[ROM][XT1575] Marshmallow 6.0 with September 2016 Security Patch - X Style (Pure) Android Development

Here is a stock ROM for the Moto X Pure X1575 with the September update applied, pulled from my device and converted into a flashable ZIP for TWRP.
In order to minimize on someone attempting to flash these zips on a non-XT1575, they have been scripted to not install on unsupported devices.
If you remove the restriction to flash on a non-XT1575, you are on your own with support. I do not have any other variant of the Moto X to test on.
----- ROMS -----
--- Odexed ROM ---
Nothing was done to the ROM. Not deodexed, no root, no Busybox, no anything. Just a clean dump from the phone.
1. Download the ODEXED ROM from here: odexed-stock_6.0_for_moto_x_pure_edition-september_patched-20170111.zip
2. Flash (clean recommended, especially if you're coming from a non-stock like ROM such as CM) in TWRP
3. Done
* Wait about 5-10 minutes upon first boot
--- Deodexed ROM ---
Similar to the odexed version, except it has every Google and Moto app updated as of 01/11/2017, zipaligned, and the VOLTE switch fixed (Settings > More > Cellular Networks)
1. Download the DEODEXED ROM from here: deodexed-stock_6.0_for_moto_x_pure_edition-september_patched-20170111.zip
2. Flash (clean recommended, especially if you're coming from a non-stock like ROM such as CM) in TWRP
3. Done
* Wait about 5-10 minutes upon first boot
----- ROM Add-Ons -----
--- SuperSU ---
For root, here is a version of SuperSU 2.79 SR2 which gets forced to install as systemless.
1. Download from here: supersu_2.79-sr2_systemless_installer-20170111.zip
2. Flash in TWRP
3. Done
--- Busybox ---
Personally I use @osm0sis' version of Busybox Installer, which has given me no issues whatsoever. It also installs as systemless if SuperSU is installed, which is a nice bonus.
1. Download Busybox Installer from his thread here: [TOOLS][ZIPS][SCRIPTS] osm0sis' Odds and Ends [Multiple Devices/Platforms]
2. Flash in TWRP
3. Done
--- ViPER4Android FX 2.3.4.0 ---
This will install ViPER4Android FX 2.3.4.0, which in my opinion is the last superior version quality-wise, along with fixes needed to allow it to run with the kernel set to enforcing. No need for permissive mode.
NOTE: This will install files to the /system partition, potentially nullifying acceptance of OTA updates.
NOTE 2: You need SuperSU for everything in this to work properly!
1. Download from here: viper4android_2.3.4.0_installer-20170111.zip
2. Flash in TWRP
3. Done
--- Custom Boot Logo (Moto Z Edition) ---
This is a customized logo you see when booting up the phone ported from a non-carrier branded Moto Z.

This is a bootanimation you see when you are waiting for your phone to boot. Taken from a non-carrier branded Moto Z.
Preview: Part 1 | Part 2

2. Flash in TWRP

----- OTHER STUFF -----
--- Phone Dump Created with TWRP and the "dd" Command ---
This is a dump of the Moto X Pure Edition with the September patch applied.
Useful if you want to use it as a base for building your own custom stock-based ROM using an application like Superr's Kitchen.
Attached to this thread are notes of the Pure's device partitions and the commands I used to dump (listed below).
The ZIP includes the following:
Code:
- boot.img (Kernel)
- BTFM.bin (Bluetooth radio)
- fsg.mbn (1 of 2 of the modem)
- logo.bin (Stock boot logo)
- modemst1 (Modem related)
- modemst2 (Modem related)
- NON-HLOS.bin (2 of 2 of the modem)
- recovery.img (Stock recovery)
- system.img (System partition)
Note: This is not flashable in TWRP!
Download from here: non-flashable_dump-moto_x_pure_edition_xt1575_with_september_update.zip
----- CREDITS -----
@Superr for Superr's Kitchen
@Chainfire for SuperSU
@osm0sis for Busybox Installer
@viper520 for ViPER4Android
Anyone else I may have missed (my sincere apologies!)

