ok,u can change it but u must do some steps.
1/back up your data
2/download a origin rom from your PDA's website
3/flash it with this rom(don't extract this file,use *.exe)
4/flash it again with a rom,hard SPL,radio those u R using
5/restore your data
your splash screen will be change.i did it.my XDA neo splash was changed from O2 origin to O2 race (BMW)
What happened?
Probably you used a WM5.NVID RUU to prepare your device (Step1) for flashing another ROM.
The two startup screens (we call them splashscreens) are some specific picture-files that CAN be installed when a RUU is executed. The upgrade RUU's you find here don't bother with that, but the official vendors are very eager to have their own logo on yor device, so their RUU's contain a splashscreen section in the RUU. It does nothing more then change the startup picture.
So if you want to change back, it will only be cosmetic, there are no software changes whatsoever.
In this forumsection, there is a thread that offers a splashscreen-changer. So, if you can find the original dopod picture files, you can use that tool to chage only the startupscreens. If you have the original Dopod RUU, you could extract the splash-file.

1- extract nk.nbf from the ROM contains the splash you want using this tool and this command

2- now use the tool nb2nbf like this:
Model ID: PM300
Language: WWE
oem version: leave blank
operator version: leave blank
CID: delte it, leave blank
only the file 92000000-Splash.nb and delete others like this: write or chose exatly like this
files 1: 92000000-Splash.nb, choose Splash Screen from image name the start address will become 92000000
3- press translate
4- flash the new nk.nbf with the NVID_Gx

Oh yes please. If anyone has it, please do share. If not, can someone who has the latest Official ROM for 818Pro, please upload to rapidshare. I can't get to the ROM download section because the HTC registration page don't seem to accept my device's serial number.

Hi All,
I have an XDA II with the lastest O2ASIA ROM.... Kind of anyway.
I stumbled upon an update for the XDA II and thought I would install it. Unfortunately I did not see the link that said "Asia Pacific Users click here"
and ended up attempting to upgrade to the UK ROM. It appeared to run perfectly, but now I have an O2ASIA XDA II that only says "USB v1.06".
So I'm obviously stuck at the bootloader screen. Have attempted to put the latest O2Asia version back on:
ROM version: 1.60.00 WWE
Radio version: 1.08.00
ExtROM version: 1.60.44
MMS Client: 1.6.0.8
but no joy, I get:
"Model ID Error 1-N-PH-PH-PH"
I have read through many posts with nothing really being of any help at this point.
How do I get my XDA working again? TIA to anyone who has slightly more of a clue than me

I think your first update modified either your device model ID, country ID or language ID ... in this case you can unpack your Asian ROM upgrade file ... use xda2nbftool.exe to modify its files to have the O2 UK signatures.

well, you can try this ... use ER2003Edit tool to open the UK upgrade file ... you should find the required IDs there
Yep, did that. Used same tool to set the AsiaPac files but no joy, same Error 100: Model ID Error.
There does not seem to be any info around regarding creating an SD image on a PC that could be used to restore everything - that would be handy.

Ok, problem sorted.
Booted a mate's XDAII to the bootloader, created the three ROM images on an SD card, put it in mine and it all downloaded successfully.
Does anyone know how I can take an image of the SD card?

i've experienced the same problem when I downgrade mine from 1.66 to 1.60 O2 Asia
First reflash the unit with the 1.66 ROM, Use the ER2003Edit, make the DeviceID, Langguage Blank. the Country = 'O2'
the flash it.
then flash it again use the Original Working ROM from O2 UK or ASIA.
But for right now it is not possible to downgrade from 1.66 to 1.60 since from the information I got from the service center there's different Main Board for the XDA.

you can do that by a program called hex workshop. it allows you to save hex dumps of any storage card into a file and back again. i have done this today successfully several times. now i have the same problem. i have flashed my xda2 with a german 1.72 dump from an eplus qtek2020 but now the way back is blocked without a correct dump of a german o2 xda2, which i dont have available :-(

