Bad fps with IP camera - G Pad 8.3 Themes and Apps

I'm using my Samsung S3 phone as a IPcamera through the app "IP webcam" in android.
When connecting my PC to the phone, the picture floats fine in videomode. But when I do the same thing with the LG g Pad, the fps drops to a really bad state of picture-picture-mode.
Any of you guys got any suggestion on how to resolve this problem, if it is possible at all?

[Q] TV-out slows down phone badly?

Hi, I'm trying to connect my phone with the HDMI cable i've got in box with my full hd tv.
Everything seems to work great - except it seems that my phone slows down noticably - in games, ui responsiveness, everything - i take it may be because outputs 1080p signal to the tv and tries to upscale it?
Did anyone notice that ui responsiveness is not that smooth when the phone is connected to their tv? I was thinking there might be a way to output 720p signal to the tv instead ?
Anyone else experienced this?
It connects at 720p by default.
Ive had it connected to my Monitor at 1080 and 720 and the phone still runs great at either resolution
Can you configure how it connects ? my tv reports 1080 resolution when i plug it in.
And i have like 1/3rd of performance - especially if i try to run any game like cut the rope.
yaeh , just tested again, connects as 1080p and when its connected even scrolling of options or bringing up top dropdown bar is not fluid anymore.
What verson of firmware do you use ? Mine is 6.0.A.3.62.
Ive tried to change the "output quality" setting, but it doesnt seem to do anything in my case. I can only set scaling of phone screen on tb 80%-100% regulation.
Ok, so i've found a "scientific" measurable way to test.
In quadrant (free test in market) i get following results:
Without tv plugged in: ~3100, flyby in room with stairs 30-50 fps
With TV plugged in: ~2700, flyby in room with stairs 20-25 fps so only 50% of what i get normally and it has visible frame skip
Can someone check that on your phone and post your results?
I will give it a try as well when I am done with battery test.

Mine was:
Without tv plugged in: 32-42fps score: 3183
With tv plugged in: 23-26fps score: 2876
Hmmm...
ok so we do have a problem then, since your results confirm mine ....
Now i only hope this is some kind of firmware/driver issue,
Games are completly unplayable (at least for me) when phone is plugged to tv, even simple ones like Canabalt from humblebundle ....
Would be good if someone with firmware different than .62 could post their results.
Quick test with Angry Birds:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auksuKwrGsE
Still on .67
Yup, I can easly see 0.5s delayed response to your finger on the movie.
Ok, any ideas what now? I'm trying to contact Sony support but so far no luck.
This is completly unacceptable for such expensive phone.
So this 0.5sec delay is what's bothering you?
Bothering? this renders this phone useless for any other gaming except things like angry birds where you dont have to react on time - besides some other games like canabalt (where you have constantly scrolling fast screen) lag and drop frames like crazy - totaly unusable. Even "cut the rope" where you need to be precise is non-playable.

Check out this video on Xperia Arc S - in the end they run Angry Birds Rio and there is no problem like this present.
I also think that running "ubuntu for android" and using is would be a very bad experience with this kind of issues
So yeah... im pretty bothered overall with delay and 50% framedrop.
Got response from sony support that they got notified about an issue and there will be be a firmware update in next 10 days that i hope might correct the issue.

I have to admit, that's a good point. I haven't looked at this from this point of view. Now we have to wait for fix, or maybe there is a way to make it work properly.
Yeah, its interesting to me, that the video of Xperia Arc S i've posted above seems to indicate that the phone doesnt have any issues when connected to tv. So im hoping its something easly fixable with software.
I have uploaded new, longer version now, icluding Angry Birds, Quadrant and video playback:
Sony Xperia S - HDMI TV-out delay - Angry Birds + Quadrant + Playback
Found another one as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m97iy8XEXc4
Awesome work, now it would be great if we could get attention of someone who made custom roms for Xperias - Maybe they would have a better idea whats going on. On posted videos the problem is more visible.
Im not sure if its really "input lag", i would rather blame some kind of rendering problem - input lag is probably a side effect of this.
I don't have mine yet but could it be because the phone's having to render to 2 screens (one at 720 and one at 720/1080)?. Doing this on a pc increases the load on the system even if the screens are cloned - it would be the same on the phones/tablets as well.
From the little testing I did with my Archos 70 before giving up on trying to get it doing HDMI out reliably (wonky £1 adapter at fault maybe) I found that turns the internal screen off and just uses the touch area as a trackpad so as to give maximum performance to the output.
Now the specs of the Archos 70's are a bit poor at best but it does what I want it for - playing music and video while having a nice big 250gb drive. The specs on the latest round of phones should certainly have the power to run 2 screens without issue. However, any resource intensive work (games for example) would degrade performance in such situations.
Are there any similar problems when playing back video?
Maybe try some less intensive games like Robotek or Frozen Bubble?
I would rather say, there is a delay only. When watching above videos, what comes to your mind first? Delay or lag? I would say there is a delay, because picture is rather smooth. So in that case, it would be a matter of changing some settings, rather than phone can't perform running two screens. Arc s can do it, so Xperia S should be even better.
Not having used either handset and with what you've said, I'd say it's more than likely to be a software issue somewhere. Going by Sony's recent behaviour with updates and support little problems like this should be resolved sooner rather than later.
This is what is drawing me to the Xperia for my next handset as HTC seem to just abandon things once something new is out.
Once I get mine I'll hopefully be able to help out a bit more with stock rom problems.