If anyone wants to debloat the ROM, let me know (make a list) of what you want removed and I'll make a flashable TWRP ZIP which will remove what you requested.

Thanks for this stock ROM, utilities and goodies.

I could do that. I'll have to learn how to set up Aroma again. And if it's possible, depending on the output size, combine odexed and deodexed /system into a single zip which will allow the user to choose which one they want before choosing what they do and don't want with apps. Again, if this is possible. Otherwise, I'll just upload separate versions.
I haven't heard from vx in a while so my version won't be as insanely de-bloated as his since he spent a LOT of time tweaking that ROM when I was helping him.
As for the kernel, I leave my settings stock on 300Hz since my battery lost a lot of its charge over the year, and I don't want to put any more money into repairing this phone since I'm going to a 3T, while keeping this to play around on while tethered to a charger.

Try flashing the May factory image from here or here, then this ROM. TruePure has a pretty old modem.
Alternatively, manually flash the parts of the modem on PC using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
Download: moto_x_pure_xt1575_september_modem_update.zip

First of all thank you for the work done!
I'm with the may update build and also with TWRP and rooted. If I apply this over I won't lose any data, right?
I will just have to root it again and modify whatever I did over system (remove some unused apps).

Correct. It'll just overwrite the /system partition, removing and mods and such.

I would love a debloated version!
Edit: from the looks of it the December update is almost here too.

does usb tethering work with this rom?

Flashed just fine over my modded stock May security. Re-flashed SuperSu, Xposed and I'm back up and running.

I'm absolutely loving Exodus ROM so I'm going to make a full backup of it and give this a try, removing all the APPs I will replace via Google APPs, etc... and see how it does. A fully stock ROM debloated a tiny touch should bring more stability I would think... Only one way to find out!! Thanks for putting this together for us!!!

If possible, I would like this as a TruPure style ROM. I'm not sure what is there to debloat since I like using the Moto features. Maybe a debloated deodexed version?

If possible, a debloated ROM sans the Google apps (play store store and framework excluded ) would be great. I am sure that we can download the necessary Google apps from the play Store as needed.
Great job on the ROM! I flashed it along with root and xposed and I am good to go ?

I downloaded the "May" update but it shows up as the November 1, 2015 patch. Build No. MPH24.49-18 .
After flashing I get an update pop up for 24.201.3.en.US .

24.201.3 is the February update. You can grab the OTA in my old thread, first link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/xt1575-february-2016-security-update-t3323126
Apply that first before the May update.
Edit: Just read your post again. Seems like your phone wants to update to the February patch. Apply it, then apply the May update you've downloaded.

Yeah. I'm on autopilot and didn't realize it. I can only flash late night because it is the only time my phone is not blowing up. I'll do that. Thanks!

Without knowing exactly what was changed in TruPureXMM, it would be very hard to replicate TruPure's changes. There was a LOT done in that ROM. You can take the Deodexed Zipaligned ROM from here and in TWRP mount System and delete any of the APPs you want removed.
The only thing I can think of that TruPure has that I would like if the Dynamic NavBar coloring as it works a LOT better than xPosed methods, but Flat Style Color Bars works fine enough for now.
Edit: Here's what I did so far...
Wiped Everything, Flashed Deodexed ZipAligned ROM, Flashed SuperSU, Flashed BusyBox, Flashed Viper4Android (All provided in OP) and then also flashed xPosed v87 sdk23 arm64. Then I mounted System and removed a whole bunch within system/app: Calculator, CalendarGoogle, Chrome, CloudPrint, DeskClockGoogle, Drive, MotorolaConnect_Basic, EditorsDocs, EditorsSheets, EditorsSlides, Exchange3Google, Gmail2, GoogleHindiIME, GooglePinyinIME, Hangouts, JapaneseIME, KoreanIME, Maps, Mms, Music2, Photos, talkback, Translate, YouTube... Then I pulled a few from system/priv-app: AudioEffects (If you flash Viper), Contacts, Dialer & MotGallery2.
Next step, flash PixelPhone & PixelContacts from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/themes-apps/google-pixel-dialer-t3477633
Once you do this, unmount System and your USB or sdCard if you don't need it in during boot and go through initial setup... Then get into Settings / APPs / Gear Icon / Default APPs and choose Phone so your calls will come through as intended. Also, install your launcher of choice if you do not like Google Now Launcher.
Back into Recovery and delete system/app/GoogleHome if you replaced it with another launcher.
I like to install all of my Google stuff via the Play Store, so a LOT of what I removed will get reinstalled, including GBoard, so I actually delete system/app/LatinImeGoogle also after first boot to get through it's initial setup more easily first.
Here's the xPosed Modules I use: Android N-ify, Assistant Enabler, GravityBox & Flat Style Color Bars
Don't forget to install the xPosed Installer via APK and XDA Labs if you use that too.
All in all, this is a VERY solid experience, so a HUGE thank you to the OP for putting this together for us.

