Ok thanks for no responding.

hey, I see you want to improve the performance of your phone. they may not have a rom but there are many ways to do so. on the forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050812
. Also I saw a link that says they may actually come out with a new phone all together, with Android 2.2 . Do you know if this is true. I emailed Altek, but they are taking forever to respond. There is a digidata link at the bottom of this link, under the youtube vid.
http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/03/10/alteks-14mp-android-phone-to-be-available-this-month/

Thanks but I make all tutorial in Altek Leo Section. Moreover, Altek announced that update in 2.2 or 2.3 is impossible due the processor that's why I'm searching a Custom Rom.

maybe altek leo will run android 2.3?

Ease of Use
This is, first and foremost, an Android device. At startup, it opens up to the regular menu or dashboard or whatever it’s called—_not_ the camera app. With the default camera app open, it’s works like a basic, straightforward point-and-shoot. The touchscreen is actually pretty responsive for something that feels so cheaply built, so the interface doesn’t suffer. And since it’s linked to the Android app store, users can download any photo app of their choosing, which opens up tons of possibilities. Don’t like the interface? Download a new one.
The pre-production model we saw was running Android 2.3. We’d guess that it’ll ship in April with something more like version 3.1. The latest version—4.0—would be a stretch for an in-between product like this, since most proper phones and tablets don’t even run it yet.

Altek Leo won't be upgated to android 2.3
I emailed Altek and asked about the Polaroid samrtphone which looks the same as the Alte A14 Leo. They replied that the phone has similar outline/cosmetics but the electical parts are different - the phone will stay with 2.1

upgrade to 2.2
I also checked out the Polaroid . The only real difference that I have seen appears to be the 16mp camera, i doubt it's a real 16mp just as the altek leo isn't a real 14mp. anyway the biggest change i think is the 512mb rom and 512 ram. that would be handy. Anyhow, after a whole bunch of research on every english forum i could find.. i got fed up. and started looking at chinese forums.. thank u google translate. apparently some dude in china upgraded to 2.2 using an htc 2.2 rom. one even claimed he got 2.3 . but thats not verified. check the link. and tell me what you think u guys. .. u might want to use google translate.

How Do I Upgrade to 2.2?
I didn't understand ho to update to 2.2.
Did they modified the HTC rom? where can I download it? How do I Install it?

no update available for the Leo
Just as the SE Satio was dropped six months after it was released, it felt like another deja vu experience with the Altek Leo. Don't get me wrong, I like the phone and it's great as a camera with its optical zoom. As for system updates, there hasn't been one in a long time, and I've noticed at the Altek website, that they haven't been developing a new product to supersede the Leo. I guess because of the brand name, not many consumers wanted to take the plunge in purchasing this relatively unknown cell phone.
When I had initially purchased this phone from an eBay seller, I had asked him about an Android update and he replied that it was not possible. So, when I read about upgrades, I was quite skeptical about it. Still, I like this phone and will keep it until it has a complete breakdown...or is dropped.
Screen protectors are few and far to find for this phone.
Polaroid should update it's video recording quality to 1080p, then people will be interested in this phone.

