Team Members: Stelios97, Daveee10
Features:
Forked from nAa-ics-04 (all ICS features are already in there)
Built with linaro-4.7.1 toolchain
JBMini Recovery
Custom mtd partitioning scheme suitable for JB
Tracing support for JB
pmem: bring up2date with CAF 2.6.38
genlock/kgsl fixes
Triple buffering support for msm framebuffer
Much more RAM for improved multitasking experience (185MB)
Resized partitions (System:261MB, Data:191,8MB, Cache: 5MB, Recovery: 10MB)
Two version now: One with Single (JBMini Project) recovery and One with Dual (JBMini Project and TWRP) recovery
From v06 ready for use every JellyBean ROM like MiniCM
Install Instructions:
Unlock your bootloader
Download the kernel ftf file and move it to Flashtool\firmwares
Flash the kernel via Flashtool
(First time only) Get into recovery and format /system /cache and /data manually
For dual recovery version:
In this version the Aroma FileManager from JBMini Recovery doesn't work because I needed to delete that. With that the kernel image is now too big, so the kernel don't flashable... In the future this will be fixed with a little trick (The file manager included the rom) or only using the TWRP recovery if it's stable...
Enter to JBMini Recovery: press back button
Enter to TeamWin Recovery: tap the screen

Try to do not ask for ETAs
Just let them some time because they are hard working, Kernel/Rom at the same time is a lot of time consuming.
Good luck to you guys

I said at all times.
@cnc-rock
"What kind of logic is that? You need proof to say that something works or not AFAIK.
First of, I have my concerns if JB is faster from ICS for our devices. Having tested it I can say it is not (at least - not as is) and this is NOT ONLY my personal opinion.
You should always compare under the same circumstances: - strip ICS to the bare mimimum, as your JB rom is, and compare them using the same benchmarks or user actions. Having tested various solutions and approaches since the 4.1 code was merged in CM, benchmark scores are much poorer and UI feels pretty much the same if not worse.
Having talked with some people from the CM team I can tell you this is the case for msm7x27 (if not more archs too).
Regarding project butter...
This is a combination of software solutions developed by *google* for the top class phones that *google* has (yet):
1) Touchscreen driver which throttles the cpu on touch (this might be a kernel or user-space thing)
2) Triple buffering for sustaining 60 fps
3) Vsync
On the msm7x27 platform what of these has a chance of working is 1), if its done in user space (haven't grepped the code yet in order to be sure that its done in user space)
For 2), out hardware is not capable of that - forget it
For 3), the kernel you are using has vsync disabled in order to improve performance. This is a common hack used across older qcom devices to get their ui to an acceptable level for ICS. With vsync on, UI is a lot more sluggish both in ICS and in JB.
I don't usually go ranting in other people's threads unless there's something seriously wrong being claimed.
Good luck with your project."
This is what naa said about project butter.

see change log
-Enabled vsync
-Enabled tripple buffering
and he said that rom runs on 60 fps ... so we have the project butter except the touch responsiveness part..... i am just confused.... just asking....

Project Butter never working on this device...

Excuse me, does this kernel works with MiniCM 4.1.1 ?