I think it would be worth mentioning this will only flash for those on mdk bootloader.
Hi, Thank you for your contributions. The link you provide for source is not source...it is just another thread on another forum.
Please provide kernel source link as required by GPLv2 and XDA requirements.
Once done then this can be moved to Android Development.
Thanks

Even though everyone should know by now that unless noted that it is SS compatible that MDK is what is needed, however, I agree it should be posted somewhere that it will ONLY work on MDK not just suggested.

Perfect I am on MDK but I would hate for people on SS to get the wrong impression and attempt to flash, that would be a catastrophy.

Soon an update will show in your system update app that will fix sone isdues users are having
Hello, I upgraded to this rom coming from GPE kitkat AOSP. Lollipop installed just fine and after initial setup seemed flawless. However, my phone gets a critical error when using the Dialer app (which actually started from getting a voicemail). Now whenever I make a call, which in this case was my voicemail box, the phone will freeze and I have to do a battery pull to reset the phone. Thinking it was an installation error I tried to reinstall the rom again after a full internal wipe + cache/dalvik, and this time on the first time setup my Messenger app was crashing causing me to be unable to finish the setup process. I reverted back to a Kitkat rom afterward and upon calling my voicemail box it turns out that I had an "unauthorized access attempt" from my own phone number, which was bizarre in and of itself.
My versions of everything is as follows:
MDK Verizon Galaxy S4
TWRP 2.8.4.0
Modem NK1
I have also experimented with a non-HLOS version of the NK1 modem and that still doesn't fix the problem. Any insight would be appreciated because I would like to transition to Lollipop on this phone. Thanks!

Try re-downloading then full wiping to re-flash. If that doesn't work make sure you are flashing the correct GAPPs package.

How well does Bluetooth work on this rom? I've been looking for a CM-based rom that doesn't suffer from the bluetooth sharing service crash bug, but no luck as of yet.

Until CM works out the issue every ROM that uses it as a base will have the same issue, or at least 99% chance to have the same issue.

Installation Instructions:
Assuming your starting from NC2-NC5-NG6-NK1 with Safestrap or TWRP as your usual custom ROM flashing recovery. Open .zip from Install option. Flash the ROM. When ROM install is complete reboot to Download mode connect phone to PC and flash my CustomROM_Upgrade_Lollipop_VZW_wNK4-NoSys-gogolie.tar in Odin on your PC. Your upgrade/install is now complete. Odin will restart your phone and you'll be presented with a Safestrap option if using SS clear the option 3-4x before the ROM will boot. Feel free to remove or uninstall Safestrap once ROM is loaded. Note - the initial load takes nearly 20mins! So... patience.
If wishing to install from an already rooted OC1 phone or similar 5.01 S4 you'll need to flash the Downgrade tar (unless using another S4 variant or MDK that has TWRP or Custom Recovery options then you'd follow the 1st procedure and ignore the Odin flashing portion and just flash your favorite Custom Kernel recommended is AEL or KT) but only after installing Safestrap 3.75 and busybox. Personally, I'd install Safestrap on the Phone then press restart to recovery while holding Vol Down this will bring up the Download Mode Screen. Now flash the Downgrade. The phone continues into Safestrap where you'll flash the ROM. Then Restart again to Download Mode and flash the Re-Upgrade and now your finished.
ROM Download: VZW - V49 pr1
Enjoy!
Feel free to thank or donate in order to continue ROM development for the phone
Many thank you's to @friedrich420 he does a fantastic job developing these!

