At this point your aren't able to change the transparent bar led color.
Maybe it's not possible at all via a software mod, actually personally I find it great as is

As of this site....Xperia NXT specifications
...it's only the Xperia U that has a colour Illuminating lightbar. So i doubt you can give it colour tru software. But maybe...

I hope so, it would be great..

That feature is exclusive to the Xperia U and sets it apart from the XP and XS, so it's unlikely the XS will have this in the future but not impossible.

is it only software ? if yes the developers will definitely find a way around to get the script from the xperia U
but if it's hardware issue that would be impossible

It looks like the illumination is via smds (surface mounted diodes)
Purely a guess here going on the light spread.
SMD's are one colour, so unless they have alternative colours along side them. White is the only colour available to the XPS.
Unless of course you wish to take your shiny new toy to bits and solder in some alternative colour??? lol
LED's like those on the Notification light differ because the can have several colour incorporated into one LED. Usually the Primary colour Red, Yellow, Blue. Combinations can make different shades and colours.

The only real way to test this is importing the code to change the colour from Xperia U, and putting it into Xperias's S O.S. That'd force it to change the colour, or behave unexpectdly/differently.
If anyone can find any hardware inspection/manual from Xperia S and Xperia U, probably it'll also be a definitive solution for this question (this was also asked on Xperia's S Information thread), since then it'll be possible to see if there's the same lightning module as on the Xperia U, or if it's a different one.
I'm also hoping we have the same light module as Xperia U.

over here in singapore, there's someone who actually change the LED on the strip to different colour...

I don't think this is possible. I'm pretty sure it's a white LED ring only.
Hardware hack. Doesn't explain exactly how, i just did a quick search maybe more info with a broader one.
Not something I would try though.

Color of call and power buttons (TMOUS HD2)

My phone and power button are currently red and green....with the middle 3 buttons white.
I've seen pics / videos online where all 5 buttons are either white or blue. How can I do this? Is there a guide anywhere or a thread on this?
I've searched but I'm unable to find it.

[q] sgs2 vs sgs grey comparasion

Hi guys,
Can please somebody test for me if have similar issue as me...
I noticed that the grey on SGS2 suffers a lot in quality... more visible on reduced light.
I did create a file in Photoshop with fixed grey value.. as you can see from the screenshot attached sgs2 goes more magenta instead of grey+ plus there is a lot of noise too around this value R 100 G 100 B 100
As far as i know the grey is the most difficult color to display because needs to use all 3 leds in the same time...
Anyhow pls let me know if u also have distorted results as me!
Thank you
Yeah, my icons definitely look darker and has a redder tint to them side by side with the SGS. I've been informed that it has to do with Gingerbread as well, about how Gingerbread hosed up the colors.
I have exactly the same problem. All greys look pink / magenta. I am right now trying to replace my unit because of it.

Why replace it? It's not a fault with the phone. Your next unit will be exactly the same.
Mine looks grey. No pink tint

Except it isn't, as I don't suffer from it at all regardless of the brightness and background effect.
same here: no pink/magenta on the testpic. looks exactly the same as with my computer monitor.
that is very sad news, seems i need to change my device....
Carnt open that file ..
How do i test?.

the file test it is in a zip file, you need winzip or winrar to extract the file, after that you can copy to your device and view it...
Also, i made the test on another sgs2 device and they grey is as is supposed to be...
Do we think is a software or hardware problem this is the question?

I hate to say it but I suspect it's a hardware fault with some individual panels, although whether Samsung would view it as a fault is another matter. These screens are incredibly difficult to make and almost impossible to make every one identically, so it's inevitable some will be less than perfect even if that imperfection is only noticeable in certain circumstances (a grey screen in this case). There is another thread on here with someone having a yellowish hue line down the left of their screen when the screen is a certain colour -- another example of a similar issue.
Found it. Check the post out.

if that is the case, a lot of devices will go back... first sgs software was horrible, now sgs2 hardware? damn it samgung u`ve done it again!
Yep, nothing wrong with mine either using that greyscale test image.
Imagine its a bad batch of SGS2's out there somewhere.
Mine is grey, like the SGS pic in the Op I know what teh pink looks like as my Desire AMOLED version was pinked

Yellow tint quick fix

For everyone experiencing the yellow tint issue who either don't want to or can't service their handset for whatever reason, try this as a temporary measure. Works for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yuki.ochi.privacyfilter.free
The yellow tint doesn't bother me enough to want to send it in but the tint sometimes becomes distracting enough to irritate me. Especially so when reading off the browser or an ebook reader. This app allows me to apply a filter to the screen and I've managed to adjust the color to a point where the tint becomes barely visible. The link is to the free version but there's an ad free version as well. Just play with the settings and see what works for you. I'd expect everyone experiencing the issue to require different settings to mask the imperfections.
Hope this helps some of you out there.

The .73 firmware should fix the screen color temperature issue. They made it less warm in terms of color.
Yup. I saw your mention on the other thread but I'm already on. 73 and it's still yellow. Good to know that Sony's taking measures though.

Actually, I am noticing the yellow tint since I installed .73..
What regiion .73 do you have?
One of trickes I use that my friend here told me is massaging that part of the screen and yellow tint goes away. I have found this to be temporary but works better than the rest.

Yeah, I just updated mine to .73 too, color still looks the same. Don't see a difference in temp. It was from Asia's firmware note. Anyone tried the SG? I'm on US firmware, so nothing from here. I do see a much better response on the buttons though. Mine had a little lag before, but now it's instant.

Well I know where to look at and how to test lol several times had that one over 40 degrees Celsius
So, I think you guys are much more lucky than me. I am in Viet Nam, and I bought XPS in Hong Kong. Now I saw yellow tints but can't go to Hong Kong to change it nor I think Sony Viet Nam would repair it for me. That's bored of such a big company like Sony. It's their fault of manufacture and lot of people have the same issue, they should replace or repair it with global warranty not only specific region though

Hi. I think screen shots won't be necessary as my settings are pretty straightforward. Under "color", I set all 3 bars close to the left so I get a dark gray. For "alpha", my bar is on the left - somewhere between a third or a quarter of the way. FYI, I keep the filter on all the time. My (system) screen brightness is set to about 77 when I'm outdoors.
Do play around with the levels till you're satisfied though. I don't think a one-size-fits-all configuration is possible.

LED notification questions

Any details on this would be good. Is it going to be similar to g nexus notification led which has to be the best, you can choise different colours etc?
Says RGB LED notification which suggests to me it can produce almost any colour.
That's brilliant, its a small feature but essential inmho. Not much info about this feature so thanks for sharing this.
I have found it kinda surprising that no on has touched on the led notifacations in reviews yet. The question in my mind isn't just is it an umlimited color palatte but also does it work before you pickup the handset? On the N1 you could see across the room that you had an email, text, etc. and this is what I'm hoping for with this phone. It has little point if you have to pick up the phone to light the led.

I didn't know some phones worked like that? I mean that you have to pick the phone up in order for the LED to light up... Which phones work like that? That sounds like a really dumb thing for a phone to do! The point of a notification LED is after all that you should be able to see the notifications without having to pick the phone up to check it, no?
I'm hoping it's like the Blackberrys. I miss BerryBuzz, had the option to set multiple colours to multiple events.
If its anything like nexus galaxy I will happy. Mind you had to root device only then was able to use the different colours.
