$12.49 wireless USB keyboard that plugs right in and works with the G Tab (using the CyanogenMod6.1 Beta 4, not sure about others - but I bet it probably works with all of them).
I saw it last night while we were out shopping, and just had to buy/try it. Worked like a charm right away without any tweaking required. Now I laugh that adding the keyboard makes it look like a very non-ergonomic small laptop, but hey - it was fun to see it work!

Anything I see with a USB connector I connect to my gtab just to see what the gtab does with it and I can say the mouse works, but there is no cursor on the screen. If you scroll up to the title bar and click randomly you will eventually hit something but there is no actual cursor.
I tried mouse with tnt lite and didnt notice anything, but with zpad's most recent rom you do get a cursor, its pretty neat. I'm hoping a combo bluetooth mouse and keyboard will funtion but unfrtunately dont have access to any at the moment.
LOL - I didn't even put the batteries in the mouse. (And yes, even at that cheapo price - the set did come with batteries. )
I'll have to try it tomorrow just to see.

I Tried Plugging in my keyboard which has usb slots built in to it. The keyboard and mouse both worked on Cm6.1b4. the mouse has a curser and works just like your finger would so a little differently then when you use a mouse on a pc. the curser is a little choppy lookin though.
Wonder if there's any way to get mouse functionality into TnT-Lite...

I am able to use the wireless keyboard that came with my PC...it is not a bluetooth - I think it is what you call a RF Keyboard - no pairing required. I just stuck the tiny mini-usb dongle thing in and it worked perfectly. I tried the RF mouse, but I didn't see a cursor, nor did I notice anything happening when I was randomly clicking.
So, +1 on trying to add mouse support to TNT LITE.

I just bought this keyboard from frys for $39 for my media center pc. It has a built in scrolling track pad on the top right. it is about the same length as the gtab. when i plug it into the gtab, keys work but mouse does not. my gtab is still in stock form so mouse may work with all the great roms here.
If you don't have frys around, amazon still have it for $36. just search for hp mini wireless keyboard. there are two type one has a track ball and the one i have has a mouse sensor-like pad.
Mouse cursor isn't enabled on many roms. The only one I know of for gTabs is CyangogenMod.
good to know. maybe i'll try CyangogenMod when i'm brave enough.
I can also confirm that the mouse works on Vegan Beta 2. I was using it last night to play Angry Birds...

That is absolutely CRAZY... I had the same keyboard in my hand yesterday then put it back and thought I'd hold off only to have 'non-buyers' remorse later. Of all the smaller keyboards that one looked the nicest and had the mini usb connector so it doesn't stick out too much.

I was hesitant to buy it too, until I realize it uses AA batteries. I have so much of those lying around.
For those interested, the keyboard has a slight angle where the batteries are held at the top, but the rest of the keyboard are like 2-3 mm thhttp://media.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon9.gifin. Receiver is tiny and can be stored away at the battery compartment.

I bought this for websurfing on my Wii and never even opened the box. Decided to try it out yesterday on the G-Tab and it rocks.
You can grab one from amazon for 20.00
Usb attachment stores in the back of the keyboard which is nice. Uses 2 AA batteries.
No mouse pad or pointer built in but as a keyboard its great.
Wondering if it can connect through bluetooth like a Wiimote as it has that option. If someone figures that out please let me know. Connecting it through bluetooth would be even cooler than wireless usb!

Try cycling the battery, i.e. run the tablet until it drops, charge it to green+30 minutes, then do it again. Should be ok then. (BTW, it took me over two days to discharge the battery in my gtab, but if you play Angry Birds, you might be able to do it in a day. ).

-Check the review with pic of the HP micro u10g wireless keyboard at bettertoysthanbatman dot com. Works great with my gtab running cyanogen 7.0.0 beta 05. Exact same width as gtab.