yes you may need to flash 5.0 modem too however I haven't been able to test this with MDK yet. let me know how it goes?
I may have forgot to mention but it should flash stock kernel 5.0 if you choose the VZW option from aroma installer. you can try that or flash custom kernel. you could also choose the Other S4 option and it will avoid installing VZW stock apps that aren't really necessary for MDK anyway

Where can I download the 5.0 modem?
2 questions a year ago I gave away this phone to someone. It has been running 4.4.2 rom.
#1 does it have Polish language?
#2 if I were to factory reset etc.. flash this rom, is flashing the .tar in odin really needed to install this rom? can't I just simply flash it ?
If I was to install it:
#1 flash in twrp (safestrap)
#2 go into download mode and flash using odin the .tar file
#3 do factory reset, wipe cache etc..
does that sound right?
Since this is essentially a completely custom ROM and not a variant of the stock OC1, is XPosed safe to use on this or will it bootloop?
unable to boot?
unable to get past safestrap screen on NC2 bootloader using safestrap 3.72
After following the instructions to a T, I am stuck on a black screen after boot. I have a status bar, and the power menu works but I don't have anything else. Any reason as to why this is happening?
Which slot do we use in Odin to flash the upgrade/downgrade files?
Alright so I tried it on 5.0.1 and it won't work because I can't install safestrap. I tried using Safestrap 3.75 from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473398834 but it doesn't seem to install after I open up the app and click install recovery, basically the Safe System stays as Not installed and the reboot to recovery option stays greyed out. I tried going to download mode and flashed the downgrade in the AP slot but it just soft bricks at the Galaxy S4 black screen.

Seemed to have figured it out. Followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/safestrap-t3097741 and installed that safestrap version and selected the enable su at boot in supersu. I skipped the part about flashing the nk1 kernel. Then I rebooted to download mode, flashed the downgrade file posted by gogolie above, booted into safestrap, flashed the rom, booted back into download mode, flashed the reupgrade file, then rom booted up after bypassing the safestrap screen by clicking continue 3x. Rom took 15-20 minutes to load but it's fine so far. Using tethering and getting the rom set up now.
i could also test on mdk bootloader

5.0 modem link would be helpful to me as well......
I am curious to test on MDK as well but wanted to get working on my secondary device first which is on NC2 bootloader and currently use MDK device on Safestrap RLS21 as it works the best with my galaxy gear. I have in the past used echo and loved it as well as it also worked well with galaxy gear which is why I really would like to try this out on one of my devices.

yes in a nutshell if your safestrap. however I didn't have to do any wipes and brought with my data from 4.4.2 a few times using this method and this ROM. If you run into any FCs well then yeah FReset and Wipe a few times
but theres a big difference in TWRP and Safestrap bro if you have TWRP that'd mean your on MDK bootloaders and you'd be fine with just flashing ROM and installing 5.0 custom firmware. the odin image would be something you wouldnt ever flash if your an MDK user. Most MDK users know to avoid bootloaders / non-hlos files as they'll lose their MDK bootloaders. But if your Safestrap then yes you flash the ODin image. in either Odin or Flashfire. I recommend Odin or you might lose warranty or get the goofy broken lock startup screen. And no this is a US release. However if you know what your doing at all with android MODs making your own custom MOD to add any language would be easy. Take a flashable /system .zip remove contents and add in /sipdb/LanguageOfChoice and /VODB/LanguageOfChoice files then flash. You'd be pulling those language files from an International ROM as Verizon doesnt come with Polish language as an option.