Upcomming ROM upgrade from HTC

2008/12/31 11:01 (EU team) I understand that some users are having difficulties with a so called lag in the usage of Tomtom and Touch Pro. HTC does not have any upgrades in order to disable the lag of updating the position to the Tomtom application. Tomtom is indeed a third party application and I would therefore recommend you to contact them to see if they have any fixes for the so called lag issue
2009/01/21 16:11 (EU team) Dear Mr. Skaryd I just wanted to get back to you in order to see if you have gotten the GPS working better. I would also like to inform you that there will be a ROM upgrade available in the near future (1.19). Please feel free to get back to us at any time if you have any further questions or queries. Kind Regards Dave Montanya HTC Europe
2009/01/22 07:57 Alexandr Skaryd Hello, i got reply from TomTom, they claim the problem is not on their side, since they and other software producers like iGo etc are getting similar messages from users all over the world. The problem persists, it could be improved with some registry hacking aparently / as claimed on web, but i didnt try those. Anyway good to hear there is a rom update on the way.
2009/01/22 09:06 (EU team) Thank you for your reply, I have personally looked around on forums etc in order to see what the root of the issue is. Some claim that a registry change or a patch to the application (tomtom) will solve the lag issues. It doesn't seem like there is a universal solution as for now. I, myself is awaiting the new ROM as well for testing with GPS software. Feel free to get back to me if you get any further info. I'll get back to you if I find a great solution. Kind Regards Dave Montanya HTC Europe
This is my correspondation with HTC support team. Aparently there is a new ROM for HTC Pro incomming, so maybe we are getting a fix for some of the bugs, maybe even the GPS fix. So lets hope someone actually WILL try the ROM when its available and inform the custom ROM users if anything was fixed.
Let's hope that your "friend" at HTC Team isn't bluffing...
Sure it would be good to see HTC doing their work as they should!
To market a device like the TP with lots of bugs and flaws is incredible...
But that's the reason foor xda-developers existance...
they promised me from november they said end of dec 2008 there will be an rom. only bluff
But... only for Pro? Diamond has the issue as well...
don't expect too much
diamond got 2.0X and probably sooner or later TP will get the same treatment (nothing major)
I amazed at how other poeple seem to be able to get HTC Europe to talk to them; they hardly ever reply to me. What's the secret?
Thanks for trying, and thanks for the info Skaryd : )
someone knows when this official ROM will arrive?
hope there'll be a german suport as well as the engligh one
greetz
Don't worry guys. I will flex my raging pectorals and they will have no choice but to fall to their knees and develop the drivers we need, lest they incur the wrath of an epic man-chest.
Or in other words, we're boned.
this sound like back in the day when the CEO/President of HTC responded to all the critics about the lag in video performance of the Kaiser. He promised something will be done to get thing right by March 08 (?). At that time, I said, I would believe it when I see it. It's never happened. So don't get your hope too high.

does he mean ROM version 1.19?
i got my TP a week ago, it has rom version 1.90.707.4 WWE
which is much later than 1.19
but displays the gps lag.
the rom date state 8/23/08
which is prior to the date HTC said they would be releasing a new one.
i'm confused!
Here is to crossing fingers and hoping that HTC has finally realized they can't be this big and popular now and have crappy working features.
we already know about the new ROM as it has already leaked:

MY GOD, people the fact that the "Fail: <reason for continuing the argument>" line was used here makes this thread worthy of closure alone.
Dont start poluting threads with this crap, keep it relevant and check sources before coming out with stupid comments.
Back ON TOPIC and keep this civil please.
End of lecture, handouts available on the way out
My mistake on the date, which apparently in DD-MM-YYYY, if you look at the last few posts, it can easily be mistaken as MM-DD-YYYY.
thanx for sharing the info ... hopefully the new release would fix some bugs

2.1 update now at the end of October

Looks like the update's been pushed back by a month
http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/09/23/update-on-updates/
But at least they list what the update will actually contain:
Xperia X10 mini and X10 mini pro:
Improved Bluetooth functionality with support for sending and receiving pictures, contacts and more
New backup and restore application with extended content back up
Automatic synchronization of your contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book
Improved ways of handling pictures, audio, text and numbers in your messages
Upgrade of the Android platform to Android platform 2.1

I hope you can turn off the facebook photo syncing - I really don't want pictures of people's cats, babies and favourite movie stars as their contact pictures when I've already picked photos for them.
I am sad
Unbelievable.
The comments on the blog page are pretty funny though!
Hundreds of people crying about never buying a SE again
To be honest the 2.1 update doesn't really do much for these phones. However it is obvious that SE didn't give too much attention to the fact that using Android meant that their timeplans would be compared against those of many other Android licensors. Also I think they underestimated that a large part of the Android community is made of geeks. They are used to selling phones to people who don't even know what an operating system is.
In reality this delay means almost nothing but it's a PR disaster.