Cycling the battery didn't work for me. Tried wiping battery data w/CWM. Worked for a while (got to 100%) more often than not but have not really noticed any depreciable run time loss. Using vegan beta1. HTH

Bought the hp mini wireless keyboard and it works great. The keyboard is simple, stylish, and feels solid. It is about the same length as the gtab and about 4" deep. This keyboard would also be great for an HTPC as well as it has an integrated mouse. The mouse doesn't do anything on the gtab however.
Some of the function keys on the keyboard actually do stuff to the gtab like volume up and down, and screen lock. I mostly plan to use the keyboard in meetings if I have to take notes.
Bought it at Staples in Canada for $40.

Depends what rom your running. Vegan shows a mouse cursor and includes various shortcut buttons (home = fn+home button, esc = back, windows button= options)
I use a mini-usb GearHead keyboard with a multi-touch touchpad. I've tried it with a couple TnT varients and now with VEGAn 5.1.1 and it works great and the touchpad works for pinch-to-zoom as well. It shows up as a crosshair (not an arrow style cursor).
My only complaint about this keyboard is that it doesn't have a "shift" key on the right side.
I wonder if HP multimedia is still available?

I was told there was a thread about this, but the only one I found was at transformerforums.com
Anyways, a new Prime and completely functional with decent WiFi and no screen problems. But the keyboard does not work on the dock, nor does the touchpad. Some have said that top row of keys work and others don't, but not even these work on mine.
I was also told to charge it fully first, but that made no difference.
It does not work after ICS and firmware update either.
Charging however works and Prime can detect the dock.
I will return it on Monday, but wondered if maybe there is something I could try or if it is a settings problem or of someone else suffers from the same thing.
Did you take the rubber plugs out?

Cheers! My problem is different though. Keyboard never works, top row does not work, touchpad either. I think it's quality control issue, disconnected someplace. Input settings make no difference.
Weird is that it is charging and detects it though.

Perhaps the connector inside the dock is loose, if you can open the dock its probably an easy fix. But If I were you I'd just return it and order a new one. I can live without the dock, but not without the tablet.
Same problem here - when charging put the dock on and off some times and it will work upon You take it off of wall charger.
With microHDMI-out it also seems to work better, but then not every time. With battery use maybe in 10% of time.
Same here.... the dock decides to work at will and so far, the only keys working have been the top row. None of the other keys have shown any interest to work yet. I have done several factory resets, updated to ICS (manual of course as my tablet has the serial number unknown issue which is a different kind of pain in the ass). Frankly, I am starting to hate ASUS. The only thing that is keeping me from returning it is the fact that it looks so sleek and beautiful both with and wothout dock. Wonder, how long will I resist from returning it though
Do you guys have the Asus keyboard as your default on-screen keyboard? Mine worked with thumb keyboard as the default then all the sudden one day nothing but the top row worked.
I remember a message saying to ensure the default on-screen keyboard was Asus so i changed it and then everything starting working great again. Not sure if just coincidence or not but thought I'd share...

As a regular trackball user on desktops, I've been looking for a Bluetooth one to go with the Tablet S to give me a bit more precision for tasks like text editing. Unfortunately apart from one very hard to source and expensive Mac targeted device my search has been fruitless.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered a mouse and would just like to recommend Dell's mini 5 button Bluetooth travel mouse.
It's length is just under half the screen height of the Tablet and is black/silver, so slightly smaller than a regular mouse and matches the tablet well. Using 2 AA batteries it paired straight away and only requires about an inch of movement for the pointer to traverse the whole screen. It also wakes the tablet up on movement. Scroll wheel works but the browser back & forward and right mouse button don't. If anyone has any tips for an app that would allow for these buttons that would be great but otherwise picked up for less than £20 I'm a happy bunny.

Not sure I'm afraid, the on screen keyboard is good enough for my young slender fingers.
If it's a multiple bluetooth device issue I'll try it out with my PS3 controller tonight and see if both work together.