Chad the easiest way I can tell you on howto get the Modem is download my WiFi Fix and open up the .zip on a PC delete the nhlos file and flash I'm sure one exists somewhere maybe muniz or someone popped one online? I'm fairly confident your gear will react well to echoe. but you cannot be on NC2 as much as I love the bootloader myself... You'll need to flash the Odin package on your non-MDK phone. No worries this is not the full OTA and you can fully downgrade every single file back to NC2 when your done! No worries bro I methodically tested this before releasing the method. I also created a thread in General section detailing the process a bit more

GOOD WORK MAN glad to hear a success story. If safestrap wouldn't install it was possibly missing busybox. I tested installing on 5.0 and it works fine altho you cannot reboot into it successfully unless you flash my downgrade file as mentioned.
Was able to successfully get the rom installed and setup. However I cannot send texts. I can receive text, can call and use mobile data though. If you need I can upload a logcat or something later.

WOW! I am stunned we even got something going on after we got the Boot OTA (B20_boot) rolled for members to play around.
I wouldn't even surprise me if we get an AOSP merge going on in less than a month, BUT, given the irritating and atrocious delay on Axon7 supplies, I don't think it will actually happen in less than a month, when the second waves of gold Axon7s reach users.

Yea its surprising how everything just started to get off so quickly. I wasn't even expecting root for a while but this is great. It seems ZTE left alot of the underlying things as stock as possible so might be not too bad for AOSP port, but yea definitely need to start delivering to phones quickly. I really wish they released the full stock ROM files, hope it doesn't take too long and they end up doing it.

What does this mean?
"(IF YOU ARE SYSTEMLESS ROOT , THIS WILL BRAKE SYSTEMLESS)"
I thought all Marshmellow root was systemless
http://www.howtogeek.com/249162/what-is-systemless-root-on-android-and-why-is-it-better/
What about systemless exposed?
http://www.droidviews.com/install-systemless-xposed-android-devices/
Does this help with that or am I off topic?
http://www.xda-developers.com/use-android-pay-with-xposed-without-rebooting-with-magisk/
I guess i'm just confused about what difference does it matter if I brake systemless or not.
Do I need to install SuperSU after the systemless root to gain root?
How do you install TWRP? I have an error "FAILED (remote partition flashing is not allowed)". Any ideas?
Ok I found the reason why TWRP was not installed. The bootloader was still locked after I installed the zip file and I didn't see the prompt to unlock it. For those who are having trouble like me, you have to type "fastboot oem unlock" in adb console to get the unlock prompt.

OK, so I have a little problem. After I flashed the SuperSU zip, my device for some reason factory reset and with it deleted the TWRP backup in the internal storage, so I could not restore my data. My Axon 7 is now showing the wrong internal storage. It says that there is only 4GB instead of 64GB. I have already factory reset it at least 3 times and it didn't work which means the system itself is corrupt. So can someone please be so kind as to post the system image file that they backed up through TWRP? Thank you.
Ah ****!! I think I just brink my phone. Does anyone has a backup of the phone that I can use to reinstall OS?

[ROM][STOCK][DEBLOATED][5.1.1] Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 LTE 2016 (SM-T285)

This is a custom Rom I made for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 LTE (SM-T285), which suits my tastes.
If you have suggestions, send me a PM.
UPDATE 09/07/2016
================
A newer version that runs "root" (sepolicy constrained) scripts can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-samsung-galaxy-tab-7-0-lte-2016-sm-t3455788
Use the above version instead if you want to experiment with features like apps 2 sdcard.

You have to go to download mode and then use Odin to flash. Unfortunately this does not root the T285.

Hi,
Anyone tried Pokemon Go update 0.37 with this ROM? The update fails to start for me. It prompts device/os version is incompatible.
I reverted back to version 0.35 and it works fine.

