[GUIDE] Lenovo Legion Y70 - Unbrick with QFIL - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since there's no Legion Y70 section, I'm posting this here in hopes of helping those who may have bricked their device (like I did).
Requirements:
1. Stock rom. I used L71091_CN_SECURE_USER_Q00041.0_S_ZUI_14.0.697_ST_221216_QPST.zip but any version will work.
2. QPST, QFIL, and Qualcomm drivers installed. I installed them from here: https://qpsttool.com/qpst-tool-v2-7-496
Steps:
1. Extract the stock rom zip to a folder with no spaces. For example I used C:\Stock\
2. Open QFIL, click on Configuration->Firehose configuration
3. Set the configuration settings as shown in attached file config.png (reset state machine should be checked, device type UFS)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
4. Back in the main QFIL window, select:
Build type : Meta build
Programmer Path: Select the xbl_s_devprg_ns.melf file from where you extracted your stock rom .zip
Content XML: select contents.xml
Storage types: ufs (in the middle and in the bottom right corner too!)
RawProgram and Patch: Select all available files in the rom directory.
For RawProgram, there should be 9 files: rawprogram_unsparsed0, retain_userdata, unsparsed4, and rawprogram 0 to 5
For patch, there should be 6 files: patch0 to 5
5. With the phone off and unplugged, hold volume up + volume down at the same time
6. Plug the phone into a USB slot on your computer while still holding the volume up+down buttons. Wait for Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMx) to appear on top of the QFIL screen. You can now release the volume buttons.
7. Click Download Content.
Voila!
My phone was bricked/bootlooping giving me a QUALCOMM CRASHDUMP error on boot up for several days now after trying to load a custom rom and I kept getting SAHARA FAIL error in QFIL while trying to reflash stock in EDL mode. Finally the above settings worked!

Hello, maybe it's late but for those who need it, I had the same problem as you, that always came up until I came across some advice on why it usually happens, in my case it was that the connection was made before time, We must configure everything long before placing and connecting the mobile in EDL mode, be careful it must be a 100% original USB cable of any brand for the data transmission to be successful... I hope it works for you...

This is super helpful! I've linked your guide in my discord server (for Y70 owners) if you don't mind. If anyone is interested in joining, here is the invite: https://discord.gg/r5VMszTGVr
Please feel free to share the link around or invite others. There are help and support channels, and a resources one too. I'm hoping we can attract more people there and have more things shared amongst each other.

I have the same doubt. You managed to find out.
Discord users have stated that it works using Magisk

LG D325 - boot error, boot certification verify, DBI Err fatal

Device: LG-D325
I tried rooting, unlocking bootloader, and installing custom rom (this link).
I successfully gained root & unlocked bootloader. Than it all went down.
I flashed recovery and booted into it, using "fastboot boot recovery.img" command.
I flashed cm12.1 and after that I got the "purple screen" error.
When phone is off and I try to normally turn it on:
1st screen:
Code:
Secure booting error!
Cause: boot certification verify
2nd screen:
Code:
DemiGod Crash Handler : DBI Err Fatal!
Board Rev.: 1.0
Ram dump mode.
Option : SD card ram dump mode.
Push below files to sd card before test.
rdcookie.txt, rtcookie.txt
Please do following action.
1) Ram dump Mode. Please connect USB.
2) Get the ram dump image using QPST Configuration.
3) If sdcard ram dump enabled just wait for reboot.
4) Collect ramdump files from your pc or sdcard.
5) Send e-mail to [email protected]
The same happens when I plug in the USB cable when phone shut off.
Also, I cannot enter the fastboot menu (previously I could - before flashing CM12.1 via recovery) using volume UP + power buttons. Therefore, I cannot enter recovery.
Any info on this situation?
You need to short the test point of your phone and force the phone to qhsusb dload mode after that boot repair
it will repair your phone's download mode
And flash the phone

Is there any way to fix this problem bro with out jtak
Thanks.
The test point method is not the JTAG method

Use the test point method. It works very well and it's quite easy. But first I recommend you try "LG Flash Tool 2014" . If that works, no need to open up the phone for test point method. If you are already seeing pink screen demigod error DBI fatal error, no need to go for JTAG I think.
Feel free to ask if you need assistance for testpoint method. I have already published the method for few other people here on XDA. A little search will bring you there

Previously i had Pink screen and Lg Pc Suite could recognize my phone
I,ve tried Format to Fat32 my inner phone emmc(i did not insert in my phone microSD card) DiskImageRev2.zip and LoaderD325.img. After format to fat32 it was 4gb.When i,ve installed loader.img it became 64mb with 2 folders in it. Device monitor showed the phone as qhsusb_bulk (i already had istalled Qualcomm drivers) After installation of LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.0.4.exe ( 12,39 МБ )
It was recognised as LGE AndroidNet USB. (com port 3) After that i tried LgFlash tool (tot and kdz firmware,it showed error on 50%) 2014 and BoardDiag also showed error .
I can not convert it to Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (I saw many articles where people with qhsusb_bulk converted it to Qualcomm 9006 after installation of qualcomm drivers,but it did not works for me. Please help
Any ideas? I heared about SRK tool 2.1 Does it works for my Lg L70 D325? Or maybe QPST, or ADP