Well there's no problems talking to 2 bluetooth devices at the same time. But can't vouch for a keyboard I'm afraid.
I have several Q1Us from when UMPCs were being produced and one of the accessories that i still get use from is the very slim usb keyboard that was meant to go into the portfolio case for these units.
I decided to try plugging it into the USB OTG adapter and found it works great! I especially like that when i have to resort to a physical keyboard, the trackpoint makes it so i can control the cursor without lifting my hands from the keys like i would need to control a mouse or touch the screen.
I have not been able to find a wireless keyboard skinnier than this thing with the added bonus of a built-in pointer. The model number is Samsung AA-SK0TKBD/US.
Any ideas on where to buy one of these?

yeah, i looked around and all the sources that sold them before say unavailable w/ no mention of stock replenishment (no surprise since it's so old now). Acid123 is right that you'll see them pop up on eBay every once in a while. When i stopped using my Q1U as much I'd still carry that keyboard around because it's so damn useful and slim.
Somebody would make some money if they just made a slim keyboard that had the same format w/ the pointing nub in the middle (i don't care if usb/bt). Would be nice if there was also the Android specific softkeys built-in like back/home/menu/search.
This one is worth mentioning. Mine has been sleeping for a while in a "PC reparing kit".
The original pouch can be useful -even if you own a larger tab- for many purposes, including travelling, and in a "crossed legs sofa position.
Customizing the original umpc craddle to make it less thick should be easy.
The KB is good but sometimes misses keys typing too fast. Hold a letter and it will display accentuation options depending on your layout.
The mini mouse is ok but can't be used for drawing for ex. Mine tends to change direction if i bend it too much. By reflex I still use the tabs touchscreen depending the situation.
Num/caps lock lits. Fn/volume+,-,mute works. copy/paste is a pleasure ctrl/c, v or x works. Esc key acts as "escape, for ex it can show off the screen KB.
USB connection won't draw battery as bluetooth so you won't bother keeping it conneted all day long on your desk.
Hey we found the same use for these! I also used it to fill in as a super portable kb/mouse combo in my pc repair kit.
Regrettably, I never picked up the portfolio case when I was using the Q1U. I notice you still have your trackpoint! Mine fell off and got lost at some point so i transferred the blue one that's currently on mine from another laptop.
I'm having a somewhat nonsensical issue with my keyboard dock: The keyboard does not work at all, the trackpad works perfectly, battery works, the dock port to connect to the computer works, the dock USB port supplies power (judging by the light from my optical mouse), but the tablet doesn't seem to detect anything connected to the USB port, i have not tested the dock SD slot.
I also connected a TF201 to my dock with no difference in the symptoms displayed.
Any ideas? Or am I out a dock?

Hate to be that person, but I have to exact same problem! My tablet is running Cynanogen Mod 11. It still charges and the trackpad works, but the keyboard is 100% unresponsive. Whenever I plug in the dock it asks me to choose the keyboard layout in the notifications bar as well.
It seems that a few other people have this problem, I did find another thread about this exact same problem but it was from a long time ago and all they said was for the guy to return it and get it replaced.
It just does not seem to make sense that the track pad, charging station, and USB port for file transfer and stuff would work, but not the keyboard. I thought I might have changed a setting but I just factory reset the tablet and reinstalled Cynanogen Mod 11 and it still doesn't work . If anyone can enlighten us... that would be great!

Cold-Booting doesn't fix it for me either and i'm out of warranty, so ASUS isn't gonna be much help to me either...

not sure if you have solved this yet but I had the same problems and it turned out that one of the kids had knocked the keyboard off my desk and it had loosened a connection internally within the keyboard.
I found a youtube video of how to fix it, unscrewed the back of the keyboard and carefully popped the connector back in place.
It's a bit fiddly and took me about 30 mins to do with average electronics related knowledge

Any chance of linking the Youtube video? Had the same problem for a while and pretty much just let it be but a fix would be nice

Nevermind, opened it up anyways and saw exactly the same problem. Reconnected the cable and the keyboard worked again after months of thinking it was just broken. Pretty chuffed and quite amazed, probably wouldn't have even attempted it if it wasn't for your post and this thread. Thanks for the information, very much appreciated here

Woah, I ended up buying a TF700, but i'll probably attempt this fix as soon as I have a spare minute!