Yeah the newest version checks for xposed and a bunch of other things. Actually a lot of people were pissed that they did this. You'd probably need to revert back to stock if you want to play. Only systemless root and xposed with magisk works for Pokemon go now.

Also if you want more details on what is going on search google for "pokemon go safetynet". Basically most custom roms and not just this device should fail the test.

Hello and thank you for your work with this device. Currently I am looking for a bypass for the factory reset protection on my sm t280. I have flashed the stock md5 file 3+ times attempting to do a complete data wipe and reset, and this doesnt remove the lock. Any ideas?

To FRP unlock you have to go to developer settings and switch oem unlock to false. The stock rom should have it unless you are using a carrier locked version that I a! not aware of.

FRP is specifically designed to prevent flashing if you can't login to the device. You won't be able to flash unless the person has turned off oem unlock beforehand. I am not aware of any method to bypass this on this device.
Also the T280 and T285 have slightly different hardware so using a different recovery image is not recommended. Also since both devices have a locked bootloader, I highly doubt you can even change the recoveries from stock as I would imagine samsung using different keys for both. At the worst case it still always possible to reflash them back to stock if you do want to try

And thank you so much for selling it. I don't speak enough Spanish to make the ordeal of getting one of the T285M's from so america worthwhile. I was planning on sticking with my T239M for awhile, then I saw your T285M on ebay.
I've dirty flashed jedld's T285 debloated rom, then dirty flashed his T285 tinker rom on top of that. Both onto my T285M. Working flawlessly. Wished he'd kept the mail app, but without touchwiz I guess that wasn't possible.
Something else they blocked in the kernel or with SElinux on the T285M is screen mirroring. Can only cast directly from apps.
Still I am happy overall. Now looking for a castrated version of daemonsu!

Contemplating on getting the Samsung J max 7.0 dual sim...yes no U.S lte but has an 8mp camera and a flash...similar to the T285 otherwise...can't say how many times I needed the flash for photos or even if for looking at labels peering into dim areas behind a monitor or tv..maybe end up in same pickle of no root...will see (number is SM-T285YD so it is based off the T285 it seems-maybe a Latin American version soon?)
Also trying to get the T705M from another source but taking forever...low hopes think it will come through

got another one - white color ...as a gift...God Bless - great device battery life is just incredible - nothing fancy but does its job...keeping this one (had it since early November) gave up on the 705m
Is this ROM compatible with Google Safetynet? I can't seem to log into Pokemon GO since I installed Tinker edition, so I'm thinking to switch to this one instead.
Haven't tried it but it should work.
Is the root part contained in boot.img or in system.img? In other words, when using Heimdall I should flash both system.img and boot.img, isn't it?
I'm getting bootloops with CM13, Omni and I don't know how I got Tinker working, I kind of remember flashing boot.img, then wiping, then flashing system.img, then wiping again.
EDIT: got this one working too by flashing boot.img (Heimdall complains it cannot receive confirmation msg) reboot into download again, then flashing system.img (this time heimdall does reboot the phone). however, pokemon go still wont connect due to google's safetynet compliance.
I'll try flashing recovery in case it is TWRP the one clashing with Safetynet.
PD: I didn't backup stock at the beggining of the process so I'm pretty much screwed with Pokemon until I can afford a new phone. But if someone has a stock ROM for T285MUBU0API2, please ping me.
EDIT2 Got pokemon working. I reinstalled TWRP (this ROM's recovery is the stock one, of course), then flashed unSU. It removed SuperSU binary and Google SafeNet got working again. I can't believe that, after so much hours I've put into finding the best custom ROM for this crappy phone, 95% of the time was spent in trying to get Pokemon GO running. I'm close to 40, FML.