Only edge connection //rattling camera sound and image shaking

Hello. I have no Internet connection other than edge. Whenever I chose wdspa or lte the icon shows but no reception at all. I've even tried hard reset but to no avail. This started to happen a few days ago and I know it is the phone because if I insert the Sim in another phone it just works like a charm. I think it is a hardware issue. Also sometimes when launching the camera the screen starts shaking like mad and a rattling sound can be heard, this is not the normal sound of the camera, since it did it sometimes when booting the phone, it is crazy loud now.
Any help? The no 3g connection drives me crazy! Samsung just told me to bring it to a repair centre but wanted to ask you guys if it happened to any of you. Thanks a lot.
I had the same issue with my camera. Took it to my carrier and they had to replace the lens. Samsung told me it was hardware failure in the camera. I've read a few people who have had the issue, not sure how they all fixed it though.

S9+ lag spikes on ps4 Mobile tethering

I've had my s9+ for over two weeks and absolutely love the phone. There is one problem I am facing. I usually game on my ps4 using my mobile hotspot on the T-mobile network. When I test my connection my download speeds are usually high, 50 download and around 4-6 upload. For some reason I have gotten random lag spikes ( due to the ping fluctuating ) I turned off power saving mode under configure mobile hotspot, but still nothing. I never had this issue on my google pixel. Just to confirm I popped my SIM card back into my pixel and used it for about 2 hours no spikes whatsoever. Any ideas?
Bump
Can't comfirm for Ps4 as I haven't used it with that as of now. But yes, when I connect it to my laptop as hotspot, network speed is terrible and it continues to disconnect the internet. I have to connect to VPN again and again.
having similar issues with my in car wifi keeps dropping to my headunit. old s7 is fine

Having the same issue on my laptop, works perfectly with my work phone on the same network, but when connecting to any laptop i get these spikes in latency.
I have attached some screenshots that show my ping on my phone, vs on my laptop via hotspot which shows the spikes.
Did you find a solution?
After I got the latest update from T-mobile I did a clean reset and flashed a new image through Odin. I have tested it out desktop without any disconnections or lag spikes. I have tested it out watching Netflix YouTube videos in 4K without any hiccups. I called Samsung and they said they had multiple complaints about lag spikes on the ps4. It seems to me that it isn't optimized to hold a consistent Ping. Samsung said they submitted a ticket and gave me a ticket number. Hopefully they can find the issue and correct it. Will update periodically as soon as Samsung gives me an update.
News? I have the Same problem.
With Samsung s7 hotspot i have 32 ms on my ps4, with my new s9 hotspot i have 129ms.
im italian.

Big area of screen is not responsive, and high ping on WiFi

Hey,
So my Motorola G8 Power (PAHE0025AR, Argentina) arrived yesterday and as soon as I started using it, I noticed a big problem:
The screen is unresponsive in the edges, top, and bottom. I recorded a video so you can watch for yourselves:
https://streamable.com/et8iar
There's no way to touch the area outside of the rectangle I drew, it just doesn't register any touch events there, making the navbar really hard to use and it's impossible to pull the notification bar down in landscape mode.
Did this happen to anyone else? I also noticed, using the app "Multi touch test", that if you place 3 or more fingers, it kind of goes crazy, something that doesn't happen with other phones.
Also, I knew the WiFi would be slow (no 5Ghz support), but I have insanely high lag spikes on 2.4Ghz, which is odd because it's not happening with other devices...
Did anyone else experience something like this? Could it be because of the screen protector that comes with it? I don't wanna take it off if I'm going to return the phone, but I can't see how a thin plastic film can make the screen center work but not the edges...

mine did not come with a screen protector, so i can't speak for that, but just to be sure i would suggest getting it off, so you know for sure before returning it to the shop

i did a ping test ( to google) on 4g and on wifi , with 4g it averages around 40ms and on wifi it's around 20 ms this is a 2.4 ghs 802.11g wifi network
I have 3 G powers. The screens on all of them work. You may have received a bad unit. The Moto warranty covers manufacturer defects.
Thanks for your answers. I'm pleased to find out the screen works well without the plastic film that came with it.
However, I still have the WiFi ping spikes problem. It happens when connecting to any server, so I can't play any games.
I attached pictures of some ping tests. Notice how sometimes it takes so long in the terminal (over a second?) to ping that it times out and it results in a packet loss (3/20 and 2/20)
This happens only with my Moto G8 Power, tested the WiFi with other phones and my PC as well and they work fine (no spikes).

it can happen that there is some form of incompatibility between devices , in this case your phone with the current router setup.
if you have the option, please try another wifi accesspoint ( a neighbor or a friend perhaps) just to be sure you experience the same problem on all wifi. If that is the case we can assume a bad wifi chip or reception problem, else there might be a solution in changing your WiFi setup.
The WiFi issue fixed itself after one day and a half somehow. I hope it was just something wrong with my WiFi setup handling new devices or something like that. Didn't get to test it with other WiFi connection yet.
Thanks!

v30+ External display

So recently my v30+ suffered a sad fate and the display died on me, so i turned to using an external display via dongle (type c to hdmi) And for some reason it's been VERY laggy as if it was only 2fps, i've rebooted the phone, changed resolution, to no avail, it was working fine for about a week now its totally unusable due to it being so laggy.. Any ideas as to what could have caused this? Thanks.