I think you are referring to the famous "purple screen" mode. Relax, that is not hard to get pass.
Follow the steps below.
But, be warned, I am not responsible for any damage caused by following these methods.
Your phone's battery has to be charged at least 50%.
You'll need a USB "data" cable.The one came with your phone is the best. Some third party cables have only power lines connected in and they will not work. So, make sure you have the "data" cable.
1. First, we have to install the necessary drivers(I am assuming that you're using a Windows PC) .
Here are the drivers. Download, install and give your PC a restart.
2. Download LG flash tool 2014 from here and extract it to your root directory(For example, drive "C " in your PC )
3. Download the firmware file for your specific phone model. In your case, as you have mentioned, it is LG D325. This is a link to a matching firmware for LG L70 D325. This file is big and its around 920MB. After download, extract the zip file to the folder where you copied the LG Flash tool 2014.
4. I hope the above mentioned steps were followed correctly and you're ready now. Remove your battery, press the power button for 5-10 seconds and then re insert the battery. press the volume up button and plug the USB cable(The other end has to be plugged in first to PC. Refer to this video if you are unclear.
5. Now launch "LG Flash tool 2014.3.exe" (right click on it and select "run as administrator" for best results).
6. Once the program is open, and click on 1 and select your kdz file which you got from the step 3. Then click either "Normal Flash(2)" of "CSE Flash".

}
7. Now another window will appear and click "Start" as in this picture.
wait until the program finishes and once done, you'll get the initial setup screen on your phone with a greeting message.
If you're still unclear, please pass a comment. Happy communicating..

The Bootloader must be unloked?
I see the following under Device Manager when I connect my Nexus 6P to a Windows 10 Desktop via USB C:
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)
I have installed the Mi Flash Tool as above along with USB drivers and Qualcomm drivers. I am not able to flash any factory firmware, however. I receive an error stating that the "hello packet" could not be received followed my an object reference error. I have tried many versions of the Mi Flash Tool to no avail.
Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

power off your device with pressed the power key for 30 seconds. if the EDL mode is not in the right state .it will said send hello packet errors.
this firmware is flashed with qcom's firehose protocol. it needs the device in the right firehose state.
@tenfar Can u update to the another host so we can easily download? That's will be great.
@tjchuot287 you can download "nexus6p_fix_bricked" firmware using "Advanced Download Manager" ADM on PlayStore using its built-in browser with "desktop mode" enabled...
Worked for me...
Hope that helps...
@5.1 I mean that i cannot download "USBdriver_8916.zip", but i think i will find it on google and download it instead. Hope it works.
@tjchuot287
I used advanced download manager and both downloaded fine... Since then far already shared the firmware from his server, It's likely he'll provide an alternative link for the driver as well... :good:
@5.1 does it unbricked your phone? Im kind of desperate
Well, I didn't use it... Since my phone is working. :angel:
I guess tenfar wouldn't have posted it if it didn't work. :good:
anyway, how to enter to EDL mode?

I press the power key for 30 seconds with the USB C cable attached to the computer and the computer does emit a tone as if the phone has been disconnected and the device manager continues to show the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3). However, I still receive read packet error.
Do you have any other suggestions on how to get it into the correct EDL mode or the correct firehose state?
UPDATE:
[0.00 COM3]:[COM3]:start flash.
[0.00 COM3]:received hello packet
[0.00 COM3]:can not found programmer file.
Hello packet is recevied. However "can not found programmer file" is returned. Programmer file prog_emmc_firehose.mbn is in the extracted contents nexus6p_fix_bricked.zip, however the Mi Flash Tool does not recognize.

I'm not sure this procedure require an unlocked bootloader. However @tenfar may certainly shed some light on this matter...
Hoping you get it sorted though...
Still getting "cannot receive hello packet" error. @tenfar a couple of questions:
- If the phone is detected in Device Manager as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COMx)" do I still need to install the drivers from step 2?
- Do I need a particular combination of power, vol +/- in order to put the phone in the right EDL mode?
When I hold the power button for few seconds, the PC it is connected to makes the standard tone when a USB device is plugged/unplugged, but device manager still show the same device and Miflash still gives me the error when I flash.
Thanks for all the help BTW