Hi, I am having the same USB 1.06 screen dead OS problem after trying to convert 1.66CHT ROM to 1.60WWE ROM.
Please help, I am not sure
1) what header information to change the 1.60WWE ROM so that i could flash the ENG version in the O2ASIA
2) used ER2003EDIT with error after trying to change the header information
3) dont' have the 1.66CHT ROM? couldn't get back

Here are the steps to sort out your XDA.
1. Find someone else with the same XDA (preferrably a friend - doing this will delete all their settings and data)
2. Get an SD card (I used a 128MB but 64 should do).
2. Download this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=19
3. Back up the data on the other person's XDAII
4. Disable USB connections in ActiveSync
5. Boot your friend's XDA to the bootloader (Power-Direction-Reset)
6. Put the XDAII in the USB Cradle
7. Use the program from (2) to backup all the ROMs to SD. I used the instructions found here: http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62
8. Put the SD card into your broken XDAII and reset it
9. Push the power button when it tells you to and it will dump the ROMs to your XDA
10. Have a celebratory beer because your XDA is now working.

Hi, i have exactly same problem here (bootloader version 1.06), reading all the forums but no luck thus far. Problem is I don't have a mate with an xda 2. Anybody know where i can find the image needed and how to save it to SD card? I am no techie so step by step instructions would be welcome If nothing else works, if any kind soul would be so kind to email the image to me, (in chunks if its too big to email) I would be forever grateful

You are in the UK so I don't think my image is going to work, but since you are desparate I will post it here.
I can't help you out too much, I created the image with the hex editor mentioned in the above posts, I have not had time to play with it and can only tell you that it is an image of the 128mb flash card that i fixed my xda with.
While I have dumped it from the card, I have not actually experimented with how to write the image back to the card so I think if you are not a techie you will struggle a bit to get it working.
Note that this is the Asia Pacific image and will probably not work in your xda since you are in the UK.
If you do manage to write the image to the SD card, just put it in the slot and reboot the xda and it will tell you to press the power button to download.
Can I suggest that this forum might be a good place to post other SD ROM recovery images for other regions apart from the one I have???

i will try and download it... waiting for a fellow from the forum who has the right image (hopefully) to get back to me... and i am surprised as u r these images are not readily available on the net.. I think they would solve many problems in case something goes wrong when u update. As a matter of fact these image files should be available form the product support (just like windows boot disks are available to repair a desktop computer) thanks for ur help, if anybody knows how to dump the image correctly, please post the procedure here (will need it for uk image too)... I am not asking too much am i?

I have copy the image to the my SD card and try to reboot like what you mentioned, but it doesn't ask me anything. All it did was just showing the serial v1.06. I tried the power + direction pad + rest and it is no use. Am I doing any thing wrong?
I did the HardSPL and then tried to upgrade to Crystal v5.1 but after going through the steps as I understand them to be, my 818pro just gets stuck at the Red-Green-Blue bars screen with the following 2 lines of text and it won't go anywhere else.

And then I read through and found someone posted a link to get IPL to 2.20 which I installed and now the Red-Green-Blue bars screen has the following 2 lines.

I don't know what I can do next. Does anyone have the utility to flash it back to Dopod 818pro original ROM so I may try to upgrade to Crystal v5.1 from scratch again? What solution is there there to get my phone functioning again.

You didn't install HardSPL the right way, otherwise it should say:
SPL 2.G3.4PDA
So, just start all over again! BTW you have to run JumpSPL first before you can install HardSPL. To make things easier HMA4 created a .bat file that takes care of all the steps at once. You will find detailed instruction in the HardSPL thread and the New Upgrade Guide.
What I did was run hma4's .bat file. I don't know what went wrong but now I can't just run that .bat file to install again because I'm stuck at the RGB screen and the .bat execution just says

you can download any "STEP1" connect your PDA with the bootloader screen and install it, it should be fine...if you still having issues, go ahead and download my ROM from the below link..its about 90 MB..you should have WinRar installed on your XP, download both files in one directory then right click one of them and select "Extract here" it is a shipped I mate Jamin G4 rom with Arabizer...it will replace the 3 splash screen, the Radio and reformate your PDA , BTW it does not check VID so no issue with any G4 (if you are using a G4 prophet this WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE ), when you are done...start from scratch with that BAT file.
* i assume you know how to flush roms

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!
Ok so i burnt my battery during the upgrade...
But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...
I really do not know what to do...