Intro
I've been working with alfsamsung for a while now, and together, we managed to port the CWM-Touchrecovery from Napstar to the Xperia X8 (both for cypress and synaptics)
alfsamsung still handels the developemnt, i will handle the releasing of the cm7-version, and maybe a little bit developement, I'm still learning it
What does cm7 version mean ?
so alfs kernel is generally for gingerDX and gingerDX is build from the cm hero sources, but since the x8 has own sources most roms are from build from them.
so the difference between(regarding wifi) that hero uses wlan(.ko) and x8 uses tiwlan(.ko), so wifi will not work
now with two different versions it's not a problem
anymore just take the kernel that fits your rom(gingerdx or cm7)
LibSensorPatch needs to be flashed on MiniCm and roms based on MiniCm
if your proximity sensor doesnt work you can try flashing it, it should solve it
What's new
V09c - 19.12.2012 - 20:41(GMT+1)
- read the changes in alfs changelog
and just for notice, alfsamsung is the great dev here
V09a - 13.07.2012 - 17:23(GMT+1)
- usb connection fixed, thank alfsamsung for the fast update and that he sent me the kernel so i can upload it
i don't have time to build it myself since i'm getting prepared for 3 weeks holidays
V09 - 11.07.2012 - 19:13(GMT+1)
- nothing new for the cm7 version, check alfsamsung's post for the changelog
- be sure to use the newest update.zip patch form alfsamsung's post
and dont forget the LibSensorPatch down here
V08a - 27.03.2012 - 21:13(GMT+1)
- added Eduroam support
- a small update to ext4
- fix for MiniCM7 proximity sensor with old libs of MiniCM7, check attachments
flash it with CWM and have a nice week
This time I made it with NO_FSP_CAP, the other versions was with FSP_CAP enabled, if you got errors like screen tearing, please report, or if it works just fine or is faster than before
V08-v5 - 15.03.2012 - 20:35(GMT+1)
- linked wifi driver instead of copying, should boot up a little faster
- cm9 wifi fix
V08 FIX3 - 07.03.2012 - 07:36(GMT)
- included charger in the ramdisk, so offline charging working now
V08 FIX2 - 03.03.2012 - 15:13(GMT)
- now touchrecovery should work fine for synaptics and cypress (alfsamsung reedited the bootrec)
V08 - 03.03.2012
-CWM-Touchrecovery 5.2.8 for both cypress and synaptics
-new cool touchrecovery buttons (great work from alfsamsung)
-new kernel logo and recovery background (made by myself )
-added options partition sd card and fix permissions
-lof of small changes in the kernel
Big Thanks go to
-Free Xperia Team
-Doixanh for helping alfsamsung with wifi driver and for his great work.
-alfsamsung for helping me with the wifi driver
-DeFcOn
-jerpelea
-nobodyAtall
-and all the others metioned by alfsamsung
Thanks, alfsamsung! Gonna test it as soon as possible.
Thanks, I will test it, but why anyone can't build kernel for Froyo? Froyo + dope kernel with all features and X8 will be really crazy.

but maybe cypress driver can be set with the same parameters of that fix, at least i looked ax8mt module source code and they had basically the same structure.
pd: at least for me it's a big problem and it's why i am still on froyo. Touchscreen phone's shouldn't have bugs on touchscreen hahaha

Tips and Tricks :-
Network Settings:-
Mobile Network > Network Type Selection> Select 2G (saves battery)
Personal Settings:-
Personal > Display > Brightness > Turn Auto Brightness Off (set to lowest, increase from toggle when needed)
Personal > Display > Sleep > 30sec is more than enough (saves battery)
Personal > Location Services > Off (turn on from toggle when needed... saves battery)
Personal > Accounts & sync > Off (switch on when needed... saves battery)
System Settings:-
Developers Options > User Interface > Force GPU Rendering > ON (increases performance)
Developers Options > User Interface > Windows Sale Animations > 0.5x (reduces lags if present)
Developers Options > Apps > Background Process Limit > 2 (can use your own number... gives you more ram other words releases ram)
Performance > Memory Management > zRam > 18% default (compress memory for increased virtual capacity)
Performance > Memory Management > Allow purging of assests > ON (allows the freeing of more ram when needed)
These above settings will help you increase performance & battery life!!
I found this, if i'm not wrong it's a commit for gpu clock control of Mali400, it's possible to add it in the next release?

Already in your signatures and this has been recommended by FXP himself search CM 9.1 forum.
I still have to try this kernel and looks promising to me in Rachit's Kernel battery was way better comparing to FXP Original Kernel.

CWM works good, but there are these messages:
'e: Missing bitmap b4,b5,b6,b7,b8,a10'
and touch buttons don't work.
It boots ! do you want to know something in particular?
I noticed a huge usage of RAM: it stays on 30/50m Mb, while before I've 100/120 Mb with the same apps in background
But after ran zipalign and sqlite script, my free ram is back, sorry

OC stands for "Overclock" and NON OC stands for "Non Overclock". Ok, let's say, our device have 1GHz processor, with the OC kernel, you can make your device's processor clock at 1.15GHz.

If your device is rooted go into /system/media/
If there is a a file called bootanimation.zip you can delete or rename it to bootanimation.zip.bak and that will remove the boot animation.