Moto E6S XT-2053-1 Unlock Bootloader, Disable Verity, ROOT Magisk, TWRP

I am perfom this Sorry for my english, I am from Ukraine
Download archive!
We unpack. Install the adb and mtk preloader drivers, if they are not installed, restart the computer.
In the smart, turn on the developers menu, in it - "Allow OEM unlock" and "USB debugging" and connect the smart to the computer.
We drop valuable photo data from the smart to the computer for any, and, without disconnecting the smart from the PC, run the script (with the phone connected to the PC and loaded into the android phone. Reboot_to_fastboot_getvar current-slot.bat (not from the admin, just click twice).
Smart will look like this:
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
we allow - put a daw, ok. We are waiting for the smart to reboot into fastboot, when the barcode appears on the smart screen, before that we do not press anything in the script
I did the scripts step by step, after each operation in the script window, press enter to continue, and so on until each script is closed
We look at our current slot in the window and remember the letter - a or b:
In the script, press enter so that the smart reboots and the script closes.
Run flash_tool.exe, go to this tab and check the boxes, as in the screenshot:
So we consider the necessary versions of orig. files, so as not to download and sew a specific firmware version for this instruction.
(And best of all, all the checkboxes, except for system, vendor, userdata - they are not critical, if they are not removed, it will take up a lot of space on the computer up to +74 gb, but I did not put these checkboxes, there must be some risk and passion )
We press "Read Back" and only then we connect the switched off smart to the PC, we wait, at the end we disconnect the bodies, do not touch it: sveta:
Go to this tab, remove all checkboxes! And we only put on lk_ with the letter of a non-your slot that we looked at, for example, you had slot "a" - so we put a check on lk_b and vice versa :
Click "Download" and connect the switched off smart to the PC (it was already turned off: sveta
As it flashes, we close the USB flash drive window, disconnect and turn on the smart, after loading, we connect it to the PC again, we already run the script
Unlock_Moto_E6S.bat, wait until the body reboots into a fastboot (to the barcode on the screen) and only then press the input step by step to continue in the script until it is completely closed.
Everything, the bodies are unlocked. Now you can get an excellent and fast root from Magisk, try other firmware, unsubscribe which one is buggy, which one flies. I haven't tried yet. Now I will write how to flash orig. kernel with magisk root (attached magisk boot for xt2053-1 4/64 fw RETEU 288-60-6-29 https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/fiji/official/RETEU/
Additionally, there is a script in the folder to delete the message when loading that the bootloader is unlocked, it does not interfere much, but I deleted it. Since this is not important, I separated it from the main script, since I did not test it on different versions of the firmware, in theory it should work on all versions, you can try after unlock. Or throw off ROM_45 from your firmware, I'll remove it from it. I now have the latest firmware flashed, it is on the server, but for some reason it did not fly through the air. If you flash it, then you can safely delete the message from the bootloader with my script, there is a file from it)

I took the first firmware I got to try from here: https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=892755
but the firmware itself is everywhere, for example here:

You can try to sew any GSI arm64 a/b from anywhere you find and choose the one you like, because smart supports Project Treble.
If you like one and will look cool and work firmware, post links here!
Tested it and it worked! Thanks a lot!

Any help? Tha device still says that is unlocked

did you use the auth file that comes with sp flash tool? without that your device wont boot properly
Yes, i used the correct download agent and auth file
interesting, i followed all his steps and had no problem rooting it. try backtracking with his scripts again?
Solved it, also me and a developer are working on a new, more simple and automated script. Still haven't figured out how to flash the lk via script.
When is done i will post a complete guide in the moto e6s forums on how to do it, i think it might work well, but i would have to test in a non-unlocked device
Can someone please make a video with explanation, I didn't understand very well what is done, so I won't touch anything, but I thank those who record a video explaining it to me (I'm Brazilian)
Here you have a more straight forward guide, note that is still in testing
[GUIDE] How to unlock bootloader on E6s
Hello, in this guide i will show you how to unlock the bootloader on Moto E6s ;) (Sadly for now this guide is Windows only) CAUTION You are doing this AT YOUR OWN RISK! I will NOT take responsibility if you brick your device! Also, remember to...

Excuse my ignorance, do you think it is compatible for the XT2053-5 model?
cannot use fastboot flash boot magiskboot.img

Question Mi11i hard bricked

I tried to install Project Elixir and my phone is hard bricked now... Brick is result of attempting to boot system on TWRP, slot A. Device is in EDL state I guess, because when I connect it by USB, it shows in device manager. I downloaded necessary driver and MiFlash, but I receive information that it can't connect to device: "write time out, maybe device was disconnected". I also removed back cover to find some test spots, but I can't find them. Is it something I can do?
Are you sure you use the right cable? There are USB cables only suitable for charging not for data communication.

I remember that I used this cable to transfer .zip OS file to phone, so transferring was working under TWRP earlier.

Thanks. Tbh I'm not sure, if it's even in EDL mode, because I noticed that QPST shows infinitely loading green bar in "State" column. Phone reacts to + and power buttons, because when I press it, MiFlash and QPST don't even recognize it properly. When I press - and power buttons, device is recognized in MiFlash. In QPST there is also some info about it.
