of on screen edge and good feeling with finger. What exactly 3mk model of film You use? Hammer maybe?

Yes, I think too about original samsung screen protector but I will buy it after receive points (about few days) thanks to buy phone in official site. Change my 3mk if I see issues but after 1 week (I know it's small period time) all is fine with case spigen tough armor.
However I don't sure that later, will not unstick because is full dimension from corner to corner with my case.
Easy wet application like similar film protectors.

i use domeglass and spigen ultra hyprid clear case, because of Red Color from phone.
Its fit perfect together.

Question Screen Protector Recommendation ( impact Protection+Fingerprint Unlock)

Dear Community,
Received a S23Ultra and now I am on the lookout for a glass(but not limited to) screen protector which allows for working Fingerprint Unlock. I wrote Glass because i guess something like the whitestone dome would dissipate the impact forces in the glass protector, instead of transmitting it to the screen. Previously i know zagg had a impact protective Film, but now they changed their products too much, it confusing.
What is your experience ? what do you recommend ?
Thanks
My phone is due to arrive tomorrow and I'll be trying these screen protectors. I've looked through all the usual brands I'd use but the S21 was a nightmare with the fingerprint reader so I had to keep it bare in the end. So, I'm going to try these and will report back ASAP.

Thanks, i just ordered the whitestone dome tempered glass, although in the past with my s10 I had it crack in my hose pocket . Most probably will order some other, based on other ppls experience as I expect it not to hold up too long

Thanks for the tip, if that one has no issues with the touch, fingerprint. And no ugly cutout for the fingerprint area then its a good candidate
I bought this.

Can't say I am overly happy with it though. I hate screen protectors with borders around the tempered glass, which wasn't mentioned in the description.
inwas looking at that one.also but you could see the black border in the pics and I'm am.guessingnit only has glue on the outer edge. I ordered the same.brand but the one that has the UV light.

Hello, You are not too satisfied because of the borders or the sensitivity of the fingerprint?

A bit of both. It also doesn't want to stay fully down for me. The edges have lifted but there is a second one in the box. The rear camera covers though are great.
I brought this one, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004031147265.html
I previously had one from Mocolo and their glass is silky smooth, you can definately feel the difference between other brands.
It also works fine with fingerprint sensor!
So, just to update this thread with my choice at the moment. I installed this whitestone dome glass, fingerprint works after readding my fingerprints(actually worked with the saved ones from the naked glass but slower/had to press firmly) and now it works better, but still noticebly slower than without the protector. Having face unlock with this also on, i find it a good tradeoff.
Tbh , on my s10+ had the same glass and on some vacation found it crack in my jeans , so lets see how long this will last. Probably i will buy some other cheaper brands mentioned here after this first glass cracks. They have a really cool and easy installation procedure, got a nice fit. The glass has some dots to ensure an even separation from the screen glass, so i guess the impact protection is better that way given the depth which allows the forces to dissipate inside the hardened glue.
BR and thank you for sharing your choices of glass protectors with fingerprint working!
I use Zeelot. Fp working good and it's tempered glass

23ultra is more flat... i wonder if the adapter will also fit to align the screen protector. For s22u is half price cheaper than for 23ultra and i already destroy one because of dust and second in almost perfect but still some dust on the edges. I like Samsung protector as feeling with finger is almost like original gorilla glass. And it is not easy peel off on the screen edges... But i can't find anyone who already try it.
Ok I have used AmFilm for years. No issues with it sticking and fingerprint sensor worked. This year with the s23 ultra they are using different glue that doesn't stick well. Screen starts coming off for me after less than 24rs. Good product in the past terrible product now. Unless they update the glue there product this year is garbage.
On a good note I just installed the IMBZBK. Sensor working great and glue seems to be stronger. Still too early to tell but will give you guys an update after a week or so.

I installed the Samsung one. It's plastic not glass. It's fine. Hardly notice it.
I had previously installed a glass one, but I prefer the Samsung one.

Problem with film protector is that it is not very smooth hence hindering playing game which require quick and precise swiping (rhythm game)

Actually so far the Samsung one feels great.
My Ringke lasted exactly one week before delaminating. I will install the spare but then probably move to something else.