Totally agree with you !
lol - for undemanding users, Apple have sewn up that segment of smartphone users. Maybe RIM too. Symbian.. are they smartphones/will they be around much longer?
But Windows & Android require more maintenance. As a SE owner for the last 5? years, I can attest to their serial ability to miss deadlines.
However, this is new for them, the need to sew on their interface to a constantly evolving OS. So expect more missed deadlines, and slow adoption of 2.2
But I can't say I'm surprised...
I am not an Android expert but if that GUI stuff they have done is so difficult to port from 1.6 to 2.1 then they must have taken very poor decisions when developing the software. Look at the Android Market: 95% of the applications will run on any version from 1.6 to 2.2 without even the need to recompile the code.

Actually theres a few "geeks" in the SE JAVA community side as well, that like modding their phones so it looks like its an android (and thats just for starters )
Over here I still haven't got the previous update, 1.2-whatever, so I'm not holding my breath any way
Pfff
Pfff My unbranded HTC Hero had eclair (android 2.1) installed almost a year ago. And yes also HTC had official problems with release dates for 2.1.
I,m disappointed that SE also shifts up their 2.1 update. but the lack of custom Roms (think it's SE's popularity. Wil revert me back to HTC again as soon as I buy a new phone again.
Yes this is a big disappointment. When i compare my previous HTC Windows phone, the updates were quicker, and also the custom roms made things alot more interesting. I will be buying Android again, but not from SE.
the most of other android smartphone has already 2.1 or 2.2, in december gingerbread will be realesed and so SE 2.1 will be outdated..
SE really disappointed me..

Updates were quicker?? I had 2 WM phones, a Prophet and my current X1, and NO updates were forthcoming. I was saved only by the excellent work of the cooks here.
I like my X10 Mini even with 1.6.
It runs faster and is more stable than my Galaxy S with 2.1.
Maybe we are overcrying this release delay. Our phone is not unusable, other companies are delaying even more. I have seen in the blogs people crying like they have an non-usable phone. The only real problem is the Sim issue that in some countries they have adresses in some others not.
In reality our community want just to change firmware and this is why we are here in xda.
I am also annoyed, I am also willing to update my firmware every month...but for this we need the support of our chefs.
By the way i understand that a SW planning can deviate; in our company we have just postponed a release by one month.
I agree that the communication was bad, they could even have released an interim version for us the geek.
This is just MHO
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
What features are you missing right now? I think the x10 can do all i need it too with 1.6.
Hello XDA community!
My account is new but I have viewed this forum up to 2 weeks by now. Also I'm a new owner of X10 mini. And I think it is almost great phone, nice camera, good video quality for little phone and I can make calls and sms. Compared to my old E51 this phone rocks! To me those 2.1's and 1.6's are just a numbers. I can do everything I want to do and I don't miss anything. No lag etc. I don't get why, just why are people flaming SE...Yes I know it was a mistake to promise something what they can't to. Well I'm also waiting for update, but I'm not so curious about it.
Maybe my english is not so good as it should be but I think that you understand my text.

I'm not from SE. I'm just regular phone user not a Android "geek". Got it ?
you having wrong phone in your hand.....Smart phone is not only for call,sms,camera..its more than that.

Developing an Android ROM for the HTC Mozart.