Unfortunatly the Softbank hermes cannot be unlocked after a certain point:

sounds like you have let the device install the ext_rom when you first turned it on, unfortunatly you cannot unlock it to use any sim card.
But you can do it with IMEI Check, you just cannot change radio version afterwards, but on newer version of X01HT it's 1.46 radio, so it's quite ok I think.

3.Compile again but
IPL.nb; SPL.nd and RAdio rom use extracted from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
4. PrimarySplash.nb ; SecondarySplash.nb ; windows(OS) i take the orginal JASJAM rom
5.ExtRom i take from extracted from the orginal rom (RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10) ----> and this is my mistake.
I test with ExtRom from JASJAM ----> it work.great!
So i just take all except IPL.nb ; SPL.nb and Radio rom ---> extract from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
After that the Compile file copy to folder that u extract JASJAM rom but delete the HERMIMG_CDL_1.31.305.2_SHIP.nbh file.
5.conect your softbank.
copy SSPL-HERM.exe to your Softbank then run it(from your PDA off course)
note : If screen USIM show always just reset it,after desktop show up,in 10 sec before USIM screen,open explorer then run it.
U'll see 3 color background (i think u know it)
6.flash it.
7.Just follow the instruction,but when it ask to choice an operator region,i just cancel it.(i did'nt tried if i choice it.i think i dont need it)
After that enjoy it.
but the problem is u cant use 3G

Not sure if you still have the problem. I just got my x01ht Hermes yesterday and I worked on it today to unlock it. I used pof's (THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH) unlocker v3 but still USIM showed then later put my t-mobile sim and re-ran the unlock software but after 10 sec I still got the USIM message. I moved SB_USIM.cab to the phone and ran it before the USIM message came but nothing seemed to change. But I could then use my sim and receive calls so I flashed the PIMPING IS BACK v3 ROM by jasjammin and it now works perfectly and no more USIM. I had an old x01ht but cracked the screen so bought this one. Let me know if you need more information or have questions. Thank You,

3.Compile again but
IPL.nb; SPL.nd and RAdio rom use extracted from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
4. PrimarySplash.nb ; SecondarySplash.nb ; windows(OS) i take the orginal JASJAM rom
5.ExtRom i take from extracted from the orginal rom (RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10) ----> and this is my mistake.
I test with ExtRom from JASJAM ----> it work.great!
So i just take all except IPL.nb ; SPL.nb and Radio rom ---> extract from HermesUnlocker_v3a.nbh
After that the Compile file copy to folder that u extract JASJAM rom but delete the HERMIMG_CDL_1.31.305.2_SHIP.nbh file.
5.conect your softbank.
copy SSPL-HERM.exe to your Softbank then run it(from your PDA off course)
note : If screen USIM show always just reset it,after desktop show up,in 10 sec before USIM screen,open explorer then run it.
U'll see 3 color background (i think u know it)
6.flash it.
7.Just follow the instruction,but when it ask to choice an operator region,i just cancel it.(i did'nt tried if i choice it.i think i dont need it)
After that enjoy it.
but the problem is u cant use 3G

This is a very old thread and I beg your pardon for bumping it, but I am looking for a thread which can help me solve my problem for like 15 hours now and this is the closest answer I got. My issue is similar to this, only mine is X05ht or the Touch Pro device. Similar Softbank carrier and yes similar USIM message issue.
Anyone can help me point to the right direction of solving my issue like the threadmaker solved hers/his on this thread? Please?

But now, when it starts up, it shows the wizard love splash screen, or image.
Is there a way to change it?
I would like to put back the O2 image. (i already found a O2 nfh file, but no tool to update it on my device)
can someone help ?

here it is.....
download a new ROM (does not matter which one you pick) and then....
copy/paste O2 nfh file in the folder with the RUU.
... ok now "flash" and the screen should be there

is your wizard HARDSPL? or softspl?

only, your update tool didn't work.
I just copy the file nk.nbf to my update tool, and now it is done, i have O2 splashscreen again.