[ROM] [H918] 10p Debloated Rom Flashable Zip - fast as nuts no lag w Pixel Launcher

The link below is a DEBLOATED flashable zip of the LG V20 10p ROM. I extracted it from the latest 10p KDZ file using kdztools and python 2.7 on Windows. I built the ROM from the extraction using Superrs kitchen version 3 on Linux.
Tons of bloat removed.
I purposely didn't remove WiFi calling, VPN files, and LG Update center in case you want to install some LG apps.
I have added the Google Pixel Launcher because it's so quick. It's optional to use if you want to or not.
I used Superr's kitchen to debloat this plus some manual cut and paste.

This rom is not rooted but you can flash magisk or SuperSU to root it. It does not flash recovery. It does not encrypt.
Using magisk it works with both Samsung and Android [email protected] which is the main reason I built it.
Issues: none i know of but let me know please! Also, see warnings below
TO DO's: you tell me
Flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible if your device gets bricked.
10p Warnings based on what we know:
WARNING #1 You must flash the 10p modem and bootloader for this to work. If you don't you will soft brick.
WARNING #2 Once you go to 10p modem and bootloader you can't go back to previous versions. If you try you will HARD brick your device.
WARNING #3 10P rom only works with 10p modem and 10p bootloader. Any other combo SOFT bricks.
WARNING #4 TWRP backups of previous versions will not restore correctly once you are on 10p. When you restore a previous version (10k and before) you will soft brick. You can unbrick by just installing the 10p ROM, modem, and bootloader over the top of your restore *****Restores and Backups of 10p roms work just fine.
BOTTOM LINE: Going to 10p is a TOTAL commitment and there probably will never be a way to go back. That said, I'm on 10p and so far it works great.

Clean install instructions: twrp backup, wipe, install ROM, install 10p modem, install 10p bootloader, install root of your choice, reboot
Dirty install works fine over Weta ROM or NATF ROM, but not over aosp or lineage roms: twrp backup, install ROM, install 10p modem, install 10p bootloader, install root of your choice, reboot. Note: when you dirty flash you do lose any system apps you had before but your data partition is retained.

yes sir. I can confirm that Magisk 13.3 works like a champ for me. Magisk 13.xx has always needed to be reinstalled like once every two weeks for me, no matter what ROM I am on. Samsung and Google [email protected] both work nicely too on this rom.

So happy to see more love for my beloved v20 going to dirty flash tomorrow and see how things go. One question I have is why for any reason would someone wanna go back to 10k? Does this update have any flaws that would make someone regret updating? New updates are always good right?
If anybody has dirty flashed from MEGAROM with no problems please let us know.
MEGAROM h918 10k
Deodex?
Great job on this, any chance for a deodex version so ee try some of the mods for this masterpiece?

well, the main reason to stay on 10k would be that you're guaranteed to be able to root and TWRP. if you make a mistake and lose TWRP for whatever reason while on 10p, you're fscked. you can wait for root, but I doubt it's coming any time soon
Bluetooth performance seem to be on point in this one as opposed to 10k!

So you're on 10K ? Then there's a good chance you flashed the 10K KDZ from lg-firmwares.com, or one of the TWRP zips from xda. The KDZ for 10K is messed up, just look inside it and see. Among other things, it contains a misc.bin (not supposed to be there) which overwrites the one (unique) on you phone, thus erasing your WLAN mac address and other stuff, possibly affecting Bluetooth.
Before I bricked, I noticed this when I used my phone as FTP server, the IP address would change at every reboot. At that time I didn't know why, but assumed it was just some temporary bug with the stock rom.
LG screwed up again.
Edit: OK, @me2151 has just informed me that the problem might not have been caused by wiping misc partition after all. There may been some confusion on the matter. But remains to be seen I guess. @dimm0k may have some input.
Nope seems it it the case like I first said. More info.
need root to try this stuck on 10p sadly
Does xposed work? If so which one is recomended for 10p?

I'm not entirely sure how a messed up misc partition would affect Bluetooth in general, as I'm usually using my phone to connect to headphones or car stereo, but with a messed up misc partition your Bluetooth address is no longer what it was when you first unboxed the device. see my post here if you're curious about the misc partition https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73439967&postcount=14