Hi.
This is my first post on xda, and I am hoping to learn a lot whilst I am here.
I am not expecting any help here, but there has been small hype about getting android onto this phone. And I understand that you may be critical about noobs like me expecting an easy fix from you.
I appreciate that the idea makes no sense from many perspectives, this is mine.
I purchased the windows 7 phone 3 months ago, I was a complete idiot and fell for the sales pitch, the salesman promised me the earth, he said I would be able to WiFi Tether on the next update, he told me it would be better then the android evo 4 that I wanted.
As you are probably aware, I am a complete fool. I have however spent many hours on the phone with a certain mobile phone outlett, and my provider, neither will help. And I am stuck with the phone till 2013.
The phone's buyback price has gone down to 1/3rd what it was on the day I bought the phone.
I have now made it my mission to get this phone to run android. I feel so strongly I may even remove the windows logo from the bottom of my touch-screen.
I have already researched some, and expect days more research before I'll be able to do, whatever it is I need to do.
I am and will be keeping a log, of all my research, and hopefully can use what I learn to help people out later on.
So....
Any comments, or questions or support?
CleverNoob
I have picked up a few things. And therefore want to clarify,
I don't want to dual boot the 2 OS's, I want to REMOVE windows 7 and replace it with Android.
From what I gather this means I need to develop an android ROM to work with the mozart, and then Flash it to the phone...?
So my logical mind tells me to look for the android ROM that works on the most similar spec phone.
I am however aware that the firmware or something is different in the mozart, from the HD7 and does not allow for certain android commands to work, therefore the ROM (gingerbread?) used on the HD7 will not be remotely compatible with the HD7?
It seems that there may be a few options for the actual flashing of the ROM already available... So I am going to concentrate on learning more about ROM development now.
If anyone wants to correct me, point me in the right direction, or hurl abuse at me... feel free to do so
I do not know all that much about ROM development.
What about drivers though? Sure it is fine for the chipset as there are Android devices with the same chipset (CPU and GPU)... Although the WiFi, bluetooth, radio etc. I guess it's built into the SoC?
Drivers for the screen, capacitive buttons, camera etc?
I think if you look around, you should be able to find a phone similar to htc mozart and the name which comes to my mind is Nexus one and htc desire...
Although it depends on you that you extract drivers from the OS of both of those android based phones then extract drivers from your mozart and compare if they have same chipset....
I really wonder if it's possible to do all this virtually instead of physically installing OSes on phones for development purposes.
You didnt give up did ya mate!
All of the Australia Telstra Community who got Conned into buying the Mozart over an iPhone due to This Service Provider not having a Contract with Apple are 'root'ing for your Success
just checking if i got it right...
you want android in the mozart just to enable wifi tethering.
well, FYI, its been done and done bro, just unlock your device and install any of the excellent custom ROMs here. my notebook is tethered to my mozart right now.
but if you want to further explore the capabilities of the hardware, no worries- many good samaritans are already doing that. explore the development forums here and thy shall learn!
take care!
Tethering is working now, even with Telstra and no unlocking (7720).
This is my first post too! I was about to post something like yours. I have an HTC Mozart too and I want to install an Android ROM on it though my reasons are different.
As a software developer I have no experience about ROM development but I'm very interested.
So what did you do until now? Any success?

Go to toshiba oficial facebook and ask for 3.2 (or 4.0) android update every one

Hey i think we all togheter can make the diference and complain to toshiba about the device anda all togheter ask for a 3.2 or 4.0 update what do you think?
I allready made my complain please help me http://www.facebook.com/toshibamultimedia
That's a good idea. But how will you realize that?
What do you mean with "realize that"? Go to their facebookpage, post your want on their Wall and hope the best. That's all you can do. Or start a petition We have very good guys here that can and it seems also that they will "produce" a working port of ICS but a official rom which "only" have to be rooted would be the greatest thing... Sadly i think it will nothing come that way.... . But it's worth a try and when we don't try it we never find out if it can work! So do it
Done, but it will be useless... Toshiba is a sh***y company.
we have to try!
I'have also posted a message for what it is worth.
I don't think they will bother (they even seem to commercially deny the decice even exists). The hardware itself might have bugs and quality issues, but it is quite capable running newer software (new tablets are now coming out with the same or even slower processor).
The stock firmware is actually quite bad compared to the 2.3 i'm using right now, but i will only upgrade to ics if all hardware drivers work.
Added mine, bet they dont even read it !
Happy new year all
they reply to me saing that is google fault not his fault loool toshiba s++ks!
I don't think Toshiba values the folio internally anymore so I don't see it getting any updates. We can try but there's little money in it for them... Currently it's nopy's and Jon2555's ports that are the best hope.
I think every Custom rom is much better than Toshibas Roms,...
I have ask it on the facebook page. There are a lot of peoples how ask it . I hope they will do that.
Agree with it
I have Toshiba again asked for an update for the folio 100. The AT200, AT300 and maybe the at100 will have an android 4.1 update. Will everybody asked again for an update too android 3, 4 or 4.1 for the folio.
that's what i have post:
Why would you update the tablets AT200 and AT300 and maybe AT100 too android 4.1 and not folio 100? People who have buy a folio 100 are abandoned from the purchase. Why you don't give this device an update to android 3, 4 or 4.1 ??
go to https://www.facebook.com/toshibamultimedia and like it or write also a comment.
hmm do not know, why they should update an old device?
They want to sell the new tablets,...
Ok, I wrote my post. I don't believe they will even care, but hope dies last.

