Hi guys, i have a question. How do i go about making my battery drain equal to my previous Iphone 4? Install stock roms/custom roms? And do i have to root first to flash it?

Original S3 rom battery drain is way better than iphone4. Why try to downgrade it to equal Iphone 4?

You need to have at least 3 charge cycles before you can experience the difference.

Yes when I first got my s3 the battery was pretty bad compared to iPhone 4. But do the cycles and find a good rom and it's a whole nother world. I suggest read a lot here and watch YouTube vids

How about you enjoy the phone and learn before you go rooting and flashing...

Depends on what all you have activated and what all is running in the background. Switch off gps, auto sync, auto sync is the main cause of battery drain, also turn off wifi and 3g data when not in use, standby time on idle should be 1% drain in 2-3 hours as per the latest firmware LG8, im getting full day battery with normal usage with screen time of 4-5 hours...

Your rom is fine... Just use it for couple of days and you will see the difference. By the way, turn off gps if not in use and turn off NFC. Also turn off any gesture you don't use at all.
Enjoy your phone.

I have some queries.. Say if i install omega rom, and i want to rma the set, touch wood, Do i use triangleaway first, to rid of the flash counter, and then flash back the stock official samsung firmware? Any steps i need to take other than these steps?
And another question, does omega use a custom kernel to improve battery life?

If you don't know if you need it or not, then the short answer is: no, you don't need it.
Read, read, read, then read some more, then Google what you read but didn't understand. Then if you think you need it, read the stickies here to learn how to install it.

Put it this way: if you're happily running with Windows7 and could care less about Windows8, then you don't need even think about the 8.
Apply that to Android.
Ics 4 has a lot better batery life.

Battery life is subjective. Its really more relative to whatever extra apps and crap u stick on that can affect it. If u know what yer doing with tweaking kernel stuff (undervolting, underclocking, etc.) U can get great battery life on most ROMS. GB 2.3.4 firmware was awesome for me in regard to battery life. To each their own I suppose.

Should I change my ROM to CM or should I keep the default one?

I want to avoid the sudden death because I don't have warranty for this phone (at least not in my country). Also do you think the current default ROM is slow?
I think that samsung roms are slow...they have butter and smoothness but the lags and delays are really annoying.I never tried a cm/aokp/aosp rom on this phone but I think I will.

Sudden death is fixed in the latest Firmwares. If You want an aosp look but full features of stock rom I recommend Sotmax Rom it allows an aosp skin over Samsung framework if selected in aroma. It is also buttery smooth with minimal lags. been using it a while now and the phone is faultless... at least until I smashed my screen anyway lol

They didn't confirm it. But all latest official and custom roms contain the supposed fix so it's completely up to you.

GT-I9300 4.3 update? Yes or no ?

Hey guys,
What's your experience with 4.3 update ? It seems like a lot of people are complaining about it.
Is it a go or should i stay with 4.0.4?
I want to update to 4.3 only because of buttery-smooth performance that Google claims it to be after the update
I know that first OTA update was a complete dissaster but after that Samsung released a fix for it, so is it really fixed with that new update or it's still buggy ?
So what's your opinion ? Should i update or stay on 4.0.4 or perhaps wait for 4.4?
I hope 4.4 will have much less problems
Thanks in advance,
Slim Shady