Samsung Omnia i900, a Player Addict need a ROM...

Hello to all the XDA community. Before starting, I want to clarify that I am French, so I apologize for the possibly questionable translation by Google Translate.
As indicated in the title, my request concerns a very old smartphone model: the Samsung Omnia i900, or Player Addict in France. I come to you with a very specific request and, even if I have few illusions, I hope that someone can help me...
As the title of this file indicates, this is a Samsung Omnia i900 (Player Addict). At the time of the next Samsung S22, and despite its age, I am still using a copy that is almost 13 years old this year (I am 16) and which, as surprising as it may seem, still works wonderfully. I mention in passing that he took a little dip in the bathtub 10 years ago, but it's only a distant memory since he recovered on his own. I mainly use it as an MP3 player, the Web is closing itself more and more to it, but I'm so attached to it that I've embarked on a real restoration campaign, just to "update" it, if 'you can update an obsolete operating system… I then discovered XDA Developers, and, thanks to you, the little smartphone has almost come back to life. Thanks to some old forum files, I unlocked it, installed Net Compact Framework 3.5, experimented with SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, changed some registry values (changed logo on startup), etc… In addition, I also modernized thanks to the Wayback Machine where I was able to download the latest version of Google Maps and Opera Mobile 10. Finally, I replaced the touch screen myself and I am currently waiting for a new "body", making it an almost new laptop. But now, I want to go to the next step, and that's the subject of this file: the ROM.
After this slight update, I came up with the idea of flashing my current ROM for a more recent ROM. The smartphone was indeed purchased from SFR, and therefore runs on the operator ROM. I therefore want to replace it with the latest French ROM without an operator, in order to fully exploit it. Moreover, it has never been updated, therefore never flashed, which implies the presence of bugs which could have been modified afterwards. Thanks to your forum, I pretty much know how to do it, and am fully aware that wrong flashing leads to bricking, and flashing also leads to loss of all data. It's a risk I'm willing to take. I only miss one thing: the precious ROM. However, for 10 years, the various links and sites have disappeared, and even a small turn on the Wayback Machine does not give blazing results at first sight. And when it comes to finding a French version…
It is for this reason that I am appealing to you today. I have been able to know, by exploring your old files, that there have been a lot of custom ROMs on this forum, and, given all the advice you have given, I think you are the most able to help me. to help. So, I'm looking for a ROM for Samsung Omnia i900 (aka Player Addict), in French, and official. Official, for the version under WM 6.1 anyway. On the other hand, I would also be tempted by a custom ROM for WM 6.5. I know the OS was never "officially" released on the Omnia i900, but I know many of you have made your own ROMs to accommodate it. I particularly like the Titanium Today, and the more finger-friendly use. Does anyone among you have in their old hard drives, in their archives, an official French ROM under WM 6.1, or a custom ROM for WM 6.5? I specify that if it is WM 6.5, I would need the widgets and the Samsung Today. I may be difficult, but I would like to put a newer system (especially not Android, I have my Galaxy S5 for that), while keeping the features originally present. Regarding flashing, having a computer running Windows 11, would a possible flashing be possible? I thought I heard flashing could go wrong if it wasn't Windows XP...
I apologize again for disturbing, I suspect that this request is very particular, given the age of the device, but I keep the hope that someone will still have at home the precious Grail that will allow me to modernize once and for all my venerable device.
For information, my Omnia runs under the XHIB3/AEIB2 ROM (I think I read the right line…), and this is the 16 Go version.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Nicolas
PS: This is my first time writing on a forum, so I apologize if I missed any steps when posting this file… I'm only a high school student, not a developer, so I don't know not if I'm really allowed to post on your forum...
